121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ING is being hypocritical about bitcoin on: July 17, 2015, 12:43:22 AM
Of course banks don't want you to use cryptos.  Why wait days and pay lots of money to transfer assets, in stead of just a few minutes at almost no cost?
122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New website to sell BTC..seems kinda fishy on: July 16, 2015, 05:48:56 PM
Yes, it looks shady.  There are already some good companies out there for this, just use those guys.  I always stay away from the new kids, until they become proven to be trusted.  Right now I think LBC is a good place.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Police Arrest 20 in Digital Currency Pyramid Scheme on: July 16, 2015, 05:46:57 PM
So yeah what makes this different from the other shit coins out there?   Is it just me or is the article a bit lacking on the details?  I would like to know so I can avoid scam coins lol.

And ocminer, if that is the case then I will be rich because its been nothing but crap in my life so far Cheesy
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's a bear trap on: July 16, 2015, 05:43:03 PM
I think the price of btc, since I assume we are talking about that, will bounce in the low 270's.  But I am no expert so don't bet on my advice Smiley
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10K by the end of 2016 on: July 15, 2015, 10:06:20 PM
no it is not possible.  unless the world has another major financial crisis.  but it is fun to dream now and again.

Another financial crisis?  We're no where near fixing the one that started in 2007, and likely it can't be fixed.  The fact that the only effect of the ongoing financial crisis most people see right now is abnormally low interest rates (which most people probably think is a good thing) doesn't mean the crisis isn't still there.

Yes.  The rates are still low because they know if they raise them, the asset bubble will burst.  I would say we are in the eye of the shit storm.  They could fix it by making regulations, or just simply putting back some old regulations (Glass-Stegal anyone?).  But no.  Mr. Hope and Change in stead put the same goldman sachs asshats in charge, we get no good regulations, and the problem still continues.  Welcome to the new world order.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Betting on dice with bots! Please help! on: July 15, 2015, 05:17:12 PM
I know that a bot in the long term will loose in the end, sooner or later the luck always turn. But when I'm botting I never play 49.5%. I ether play looking for the long red streak to hit the winning on it when it turns green, that works on diggit.io or I play with odds like 55%-80%. But it's still never safe! But this works for me, but i want to bot to be online doing this without having my laptop on.
Get me now?

yes, I get what you mean but I don't understands why you want to do it:)

in first part of your post, you stated (correctly), that in long term, you will lost money with bot but in the end of your post, you are asking for bot to "play" instead of you..Maybe we had misunderstanding here, because from my perspective is long-term and huge amount of spins same.

so I''l try it again - if you will create huge amounts of spins, sooner or later you'll lost everything. please just think about it if you don't believe me. if something "works" for you, just count it as luck and not as strategy.

OK, I agree, but what if you had a bot that played with the averages?  What I mean is, over time assuming that the site is legit, your win % should approach 49% right?  So, what if a bot waited until there was a large statistical anomaly, like your % in the last hour was only 45% wins or something?  I do understand that past rolls don't make the math for future rolls any different, but it seems to me that you should trend towards 49% right?

But yes, I agree that using a bot for dice is dangerous.  Good luck though, I hope the OP makes money with it!
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questuon about mining bitcoins on: July 15, 2015, 05:09:34 PM
So in let's say 10 years it would still be possible to mining ?

Yes.  I forgot the exact year, but I think mining stops like 2120 or something?  So you have a long time Smiley

If you are thinking of mining check out the forum section on that.  But basically your main limiting factor is the costs of your electricity.  In my area it is 20 cents kwh base plus scaled with use, so even if I got all the hardware for free I would still lose money.  There is a lot more to it that that, but if you have high costs like me then you might want to check out Bitmain's services instead.  You can buy one of their machines and they will host it for you, you pay a maintenance fee but you can still make money with it.  Some people will tell you not to bother mining because you can't do it anymore.  This is obviously not true, but you should be careful to look at the numbers before spending the money on it.

Edit:  there you go, LTCguy always with the best graphics and things!
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happened to BurtW who got arrested for bitcoin trading? on: July 15, 2015, 05:01:36 PM
So from what I read about the story, using localbitcoins is basically illegal by default?  I have no way of knowing what my buyer is going to spend coins on.  This is absurd! And why don't they prosecute banks for doing the exact same thing.  What is the difference between this guy and getting money from an atm?  The whole case is just so weird.  And it makes me a little paranoid about using bitcoins!  Is the nsa tracking me now because I hold some pennies in crypto?  Spooky.

AFAIK they will only get you if they tell you they will do something illegal.  Like you sell to them and they tell you it is for drugs.  If that happens then cancel the transaction because they are under cover agents.

The Burt case is a little different, where his money was seized.  I don't really understand the law, but basically if you have any money on you, of any amount, cops can just steal it because they "suspect" that you are going to use it for something bad.  They can do this without due processes.  So if you use lbc, be careful to not carry lots of cash.  You may want to use electronic transfer methods in stead of physical cash.  I think the laws are vague, so basically if the gov wants to screw you then they can, and you can't do anything about it.
129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I go about purchasing a large amount of bitcoins on: July 15, 2015, 04:54:18 PM
Look at different exchanges, they all have limits on what you can buy.  Also look at the fees, they can eat in to your money.  Right now it seems like cex.io has the lowest fees, but I didn't look at every exchange.  They don't charge anything except their regular trading fees.  So you will end up paying for wire transfer fee(s) and .25% to buy btc.  There may be better but that is the best I found.  Also before buying look at the order books.  There is no point in making a price spike because you will pay more than you need to.  With that size I think that what others have said, making smaller purchases at multiple exchanges, is your best option.  If you use LBC just make sure you are not getting too much markup, the % can be (but is not always) pretty steep there if you are not creating your own order.

Best of luck!
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: July 15, 2015, 01:09:59 AM
QTL trader is about to get beat down bad everyone. Circuits and the CIRC wallet are intergrading a bot into the wallet. If it looks anything like their wallet then qtl bot and coin are going be finished. Good though because the qtl bot sucks, it freezes every 10 minutes, what kind of joke bot is this anyway. When I sell my 3000 qtl it will be the best day of my life.

But did you check the price for entry, myself I would rather get the cat or something for that price.
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paysafecard -> bitcoin on: July 14, 2015, 06:02:27 PM
Take a look at the different exchanges, some of them are offering interesting benefits like debit cards now.  The way you get money in is usually a wire, but you can use ach for coinbase I think, and in Europe they have the same thing but it is called something different.  You can also use Localbitcoins to get some as well.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greece’s New 2-Way Bitcoin ATM Processed 20 Transactions in 1st Day on: July 14, 2015, 05:58:50 PM
I should also mention that an article this morning indicated that even the contents of safe deposit boxes were off-limits during the crisis in Greece, and that cash and precious metals in the safe deposit boxes may have been targeted in the event of a general confiscation of deposits. This trashes the plans of many Greeks who had stored money/gold in a safe deposit box thinking that would get them through the crisis. Instead they couldn't even access the contents, and the contents could have been raided anyway. The advantage of bitcoin here is obvious.

This is too much.  SO what if they had a valuable collectable in the safe box, like the original beanie baby or something like that?  Maybe a comic book like superman #1?  Would they take that too?  Time and time again through out history it has been proven that holding too much of your wealth in a bank is a bad idea.

Does it seem like that number of transactions on the atm is kind of low?  I would have expected more transaction in the first day, but maybe people are still finding out about it.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It truely begins on: July 14, 2015, 05:54:43 PM
I dont see this as being good news, we all know that backpage is mainly used for prostitutes, yes i have no problem with bitcoins and prostitutes, I do have a problem with the fact that backpage is known for having under aged prostitutes listed, if anything happens and bitcoin was used, it would further taint the bad reputation we have

But whether you pay in btc or cash changes nothing.  I am starting to think that the bad press for bitcoins is encouraged by banks, because anyone knows that you can still buy prostitutes with cash, you don't need cryptos for that.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: July 14, 2015, 05:52:39 PM
"Graphs coming soon"

This will be great, maybe this will become a replacement for coinigy and cryptrader.

I have a request, documentation Wink  some of the features are not 100% clear how they will act, at least not to me.  So it would be nice to have a basic run down of things.  I know that it is not easy to type it up, and I would even do it but i don't have the knowledge of the program.

Edit:  I got this error message: "error: catch orderbook 1088 , object reference not set to an instance of an object" and the trader stopped.  This was advanced ping pong.  I have no idea why this has happened.

Edit edit:  same thing again.  Coin is DRKT, idk if that matters.  Maybe I will try a different coin later.

Hi IDK if you saw this problem or not.  But it is possibly a bug so I wanted to point it out again.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Controversial Backpage.com Warmly Welcomes Bitcoin on: July 14, 2015, 05:50:52 PM
I don't think it matters very much.  For the banks and other main stream entities, btc has been demystified.  I never understand why it is a problem when someone uses bitcoins for illegal activities.  If you have a dollar in your pocket that is older than a year, chances are good that it has been in the hands of a criminal of some kind.  So why all of a sudden does it make a difference for bitcoins and not dollars?  The whole thing is just silly.  No matter what there will always be a black market, and you can pay in cash just as easily as btc.  Plus imo cash is more "anonymous".
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News: Putin on: July 14, 2015, 05:47:29 PM
Somehow I doubt that russia will adopt bitcoin as a national currency lol.  But if this is true it can only be a good thing for wider adoption of coins.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Those with an incentive to attack the bitcoin network on: July 13, 2015, 04:39:20 PM
So, we don't know who is doing this stress test, so we just guess, it is the same guys, that did the other stress test, which identity we also don't know. That thinking brings us forward a lot Roll Eyes

Well, OK, I know about 1 stress test that I read:
Quote
Bitcoin brokerage CoinWallet.eu had planned the stress test starting 22 June at 13:00 GMT, to last for 100 blocks. It had sought to spend 20 BTC (around $5,000) on transactions totaling about 200MB in data.

However 100 blocks were supposed to last ~16 hours, right? All this for 20 BTC, 5000$ at the time. Now this was a few weeks ago, however the network is still under stress. Am I missing some newer news about stress tests?Or is it that they have flooded the network with so much junk transaction that it still hasn't been flushed? (unlikely)
Or is it that now everybody is "testing" the network for their own research that is causing the problem in the end?
We also don't really know, who this CoinWallet.eu-guys are. It may just be a cover, so people don't get suspicious.
My guess is, that a lot of people are "testing", so, a lot of copycats are going about, with different agendas. I am still wondering, since even if it is more than one entity, there must be some players in there, who have a lot of BTC to burn.

True, you can easily set up a site and then operate under that name. Still, I am also not sure about their endgame. Putting so much money into this, there must be a plan.

I was thinking perhaps it is some large mining operators trying to force users to pay bigger fees. If you think about it and say they own 30% of the mining power (whatever big Chinese farm) then 30% of the expenses flow back to them (if those transactions go through at all) and they get even more revenue from increased block fees, since users are forced due to the large network activity.

But I wonder how the math works out?  Would they really make enough to cover the cost of the attacks?  The tx fees are really small, and to get your tx priority does not take very much increase.  So I wonder even if they did make money on it, would it be enough money to make it worth while?
138  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Paypal / Need Bitcoin on: July 13, 2015, 04:35:14 PM
Check out Localbitcoins, I think that is the best place. But you will have to pay a premium because no one wants to accept pay pal.  It is reversible so it is easy to get scammed as a btc seller.
139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whats The Best way to buy 10 BITCOINS on: July 13, 2015, 04:34:01 PM
AFAIK coinbase is the only one that uses ach.  I have seen goods on LBC as well as cash.  Purse.io lets you buy crap from amazon and ship it, and trade that for btc.  I never used this but it is supposed to be a good service.  I think for you the best way is to get a money wire from the bank to an exchange, I like cex.io, and then buy the btc that way.  There is no cheap way to do it, even ach with coinbase they charge you a huge 1% fee.  Maybe in the future you can get smaller fees but right now it is expensive to get in to bitcoins, unless you want to buy a large amount.  I like cex.io because they do not charge a fee on top of their regular exchange fee for money wire.  So you have to do the math but it might be your cheapest option as far as fees go.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ascension | +2421% in 4 days, and a 80 BTC buy walls, buy it or not? Fast on: July 13, 2015, 04:29:55 PM
Wow yeah look at that distribution.  Looks like someone is trying to get rid of accumulated coins Smiley

You might be able to make money riding the waves, but be careful not to buy too much of them, or you will become the biggest holder!
