181  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Oyster instant bitcoin lottery raffle style game on: July 06, 2015, 09:36:41 PM
Thanks for making this game, I like it.  It reminds me a little bit of chain profit but in stead of waiting 120 hours you wait 4 minutes?  I will have to play this to check it out Wink
182  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americas Gay Imam Abdullah: the holy homo on: July 05, 2015, 11:44:27 PM
Well good for him.  What those guys don't realize is that gay people don't have a choice to be gay or not.  It is not like choosing a beer or whether to smoke.  It is something that they are born with.  So another way to look is that God made them that way.  Would God make a person only for that person to live to suffer?  Or maybe that some people don't get to enjoy the intimacy of a relationship, while others do?

But even if it IS a choice, then still I think that it is not any of my business who can be in a relationship.  Just imagine that, if someone told you who you can date or marry.  Remember when the usa you could not date black/white people together?  This is just more of the same, but good because now they can live in peace I hope.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: July 05, 2015, 11:44:02 PM
MarKus is working on a fix. I have reported this to him a long time ago.
This weekend he will finally have time to fix it, and then in the future
a bigger update. Smiley

Any idea how the update is coming? If you have his ear, could you get him to pop in and here and say something?

I'd rather prefer Markus to join the discussion more regularly, e.g. on a weekly basis. This would make a better impression, even if he just talks about ideas.

Yes I think so, because when he is gone for so long everyone thinks that the development is gone, and the price of the coin suffers.  I don't expect to get rich from QTL coins, but it would be nice if I didn't get wiped out too.

An update tomorrow, that is exciting.  It will be the first one in a while, I think this will be good for the QTL.
184  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What places do you do your shopping online? on: July 05, 2015, 11:34:19 PM
I like to start looking at amazon, they have good prices and you can't beat the prime shipping.  If there is a specialty item I look at specialty store, B&H is good, I like Musician's friend and Sweetwater too.  It just depends on what I am buying.
185  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Vote] Who did 911? on: July 05, 2015, 11:30:36 PM
I dont know that I can say it was a grand conspiracy, it does look like the terrorists did it.  However there are some really strange things going on at the pentagon explosion, and that one looks like it might be suspicious.  It would maybe be possible for the government to plan something like that last minute.  It is hard to believe some of the theories out there.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The BITTREX de-listing SCAM on: July 04, 2015, 05:38:08 PM
The worst thing about this bittrex stuff is that whether or not they are intentionally scamming, because they are so fast to delist coins, it really makes for pump and dump.  You are forced to sell coins that you might want to keep, and if you are not checking the site all the time, then oyu will just lose the coins.  I have started to use other exchanges in stead because of this.  I had a small stash of epy for example.  The price dropped to nothing, but so what, I can just hold.  But it gets the delisted message, so I transfer to another exchange.  But the transfer never goes through, and both exchanges say it is not their fault.  Meanwhile epy has a rally and my coins are lost in limbo somewhere.  So I miss out on an opportunity to make some money.  I am not crying because I only had some dust in there basically, but it is still annoying.  I wish they would not delist so fast on there.
187  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: http://www.bitcoinaliens.com/ Free Bitcoin App Review on: July 04, 2015, 05:32:30 PM
I think also that a faucet is a waste of time.  You can do a sig campaign even as a noobie, but you have to check this thread to see what is currently offered.  Then in no time you will be a jr member, and you can make some nice money for making posts that you would be making anyways.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Old Bitcoin mining Rig on: July 04, 2015, 05:29:53 PM
I agree, I think that you could use it for alt coins.  Some alt coins can really rise in value, so I would rotate between shit coins with the lowest difficulty, and save  them up for a spike in price.  I don't think you are going to make money for sure like this, and it might take some time, but it is your best chance with an old rig for gpu imo.
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Twister - uncensored microblogging platform based on BitCoin on: July 03, 2015, 07:15:54 PM
I don't understand, why would using the protocols give it an advantage over twitter?  Would it really make any difference to the end user?
190  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin girls on: July 03, 2015, 07:13:16 PM
You need to start with the rock hard abs darling.  Then the nerd women will be all over you.  Or at least wash the chicken bones out of your beard!
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the reason why Satoshi didnt use his 500k-1Million Bitcoins on: July 03, 2015, 07:10:41 PM
Assuming he is alive, the strategy that makes the most sense is to slowly sell them off over time.  No one would be stupid enough to dump them all at once.  OK maybe someone out there would be.  It is strange to think that Satoshi has all this money and would not want to cash it in.

But if you think that satoshi is just an alias for a group of developers, then things become a little more interesting.  Smiley
192  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign??? on: July 03, 2015, 07:04:59 PM
I don't think so.  The problem is with this rule we would be forced to make clickbait posts.  Plus who gets credit, the OP only?  How do you tell if page 3/15 in a thread was viewed as many times as page 7?  I think the basic idea is good, but it might need some serious refinement to make sense.  But after everything is said, I would not want to join such a campaign because it would be too much of a pita to track the numbers.
193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello Everyone! Not new to Bitcoin or the forum but time to introduce myself. on: July 02, 2015, 04:05:40 PM
Hello, and welcome to the forums!  Now that you know about things, you should post here too.  Congrats on the farm!  I want to get a mining rig, but my electricity starts at 20 cents /kwh, and is tiered from there.
194  Other / Off-topic / Re: Questions Related to Provabilitiy on: July 02, 2015, 04:02:59 PM
Also you might have more luck looking in the gambling sections, there is more information about these things over there.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: some adresses with private keys and transactoins on: July 02, 2015, 04:00:29 PM
here we go again...

someone trying to scare people...

many people will think "oh no all keys are hacked"
this was done last year, and the joke of the scare tactic is that the directory of addresses dont have matching privkeys beyond the first page. it's just an old april fools prank. so before everyone starts running for the hills, learn about this fake directory and relax and laugh.. your funds are not at risk

Thanks.  I didn't really understand this post.  But this is why I use complex passwords that would be more or less impossible for modern computers to brute force.  Or at least I hope that is the case.
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Video: Coinmap Timeline in Action on: July 02, 2015, 03:57:49 PM
That is a really good video.  I didnt' realize how much activity was in the usa and europe, I thought that the asian markets would be more volume.  Thanks for the link!
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former Silk Road DEA Agent Pleads Guilty to Bitcoin Theft on: July 02, 2015, 03:55:45 PM
I hope those bastard cops (yeah I know they're not police, they're fed agents, but they're all the same) get life time prison too.
Also this case shows everyone "Bitcoin is not anonymous".

I don't think so.  Federal cops are not always tied to a specific location.  Most "local" cops will have an interest in the community in which they live.  But like always, one bad egg ruins it for everyone.  But I hope they throw the book at him to make an example.  Somehow I doubt he will be punished as hard as the bad guys he was trying to catch.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinfloor Launches Broker-Based UK Bitcoin Marketplace on: July 02, 2015, 03:48:51 PM
Is this basically the same thing as LBC?  I didn't' know there were professional bitcoin brokers lol.  This will be interesting to see if they can expand out of the UK and to other places.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Interest in Bitcoin Began to Wane? on: July 01, 2015, 06:35:25 PM
The number of posts on bitcointalk is a good indicator of interest in Bitcoin. There are not as many posts as last year, probably because there is less interest as the price drops. When we finally get rockets launches the number of posts will increase exponentially.
I would definitely say no. This is a very wrong assumption.
Maybe in 2013 the problem wasn't persistent as it is today, and such statistics could have been valid. The problem is that the influx of new members and posts are caused by signature campaign spammers and shills.
We can't really tell if we had 1 new member or 10 000 shills. I would definitely not consider using the statistics from this forum as an indicator of interest.

We should be considering other things.

Yes and also certain events like Mt. Gox will always cause a spike in activity posts here, so I thnik you can not just make a blanket statement that pure volume on these forums indicates interest.

I think the article makes some good points, but in general misses the forest for the trees.  I like what I see lately with nasdaq, WSJ, and some other giants talking about bitcoins with positive spins.  To me this is the most important indicator.  Then soon after cryptos seep from the geek world to the regular world, it will grow.  I really do think that cryptos are the future, and there is not any point to worry about them going away.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin... What's the point of it? Are you all deluded?!! on: July 01, 2015, 06:30:07 PM
Ok so this is a common ignorance with currencies.  Dollars are only valuable because we all agree they are.  They are backed by nothing.  But you mention gold right?  What about that, why is it worth anything?  Only because we agree that it is.  Tomorrow we could all agree that rocks are valuable, then start buying things with those.

It really is that simple.  You can find really complicated academic papers on it if you want, but it only comes down to what we all collectively agree.  We collectively agree that bitcoins are worth ~255$ at this minute, and so they are.  Everything else, like the technology, is secondary to this simple fact.
