301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miners are all hitting close to the cap currently on: June 16, 2015, 10:14:09 PM
Spikes like this are the exact reason for the need of increasing the size earlier than waiting. I do wonder why there are so many transactions going about today though.

Yes exactly, and the problem is that Gavin has said that it could take some months to get the change implemented.  That is why he is pushing for action now.  If he waits then it will be too late in the future to make the change fast enough to prevent problems.  And the side chain nonsense is not ready for the prime time, I wish those guys to get rid of their conflicts and make what needs to happen for the community  in stead of lining their own pockets.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are 'very excited' said Bitpay on: June 16, 2015, 09:49:06 PM
I think it is interesting that banks want to use the technology, but at the same time are opposing bitcoins in general.  They want to have their cake and eat it too.  I am not a fan of banks, in fact they are the great satan of our day.  It is sad for me to see them embracing the blockchain technology.
303  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ 777Coin Signature & Personal MSG Campaign ★☆★ Newb to Hero [RE-OPEN] on: June 16, 2015, 09:26:37 PM
Hello, I have upgraded to SR member, I would like to upgrade my sig campaign here please.  If possible I would like to get into one of the higher paying senior limited positions, although I am not sure what I need to do to qualify for this.  Thanks.

My current post count is 242, but to make things simple we can just wait until the next week period for the upgrade.

Hello, I am just wondering if you saw this yet.  Thanks!

If you're in the US it is a little bit of a grey area. They might try to nail you as a money transmitter.

Yes, if using LBC just be sure to know what the rules are in your area.  I hear scary stories in the usa so be careful with your transactions.  If you end up selling bitcoins to a dealer, whether or not you knew what was going on you could still get charged with a crime.  There might be ways to protect yourself, like make a customer sign a waiver or something that could indicate that you are not trying to make a crime.

Site offline. Scam?

That was fast.  Has anyone got paid from this site yet?  I was thinking of trying it but now I am glad I waited.  Is there a tx or some proof of payment?  Or is this site really gone already?

310  Economy / Gambling / Re: what way did you earn your 1st bitcoin! on: June 16, 2015, 05:54:52 AM
I only gamble small amounts so I am far from winning 1 btc.  On the plus side I am far from losing 1 btc too.  I don't like to lose so its really fun for me to bet pennies.  I still have fun even though no money is at stake.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ShapeShift Leaves New York, Choosing Not to Comply with BitLicense on: June 16, 2015, 05:38:34 AM
Cheers to Shapeshift!  This is what we need from our companies to fight stupid regulations.

And Mike, the 5000$ in California is much worse than just a tax, it is specifically designed to have a chilling effect on bitcoins.  But it makes no sense because businesses will just set up shop elsewhere.  I think the biggest impact is on small startups that want to use bitcoins.  Not all businesses consider 5k a small fee.  Also if I read the law correctly this would even stop people from running a small website to sell things, or sell on ebay or amazon for coins.  This rule is not just a tax, it is yet another law bought by special interests.  And you are right, the future of crypto regulation is very murky.  Best of luck with your business Mike!
312  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MovieTickets.com Brings Bitcoin to Over 900 US Movie Theaters on: June 16, 2015, 05:25:51 AM
This is a huge announcement.  Everyone goes to the movies, let us hope that we have a nice and visible bitcoin logo somewhere on their website, but it would be even better to have a logo in the theaters.  This is perfect, good visibility for bitcoins AND in a positive way.  After all the negative stories lately it is good to have a positive announcement.
313  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Tips From flutterclub.com on: June 16, 2015, 12:11:02 AM
I am confused. Since it appears to be a sports book, why would a sports book give out tips that would likely cause players to win(if tips are good) thus causing a loss to the casino ?

The odds are adjusted on sportsbooks so that the house should always win.  If there is a heavy betting on one team, the odds will be adjusted so that you have to bet $20 to win 5$, or something like that.  So if they give out tips, and as a result more money gets bet through their site, they win on higher volume no matter which team wins.
314  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitDice.me - Now incorporated in Costa Rica! on: June 15, 2015, 07:44:03 PM
Congratulation on the news, but I am really interested in the new game.  I have heard before that there isnothing new under the sun so I am wanting to see what you guys come up with.  Is it squashing frogs?  Because I could really like a game with squashing frogs!
315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: June 15, 2015, 07:40:19 PM
i suggest you don't try cloud mining right now, because now cloud mining is a ponzi scheme and for me cloud mining not profitable

You can say that some cloud mining is a ponzi, but I think it is wrong to say that all of them are.  I have good experience with hashnest.  But you have to understand the risks involved, like the difficulty increase and that they are making a new generation of asics soon.  But the nice thing is that you can still sell at any time the hash you bought without a transaction fee.  Looking at the market even s2 hash is still for sale, so I think that it is ok to get some s5 with the next generation coming.

Sure there are ponzis like BCS, but that is why you must research before you buy into any cloud service.  But you can;t say with a straight face that they are all ponzis.  Just because you did not make money does not mean that the investment is bad.

Just in case the original link goes offline forever, here's the guy:

OK so this makes the original post funnier.  At first I didn't really see much humor, I just thought it was kind of sad that someone spent the time to type that out.  But it this guy is actually a math man then it is a little bit funny.
317  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Experience with Crypto Coin Wallet Cards on: June 15, 2015, 07:25:53 PM
Ok, so I am looking at these and honestly I don't see what the point is.  If I want cold storage I could get a better option like the Ledger for pretty cheap, or just make a paper wallet.  I can also get an app for my phone that is better.  I must admit that I like having a choice in colors but I don't really see any advantage here.
318  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: CrazyPonzi.com - Anyone tried this ? on: June 15, 2015, 04:18:15 PM
Yes, this is no ta scam it is gambling.  The dev has set it up so that he wins by not running away with your money.

I made a deposit and played the minimum amount.  I won!   OK so its not much but it is still really fun to play.  Here is how the numbers work out:

I put in .001 btc.  My bet was covered, for a payout of .0014.  Technically this is a 40% return, but if you get a payout then the house takes a cut.  They take a cut of 10%, BUT this is 10% of the whole amount, not the 40%.  So I end up with .00126 and not .0014.  In other words this is not anywhere near 40% if you win.  BUT it is still 26% which is not bad for 120 hours of play.

It is really fun and I put my money back in to a deposit to see if I can make it bigger.  This game is fun!

p.s. they changed it from crazy ponzi to "Chan Profit" (http://www.chainprofit.com) if anyone is wondering.

Hi welcome to the forums!   I think this is a great place to start if you have been out of the game.  There is a sub forum for news, and also a sub forum for pretty much everything.  This place is really active and to me seems like a central hub in the world of bitcoins.
320  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ ANN ] cryptoinvester.com on: June 15, 2015, 12:51:11 AM
Interesting, this is the first time I have seen in one of these threads an investment opportunity with realistic numbers.  I don't know about 2% daily, but with a good arbitrage bot this seems very possible.  I am waiting to see if anyone has tried this yet, I hate to be the first one on the ship.
