241  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: ★ REAL "Double Your Bitcoin" Opportunity! ★ Online Since 2011 ✌ on: June 25, 2015, 04:43:33 AM
I am skeptical, if this is legit, and since there is no time limit it could be legit (give me 50 years and I will double your coins for sure lol), then why is it in the gambling section?

I look at this like a mutual fund.  I would never give money to a mutual fund without knowing what they are investing in.  So can you explain what your revenue streams are, how much they pay on average, the chance that I will lose my money, or any other data that would make this a little more clear?  Thanks.
242  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: ChainProfit.com - 29+ BTC Invested | 140% Return | Running over two months now on: June 25, 2015, 01:22:20 AM
I think this thread should not be in investment games, it is clearly a straight up gambling.  I have won on this site a few times now, it is really fun.  The game is so much different, sometimes you have to wait a long time to find out if you get paid.  120 hours is a really long time!  I love the build up of suspense, it is so interesting because you are not playing against the house, you are not really playing against anyone.  It is just pure chance if someone decides to deposit enough to cover your bet.  I love it!
243  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Stockfunds - Stockfunds.org on: June 25, 2015, 01:18:46 AM
yeah, sure, 2 post noobie has nothing to do with this site.  I am not even going to click there.  Next time at least explain a little better what it is, I almost never click a link to learn more, I just ignore a post if it is not good enough.
244  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] TappaBit.com - A NEW Player Vs Player Social MINI Game on: June 25, 2015, 01:16:53 AM
Interesting. The "claim bits" feature doesn't appear to be working, which makes it hard for anyone to try the game. I'm probably not going to deposit unless I know what's going on.

I notice the homepage is extremely similar to bustabit.com: "99% skill 1% luck", "Play with your friends and beat your foes" vs "Play against friends or foes" , etc.  Is this game based on the same code or just an inspiration?

Also, if I'm understanding right the goal of the game is simply click the button, at exactly 30 seconds. This seems extremely easy to bot, and as it runs in a sandboxed browser, you really have no way of detecting even the simplest things like someone running a macro program.

While a nice idea, I don't think it's suitable for running on untrusted computers, doubly so if money is involved

This is exactly what I was thinking.  I guarantee that this is a game only for bots.  Also I think ping might be a problem, I live a good distance from main servers so my ping is not so good, and anyone living across the globe from this site will have a hard time to win.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why you join to P & D Group ? are you not trust with your self ? on: June 24, 2015, 02:49:33 AM
I don't think joining a group is worth it.  You can study the markets on your own and not waste money by giving it away .  Buyer beware!
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Augur alpha test: decentralized prediction markets on: June 24, 2015, 02:45:51 AM
This looks very interesting, but I fail to see how it is any different from gambling?  Gambling odds adjust based on wagers too.  So it looks to me like you get to bet on things besides sports teams.  Could I make one for anything, like if a celebrity is going to die this year or who will be elected?  Or is this restricted to financial things?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DRKT] Full POS Multipool trading on BITTREX, C-Cex, Yobit and Bluetrade on: June 23, 2015, 08:36:32 PM
It looks like one person dumped a ton of coins on the market, all at once dropping the price fro 3k to ~1k.  I don't mind though, I picked up a few cheap coins.

For the wallet, I only sent coins once but it was super fast.

Hey dev, how is the mobile wallet coming along?  I hope this is working soon and it won't kill my phone Smiley
248  Economy / Economics / Re: A currency or investment? on: June 23, 2015, 07:02:25 AM
lets face it, the price is so volatile that we have to look at it as an investment.  It will continue to be this way until (if) a large number of the population in the world uses it, and then that number of people stays about the same.  At that point the price might not fluctuate quite so much.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are getting stronger. Twenty years ago, ... on: June 23, 2015, 06:58:43 AM
This is the clever American strategy. First they will sell their debt in dollar. Then they will devalue the dollar so much, that the debt is nearly worthless. The countries, which usually purchase the American debt (China, Japan, GCC nations.etc) are left powerless, as they see their net wealth in the form of US treasury bonds decline day after day.

You know the money policies of the usa are so strange that I honestly think this is what is happening.  But the big problem for us is that everything is more expensive by a lot every year, but we are all (or most of us) not making more money every year to catch up.
250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware Wallets - Secure your Coins! :-) on: June 23, 2015, 06:07:36 AM
Some of the designs looks really cool. But the question is: do we really need them? I think they are pretty neat gadget but you don't really hardware wallet for anything you couldn't achieve without it.
You can buy it only if you like the awesome look of the device. I can be safe with standard offline, paper wallet...

I have bad luck with paper.  Cats pee on it, children eat it, and it catches on fire easy.  If you have bad luck like me then a HW wallet is great.  Ledger has a cheap one, I think it is $15, it is basically the same as their more expensive model with less shiny stuff.

I think the ledger blue looks sexy, and the Mycelium has the best slogan ever.  Maybe they are not for everyone, but I really like HW wallets.

Buying any type of miner and attempting to mine on your own will prob be unprofitable. If anything, take a look at some Cloud Mining Sites, yea they have fees, but the fees end up being cheaper than the power costs you would pay long term.

Some of these are ponzis.  Recently BCS took the money and ran away.  There are some things to look for for a scam, here is a good summary: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.msg9697654#msg9697654

So hashnest is the one I like, but there are others.  Just be careful, and make sure you understand what you are getting.  I like hashnest because you can sell back the hash at any time, you are not locked into a contract.  The returns are really good imo, and they have a top reputation in the community.  It is run by bitmain, one of the big makers of asics, so I am pretty sure it is legit.

Have fun, don't get lost in the rabbit hole.
252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need help keeping my bitcoin on: June 23, 2015, 05:32:09 AM
It depends on how much you plan to have.  If you have a small amount, like less than $20 worth, then I wouldn't even bother with anything special, just grab electrum and have at it.

If you are having a medium amount, maybe something like 50-200$, then look at ledger's cheap hardware wallet.  It is supposed to be good, maybe not as good as a trezor but it is also much cheaper, 15$ vs 100$.

If you have more , such as 200-thousands then you should get the best and most secure hardware wallet currently out there.  AFAIK this is the trezor but I didn't really research it much.

As others say you can make a paper wallet, but this makes me nervous because I lose things easy.
253  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Do you still really use faucet? on: June 23, 2015, 05:27:48 AM
At this time I decided stop to use faucet  because all wates of time. I think signature campaigns on Bitcointalk are better than other faucets.
yes of course better, but everyone started to know bitcoin through the faucet, and the longer you know bitcoin, then you will find the best way to produce bitcoin without spending a lot of time.

You know its true, my first coin was dust from a faucet.

I don't use them any more, I think it is a waste of time.  But my favorite was moonbitcoin because the coin built up over time so you could get an ok payout just by logging in once a day.

Hello, can you show us pictures of these please?
255  Economy / Goods / Re: Any interest in cupcakes for bitcoin? on: June 23, 2015, 05:07:39 AM
I like cupcakes, but here are my concerns.  First I would only want cupcakes of the highest quality, otherwise I might as well buy them at the local store.  Second I am concerned that they will stay good from shipping.  My house only has gorillas to deliver packages, and they always destroy things.  It is also hot here sometimes, so how would the cupcakes still be fresh if they are on my door step for 4 hours in 90 degree weather?

I wish you the best of luck.  I am not trying to be a pain, but these are the things that I would think about if I bought cupcakes from you.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocoin's and the future! and top 50 of the best coin's on: June 23, 2015, 05:03:28 AM
I think the way it will happen is that there will be maybe 10 coins that come out on top, and maybe some popular red herrings like doge that are used by certain communities or regions.

I vote Dark Tron, but only because I bought some for cheap this morning Tongue
257  Economy / Gambling / Re: POLL: Lottery Question Regarding Guaranteed 2,000,000 m฿ Jackpot on: June 23, 2015, 05:00:07 AM
I would buy 10, but only if the funds were held with a trusted escrow ahead of the draw.  I like the idea of such a large jackpot but I am skeptical that you will sell enough tickets for such a large jackpot to happen.  What about a raffle style drawing, where the winnings scale with how much is put in?
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to get legit free btc? on: June 23, 2015, 04:53:04 AM
Faucets can be fun, but for me they are a waste of time.  That being said my favorite was moonbitcoins, because you build up some dust but you don't have to go back and click every 15 minutes to make a decent number of satoshis.

I think you are best using a skill and selling it on the forums, or on a website like fivr.  You might even find a product that you can sell for bitcoins, it can be anything, but something that people want.  Think out side the box.  For example I really like Indonesian soy sauce, but no one has it where I live except fancy stores.  The exact brands like ABC that used to cost me 3$ a bottle go for 15$ here.  So maybe yo have access to a local product like that, that you can sell to people that don't have it where you live.
259  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me decide the name of my bitcoin gambling website on: June 23, 2015, 04:35:42 AM
I like the original name, bitcoin betting guide is easy to remember, and the name says it all.
260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: noobie requesting help on: June 22, 2015, 09:00:34 PM
Be careful, I have heard stories form people who burn out their computer from mining too much.  I don't think that computers, or at least the consumer computers, were really meant to be run at 100% processor for 24/7.  You can look into minergate, they let you choose how much cpu power to mine with.  I only tried it briefly so I can't say if it makes money, but you might have fun with it.  You might also want to look at grid coin, a really interesting way to mine and contribute at the same time.
