I dont need to add or repeat any of TryNinja and iasenko words in before this post and i dont know which of your posts is helping or giving some ideas to others.

To be frank, it is this forum that made the concept of bounty is here right now, without this forum, there will be no place that can make the bounties has the chance to be successful because they build their community here (some on other platform, but you got to admit this forum make it the biggest because it gives people works and money), so it is not the other way around like you had stated in your post. Without this forum, bounties are nothing, like, why the hell they advertise so much in this forum like making signature etc, because they know doing ads in this forum gives them money.

Well, there is nothing wrong on wanting to earn a few bucks on the side by joining a campaign, but the forum has set the rules and you need to play by the rules. No matter who you are. Simple as that.
162  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: August 13, 2018, 08:52:46 PM

Wow, did you really think that making a translate of any whitepaper is a contributing to a forum? Hard to say this but it is not. You only contribute for the bounty that has a chance of scamming people and you did that because the money staked on the job. Devoted trader? I guess you are here only for the insight of other traders because all people before me already checked your posts history.

I cant believe i met the day when people saying they are contributing while they only do something for their self and the money.
163  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: August 13, 2018, 07:54:45 PM
This whole merit thing is a pain for the bounty community. So I have to gather years worth of merit so I can be finally be taken seriously in bounty campaigns? Cmon.

Bounty hunter like you is the one this forum is trying to get rid off. You only search for an easy money in this forum and it is poisonous and contagious, there are more and more people like you registering to the forum and lurking for the money only.

Joining a campaign is a privilege, not a birth-right given to you since you join this forum. Bear with that. You can look at DdmrDdmr above on how he made quality posts and threads.
164  Other / Off-topic / Re: Finally a Sr. 😊 on: August 13, 2018, 06:58:03 PM
Congrats mdayonliner, such a well deserved rank for you. I hope you continue the works of contributing to the forum and may you never tired of it. More of people as an example for the people who think that merit is hard to achieve and only for the grandfathered account. Well you prove they wrong.

Congrats once again, i hope you dont use your merit for a sex.

ps. Maybe the title would be great if you change it to " Finally an Sr." Since we read it as Es Ar.
165  Other / Meta / Re: A needed feature for Bitcointalk on: August 13, 2018, 06:28:09 PM
Notification feature is a great feature and i believe there were someone who already request this feature before, but you know, there are more important things to do by admin beside adding some feature. Lets hope that it will come in the new forum 2.0 and let us hope that the new forum come sooner too.

Meanwhile, there are lot of method, i personally like to keep my talks in record, sometimes i write it down or bookmarked the thread, and i use "last post history" to come back to my last post in the respected thread that i bookmarked or noted. It is an old fashion way, but it works well, especially if you are an active person in the forum, but it will be less useful if you have a break time and not too active. So my suggestion is, check your last post regularly, maybe like /3-4 hours.
166  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 13, 2018, 08:26:28 AM
Merit for 300 or 500 good reports? Nah. It is an extremely bad idea. Abuse is kinda the best thing that all the spammer here can do to get the "easy money". The main reason why is because people can make a lot of accounts then do the abuse, and secondly is because the receiver of the merit will get half of the merits as their sMerit. Imagine if 1 people just abuse reports in 10 accounts, then :

1. It will only takes them to report 3000-5000 posts, which can be achieved in a short time, maybe 1-3 days, or for some that has the knowledge they can use bot.
2. Lets just say they will get "only" 1 airdrop merit per 300-500 reports = 10 merits
3. 10 merits going to main account, will make the main account get 5 sMerits
4. Then the main account will abuse those merits back and forth and will get 18 merits in total
5. Or he can sell it, because rumors say it is popular in this forum now.

snip.
I did not consider in this way - there was a dialogue about the possibility or impossibility of implementing this without abuse.
Or make it not happen at all. Can you tell me exactly why you think this needs to happen at all?
As I wrote above-there was a proposal, I considered the practical possibility of its implementation without abuse. And that's all.

Can you explain how is "practical possibility of its implementation without abuse" works? Or anything you mean by that, please @Alex_Sr .
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is now dying, what do you think? on: August 13, 2018, 08:06:37 AM
Well everything going red does not mean that the ETH is dying. Ethereum has a great concept for their product, stability in upgrading their coins, and has a lot of user (big market). The price increase from the start up until now is the prove that what i had been stated before is kinda right. So it is kinda a bad decision and analyzation if you think that Ethereum is now dying. Price decreasing is common in any stock (since cryptocurrency now is more like a stock), even gold has their down time.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your views on cryptocurrencies on: August 11, 2018, 11:38:40 PM
Even though it is a big decline in price of all coins recently, I consider this as a normal condition. Cryptocurrentcy is not called volatile without a reason, and this situation right now can describe it well. In fact, the volatility itself is the one that gives profits to some people that are good at trading.

My views on this condition, if you can analyze well, try short term trading, if not then go holding until it reaches the moon.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HODLing will get you nowhere on: August 11, 2018, 09:12:01 PM
That is why you only holding to a coin that has a big potential. You need to learn and do some analyzing before buying then holding the coins. If you got the coins that have a big potential, then holding will bring you a lot of profit rather than playing it small with trading in small amount and short time.

The concept of the coin matters, not only the market's movement.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins with potential to x100? on: August 11, 2018, 06:53:24 PM
Personally, iw ould pick ETH and EOS. They have the biggest potential in my opinion to be 100x, but it will not be in a short time and there will be hard path along the way to the 100x. You need a big guts and mentality to hold these coins, otherwise you will not get the benefit of it.

Last but not least, try to join ICO of new and promising projects.
171  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 10, 2018, 12:51:44 PM
Be cautious with something that can make some extra bucks for the people...
If the second reporter badge will be required for something (joining to campaign, etc.. where they talk about money in the end), people who really want to join, will do everything (legal or illegal) to achieve that 2nd badge...
The easiest way for our much-loved spammers is to create some fake accounts, create around 500 (or 1000, depends on the final decision of the limit) spam posts and report them on the spot... This will give them the second badge and will give the forum another 500 (or 1000) spam posts in various topics.... (and another 500 or 1000 post to check for the mods, who could check other 500 or 1000 real spam post instead...)

I kinda agree to not to make the reporter badge tier 2 as a requirement to join a signature campaign. I believe merit will be more suitable for it and some managers already applied it nowadays.

the idea is continuity, after you reach some awareness

Personally I don't like the idea of compulsion to report anything. Such things confer an additonal value on the report badges (which they initially didn't comprise) and provokes excessive nervousness. Many people here are already too serious and wary.

Serious into a good things and bring positiveness is good. I always consider that as a good thing. Meanwhile, lack of seriousness can cause a a lot of mess. See our forum now. Lot of spam (by spam, i mean a really really low quality posts)
172  Other / Meta / Re: Merrit? This got to be a joke. on: August 08, 2018, 04:38:49 PM
snip

You realized the shortcomings of merit system so late ? Or is this the frustration of not getting any merit till now ?

It is the frustation indeed. Merits was introduced on January if I'm not wrong, yet this guy does not have a single merit since then, or since his account made. Can you imagine the frustation? haha.

Merit selling is an illegal action and both buyer or seller can be granted a red trust from DT Members, so you should not buying that even though you have the frustation OP. I suggest you look into yourself and start change and improve. You can make it like any others. You can start by making a reputation report of merit seller by making a thread, maybe you can make some merits form that, since there are members who got merit by that way. It is counted as contributing to the forum.

174  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 08, 2018, 10:15:53 AM
We are all agree that people who reports without expecting any reward is highly valuable, but there wont be much of them to fight against spam later, when new users always coming and increasing, what will happen when spammer is growing faster than the valuable people here? The percentage of spam covered by reports will be decreasing.

I am not saying resetting is the way, but the idea is continuity, after you reach some awareness. Make people dont stop when they have the highest level. This is one of what we needed to do if we want to change the forum and make the forum less spammy.

Resetting the count doesn't make sense. It would be like resetting merit if you haven't earned any within 6 months. Or reducing activity if you haven't logged in within a certain period of time. Using the reset as a motivator would just implicate too many restrictions on the user, which would become a huge demotivated nuisance, as you're saying that you'll be taking away a user's rewards for something they've already accomplished.

Yeah but 1 thing you might forget is, report can be spammed in a day, not based on something hard like quality (merit) and time (activity). So it is kinda easy to achieve the badge I believe. Once again, I'm not saying resetting count is the way.
175  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 07, 2018, 04:14:06 PM
Not really. There's a couple of users who have just started frantically spamming the report queue recently with hundreds of reports a day probably because theymos announced the possibility of merit badges. It's clear some of them are actually just looking for things to report because they're reporting old threads that haven't been posted in for ages just to be 'locked' or spam posts from ages ago. Just saw one report from January on a spam post. Is that really essential? Nobody will see or miss that post whether it's there or not. Do I really need to waste my time deleting hundreds of posts long buried in a bounty thread? All it does is swamp the queue with things that are either going to take a long time to handle or not get handled at all and increases the chances of us missing something important that needs handling urgently.

There probably should be two report buttons or two queues or something. One for urgent things and the other one for sig spam or whatever. Maybe there could be dedicated mods/patrollers that handle the sig spam etc. There's thousands of spammers and bots making thousands of posts so it's never-ending.

@LoyceV and @esmanthra

Well, looking at hillariousetc's reply, i believe the increasing number is not 100% people who report to make this forum less spammy than before, because they start when this idea comes up. I believe you guys understand too that there are many people would report post to have something shiny under their name (especially when it gives some feature), and the fact that we can report so many times in a day make it easier, people will spam it and moderators will be flooded with reports from users. Affter they reach the finish line, some of them will stop reporting spam.

What I want to say is, it's a good thing if theymos make a system that has a continuity for this reporting system, so users will be motivated to report, even if they dont like it so much. LoyceV's idea of adding new rank when lot of people already have the highest rank is great. It is a form of continuity too, my idea is resetting counts per certain time, maybe like per 6 months or per year.

177  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 07, 2018, 11:03:15 AM
Logging in to the forum and watching this thread. I am worried if this has been mentioned by the others, because I can not read all replies in this thread, but, how do you guys think if the user's report counts reset at a certain time? I suggest this because if this idea that we are talking about will give some benefit/merit/feature to a user, then they will stop after they reach at a certain level. Well i believe some will stop after they reach some level even if they dont have a benefit/merit/feature by reporting the spam except the badge.

Sorry, but this isn't a good idea. Hitting 300 good reports isn't that hard.

Yes, of course! It is possible to send 300 reports in 1 day!

Then we need to increase the number to get the badge. How about 30k report as the first milestone for the badge?
