981  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: August 28, 2023, 09:45:00 PM
The results aren't quite different but if we talk about how comfortable we are when using a phone vs a laptop, it is totally different. Traders have made a choice to have a wider screen for a comfortable view and choose a laptop/PC for some research. However, if you are still found doing with the phone just like with my friend, that is still okay as long as the results seem good. But for me, I prefer to have a bigger screen because I feel that I can perform better than using my phone.
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: August 27, 2023, 05:33:34 AM
Few years ago, didn’t though that bnb could reach such milestone as it is 3rd most invested altcoin in crypto world. But most of exchange tokens are fall down for being useless (only use for discounting exchange fee) as well as after exchange get hacked. So what do you think about bnb in next 5years?
Is it really worth for long investment?  Will it increase like ether or become dump like others exchange coins?
It happened because BNB did the best thing it could do and show it to the community its value and use case, unlike other exchange tokens that are just useless which people have noticed it and supported BNB. We can say it was a great achievement already for Binance coin but of course, they aren't confident enough about their reach because we know how tough the market competition by now. They need to still work hard in order to keep the momentum and remain in their current position.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Another red day on: August 25, 2023, 01:20:55 PM
It is a red day still and more people are in panic, well, I hope they will think before selling.
We're not sure how long the situation will changege but yes, I was still positive and of course, I was thinking of the current situation as an opportunity for those who are not buying yet. Perhaps, this is time because after this we possibly surging high due to possible increase in demand as the BER months are coming and also, considering the halving will happen next year.

I was certain that where not heading to another bear season but for green day.

984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 25, 2023, 12:23:32 PM

I know it might be very hard to save money in a gambling site because we  might have the feelings of winning if we try to stake, it can be hard for a gambler to save money in a gambling site but it will be easy for a non gambler, I put in mind that everything start one day so even a non gambler can try at the first, I bring this discussion here so we can discuss about it to keep our selfs busy.
I don't know where you hear that because no non-gambler will deposit their money into gambling site for just saving reason but sure, either they gamble that money or something there is illegal, just a sort of mixing address. But talking into considering gambling site as storage wallet, you will find it wrong and not really a good idea. In fact, for me, once I win I withdraw my winnings because I don't want to keep it their knowing the risk even it was reputable site. You must have to think it several time before doing this.
985  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a viable option for newcomers? on: August 25, 2023, 11:44:28 AM
Copy trading has gained immense popularity in the crypto industry since its introduction. Bitget, being one of the pioneers in this field, remains one of the largest platforms for copy trading cryptocurrencies. Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?

I believe that copy trading is a bit pointless unless you are 100 percent sure that you want to trust a total stranger not to make losses more than profits. Personally, I would not trust anyone or anything other than myself to do my trading.

The best thing for a newbie to do is to practice with test coins on a testnet. There are even good testnets for derivatives trading, once you get the hang of spot trading.

Personally I prefer deribit testnet . But there are others.
Well, you have some point but as we are talkng about learning trading, something to say that we can gain some idea from that way. Of course, we can't keep reliant on this as we continue but for me, this serves as a stepping to stone. If we can't get more ideas from copy trading, well, at least we already have gain experience which can also be used as we continue our journey. Because being a newbie to trading doesn't mean we have to learn fast and profit fast. Being a newbie means we are just adopting the new environment and certainly, we lose money because whatever you do or any strategies, we still end up losing but at the same time we are also learning.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 25, 2023, 10:47:47 AM
Yeah, Courtside 1891 is official streaming of tournament. It works well, but it's not cheap. Don't remember exact price, but there you will get all games in high quality and English commentary. You also can check on Wiki local TV braodcasters for each country
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_FIBA_Basketball_World_Cup_broadcasting_rights
I can't find the price range for the subscription fee on the site you recommended. Maybe it's necessary to sign up first before we can see the prices. Anyway, if that's expensive, then I guess I would just rely on free streams. I think there are plenty out there, right? Has anyone here been able to watch free streams during the last FIBA World Cup?
I just saw a $37 subscription fee annually, I'm not sure though if this is a legit rate.
Though it says there that you can actually subscribe for free and get free updates, though its not live but still you just have to sign up on their site. I'm not trying this one since our national television with have its live telecast, we're lucky for this.
Thanks, mate! That was a cheap option, but since someone has already shared a free streaming link, I'll just forget about that site, hehe. The game will start in an hour and 15 minutes, so are you guys already excited?

There haven't been many changes in the betting odds and spread; you can still get an attractive 5.80 odds for Gilas to win.

Let's place a small bet to have some fun, guys!
987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Instead of Gold? on: August 25, 2023, 10:28:43 AM
The answer to a debate that is constantly discussed on social media accounts and news outlets may open doors to different answers for everyone. So, Why Bitcoin Instead of Gold for you?

If this topic has been discussed before, I would appreciate it if you could enlighten me.
Honestly, I'm taking them both but I'm investing more on Bitcoin for one reason?
I choose Bitcoin because of it profitablity rate compared to gold. Despite the risk, I was still on the positive side thinking that I can handle the risk and can manage stress that I was going to faced.

Nevertheless, I couldn't say that I'll taking this kind of investment forever. I was still continue buying some gold and grow it slowly as I consider this as my lifetime investment. But as long as Bitcoin is still profitable these days, it takes more chunks from my investment capital than gold.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Airdrop Scam on Trust Wallet via Links on: August 25, 2023, 10:02:20 AM
This isn't new and likely these airdrops are done automatically when  these malicious actors see if you're have an active wallet being involved on airdrops as well. Good thing crypto wallets these days have that feature to hide these lousy tokens on your wallet so always update it and exercise the necessary procedures to secure your wallet.
Unfortunately many hunters are still falling into this trap despite of old tactics of the scammers.
Scammers are also adopting the trend so if you will not care on clicking links you might become a victim. Hackers and scammers are all over the cryptospace, this is not new to see them hunting the hunters so if you are into airdrop don't be greedy to participate on airdrop, better to do your own research first.
Perhaps they already who's their target and for sure, those greedy people will fall into their traps. Yes, indeed we all are aware of this dirty tactics but some people are still blind not to see behind those sweet promises. That is why we can't rid these scammers out from crypto space because as long as there are people who fall into their trap, they still remain active in here. Now, it was on our part to decide whether we are going to participate airdrops or just leave and ignore them.

990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 25, 2023, 02:22:04 AM
If it happens two years from now when Canelo is in the twilight of his career then I'll go for Crawford but if this happens in May of next year then no doubt I'll go for Canelo as Crawford is just too small for him, I mean he needs at least 2-3 fight to prove his worth on the 168lbs division. I think he is just calling Canelo as this is a money fight for him of the latter took the bait.

We might want to note that Canelo is younger than Crawford. Canelo is almost 3 years his junior. If this dream fight happens two years from now, Canelo is indeed approaching the twilight of his career. Crawford, on the other hand, is already approaching 40. Age is probably one of the reasons why Spence was running away and delaying his fight against Crawford. That's an off-topic opinion, though.

It would be an amazing moment in boxing's history if this fight takes place, especially if the two remain on a winning streak when the match happens. Crawford will, however, prove his worth in 154 first. If he proves to be effective and natural in this weight, and wins fights, then he could allow his body to continue gaining weight and reach 168. But he shouldn't be confronting Canelo right away. It would be the same process. If he proves that he can handle the weight naturally, without compromising his movements, quick responses, and so on, then he could face Canelo.

As to their physical stats, they're pretty much the same. Crawford has, of course, a longer reach though.

Canelo struggled against Mayweather, who is a good defender and quicker as well. Probably, Crawford sees the weaknesses of Canelo, as although he has power, he can be outboxed, as was evident in the fight against Bivol. The match might be even in the eyes of the fans. Although Crawford is not fighting in his comfortable weight, given his achievements, his undefeated record, and the hype generated when he beat Spence in a one-sided beatdown, all these factors will come into play.

For now, Canelo still has business to take care of. It might be a bit early to discuss, but at least we can have an open discussion about the possibility of this fight happening. I'm sure both camps are eager to make this happen, as it could be the biggest payday for both fighters. Who knows, they might even surpass the PPV revenue generated by Mayweather in his fights.

As fans, it would really satisfy us to see the best fighters in the ring, with no excuses or dodging. They will prove who is the best.

To be fair with Canelo, he as sort of a rookie that time and Mayweather was at his prime that's why Canelo really looks amateurish agains the defensive Floyd that he can't hit him with power punches.

We will see, yes he has Charlo up on his plate, but everyone is giving Charlo a slim chance to beat Canelo Alvarez. And once Alvarez won, we will see if he is willing to fight Crawford or will PBC have him fight another boxer like Benavidez or even Jermall Charlo, the original Charlo that he should have fight.

That wasn't because canelo didn't have enough experience.  Floyd embarrassed everyone.  Hate him or love him he was one of the best boxers of all time.  And don't give me he was a defensive see boxer and was boring at times.  That was by design, boxing is a stretch sport and Floyd used this to his advantage.  Dude always ended the fight without looking like he got touched.

While I agree that Canelo was defeated fairly and squarely and Floyd embarrassed him and everyone else, I would never agree that he's one of the best boxers of all time. Props to him for winning all of his professional fights and for ending many of his fights as if he hadn't been touched, but that's not enough for me to put him on the pedestal of the best boxers of all time. He's not even close to the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez.

My personal opinion of the sport of boxing is that it isn't just about winning. I put weight on it being a combat sport. I know that defense is part of any fighting sport, but hurting the opponent is probably the main goal in boxing. For me, winning and winning in an explosive fashion is what makes a boxer a great boxer. Respect to him, of course, for being undefeated, but the way he fights doesn't make him one of the greatest of all time.

Canelo's style could not beat Floyd's, even when both of them were in their prime. Personally, I believe the only boxer who gave Floyd problems and could have beaten him, if not for biased judges, was Maidana. He frustrated Floyd with his style, as his punches came from unusual angles, and Floyd's defense was less effective during that time. But anyway, that's in the past already. Floyd remained unbeaten and retired, still being known for his defensive approach, which some found boring.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: August 24, 2023, 09:47:40 PM
Well, I'm not saying that I wasn't buying any more with these some of the top altcoins but of course, I can't have it all. Because it was not necessary to have them all if our targets are just ETH and BNB? It is not buying but because we don't have enough capital to invest and take all these top altcoins. Besides, our goal is to earn a huge profit so I think, it makes no sense to hold these altcoins that weren't performing well even though they belong to the top altcoins like XRP and many others.
992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: August 24, 2023, 01:06:33 PM
Bitcoin is a store of value,  it can converted from one currency to another without losing any value.  Their are other physical form in which people can consider to be a better way to store their assets,  but getting it done it can take expenses that will make the asset lose value. The potential to make good gain out of an asset without losing its initial value proves the worth of the asset and this is exactly what bitcoin is as a good store of value .
Those who invest in Bitcoin always believe in the increasingly strong growth of Bitcoin, they hope that the allocated money stored in Bitcoin can provide financial growth in the future. The convenience and other advantages possessed by Bitcoin allow Investors to be more comfortable saving money in the form of Bitcoin. If it is called a store of value, it may be less effective because of the constant fluctuations, 1 Bitcoin will still be 1 Bitcoin, while the price will continue to change depending on the value traded on a given day.
Bitcoin is not a stablecoin coin whose value is always stable, you will get a big profit if the value increases in the future.

Because what is in their mind is that if buy Bitcoin and hold it for many years, they earn more profit and can possibly make them rich.
Well, that was a sort of assumption but can be possible which is why many people become interested in this. Unfortunately, they'll never that storing Bitcoin is too risky whether their wallet gets hacked and lose everything, or it is possible that many years from now the price of Bitcoin will be back to $1000.
This is one reason why I'd stop people from calling it a store of value because we never know exactly what will happen next.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 24, 2023, 12:28:01 PM
Here are the current odds for that particular game:

Moneyline:
Pilipinas 5.50
Dominican Republic 1.15
Spread: +10.5

Are you gonna take the moneyline or the spread?

I think we need to carefully consider this, especially if we are betting a significant amount of money. We still have plenty of time, as the game will commence tomorrow evening. Thus, we can conduct our own research before risking our money. If we bet now, we might be basing our decision on emotions. Of course, we will support the Philippines no matter what. However, if we don't find any value or advantage, putting a small amount would be sufficient, I guess.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: August 24, 2023, 11:20:13 AM
Interesting to note though that the fight is going to be in Japan. So Jerwin will have to travel to the Inoue's homecourt and try to get back that belt.

I hope his knockout win against Wilner Soto is enough for him to get back the confidence that I think he lost when he lost twice to Fernando Daniel Martinez. Though this fight will take place in Japan, i have high hopes that Jerwin will redeem himself and win this fight as Takuma is not as talented as his brother. If he loses this one then I think he will have to consider changing a job, trainer, and done with boxing.

It's good to know that he won via TKO in his last fight. He really needed that KO/TKO win against Takuma Inoue, who is currently the champion, as we cannot trust the judges who are on their home court. This is why some boxers do not fight outside their country, due to the possibility that the fight result might be manipulated. Ancajas was once hyped as a boxer, but his two losses made him disappear for a while from the championship discussions. So, it's time for him to come back by beating the brother of Inoue. Who knows, he might even become a unified or undisputed champion in the bantamweight division.
995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Current scare affect the decision making of starters. on: August 24, 2023, 10:26:41 AM
Can't blame starters to get scared about the current condition of bitcoin since no one like to see how the market move in negative direction but they should know that there are some ways that can make them avoid losses and that is.

It seems not to wonder and I understand why because if you are also in their position, fear and worry could be in your mind as well. But because we are already exposed to this kind of situation, we know what we are going to do next and that is to hold and calm.
Perhaps they will know when they will find it and if they'll think differently. Many newbies have already done the research, they are new yes but their understanding is quite huge already. This is a huge advantage when you do a dip research before investing in something. It is very important and for us not to get surprised by whatever will happen in the market.
996  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a life by Day Trading on: August 23, 2023, 10:39:06 PM
I am also learning to get trading for a living, but until now even though I already have theory and techniques and chart reading, I am still at war with my psychology which is still very unstable. even though I know what I shouldn't do, I still get used to breaking it, so it ends badly. I don't know, although I often learn to control myself, but in fact it's difficult and hasn't been successful until now. It turns out that it is not easy for day trading, because you have to master complex knowledge to respond to market movements every day
Trading is actually not for everyone. You may understand that chart and how to trade but psychologically you are not sound, your well being will be affected. The essence of working is to have a good life. So, it doesn't make sense to take up work that will give you money and destabilise your health.
That is also because not all are emotionally strong, many are easily affected by the market changes and badly respond to them. No matter how knowledgeable we are but if we are still too emotional, it still never works well and is not profitable, instead of losses.
And I would say that trading is not an easy job but if we work hard and practice to be more focused on our goal and keep stronger, everything will work well.
 - consistency, focus, and emotionally strong And if we have these things, earning every day is possible and this is how traders become rich.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. on: August 23, 2023, 09:50:54 PM
Yes i am fully agree with you. Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. Because Crypto currency market is always unpredictable. Anytime can happen anything. And anytime can move Bitcoin price. So we shouldn’t wait for bottom. For this DCA is better i think. We can buy bitcoin in every down then price will be reasonable and loss will be reduce. If we able to DCA then we well be profitable there has no doubt. Because Bitcoin price will must up. Now Bitcoin Price is  near about $26k and In 2021 Bitcoin price was $69k that whit was ATH till now. So i thik anyone shouldn’t wait for bottom.
Usually, investors have thought that once the market is in the correction phase, they then think about the bottom price and wait before buying. But this is not a great idea, this is the reason why we miss buying the low price. Many times I've tried doing and because of the volatility of the market, it was hard to say that if it dumped today, it would still dump tomorrow as sometimes the course had changed already and we then missed the chance.

~snip~
What do you think of the final 12 guys?

This is the best roster we have, and we need to utilize it. Honestly, I have a few doubts about whether we can really compete. I believe the coaching job will be more important in this game. However, it's a good thing that Coach Tim Cone is beside Coach Chot; maybe he will have a say sometimes, making the coaching even better.

The selected players are very athletic: Malonzo, Abando, and Thompson. These guys will bring good energy to the team. Malonzo could be like Gabe Norwood, who is strong defensively. Let's see his contribution.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 23, 2023, 12:23:25 PM
Inoue is still approaching to be the undisputed champion at 122 and it might take a year or two before he can accomplish that including his mandatory title defense if he chose to have some before moving up towards another weight class again. While Tank Davis, I don't know what are his plans but considering his weight and age, he might jump towards another weight class as well in a year or two.

Inoue vs Davis is a dream match, but I have a feeling that Inoue will be listed as the underdog, which I like as a fan. Inoue hasn't had a lot of fights in the US, so I think he needs to introduce himself first in the US to become more popular. Although we can say that he is already popular now, as he is in the top 3 of the pound-for-pound rankings, it would be great if American fans could see Inoue in a big fight in the US.
1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: August 23, 2023, 11:41:33 AM
Last bull run was 2021 and after that, altcoins price dumped a lot. In 2022, we noticed a little pump and in this year 2023, altcoins pumped a lot, if compare altcoins price chart after end of bull run.           So have you able to gained anything after the end of last bull run? Or last bull run makes you dumped and you are still trying to regain what you have lost?
Well, doesn't really huge compared to the bull season but still, it was okay knowing that it was hard to make a good profit during the bear season. Because of what I did after selling my coins during the bull season, I'd started to accumulate and hold. Sometimes I sell some but the majority is on buying and holding as I wait for the next bull season. That is why I don't consider 2022 and 2023 is a profitable but rather I consider this as an accumulation year in anticipating the upcoming Bullrun.
