Also goes to show that PMs sent via bitcointalk shouldn't be considered very private.
A compromise in the account essentially means a compromise in its contents also.

End to end encryption is always best for messages that might be considered sensible.
To compromise a properly stored private key used for end to end encryption would require a full system compromise. Which is arguably harder than hacking a third party provider email address.
1062  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red trusted casino promotes services under new account on: August 03, 2020, 09:34:52 PM
I found that lot of players are complaning again about casino  even their dev from dev team was saying its a scam and rigged site Sad feel bad for players and i am sorry to support such as scam casino they are not paying to players

why you don't say who you are dear Axxton ex-Moderator of WixiPlay ?
why i should pretent to be who i am not ? If your dev say your site is rigged i believe Smiley you want screen shot ? Of your clean chat history?
To be honest it's a weird turn of events having you posting against this casino after having defended it.

Either way, I don't really care about any personal drama.
Just if you have any such screenshot I think it would be useful to have it posted publicly. Given that the site's reputation is being discussed here if fits the discussion.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: August 03, 2020, 09:26:59 PM
More states are bound to enable mail-in ballots and that should be especially worrying for Trump and the republican establishment.

First of all, it means that many old people that are bound to their homes will be able to vote. But it also means that many working class people will be able to vote in their off hours.
Funnily enough US is one of the countries that doesn't make voting day a holiday and many states offer little to no protection to those working if they want to vote.
Of course this is just speculation but I think Trump has been afraid of mail in ballots for reasons other than he's willing to show. And that's probably because more working class people would vote under this condition.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: August 03, 2020, 09:18:44 PM
If crypto is made illegal in one country, then it'd be very hard to block funds derived from crypto. After all, international bank transfers can also happen and banks in other countries wouldn't ban cryptocurrency so easily.
It'd be more devastating if a few countries banded together and decided to ban crypto. This way exchanges couldn't simply move to another country if a block of interconnected economies was working together. But that's unlikely to happen. If a country bans part of the economy, other countries will most likely seek to benefit from it.
1065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AltcoinDaily.io Youtube channel removed on: August 03, 2020, 12:01:25 AM
Maybe they were accused of pump and dump attempts.
Youtube is a little hyper vigilant with such reports IMO. They've had too many ponzi schemes try and reap the benefits of affiliate marketing and youtube has started being more careful with such, especially in terms of crypto.
1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what did the author mean? on: August 02, 2020, 11:59:19 PM
It's just some bullshit know it all pretentiousness. If things were as simple everyone would have been programming bots to reap profits of the market.
Hint: things aren't as simple.

Try this and you will be burned.
There are firms out there working with AI bots and millions at their disposal and dudes think they can compete with a simple Moving Average?
Just HODL. Maybe buy more to hodl too. Always the best solution.
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why People Call Bitcoin Blockchain? on: August 02, 2020, 11:50:48 PM
Block chain is open source and can't be trademarked, so many corporations have jumped on the train of this innovative idea to try and pretend they're in it for the technology and openness while it's merely them not wanting to miss out on potential profits.

Sadly or not, many corporations don't promote the free and open source aspects of blockchain projects like bitcoin, because they are after profit. They promote close ended block chains and claim their solutions are superior. Fear not though, they're going to be the ones promoting products with no real use while BTC continues being fully functional.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Gambling idea - How it can be "patented"? on: August 02, 2020, 11:46:13 PM
You could try and create a trademark but these are only granting you protection for 10 years or so and are also region-restricted. All and all it's just too much effort to try and get one and you rarely see any such efforts being put for a gambling website that is new. Especially if its a startup, they usually try to invest in having a good platform and having the firs comer advantage other than trademarking as their first step. Other than that, the logo of a company could very well fall under copyright. So with copyright you don't need to apply. You just get it by publicizing your work first. I think that's much better than having to go through an application.

So long story short, better just build a brand name by being innovative.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with the experts? on: August 01, 2020, 11:59:47 PM
Yes, I do agree with the experts.
For the record, it's both in terms of medical and also economics.

The cost of closing the economy is going to pay off in the long term. For example, US is going to have reduced GDP with a longer long term effect due to deaths than a small lockdown would have had.

In terms of finance and economics, it is very much true that there's less money flowing around generally and crypto can't do otherwise but also be affected. We won't see the potential of a true rally until there's some good rebound for the world's economy as well.
1070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question re buying and fees on: August 01, 2020, 11:57:46 PM
Never buy via Coinbase. Always try to use the actual exchange at pro.coinbase.com if you have funds in Coinbase. See the gif below for some example.

Buying via Coinbase wallet is always a bad idea because they have tons of hidden fees. They try to fool you into thinking there aren't substantial fees by putting them in the exchange rate and other tricks. Just buy via PRO and then transfer the balance. It's always better to buy on the market rate.
1071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I still can't believe these scams are supported on: August 01, 2020, 11:55:44 PM
It might not come as a surprise to you, but most promotion for ICOs is fake. The support showed, the people in their chats, the likes, the views etc. All fake. All a ploy to attract more money and part more people from their funds.

They're selling an idea and nothing more. Their only investment so far is on promotion and the goal is to get as much money as possible... It's an industry that is mostly based on speculation and not much more. Good developers are already working full time in projects that are impactful. ICOs simply promise part of funds raised to those willing to put their name on it... Only if they get money they'll try to develop anything.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobe Bryant's death has been used for scamming. on: August 01, 2020, 11:52:52 PM
This isn't new, but really goes to show how creative a piece of scam and malware can get.
Using a famous person's death might get some people's guard down in trusting the host, only to download what's essentially a piece of malicious code.

Thankfully for those that got this particular malware, it was mostly using their processor time for mining for someone else. It wasn't a full compromise at least according to how it was reported. This type of malware must also be easier to pass through antivirus software.

Can this be used to see if a thread was moved to a different board?
No, I don't keep track of boards. The thread you requested was on the Reputation board when I first saw it.
Hm, it might be useful to note the board.
Now I wonder about how the archive tool behaves on moved (and trash-canned) threads, redirection messages and the likes.

1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 30, 2020, 12:02:23 AM

Bitcoin = 90% of sites if not more. In fact, if the site does NOT use Bitcoin, then I am actually even more wary of it, for sure! Because in my mind, why would a site not have Bitcoin if it deals with crypto, unless it is a specific altwhale who wants to use the casino as a get rick quick scheme?

Some cryptocurrencies are quite difficult to link to the bitcoin blockchain. Therefore, online casinos most often use EOS and Tron blockchains. It seems to me that the most important thing here is not the cryptocurrency, but the reputation of the site and its owners.
At least I would say the solutions for linking cryptos are not very convenient. You need both blockchains and building on protocols that have not been proven yet. It's complicated and hard to use for the end user. Unless some interface or easier to access method is build then these solutions will remain more experimental.
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to win at casino on: July 30, 2020, 12:00:16 AM
hi guys how does one win when playing in casino? is there a strategy that u use in order to win, or do u just randomly make decisions when you play. also how do u determine when to cash out or deposit more money So f
First of all you need to understand basics of mathematics and then think about it. Casinos aren't meant to be a charity departments and organisations. Casinos need to function and as a business, their main aim is profit. So, to profit, you need to increase winning chances on your side and don't let players abuse your bankroll with 50/50 chances. That's where house edge shines and profits casino mathematically on a long term. The more you gamble, the less luckier you become (e.i. unlucky). So, on long term your chances decrease while casinos' increase. Every game is built on mathematics and mathematics can't be wrong cause it has never been, you can't make 1+1 to be 5.

Btw https://yolodice.com/#faq has some good explanations that may be beneficial for not only you but other users too.
Exactly this. Many people aren't very aware of casinos being run with a skewed house edge. It's a notion many people fail to understand. So long as any strategy requires you to win against the house, it will always fail in the long term. Only in occasions where you can win against other players maybe strategies could be utilized and prevail.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 28, 2020, 10:31:26 PM
Well, most of the original crypto gambling sites don't have KYC. So it's also kinda pointless to try and enforce age limits.
It might be a little odd too visit a gambling site and not even see an age disclaimer anywhere on it, but it's a reality of these sites.
It goes along the lines of: if you can use BTC, you can use the site. There's no stopping you.
This way I am sure many underage people also gamble. But I'm not sure if the crypto gambling sites don't put disclaimers out of a philosophy. Probably it's just pointless to pretend you're limiting age.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The difference between a true Crypto gambling site and a Fiat/Crypto site.. on: July 27, 2020, 11:58:22 PM
There are quite a few differences but I think mostly the difference for a FIAT site would have to be compliance. Ofc FIAT casinos have opportunities to cheat from players in other ways aside of compliance. For example FIAT exclusive casinos don't tend to prove their fairness. They usually have software either they built or some third party company has made. Some huge conflicts of interest here.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The whole IP thing on: July 26, 2020, 10:40:56 PM
Interesting tidbid of information to know that bitcoin used to have transactions by IP instead of just BTC addresses. Reading over the topic that was also linked above makes me understand the whole ordeal better. You learn something so often about this, no matter how much time you spend using and understanding bitcoin more.

What I see here, was an innovative idea that ultimately the Internet's backbone infrastructure wasn't built to support securely. Hugely interesting when you understand that it was actually forward looking.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you estimate resilience of economy in your country? on: July 26, 2020, 09:59:44 PM
Resilience of an economy for me is to what extent it can rebound from crisis situations. In my view this is a multi-factoral issue. It also has to do with reliance on external economies, dependence on single points of failure like oil prices, trade embargoes from potential monopolies there's a dependence on, closure of trade routes etc.

The strategy and stability of any given political system is also vital here. Sometimes the decicion making mechanisms and local politics can put a chokehold on any potential attempts for a stable and sustainable recovery.
