I am really confused about how token rates increase and decrease. Someone said it depends on the token traders.
You mean how the prices change? Well, it is a market so if many people want tokens and there is a limited amount, sellers will ask for a higher price. For example if everyone all the sudden wants oranges, the supermarkets will sell them more expensive. As for a more detailed explanation, tokens are very different in nature, some of them represent projects that will change a service for the token, other provide pasive income... so the price will depend on the price of ethereum in general, but also on the perspectives of the token being valuable.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which exchanges are better? DEX or CEX?

Which exchanges are better - centralized or decentralized?
This question has been asked over and over, yet the answer is still "it depends". The latest difficulties in the market have made many tokens non-listed and in that case the DEX have proven to be the last and only resource for investors to recover. However, any trader will tell you that he can only use de CEX because they need to perform hundreds of fast operations a day to make their living.

It was necessary to sell in December 2017. Now it is better to keep your tokens and wait for the market growth.
Or even a bit later, if you were on a good position you could hold during January and see, but people who got on the train in the middle of the super-rise will of course encounter a problem if they try to liquidate the positions now. So, I agree, if you are in, you have no option but to hodl.

3) Shorting w/ leverage Anything else?
This is the only realistic option to profit for the fall. The leveraging options are available however for the main coins, there is no way to short other smaller tokens, but I would appreciate if someone could share an exchange that allows shorting any token in general because I think that true profit lies in there.

How many of you are trading short-term?
If you trade is quite different than if you only hold for a middle or long term. Trading you have tools like stop loss orders that will prevent at least the worst situations. Also you need to trade on very liquid assets. For hodling, the basic rule is to diversify, but that also has its drawbacks as you have to keep track of more coins.

Can NEO gets to a level close to that of ETH?
Yes, it is already competing. Many ICO had choosen the NEO infrastructure. Instead of building low quality and high volume, NEO is going for sound an profitable ICOs but a more reasonable pace than ETH. It of course requires a bit of a more centralised system, but that is also safer for investors and can be holded long time.

In conclusion my experience as crypto trader is that never be too anxious for price movement. Greed and Fear is the key factor that result to lost of Crypto Asset in trading . Please kindly share your experience in trading so far to improve a member of the forum skills in trading Crypto Asset
I think that you have done quite well, so congratulations. My experience in trading is limited, but I concentrate mostly in coins or tokens that have been listed recently and have plenty of volatility. It went really well in the up market, but it became less interesting with time. The strategy also requires to be ready at the time of listing and trading quite a bit during the first days, thus it can only be done if you want to be on it 100%. I choosed ICOs that had been oversubscribed and got into the train in the first moments of trading if I saw that it was going to go well.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency is the fastest?

As Bitcoin becomes slower each day in transaction confirmation time, other alternatives could prove to become useful for everyday transactions. Cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and even Ethereum have faster transaction confirmation time allowing you to send and receive coins at a hassle-free way. Thus, among the wide variety of altcoins, many have block times which are near instantaneous. Based on these facts, which cryptocurrencies do you consider the fastest? I would appreciate if you would list it or them here. Bitcoin is not slower each day, but anyway, the race is no longer about speed per se, but about the combination of speed, acceptance, community and safety.

Internet was also faced with almost the same challenge. During the advent of internet, people were nit ready to accept it and some said "can we be online without internet?" Despite all these, internet became acceptable worldwide, because everyone has now seen it's importance. So crypto should not be an exception. It is also facing similar challenge now, but it will overcome it.
Not that real I am afraid, there is not much opposition to cryptos, it is simply a new thing and everything that is said about it may simply be a opinion.

OK so I bought ETH a while back when it was 600 dollars.
Now that ETH is 275 is it a good move to sell my ETH and buy back in? Wouldnt profit be faster when market picks up like that or not?
Please help me understand
Too late, now it is time to hold, frankly if you did hold at 300 why donīt you just stay to see if you can gain again at least what youīd put into it.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum futures, good or bad news?

Yesterday a new information was released, futures are coming for Ethereum. The interesting fact that no trading platform that already confirmed it. What to expect, should we consider that news like a good or bad one? If look at the BTC showed a good bull run, but after that it was dumped hard. Even don't know what to think...
It is good news, the more investment possible in any way into crypto the more we can benefit from the increase in prices that it entails. Even the dot coms recovered.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HODLing will get you nowhere
|

The past week, as I've been looking to invest in recently finished ICOs since most of their prices are way below ICO price, I noticed the same thing mentioned over and over in their telegram channels.
People screaming: HODL!!! It will moon someday!!!!
Another one that is common: When BINANCE!?!?! If only we were on Binance!!!
This makes me laugh inside. Crypto is not a magical place where all coins will eventually rise in value if you just hold on to them.
Most ICOs did very poorly the last 3 months. The ones that did the worst were the ones that started in January Now, a lot of these startups are underfunded and could only list in low volume exchanges and seeing their prices crash to ridiculously low prices. And everyone is crying on their Telegram.
Listen very closely yo: The price will never rise if everyone HODls!
Prices are boosted through supply and demand and if a vast majority of people who own the coin are not trading it, than you are severely cutting in to that chain.
Instead of Hodling, you should be buying and making strategic trade choices.
You donīt grasp the concept of holding, it is not a fail safe method but it is the only method to make sure that you are able to get some profit long term.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Right time to buy ETH !
|
on: August 30, 2018, 03:56:16 PM

I'd still be waiting a bit for ETH to establish before jumping in. If you watch the graphs for the price of ETH in last 3 months, it's steadily decreasing and a line drawn on the changes would put it's price much lower than the last weeks depression. Though anything below $250 would be a buy as we are having a jump after a fall.
It is all about the right timing and the introduction of corporate money into the crypto game that is being played, everyone was betting on those possibilities.

Platform of the Eth is the main one for emerging new tokens, and in the near future such will remain. I think that Eth at the moment is significantly undervalued and its price will grow. Compare BTC with Eth does not make sense, these are different platforms designed for different tasks.
Bitcoin seems to be estable on bear markets, however it is limited in growth due to the already huge market cap it has, so others may have a better chance at making you rich.
