261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Debit Cards: A Real Alternative? on: June 22, 2015, 08:54:51 PM
This is great with all of the cards coming out.  It makes it really easy to use your bitcoins in stead of having to deal with wire transfers, 2 week waits, and other nonsense just to turn crypto back into fiat.  Maybe the fees are high right now but I hope that eventually there will be more competition and the fees will go down a little.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: June 22, 2015, 08:50:51 PM
I am sad that there are so many people here actually who are happy at this.  It does not reflect well on you.  Many scrypt.cc customers are very stressed about this and they don't need trolls filling up this thread with hate.

We will see, if the site is back up in a week or so, then we will see whether it is a scam this time.  But please stop blaming the victim, even if it does turn out to be a scam I don't blame the people who got hurt.  It is just evil to blame them.  You need to blame who is at fault: the hacker is the real bad guy, and if he is imaginary then the real bad guy is the company.

Let us all hope that this is not a scam and that the company will come back.  I do not hate you if you are a cc customer, I hope the best for everyone.
263  Economy / Gambling / Re: CryptoBetfair.com | 100% Provably Fair | More than a casino, a community. on: June 21, 2015, 08:02:41 PM
2 old time user that never post more than a year come back and launch a gambling site?lol beware

I don't know why this thread has accusations like this.  OK so I don't know these devs, but cmon people think about it.  Who is going to make more money, if one guy steals your .05 btc deposit, or one guy that build a successful casino with a nice volume.  Even if it is a small volume, the house edge is much better than stealing.

Anyways this site looks like it is fun, I will have to see when I get the chance.  I like that you plan to add more games too, because I am not too excited about dice, coin drop, and wheel.  Best of luck to your casino!
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Block Size Conflict Ends With Latest Update on: June 21, 2015, 07:54:20 PM
so they anticipated the hard fork, to january instead of the planned march

also if it will double every two years for twenty years it mean a maximum of 256MB, which is around 1000tx max per seconds, still far below what it is visa right now

Wait, I don't understand, if it doubles every 2 years, it is 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, right?  It starts at 8 then doubles 10 times?  I am not so good at math, so maybe I am misunderstanding it.  But I am glad to see something move forward on this issue.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charts by Country of localbitcoins.com transactions on: June 21, 2015, 07:46:42 PM
And one of the countries that is very interesting at the moment is unfortunately missing; Greece. Would be interesting to see if it is spiking right now!

Yes there has been a run on banks in Greece last week, but afaik there is no evidence that people are putting this money into bitcoins.  There is speculations that this is the reason for the rally, but the price was depressed too far anyway and was ripe for a rally.

But thanks for this chart it is good reading.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin better than litecoin? on: June 21, 2015, 07:41:20 PM
The question isn't clear. A lot of people are saying "Bitcoin" when they mean "XTcoin."

lol, exactly.  When the fork happens it will be interesting to see the die hards make a stand and lose all of their coins until they realize that no one cares and then they will have to update too.

I think that ltc or btc isn't better, but if something happens to btc (like the fud people win, I have no idea why they want to destroy btc) then ltc is almost the same thing, it is well known and trusted, and it can step up to replace bitcoins if needed.  Otherwise since more people want to use bitcoins I guess that is the better one but it is good to have an alternative.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn: In about 1-2 weeks, Bitcoin XT will include support for 20mb blocks on: June 21, 2015, 07:34:56 PM
MOD: Please move this to the altcoin section.

Sorry this talk is about bitcoins and should be here in this section.

Westin, how do you think there will be two chains?  Even if there is a second 5% chain, no one will take those coins as payment, and no one will want to mine on that chain.  Even if there are those coins they will be useless if nobody will use them.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DRKT] Full POS Multipool trading on BITTREX, C-Cex, Yobit and Bluetrade on: June 21, 2015, 07:25:25 PM
In case someone if still wondering if this could possibly be a scam, take a look at the distribution: it's actually fair, and the top wallets have just around 1BTC worth of DRKT.

This is a nice distribution.  This chart looks like it is from bittrex.  Does anyone know if a chart with all the exchanges and off exchange wallets are available?  Just bittrex may not show the whole picture, but it does look nice.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are 'very excited' said Bitpay on: June 20, 2015, 05:22:38 PM
They're very excited about building their own version for control. Or perhaps, Bitpay may be looking to be acquired or bought out.

I didn't think about it, but getting bought out would be very nice for bitpay.  Interesting angle!
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Exchanges , contradiction ? on: June 20, 2015, 05:09:05 PM
There are many exchanges which do not require personal data. And there are many objects with how to exchange Bitcoins for real money. I use these.
But there are people who do not hide their identity and origin of the money - they do not care.
Everyone decides for himself. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous - that will remain anonymous.

Mind giving some names and some links because all the exchange that I knew so far require either Residence + ID/passport or simply ID/Passport so you can start exchanging .
Only way I use to exchange to avoid those things is on forums like here on the currency exchange section or on other forums with the same section . that's the only solution

All of them?  You can just give the exchanges a fake name if you want.  I don't use any that require any type of verification, only if you want to have large transactions every day.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin users: Will bitcoin ever be used and fully adapted as a currency? on: June 20, 2015, 05:03:07 PM
Eventually bitcoins will replace the dollar as the international electronic currency Smiley  Everything is online now, amazon wants to deliver groceries to your front door with drones!  Things are changing and I can see a future where most transactions for goods and services are done online using bitcoins.  International commerce in particular will be interesting for bitcoins.

FTFY... paper money will still be required.

Yeah of course we will still have paper money but I imagine that bitcoin is very attractive for international money transfers, and it will take over as the main currency used by everyone.

Hi I made a little bit of hash yesterday, I was just wondering when the pool will pay to my wallet?  I am assuming that it is once a day, but the pool website does not say when this is.  I am not upset about it.  I am just curious.
273  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: √ EnlargerOk 190% for 19 days ⇔ 1%+2%+...+19%=190% Advanced affiliate program on: June 19, 2015, 06:45:39 PM
So how does this work, you post on facebook and get paid to promote stuff?  But why do you need a deposit?  This is confusing, and suspicious.  Please edit your first post to help us understand better what this site is?  If you want to pay us why do we need to pay you first?
274  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinroll / Luckyhash / Dicecoin - same codebase. What is it? on: June 19, 2015, 06:42:45 PM
I would be careful playing there unless you can find a review or other evidence that it is legit.
275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get Bitcoins other than mining and faucets on: June 19, 2015, 06:18:57 PM
Hi and welcome to the forums.  To me the best way to make some coins is offer a skill.  I promise that you must have some skill that you can sell here for some coin.  Or you can go to a site like fivrr where you can do almost anything and try to get someone to pay yo for it lol.  Just stay away from gambling, and also before investing in ANYTHING just make sure to read about it and find if it is a scam or not.  Unfortunately there is a lot of scams here sometimes.
276  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin beginner on: June 19, 2015, 06:03:48 PM
Hello Lady, its good to see some more ladies here Wink  Welcome to the forums and bitcoins!  Don't jump in too fast, there is a lot to learn.  Be careful to not get scammed, it can happen sometimes.  Basically just don't trust anyone lol.

I found for myself that coinbase is a good place to get started with buying coins.  I also have used poloniex, c cex, and bittex, and I like those too.  Have fun!
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin News/Price Update for Friday, June 19 on: June 19, 2015, 05:51:57 PM
Thanks for the summery.  This is a lot of interesting news this week.  I agree to me it looks like the price will stay 245-250 for a little while, but I am no expert.

I find the p2p lending case interesting.  So I thought if there was a default it would be really hard to get the money back.  But the size of the settlement is a little puzzling to me.  Also I wonder in the future how they will price the value of bitcoins for such things, as the currency is highly volatile and any number of arguments could be made by lawyers for the price to be used.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to my paper wallet? on: June 19, 2015, 05:45:07 PM
The fork is not supposed to take place unless all of the community of nodes and miners agrees that it should.  They will have a headache to set things up but for us end users there should not be any change, except for like Microguy says, the value of the coins may suffer from fear.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Exchanges , contradiction ? on: June 19, 2015, 05:43:24 PM
Most of people that use bitcoin their obvious answer probably is going to be "because it's annonymus and don't need my real informations and my account don't get limited" when you ask them why do you use Bitcoin .

I don't think anonymity is the primary factor.

There are two reason that people use Bitcoin, 1.) as a speculative investment, and 2.) to buy things they couldn't otherwise buy.

For me there is a third reason, that the banks are the great Satan of our day.  If the average person bothered to find out what the banks are doing there would blood in the streets.  Assuming the average person can understand "complex" things like derivatives and bribery.

Actually I don't care to be anonymous from the government, and I will pay taxes on my bitcoin things.  I would love to dodge taxes but uncle sam has a big dick and he never uses lube.

If I ever have lots of bitcoins (knock on the wood) I will use a mixer, but this is not to hide from governments but to hide from thieves finding my personal information and trying to rob or hack me.  I hope that some day I have this problem Smiley
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Solution to Block Size Debate on: June 19, 2015, 05:36:02 PM
I like this out of the box thinking.  I am not sure that this is the best solution to the limit, if there is an increase why not just make it every block?  With this solution you are basically averaging up the block size, no?  So in stead why not just make a small increase, like make the limit 1.5 mb, or 2mb instead?  This is a really good discussion though, if we can have discussions like this without trolls and fud, then we will generate some nice ideas.  I have faith in the talent and intelligence of this community.
