To be fair, there are many reasons why someone may not want to buy via this forum even with an escrow. I think the uncertainties are more than just price. It's silly to expect it to launch anywhere close to ETH though, but I wouldn't completely guarantee a price of below 65 cents because no one bought escrows here.

The difference between Bitcoin and Litecoin is very small. However, the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum is huge.

Nope that isn't true. The reason they had Shapeshift in the ICO was to allow to buy LISK with other cryptocurrencies instead of Bitcoin. Since the ICO coins are just IOUs and not real tokens, they don't need to be on any exchange. Once the 'real' coin gets released, they need to be listed on an exchange, and shapeshift won't work without the largest exchanges either.

I can't seem to find the link now, but there was a place on Poloniex where you could request new coins and vote on which ones should be added to the exchange. If they take long to add WAVES, perhaps the community can rally over there to bring it to their attention.

Initial reception is hard to predict, especially on low liquidity. My guess is a few exchanges will list Lisk right off the bat. It will either plunge or skyrocket there. However, as established exchanges like Poloniex start adding it, it will become more stable.

I see your point, but LISK will have a long way to go before people look at it as a hedge against ETH. Not saying it can't or won't happen, just that it is a long way away.

The relationship between alts and BTC isn't holding strong the last few months. Do you not feel that this inverse relationship is kinda breaking down? It has been +ve and -ve throughout - sometimes +ve for alts when BTC rallies as it legitimizes the whole space.

Sounds like a terribly risky strategy. Why would you want to put all your BTC into Waves that too without hesitation? Diversify folks!

But if ETH consolidates its position before LISK launches, wouldn't people have less incentive to buy LISK instead of ETH? These things have strong first-moved advantages.

Also, why do you want BTC to go sideways in the meantime? What's going to happen if BTC rallies too?

That's good to know. Please make sure your "other rules" do not include heavy censorship. Too many new coins fall into that trap of thinking if they can suppress dissenting views, it is somehow better.

This is most likely incorrect. Why spread such baseless rumors? There are better uses for the money raised.

It will be a fiat-backed token that Mycelium will support, so you can spend "1 Waves-USD" online as you'd spend BTC or waves. I don't think it will be interchangeable with anything else.

This would be tangential to crypto ICOs/token sales. I don't think any crypto could enter into the regulated world just yet - that's at least 5 years out. However, if more people are comfortable with the idea of putting a little bit of money in risky startups, then it might be good for the ICO market in general, as more people are willing and able to invest. In any case, I don't see this having a material impact either way.

Yeah, so the total market capitalization will be around 15% higher than what's raised in the ICO. That's generally a good thing, as it keeps dilution low after the ICO.
