Dyson Spere can be created by level 2 civilization and above. And that we see today happen 1500 years ago. Humans civilization is only level 0.1 - 0.2 .  We will be in trouble if they know we are here.

What do you mean "level 2" .. how would you go about grading the progress of a civilization, if we ourselves don't know how far we can come along as man?
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: cash remains the only option if there's an emergency on: October 15, 2015, 06:24:15 PM
I have a friend in Cannes, France. You may not know anything about it, but there were terrible floods there 10 days ago.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34443189

My friend told me her landline phone still doesn't work. There are no phones and no Internet in most of downtown Cannes. Electricity has been fixed quite rapidly, but for 2 days, the mobile phone networks were down, so no bitcoin, and no credit cards either! All the shops couldn't handle any transactions.

The only thing which kept on working was the fiber optic network, I guess because that's the newest.

The whole thing was very local. Everything was fine a few km North, but this shall reminds us that if there's a serious emergency, cash is the only safe option.

Well, I wonder how situations like this would be deal with in the future once the governments finally get rid of physical cash and only issue "electronic" closed source money, so to speak. What will happen then? I wish there was a way to have "physical bitcoins" as an emergency temporal fix like that but it seems pointless.

Well, there are "physical bitcoins" now.. but they aren't really meant to be for spending and trading, just more like a collectors item.
963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: AMERICA PRESIDENT WHO YOU PREFER? on: October 15, 2015, 06:16:26 PM

He sounds good. His plan is good on paper.

BUT!

How is he going to pay for all of this stuff? Did you know that if he does everything he says he is going to do, it will cost him 18 TRILLIONS$?

He is just lying...

And that is the key ingredient for any republican arguing any democrat/socialist ... They make all of these wonderful programs to help Americans in need, and just simply put it on the I.O.U tab to China.  It won't be long before the debt will be something our great great grandkids will have to deal with.
964  Economy / Goods / Re: What goods are in demand? on: October 15, 2015, 05:56:23 PM
Well, talking about in general here on the forum.. the goods with the most demand would definitely be physical cryptos.  Then you would have miners and bitcoin talk accounts (and other accounts).
965  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Astronomers may have found alien megastructures orbiting star near the Milky Way on: October 15, 2015, 05:28:27 PM
Yes, they are getting ready to have everyone fooled into believing there's alien life out there, and we're insignificant specs of dust in the infinite galaxy, lol.

Why would they "fool" us into thinking that there is alien life out there?  It's either there is or there isn't, it's not really a matter of "faith" that there are extraterrestrials.

Plus the government has always came off to me as being shady, in hiding some info about extraterrestrials and whoever asks about it is called a nut.  If they do find alien life out in the Milky Way, or already have, then I would imagine that they would hide that shit so quick from the general public.
966  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going up for no apparent reason? on: October 15, 2015, 05:24:51 PM
I guess Gemini and the sidechain have somewhat caused the upward movement. Whatever it is, I'm loving it. Smiley

I tend to think also that these positive things have started this rally! Some people here actually think that all of this is just a dead cat bounce or a manipulation of sort! Smiley

I hope they are not right! It's great to see Bitcoin in green!

I think it's a mixture of both Gemini's and China's market in bitcoin picking up... I read somewhere that yesterday there were like a million coins being moved around or something of the sort.  With those kind of transactions, it's always going to be a good day for bitcoin Smiley
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 15, 2015, 05:18:36 PM
From what I understand the term socialist as he uses it doesn't mean someone who wants the state to control all business.  Instead it refers to a nation where the state offers strong public services and care for all citizens at the cost of higher taxes.

From what I have seen, this is the path that many very wealthy and happy European countries are on, and one that we will eventually have to transition to as the robo-pacalypse destroys almost all jobs.

I think it's silly to think he means that Communist Russia was a superior form of government.

I would like to hear his opinions on our spiraling debt situation and cryptocurrency though.  I would like to think he would be supportive of technology, but if he's anti-crypto that would kill the prestigious "Americanpegasus Presidential Endorsement" (considering I've successfully called the results of every presidental election since 2000). Wink

Well I don't think that question will every be asked to him, or better yet responded in full by him right now, especially when he's trying to win a majority of Americans votes... and the fact that most Americans don't know/don't care what cryptos are, is not helping.  Not to mention, that it is highly unlikely for a political reporter to know about them either, or would want to question Bernie about it.

As for your three in a row correct presidential predictions.. that's pretty impressive AP. Did you call those predictions during the primaries, or when the two final candidates are duking it out?
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: October 15, 2015, 05:14:10 PM
i think bitcoin must stay for a long long time beacuse its important, to buy somthing from the dark net its very usefull

Even though bitcoins can be used for purchasing things on the dark net, it shouldn't be known/limited to just being used for that.  People have to realize that it's just a more convenient/more reasonable form of currency that is limited in numbers, not like the private banks just printing out money out of no where...

There are so many possibilities for bitcoin, and I hate that it's just seen relevant by most people as a way to pay drug lords on tor.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 15, 2015, 03:11:29 PM

Why would you want Bernie Sanders to be at the forefront of Monero? Bernie isn't at all the poster child for this, because it would be against the Feds and private banks, which I would believe, that he is good with... Plus he's socialist, I thought the majority of XMR folks here were libertarians... spying and analysing your data is going to be his specialty.

Beat me to it.  I was also going to say while Paul is sympathetic to Bitcoin, and would likely approve of Monero even more, Sanders would hate both as they would fundamentally attack his entire worldview.

Thing is they fundamentally attack the worldview of almost ALL politicians except for kooks (sic) like Paul.

It's actually an interesting point from a speculation vantage.  One that comes up a lot... but is worth continuing to consider.  Governments do not like Bitcoin.  And they will HATE Monero.

And not only that, but the thing is , is that the governments shouldn't hate Monero because we have view keys that allow their auditors to audit businesses and for taxing reasons..

It's just that I know FOR A FACT Mr. Sanders won't be for the Monero ship "to da moon"... He's perfectly happy with hacking into the data on your phone/computer to make sure all of us "goys" are being safe.

Edit: http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/256865-sanders-would-absolutely-end-nsa-spying

Well It's not like I italicized and underlined "for a fact"... Roll Eyes

But I just don't see how a very socialist person could be the person we want for president... I mean in this aspect, maybe he's the best candidate out there who would take NSA's spying program into account who actually has a shot at winning.

What the hell??  I just posted this topic on here last night, and when I woke up it was gone...

Anyways, I think this is really cool.. but won't get much attention from the media, until they actually do find radio frequencies, and/if the government won't shut them up in time for them not to go public with the discovery.

It's a great start, thank you  Cheesy, but we eventually need it shooped onto a flashing rainbow background with the words IT'S HAPPENING.

972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of Money on: October 15, 2015, 04:40:11 AM
“Tangible money, old-fashioned money … is a phantom from the past, an anachronism. In its place is an entirely new form of money based not on metal or paper, but on technology, mathematics, and science. This new ‘megabyte’ money is creating a new and different world wherever it proceeds. Money now is an image.”
-snip-
There is huge problem with money 'created' by science, mathematics and existing only on technological plane of cyberspace.
They need POWER to be viable. That is making them simply not usable in certain situations. I doubt if we'll ever switch to 'virtual' currency without
solving this 'source of energy' problem.

Wouldn't you say that solar power would be the next source of power that would solve this problem?  I could see the next big mining farm, incorporating a way to use solar panels for mining rigs. It would be expensive for the initial investment... but it will be one hell of a good one in the long run of things IMO.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/forget-water-on-mars-astronomers-may-have-just-found-giant-alien-megastructures-orbiting-a-star-near-a6693886.html

Quote
A large cluster of objects in space look like something you would "expect an alien civilization to build", astronomers have said.

Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University, is set to publish a report on the “bizarre” star system suggesting the objects could be a “swarm of megastructures”, according to a new report.

I was fascinated by how crazy it looked,” Wright told The Atlantic. “Aliens should always be the very last hypothesis you consider, but this looked like something you would expect an alien civilization to build.”

 Shocked Shocked Shocked

In the near future, they also want to try and point a radio dish in the direction of the star and see if they can detect any radio frequencies that a typical advanced civilization might use.  This could be absolutely nuts if they can somehow confirm this.
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of Money on: October 15, 2015, 03:57:59 AM
People will always seek some sort of currency to trade with others. Prisoners use cigarettes, canned fish. People in zimbabwe used rand or usd when their currency collapsed.

You seemed to have forgotten to mention toilet wine... prisoners love toilet wine... and soap on a rope. High value commodities there. Roll Eyes
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 15, 2015, 03:53:09 AM
I've met Aubrey several times actually. Cool dude! I've also been in attendance at the first Singularity Summit in SF back in 2006. It seems to me we are now in the first part of the "knee of the curve" of Kurzweil's exponential (law of accelerating returns). The steep part of the knee of the curve should come once some of these experiments with deep learning and machine learning advance further. These advancements in AI is what will fuel the breakthroughs in aging and nanotechnology in the the mid to late 2020's. We may get to super intelligent AI's by the mid 2030s.

By 2020 I'm thinking 1 XMR to be worth 0.2 BTC

I wonder how these super-intelligent AIs in 2035 will value XMR vs BTC.

Super intelligent AI will be smart enough not to try to independently value things. It will understand that value is subjective. Therefore, I guess it will just trade with the most liquid currency that it can get its hands on. But if humans try to cheat the AI and steal money from it (because government fiat can be seized and invalidated) then it will be forced to use cryptocurrency because a super intelligent AI can safely hold cryptocurrency and store it encrypted in the cloud without fear of losing it to humans.

So I'm kind of lost... Why would AI's value XMR or BTC? What do cryptocurrencies possess that would make AI's want to acquire them?  I feel like if humans were to be able to make an AI, I wouldn't want it to walk around or conduct any business.. I would just want it to sit there and, I guess, think for me?  Idk, I wasn't really into SciFi stuff when I was a kid.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: October 15, 2015, 03:44:18 AM
If someone which follows the set of rules and be discipline enoff. Can people make 50-100 $ a day just gambling in online casino.....?

i think so, it will be possible to earn like that daily especially when you are lucky enough and you know when to stop. but still, it's gambling and you may lose $50 or more daily depending on your greed. its all about the luck Tongue

I'm not so sure about that.. there are a lot of online casinos that offer skill based games like texas hold'em and sports betting, hell, even some start ups on the forum gives us some skill based games like agar.io . So maybe if you get really good at one of those (maybe even marginal trading) then you might be able to do that.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Getting a living from Gmabling alone is possible? on: October 15, 2015, 03:39:22 AM
There's a lot of professional gamblers living only out of gambling. At least there are a lot of professional poker players ( like Negreanu) that make a life out of it.

I don't think may people will make their life from gambling unless they have a lot money from their parents so they can spend that money on gambling and in that process some times they may win some big money. But if any one try to become a full time gambler with their hard earned money then very difficult to survive for long time.

Yeah I mean it's very difficult, but not impossible by any means.  The friend I referenced too above didn't have the money of his parents. I don't think any good parent would enable their kids to do that, but I'm not quite sure... He had a part time job for some time and just managed to keep on winning and getting better at poker. But I would not recommend anyone trying to do what he did, it was just cool to watch all of that happen and to see him succeed in his hobby/addiction..
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: October 15, 2015, 03:35:41 AM
We should not leave Bitcoin even if prices drop.
Bitcoin's acceptancy will keep grow, feel secure.

There are no assurances that we will see a big boom in terms of adoption. If the prices drop, some may panic sell, miners might leave the scene. You see, most people came in this community after ATH or after bitcoin hit mainstream news, and most are after profits. If bitcoin is not profitable any more, I doubt there would be more people like what we have today that are going to be interested in using bitcoins.

I'm not so sure about that... I mean sure, there are plenty of miners who do this for maybe a hobby and would like to see some profit come out of it... those are the people you are talking about who might leave.  But there are a lot of people who own and run bitcoin mining farms who invested thousands, and maybe even millions of dollars in equipment to mine this stuff.  So to say that if bitcoin's prices were to drop heavily for a while and maybe even stay there for a couple months, isn't an ensured reason that everyone will just pack up and leave bitcoin forever... there's just simply too much time, money, and effort invested into this thing.
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 15, 2015, 03:27:01 AM
--snip--
Everyone wants Bitcoin to do something it simply can't accomplish in a few years. Bitcoin will eventually be version 1.0 and ready to take on the world but it might take two generations to do it.

Absolutely, and the reason for that is, whether we like to admit it or not, we are still under the dominance of the baby boomer generation (throwing in some of the 60's kids) ... They are not the type of people that are up for a "change" just because it's so late in their life, and are riding out their end days.  When you are at that point, you don't want to see an exciting new idea that can revolutionize everything we do on a day to day basis.  I think it makes them feel like they are going to miss out on something when they're gone.

I mean, I feel like the majority of bitcoin users are around the ages of 16-30 and are just now equally up corporate ladders to figuratively take the torch from the previous generation to start running things and to make a change in the way we see fit.  Maybe this will be one of the things we will leave our future generations to help develop, along with selfie sticks, facebook, meme's, and instagram accounts Roll Eyes

Citizens taking control of their labor (money) away from governments is the next natural step towards true equality and freedom but changing attitudes takes time. People knew in 1860s America that black opression was wrong but it took 100 years for any real measure of equality to be realized. Change happens slowly, even if it's the right thing to do.

I just hope by that point in time, with a stable crypto, that governments will be able to function accordingly, stable.  There always is some need for taxation, because there needs to be some form of regulation; there is just no easy way to by pass that part.  We need roads, schools, etc. etc. ... But what we don't need are wars to improve the value of a currency (dollar) or shady inflation rates controlled by a small group of old wealthy white men.  Everything needs to hit a point of homeostasis, where governments and their citizens can collaborate with other countries in a very easy going, free flowing of ideas, type of fashion.
980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of Money on: October 15, 2015, 03:19:01 AM
cash are bound to disappear eventually, not because of bitcoin, but because of their own issues with governments, which are known already

bitcoin is not even in match vs cash but vs electronic payment in general, i only really doubt that bitcoin would be the king, i could see it working side by side with other forms of payment

Couldn't agree more... More and more people are coming to realize the problems we have with a centralized bank issuing money out of then air to lend to banks.  It just becomes a matter of time before people will realize that cryptos are the way to go, because it's a finite currency that can be transferred anywhere.  The main obstacles to over come would be tx times, fungibility, and the fact that people will really have to over come the fear of not possessing cold hard cash.

I think there will be other cryptos out there in the future that can provide those quick tx times, and then another one that can provide the secure fungible crypto.  Bitcoin will be mainly valuable in the far future, I think, as the "gold standard" these cryptos depend on for a "pricing" or to see how much purchasing power it has... because I believe in the far future, bitcoin will become the very stable and highly priced crypto which ideally represents gold itself.
