1905  Local / Primeiros Passos (Iniciantes) / Re: Duvida Hd7970 Sapphire on: September 29, 2013, 09:55:04 AM
Pode dar problema, sim. 75ºC está ok para jogar ocasionalmente, não para funcionar 24/7.
1906  Local / Portugal / Re: ASUS HD7870 DIRECT CU II on: September 29, 2013, 09:52:00 AM
Eu tenho uma 7870 com Tahiti e vRam a 1500 Mhz e tb só consigo 380 Kh/s. Pessima compra para minar scrypt.
1907  Local / Portugal / Re: [Venda] OC Usb Erupter Kit's / Serviço + Kit's [Actualizado] on: September 29, 2013, 09:42:49 AM
A tentação é grande...
1908  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Whats everyone doing with their GPU now? on: September 29, 2013, 09:20:29 AM
Mining alt-coins, of course.
1909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: September 29, 2013, 09:13:10 AM
I'm expecting 1 Mh/s scrypt from the 290X. According to techreport the cards have 4 GB Vram, so they suspect it's a 512 bit bus.
1910  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [EU/UK GROUP BUY] Blue Fury USB miner 2.2 - 2.7 GH/s on: September 29, 2013, 09:10:29 AM
Waiting patiently for the next group buy
1911  Economy / Lending / Re: 2 BTC loan request on: September 29, 2013, 09:08:00 AM
Bitcoin world is about reputation.
It's more about proof of work, collateral and escrow.
1912  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NSA and ECC on: September 29, 2013, 07:44:04 AM
Also, the NSA is not going to crack the crypto used on Bitcoin because their goal is not to actively attack Bitcoin (I doubt the NSA care much about financial regulations). Their goal is to spy on everyone. They're much more likely to do graph analysis of the block chain than worry about the crypto.
Yes, and perhaps set up "rogue" full nodes.
1913  Other / Off-topic / Re: intel vPro processor backdoor to make securing bitcoin impossable? on: September 29, 2013, 07:40:17 AM
Yes, you can disable vPro. When you are using the machine, use an USB-Ethernet or USB Wifi adapter. When you are not using it, unplug it from the wall.

That said, I don't understand why you would buy such a machine in the first place. Those are for business environments and are more expensive.
1914  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.3.1, the GUI/monitor for CGMiner and BFGMiner to prevent downtime on: September 29, 2013, 07:28:40 AM
Please create an option to select the CPU priority of the miner. Thank you!
1915  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGTune 1.0 on: September 29, 2013, 04:06:40 AM
Useful. I'll check it out  Smiley
1916  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How they are paying $1 Everyday for all free members? on: September 29, 2013, 03:02:32 AM
They are not only paying free members, they are paying everyone. But you can earn $1 using their free thread only for 30 days. After 30 days your account balance will be $30 but you are not able to buy 1 thread if you don't have $50, so you have to invest $20 more to continue your earnings.

They are scam.

Can you withdraw the $30 without investing ?

no, it has been proven again and again to be a ponzi scheme. they only keep the shills accounts open so they can post "proof" to skid forums, then they close down all other users' accounts for "suspicious activity" to pay their shills.
Indeed! Their chat is infested with shills, too.

I'm locked AFTER "purchasing" a thread. It ended up costing me $6 due to the 30 day trial and referrals, but I mined the equivalent of those $6 in 3 days, so I thought "what the hell". Now, they are demanding ID card and other scans. I'd be insane to dump such private info on the internet (handwriting, pic, fingerprint, personal data...)

Why did you do it? it is an obvious scam.
Because I'm obviously dumber than I thought. It took a while to grasp that it's unsustainable to pay $1/day for 10% of the CPU of a low end PC
1917  Economy / Services / Re: Want to buy BTC? Buy me a 3-D printer and I will pay you in BTC! on: September 29, 2013, 02:55:11 AM
Good point.
1918  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Sapphire 7870 XT w/boost on: September 28, 2013, 11:19:32 PM
These 7870 XT cards are bad for scrypt mining.  For gaming and general OpenCL are great though
1919  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2x AMD 6950 $90, PSU, Case Fans on: September 28, 2013, 11:16:06 PM
I can confirm the claimed hash rate. I have an unlocked 6950 doing 490 Kh/s and was indeed doing 450 before unlocking

I'd buy one such cards if I didn't have to pay $50+ for international delivery, as usual  Angry
1920  Other / Off-topic / Re: Programming in Python on: September 28, 2013, 09:59:53 PM
Instead of learning python, learn the OOP then you can easily learn any language. I personally think python is a descent web language. I personally like php, and JavaEE for web, and Objective-c for desktop/ios apps.
This is nitpicking, but python is not a "web language". It's multipurpose and one can code desktop programs with it (and wxPython). I did so, some time ago.
