141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: July 13, 2015, 02:36:17 AM
"Graphs coming soon"

This will be great, maybe this will become a replacement for coinigy and cryptrader.

I have a request, documentation Wink  some of the features are not 100% clear how they will act, at least not to me.  So it would be nice to have a basic run down of things.  I know that it is not easy to type it up, and I would even do it but i don't have the knowledge of the program.

Edit:  I got this error message: "error: catch orderbook 1088 , object reference not set to an instance of an object" and the trader stopped.  This was advanced ping pong.  I have no idea why this has happened.

Edit edit:  same thing again.  Coin is DRKT, idk if that matters.  Maybe I will try a different coin later.
142  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: ChainProfit.com - Anyone tried this ? on: July 13, 2015, 02:20:44 AM
It is interesting to see that even after raising the base to 0.01 BTC, there are no short of players in the game. In fact, the number of players are rapidly increasing. This shows, if you run a game honestly, players will eventually find you. A good lesson for scammy ponzi operators on this board.

Yes, but I put a deposit many days ago and it still did not get into the site.  I pm'd the dev, but it still is not there.  Am I the only one having these troubles depositing money?  I can't play the game if I can't deposit!
143  Economy / Economics / Re: If banks start to talk about Bitcoin ... on: July 12, 2015, 05:24:10 PM
It is inevitable that banks will get in, if we assume that btc is here to stay.  I heard that citibank is making their own crypto.  This sounds bad, but actually it is good.  Right now the major barrier to wider adoption is that it is a total pita to buy btc.  But it you have citicoin or wtf ever they are calling it, then it will be traded on exchanges and you can easily get some btc if you want without the headaches of money wires.  If your average guy sees that big banks trust btc, then they will trust it too (because banks are trusty!! ha!).  Just think what will happen to the market cap if only 1% of people in usa alone start hodling btc!  The previous bubble will be nothing by comparison.

Isn't the daily mail a tabloid like the enquirer?  I think these news places have good stories for fun, but for actual news I would to pay too much attention to it.  Fun story though!
145  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: To da moon and miner prices on: July 12, 2015, 05:11:10 PM
I'm worried because every time in the last year and a half that I've brought in a large amount of BTC from sales or hosting invoices, the price suddenly dropped before I could cash out. And within the next week I'll be listing for sale something like 50BTC worth of stuff, so really I expect the price to drop at least 10% about Thursday (assuming I sell on Wednesday).

HAHA!  Yes, I am thinking of getting some more btc, and if I do then the bull run will die and it will drop back down to 250$, because that is always what happens!

But yes, I think that there may be an increase in mining equipment costs.  I noticed that on hashnest the price of hash has a strong inverse correlation to btc price, but with this last week run the price of hash has been pretty solid and does not show the usual inverse relationship as strong as it usually does.  To me this shows that people are willing to pay more for hash/mining equipment as price rises.  And honestly, when I bought in to the hash it was .3% a DAY, which doesn't sound like a lot but geeze there should not be any investment that pays so much, because usually investors will bid this up until the return is lower.  As the market cap increases, and you see more traditional investors get in to the game, expect these strange market inefficiencies to minimize over time.  Sooner or later hashnsest should have a 10% yearly return, not monthly!  But I think this will also be the case with equipments, up to a point.
146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ultimate Mycelium Wallet User Guide for Beginners (tutorial) on: July 12, 2015, 04:51:23 PM
Hey everyone,

I just created a tutorial for Mycelium Android wallet. It is really for beginners, ideal for first time users. This is the ultimate "for dummies" version.

Feedback not only welcome, highly encouraged!

Link: http://satoshicounter.com/2015/07/09/how-to-use-the-mycelium-bitcoin-wallet-an-easy-user-guide/

Thanks for the guide.  I was on the fence about getting a mobile wallet, mostly too lazy to find a good one.  Now I have it!  Thanks Smiley
147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Exchange Comparison on: July 12, 2015, 04:46:45 PM
Hi I like the site.

You are missing cryptsy, poloniex, and bittrex from the exchanges that I use.  It would be nice to see a trade % on the chart for comparison, as well as the fee to get your coin/money out (which can vary a lot).  Also cost to get money in, because some places like coinbase charge a lot to make fiat into btc.
148  Economy / Gambling / Re: Discussion | Enter Gambling Bet with 52.4288 BTC using Martingale Technique ! on: July 12, 2015, 03:27:59 AM
I never tried this, but I guess it depends on luck.  Keep in mind that roulette is usually at least 2-3% house edge for b/r because of the 0, 00, and 000.  You could make an experiment with dust, if there is a casino that takes it, so bet with 5242 satoshi and see what happens.  That would be interesting!  you would have to make a win/ lose condition.  Lose is obviously you lose your money, but maybe the win condition could be that you double your original wager.
149  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: over 130 confirmations and still pending on: July 12, 2015, 03:21:13 AM
There has been some network "tests" or "attacks" lately, so it might be stuck because of this.  If your fee that you paid was too small then it might not be getting confirmed because of this.  Next time use a little bit more transaction fee and it should confirm quickly.
150  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democrats Should Change Their Name over Slavery, Racist History on: July 11, 2015, 06:39:46 PM
If that's the case then Republicans should also change their name due to their history of religious exploitation, gay bashing, and general discrimination over immigrants.

Actually, here's a better idea - both parties disband and the country lets new parties form base don the real state of politics! This would enable a true democracy.

The history of these parties is really strange.  Did you know that before they became the codpiece of big industry, the republicans were the reform party?  Its true!

But its not just the democrats.  Many of the old money families in america build their wealth on the backs of slaves.  I used to think about reparations being ridiculous, but if you see the history of it, then you see that those families are still rich.  If some of those slaves got paid, sure many would not have made anything but some of them would have made business and wealth.  So my point is that you can't bring up old history and point fingers, because so many people were a part of it.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: July 11, 2015, 06:34:10 PM
Well, itīs pretty pointless to pump up the price if the buy book doesnīt follow and here itīs rather bare. No meaningful support in sight unfortunately. Maybe itīll change, weīll see.

So everything normalizing depends on more people depositing more BTC to add buy support to the order book while waiting for rewards to be restored to previous levels...

But it's not a ponzi right?

Haha still here, you guys have to get a life, there is lots of good stuff to do beyond trolling.  Try a movie or dating a nice girl.  I feel sorry for you guys.
152  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best BTC wallet? on: July 11, 2015, 06:30:53 PM
There are different wallets, and each is good in its own way.  Even online wallets can be good for small money.  I suggest you try out a few, and put in some dust to see how you like it.  My favorite is electrum, but I cant say that it is the best.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New To Bitcoin! on: July 11, 2015, 05:13:42 AM
Welcome to the forums, and welcome to bitcoins!  Once you get started her there is no going back, this is the future.  Strap in and hang on!
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price will convince you that a Huge new up-move has finally started? on: July 11, 2015, 05:07:18 AM
For me it has nothing to do with price, but how well support is tested.  If we get some nice bounce at a certain level for at least a few weeks then we have a winner, otherwise it is just a transitory move and just a part of the normal volatility.
155  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi Game! Deposits start at .001btc on: July 11, 2015, 05:04:42 AM
Yes good luck to you, I don't think anyone will play this.  I certainly wont, maybe I would if it was a highly trusted sr member or above, but it is too risky to give money to someone I don't know.  Good luck!
156  Economy / Economics / Re: Just wanted to post the break down of my investments on: July 11, 2015, 05:02:44 AM
100% bitcoin that's all, this thing is gonna skyrocke tin few weeks months, rest assured about that

actually i didn't invest a penny, i acquired my btc with fast mining  Grin

How did you do 'fast mining' lol. Yes, a huge spike in bitcoin is coming so all the people here who have put their money in different places, I think its a good time to put it at once place and just hold. It won't be such a bad idea, it would be the easiest and effortless movement you would have to do. Really advise to just keep calm and hold down, good days are coming Wink

Shhhh, dont tell anyone, I still need some time to buy more coins!

To op, I think gambling is good for an entertainment, but as an investment it is a bad idea.  For cloud mining I like hashnest.  They build that hardware so it makes sense to sell it to you.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Node that relayed the recent "Spam" attack/test on: July 11, 2015, 04:58:11 AM
Soo....? Your not interested in what the intent of it was?
Do you think it was a Chinese Pool/Miner or Chinese Government or other?

I'm sure many are speculating, and the source transaction ( and by proxy the IP ) have been bouncing around for a while, I have just begun to hear a lot of dicy things as people begin to get spooked.  Words like "Gov't" and "Centralize" and "Someone should do something".

This has been a very low cost attack, the attacker has likely only had to shell out $20,000 to sustain it, possibly less.  If it was the Chinese Gov't it wouldn't be 50,000 transactions in the mempool it would be 50,000,000.  The could dump 20 million into the network without batting an eye.

If anything, it is likely a bank wanting to know if they can transfer their remittance into bitcoin.  They noticed the network didn't have volume so they simply bought $20,000 worth of volume.  That's like a dinner party to these corps.  Petty cash.

All we've had to do is dump an extra dime or two into transaction fees.  Network is still fine, Transaction time (for those who pay the toll) are still fine.  Only micropayments are broken now.

This could go on forever and I wouldn't care... just so long as no one acts rashly to "do something" on a problem that isn't broke.

EDIT: Got zero happy there.  FTFY

Yes I was thinking a similar thing.  20k is a lot to spend for anyone but a big guy, so whoever it is is testing the network for their own reasons.  Whether or not they have bad things in mind is another matter.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Raise the minimum transaction fee on: July 11, 2015, 04:53:57 AM
I agree with most of the above, the cost system works pretty well and I don't think that changing it is the solution to the spam problem.   There are some good solutions but imo this isn't one of them.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: July 11, 2015, 01:06:09 AM
Update 2.3.2.0 has been released.. I'll be watching this thread for any bug reports.
http://quatloos.org/downloads/Quatloo-Trader2.3.zip

You must use the new update Newtonsoft.json.dll included in the download.  the previous version will cause an error.

Great!  Is there a changelog somewhere?  I can't seem to find it anywhere.

The official announcement from the Quatloo Twitter channel:

https://twitter.com/quatloocoin

It says:

"#QTL Cryptsy had an outage .. api was not functional the last 36hrs. We regret that we must delay the Quatloo Trader update till Friday."

Thank you sir, looks like an update by tonight Smiley  I don't usually get excited by software updates!
