Hey batesresearch,
It looks like space, domains and transfer/month are all unlimited. What's the plan?

-Xerodrag

batesresearch will create website and 2 dedicated nodes for the wallet. After that, I will create new thread for the coin, which will be on several languages (english, bulgarian, russian, serbian, albanian) and eventually german, spanish, french and italian. For the last 4 languages I still don't have confirmed translations, but I think there will be no problem. Everything should run fine next week. I will also create faucet/s and giveaway/s, for which I will give from my own coins. Any other ideas are welcomed!

P.S. Eventually some crypto websites will support the coin with articles or something, but I'm still not sure about that and I'll be silent for the moment.

I'll dedicate 100Million to any giveaway, I will be looking at a block explorer and faucets after the nodes/new wallet zip and website are done this weekend.

When I have finished the website (It's very basic for now but will be upgraded over time), how shall we upload the site too your hosting? I can send you the files or you can create a temp username/password for me. Then I can point my domain to the webhosting DNS.
2223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIL] FailCoin - Launch 18:00GMT/13:00EST 08/03/14 on: April 23, 2014, 02:14:46 PM
Cool logo Spartak_t, image is a total fail! Although, to get people involved, we should have had a contest and offered fail as the reward. We could have gotten some new peeps on board. Maybe a relaunch of the coin? Or at least a "we're not dead" launch :O)

Neverminds17,
Where did you hear about the coin? What brought you to start mining failcoin? How about the rest of you? It's probably about time we started getting others involved. I saw the coin on Coin-swap.net and decided to come check it out, which brought me to the launch site here at bitcointalk.

By the way, it just dawned on me, we don't know a few things about this coin...since the OP didn't mention them at launch...

1. Does it ever "halve"?
2. When is the expected date that all coins are mined?
3. What happens after the coin is completely mined? (Doesn't mining need t occur in order to process transactions?)
4. Was there ever a block explorer created? If not, how easy is it to create one?
5. Is it time we took over this Posting for the failcoin? We need to update the nodes for those who are new to the coin, and the OP doesn't appear to login anymore. (Maybe we can find the originators of the coin and speak with them? How would we go about that, do you think?)
Just some food for thought...

Hey Batesresearch,
Are you still working on a website layout? Do you need webspace?...or any help at all? I've got some webspace at arvixe, if needed. It even has the ability to setup forums, although I've never done so, I'm sure we could figure it out.

Hi Xerodrag, what are the bandwidth limits on your webhosting / disk space limits? (If it's got any)

Guys,

I will launch a new thread in about 2 days. It will be translated on 4 or 6 languages. Bulgarian, serbian, russian, albanian and eventually spanish and italian! Mine some FAILs, because you'll miss the train!  Grin

Why launch the new thread so soon, why not launch it when we have the website up, new wallet zip sorted and nodes up?

I will make it next week then, because I'm on wedding that weekend. Smiley I will wait for you. At this moment I am talking with some websites to show their support. Everything will be great! Smiley

No worries just thought it would be good to have them in place first, thanks bud

batesresearch, what do you think about coin device? I think that "Got screwed? Get some FAILs!" is nice. It will be for people who screwed with trading & mining. Grin I can implement it in the logo.

Do you mean, coin motto? / catchphrase if so I like it.

In the mean time, don't forget to vote for FAIL on MintPal. It's already has 2k+ votes! Someone may send 20 BTC to put it on top! Smiley)))

batesresearch, can you tell me when the nodes and website will be ready? I will prepare new thread with one friend, which knows english.

I will be getting them up before end of this weekend. Can't be precise as I've got a lot work wise and family wise it would have been sooner if not.

batesresearch, you was the only one who has mined the coin with about 200kh... an hour later the network is 8.85 MH. Smiley WE WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL! Smiley

Haha I know, I do have miners with about 2MH but haven't had then switched on for a while due to heat overload.

Just a little update:

- Looking at finishing a very basic website off this week and having it up and running by weekend
- We will be creating 2 dedicated nodes (One in the UK one in the USA)
- On the website we will be providing download links to an edited zip FailCoin file with a updated conf file inside and instructions on how to use
- Later next week to any new wallets we will be offering 1 Mill per new user giveaway

The pool https://www.minep.it/pool/fail is still up and running - Thanks minep.it <- A link to this will be provided in the newly created zip.

Good news! My wallet already synced and I'm back mining FAILs, because I f*cked up with several currencies. I will mine it, untill I became FAIL billionaire. Cheesy

Do you think on launch of the website we create a new thread for FailCoin?

YES! I can do it, but my english is broken as I said. You can do it and I will translate it to bulgarian, serbian and russian languages. Smiley

The text and link:

'The KarmaWall and new website is live!: http://www.ikarmacoin.com'

Is still on the main page and stands out in RED.

My wallet seems to have stopped syncing for no apparent reason. I'll see if I can get it to connect again.

Hi,

Did you find any sites? I googled Fail video sites a while back and emailed them about FAIL but had no reply(I can create a list of everyone I emailed if you like). I think if we work together we can create a template text we can send out but I think where I went wrong was not providing enough detail and having a website off them to visit. As I said we bought failcoin.co.uk and will probably host the site on that, pointing readers of the email proposal to separate pages on that site for the wallet/helping setting up etc.
2237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIL] FailCoin - Launch 18:00GMT/13:00EST 08/03/14 on: April 15, 2014, 09:17:22 AM
bgmc,
Nope, FAIL hasn't failed yet :O) There will always be a few of us keeping it alive.

Thanks minep.it team,
I'll take a look at the block explorer code and see if I can make any sense of it.

Neverminds17,
I too had difficulty syncing my FAIL wallet, but once I made my failcoin.conf file and put it in the right place, the wallet synced as expected. I would confirm your failcoin.conf file is named correctly, in the right place and contains the nodes listed below.

Spartak_t,
Again, great job on the logo :O) Epic!

I'm thinking about making a gambling site that accepts FAIL and a few other coins. I also have a team of devs looking into a trading site that will allow people to trade coins of different types, like coin-swap.net. It won't be a full on exchange, just a safe, easy way to trade coins without the fear of getting ripped off.

I'm also thinking about lurking around some of the existing fail pic sites and offering fail to the epic fail posters. However, after they download a wallet, it won't work, since the nodes need to be manually updated in the conf file. We really need to be able to update the nodes on the first page.

I am also currently looking at the code for the block explorer, thanks for the link minep.it. I do think if a good team is created for this coin it will go far, I would like to see it used on Fail sites (Websites with videos of fails on for example) as a tip system -the better / more views the video the more FAIL tipped for example.

Anyone have any knowledge on how to setup a block explorer. We will be looking at this over the next few weeks, any help will be appreciated.

Yes, I have it. PM me with e-mail and I will sent it to you.

I will put up what I have done for a website during the week and send you a link. Looking at some EPIC FAIL images but don't want too many graphics. Working on few different formats for the website.
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIL] FailCoin - Launch 18:00GMT/13:00EST 08/03/14 on: April 13, 2014, 03:02:00 PM
can anyone sync wallet.... I am having trouble with it...... Have 0 connections

Add those nodes:

addnode=88.151.74.11
addnode=23.97.132.124
addnode=37.187.200.117
addnode=192.227.251.74
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106

added, even made a fresh wallet on other pc and still nothing

Sometimes I need to restart the wallet and everything is working. At this moment I have 3 active connections and the wallet is synced.

P.S. The only pool for FAIL that is working now (as far as I know) is https://www.minep.it/pools/21/

this is how my failcoin.conf looks like:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=rpcpass
port=44557
rpcport=44556
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
addnode=88.151.74.11
addnode=23.97.132.124
addnode=37.187.200.117
addnode=192.227.251.74
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106

anything wrong here?

This is my conf, never had a disconnect:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=rpcpass
port=44557
rpcport=44556
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
