1561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost half of my crypto amount! what to do? on: October 16, 2018, 07:09:32 PM
So I basically got fomoed. Towards the end of 2017 I saw how high bitcoin skyrocketed and decided to invest in ripple as a test. Less than one week it went up 3x. This made me more ballsy and I put in 11k total in various other alt coins like ripple, ethos, tron, and cardano. After the crash I lost about half of my value just like that. I am frustrated with the experience and wish I would have just put in 1k or something. I wish I could just not invested and went into what I was doing earlier which was just investing the boring and traditional way. Should I wait and hodl or pull out and do something else?
While you did not sell the coins you indicated at a cheap price, you still have not lost anything. We have never thought that our coins will constantly grow in value. There is time for growth, but after that there will definitely be a recession, after which it will again be replaced by growth. Therefore, you need to be patient, despite the fact that the period of decline has already dragged on for almost a year. Moreover, the coins you named are very promising, the market will grow and these coins will bring good profits.
1562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still support Ethereum, if Vitalik left it? on: October 16, 2018, 06:58:33 PM
If Buterin had left his project, nothing would have happened. A good team has already formed there, and ethereum as a cryptocurrency is already completely self-sufficient. However, Acne is not going to leave anywhere and a refutation has already been published with reference to his words.
For now, I expect that the emerging improvements will be implemented in ethereum. I hope that this will happen in the coming months and this coin will acquire new functionality and new life.
1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are The Bulls Back? on: October 15, 2018, 08:42:04 PM
The market seems to be green again. There's a lot momentum around some coins at the moment. EOS, ETH, IOTA, and so many other coins are significantly well. Even King BTC hit $7k and it has stayed above it for the most part of today. Is it same to say the bearish market situation is over and the bulls back in business to dominate the market?
The growth of the cryptocurrency market will be vseravno. We expect it to grow already in these last months of this year. However, many already agree that by the end of this year one cannot expect a substantial growth in the market. After such a long period of stagnation, Bitcoin is unlikely to be able to quickly grow in value. Therefore, if growth will be, it is not as significant as we expected earlier. Some believe that the return of Bitcoin to the price of $ 20,000 can occur no earlier than in a year or two. I think it will be sooner.
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BOUNTY CAMPAIGN ?? on: October 15, 2018, 08:28:14 PM
Inactive bounty manager or no update in the spreadsheets means that the project is not serious about what they are doing.
There is a big possibility that this kind of projects will end up scamming in the end of the campaign so as you are still a beginner you should avoid this kind of projects.

These kind of projects are only a waste of time.
Yes, quite often it happens that if the bounty campaign manager does not keep the tables and does not put in the earned steaks for a week, then in the future one cannot count on payments in such a campaign. Most likely you will be deceived. I try not to join such an ICO bounty campaign. It is also necessary to take into account that for various reasons the forum periodically deletes our messages and if the manager counts them at the end of the campaign, then many weeks of work will not be counted due to the fact that there will not be a minimum number of messages per week.
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters are a job? on: October 15, 2018, 08:14:18 PM
Do you think bounty hunters are a job in your spare time, additional income or is it the main job and the main income of people?
This is how you want it. You can use ICO's generosity campaigns as an additional source of income, or you can, depending on your situation, make them your main job. It all depends on your desires and capabilities. However, it must be remembered that the cryptocurrency does not bring a steady income, especially this concerns the campaign of generosity ICO. We see that this year the cryptocurrency in general very few people made a profit because of the general fall in the cryptocurrency market. Therefore, it is best to engage in campaigns of generosity ICO as an extra income to their main job.
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My thoughts on bounty rewards on: October 13, 2018, 03:03:36 PM
I still don't get the main reason why people picks on the bounty hunter that they dump their coin whenever they received them.
My question is why do you have to complain on me selling or holding, do you have to decide what a worker should do with his or her earned money as if you both share same bills.

And if possible that their are a lot of dumper which partake in a particular bounty maybe just 60% of them in a 1% share of the total supply, so someone should explain affect the market price.

You guys just have to let we hunters be and sell at our convenient time.
I also consider the charges against bounty hunters that they are guilty of lowering the price of a new token after transferring it to the stock exchange are untenable. This topic is generally contrived, since bounty hunters, due to the small amount of tokens they receive for their work, cannot significantly affect the reduction of their price. On the other hand, each bounty hunter has the right to dispose of the received tokens at his discretion.
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid ICO scam on: October 13, 2018, 02:50:31 PM
I mean, is there an exact list of rules that could guarantee that someone who follows them will surely not become a victim of another ICO scam. Of course there are obvious rules like event participation, reputation of team members among ather prifessionals, approve by well-known advisors. But potential scammers also know all these criteria and know what to fake exactly.

Is there a 'blockchain way' to create an algorithm, scheme or set of conditions allowing to recognise and ban scammers? Not government laws way which also good for the market in my opinion.

Would be appreciate a link to an old thread, perhaps I just didn't find it.

UPD Best Advices:
  • learn about previous ICO projects, select viable ones and participate similar ICOs
  • invest in an ICO with a working prototype only

Whatever you do, but almost no one is immune from fraudsters in ICO projects. Outwardly, they look perfectly normal, legitimate and interesting in terms of their prospects. In many cases, we cannot check the members of the ICO team, because we have no law enforcement capabilities. Yes, and they will need more than one month of checks, because they will have to check information all over the world. There are only general recommendations, but they can not guarantee anything.
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is how much money has been lost because of hacking on: October 13, 2018, 02:40:49 PM
The numbers are quite alarming. According to this Forbes article, while the number fluctuates based on the market price and the published amount at the author’s time of writing, these are the quoted amounts that have been lost due to hacks as well as human error.

DAO - $53 million
Bitfinex - $72 million
Parity - $30 million + $275 million
Mt. Gox $460 million
Coincheck $530 million

That’s over $1 billion that has been lost! Obviously, cryptocurrency is giving us specific challenges around protecting our assets. At the same time, this gives us the opportunity to push the limits of this technology in order to elevate our lives, right? What are your thoughts about this news?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesagencycouncil/2018/09/27/cryptocurrency-how-to-avoid-getting-hacked/#184495a14692

These figures apply only to hacking exchangers. And how many cryptocurrencies stolen by hackers from users' wallets. This figure is probably no less. Just these people are not particularly outraged. There is nobody to complain about. Moreover, they will be told that these were their miscalculations, it was necessary to think about the safety of their blowjob. But many do not know or do not know how to do it. It happens that circumstances are this way, that it is impossible to do this. The abduction of cryptocurrencies from wallets is one of the biggest problems. No matter how the technology is improved, hackers will find ways to hack it. Because of these hacks, it will not be safe for ordinary citizens to use cryptocurrency. This is one of the reasons why a cryptocurrency will not have too wide application in practice.
1569  Economy / Economics / Re: Politicians fear cryptocurrency because it will stop corruption. on: October 12, 2018, 08:30:03 PM
This is a false statement. Politicians are not afraid of cryptocurrency due to the fact that it can defeat corruption. Cryptocurrency in general is not capable of this. In addition, the politicians themselves can use cryptocurrency anonymity to take bribes in cryptocurrency. This is very convenient and it will be very difficult for law enforcement agencies to prove the commission of this crime.
Politicians fear the decentralization of cryptocurrencies, they cannot control it, and therefore lose their power over the people.
1570  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there any chance of having one global currency? on: October 12, 2018, 08:05:35 PM
Could you see a future wherein the entire world shares one global currency, be it fiat or crypto? If I think it in a scifi kind of way, it would most probably be some digital currency that could all just use. It doesn't even have to be in this century. Maybe the next?
Yes, it is quite possible that once the world will switch to the use of a single global currency. However, this will not be soon, because the world is not ready for this yet. All political and economic contradictions between states should disappear. I am not talking about wars, but also about the slightest local conflicts. What it will be for the currency, and whether it will be a cryptocurrency, it is too early to say now. In two hundred or three hundred years we shall see.
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will humanity stop using cash on: October 11, 2018, 07:24:54 PM
No, I think that all types of money - cash, non-cash money and cryptocurrency will exist simultaneously. The amount of cash will be reduced, but it is unlikely to be able to get rid of them completely.
No state will ever switch to the use of cryptocurrency, because the cryptocurrency can not be associated with the economy of a particular state.
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why does coins change price constantly? on: October 11, 2018, 07:12:40 PM
High price volatility is a feature of the entire cryptocurrency. Decentralized cryptocurrency is never constant in price, because it depends only on the ratio of supply and demand, but they cannot be permanent, because millions of people participate in the market and they all act in contradiction, at their discretion.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dying off? on: October 10, 2018, 06:51:53 PM
"September has seen the least amount of funds raised by #ICOs in more than a year. Are ICOs dying off?"

Chart here: https://twitter.com/Bancor/status/1049690978213404673
I do not think so. The reduction in the number of new ICO projects is explained by the fact that they see that now, in the conditions of the stagnation of the cryptocurrency market, most even promising projects fail due to poor investor activity. Therefore, they just wait for the right time to start their ICO. The market will grow and the number of new ICO projects will also increase. Therefore, this situation with a decrease in the number of new ICO projects is temporary.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of altcoins keep increasing! on: October 10, 2018, 06:40:34 PM
It does not matter, everyone can create a coin which is mostly useless and for nothing so it will keep rising, but good coins that will have impact on the industry also there.
So many useless altcoins everyday and I think we cannot stop them for creating shitcoins for now but I hope in the future we will see a more strict policy about creating coins. We must be careful and invest only with a good coins who has its own product already.
I think that the continued emergence of a variety of coins and tokens is good. Yes, a significant part of them will eventually leave the market as useless and only promising will remain. Such laws of the market. At the same time, investors need to understand more about new projects and they will learn from their own and others' mistakes. However, the only way cryptocurrency can develop.
I also think that you should not take any specific measures to reduce the number of new ICO projects. They need to be allowed to develop, but under the control of the state in order to reduce the appearance of fraud in these projects.
1575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin: I do not plan to leave Ethereum in the foreseeable future on: October 10, 2018, 06:17:25 PM
I am glad to hear this, because it seems to me that precisely because of the rumors that Buterin is leaving his ethereum project, this coin began to fall in price. If he previously simply expressed confidence that this coin will develop without him, then it is also good to hear. Now we can safely say that ethereum will grow in popularity. We look forward to introducing Casper and Plasma projects into this coin, as well as ethereum scalability up to hundreds of thousands of transactions per second.
1576  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-08] Bitcoin’s Low Volatility Might Mean Price Manipulation Is Waning on: October 08, 2018, 08:56:13 PM
Legislators and regulators might view Bitcoin’s price stabilization as a positive sign. Investors may also be more likely to see Bitcoin as a potential replacement of gold as a store of value.

https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoins-low-volatility-might-mean-price-manipulation-is-waning/

The current relative price stability of Bitcoin is very temporary. By its nature, bitcoin cannot be stable in price. If bitcoin really became stable, then the states would more quickly legalize it. The states already know that Bitcoin cannot be stable in price, which is why there is a problem with its legalization.
For this reason, Bitcoin can never replace gold.
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More people More volatility on: October 08, 2018, 08:38:15 PM
Bitcoin started off a tiny piece of plankton being sucked around by currents, maybe now it's a wee rowboat being smacked by the waves, by the time it's everywhere it'll be a supertanker with all the sluggishness that entails.

The more people and money that pour in, the steadier it becomes. One person who tries to initiate a major move will be eaten alive by thousands attempting to capitalise on it. In the great scheme of things volatility has barely wound down, but the potential number of people involved now may only be 1-2% of the future total.

I doubt it'll ever be steady enough for a pure BTC economy if people still have bills and costs to meet in USD, but then again I'm not convinced it'll ever be a currency.
Yes, most likely that the way it is. If a lot of people will participate in the cryptocurrency market, and the volume of transactions will increase, then people like Mt. Gox, having thrown 20,000 bitcoins into the market, it would have been very difficult to omit bitcoin in the price. Therefore, with an increase in the number of buyers and sellers in the cryptocurrency market, its price should be more stable. At the same time, I think that with an increase in the cost of Bitcoin, its volatility will also increase, since the amplitude of price fluctuations will allow it.
1578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto replaced with TOKEN.? on: October 06, 2018, 04:59:03 AM
Token cannot replace crypto

Token made from Ethereum blockchain, if Ethereum network got trouble it will impact to the token and of course you can't use your token for the transaction until the Ethereum network normal again...
yes I understand that, it is not real that the token will replace crypto. but in volume, Tokens have reduced crypto currency holders. I also understand that it is a transfer of securing assets. but each token always makes a pump and dump, so investors will not return to crypto before Bitcoin makes a big jump up. so investors return to real crypto.
The movement of investments between coins and tokens will always occur. However, tokens will not replace coins. There is no point or need. Most likely, the cryptocurrency will eventually have other, more advanced forms of its existence, and all this will go together until the older one has passed away by itself.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs gonna end someday ? on: October 06, 2018, 04:39:00 AM
I have one question that really bug me sometimes, Are ICOs going to end or new ideas and projects will emerge along with ICOs. Many of us actually rely on bounty to earn other than investing. As long as there is ICO I believe there will be bounty. It will be a sad day for us if ICOs are declared officially dead.
I think that ICO projects will still exist for a very long time, at least another ten years. And what will happen next is hard to say. Everything will depend on which way the further development of cryptocurrency will go. It is possible that the holding of an ICO will turn into some other form. So far we have the current form of ICO and we need to use the opportunity to participate in them.
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Signature Bounties for Newbies on: October 05, 2018, 06:08:59 PM
Newbies don't have and can not do signature bounty has your rank to have access to wear signature except if you get to Jr member with just 1merit as it require now ,so you need to write good post to get merit so you can belong to signature bounty Hunter.
I also understood that recent changes in relation to younger members who returned them to the rank of newcomers, if they didn’t have any merit, they could no longer technically join the ICO signature campaign due to the fact that such a signature would not be put . That is, now in fact novices cannot participate in ICO signature campaigns, even if the ICO team will provide such an opportunity. Innovation is quite controversial in essence. Its benefit or harm can be assessed over time.
