201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconventional Bitcoin Wallets on: July 01, 2015, 06:26:24 PM
More people get smart phones every day.  I applaud your efforts, and it is people like you who will push the technology forward and make innovations so more can use them.

HW wallets are the future, along with smart phones.  Everything is such first generation right now, but the real winning wallet hardware will be the one that lets you connect all of your accounts, fiat, altcoins, paypay, etc, in to one device.  This will be a thing the avergage consumer might use, and will draw more people in to using and accepting bitcoins.

Well guys, don't pull out your champagne just yet to celebrate our misery, the site is up, but slow, so things are looking good.  You are sad little people to be so happy at someone else losing money.
203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Definitive Beginner's Guide to Buying Bitcoins on: June 30, 2015, 08:01:13 AM
Good job on this guide.  I think it would make a good sticky Smiley
204  Other / Meta / Re: Is the proper abbreviation for the forum 'BTT' or 'BCT'? on: June 30, 2015, 07:58:32 AM
I always use BCT, but I think we need a custom emoticon to represent the forums just to make things easier.  Are there any ascii artists that care to make one?
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Conservatives vs. Liberals in Bitcoin - Will we or will we not change? on: June 30, 2015, 07:56:17 AM
LOL I misread the title.  But I am wondering if we can have instead of the donkey and elephant, a tortoise and a hare?  Please?
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Real Untold Story Of Government's Takedown of Silk Road on: June 30, 2015, 07:53:59 AM
wow thats crazy .. those cops broke every law on the books
I think that most people do not fully appreciate the loss of freedom in america from the bush administration.  And Mr. Hope and Change didn't actually change anything, he is just more of the same nonsense.  It is so easy for the cops to break the law now, by invoking some pretty strange rules.  But I guess this is the government we all chose.  If you want a better government then stop getting your politics from half time commercials Wink
207  Economy / Economics / Re: Greeks are rushing to Bitcoin on: June 30, 2015, 07:50:13 AM
I think it is hard to tell if the Greek people are buying coins or not.  But the media is making stories about bitcoins, so either way it is getting some good exposure as a legitimate storage of assets, instead of a way to buy illegal things.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 07:48:21 AM
Yes I agree that the financial leaders of the community could make a difference.  They need to make money on it, because usually better power is expensive to make and needs some subsidy.  That is the biggest reason that we don't see the rich people doing it I think.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Twitter Campaign for Greece ! Mustread for All on: June 30, 2015, 07:46:17 AM
Even though I've seen a lot of people doubting these campaigns, they can't hurt. The problem for Greeks is that most of them probably don't know how to buy/use Bitcoin nor do they understand it.
I've been watching Google trends and it looks like that Bitcoin is getting more attention recently. We need someone with a lot of followers from Greece to pick it up.

Yes, I think that the more important thing is all of the media that bitcoins is getting.  I just read an article on CNBC website, a pretty major outlet.  Sure it wasn't that well written but at least it has an audience.  I think the twitter thing can't hurt, and it might end up helping some people in Greece if they can get their money into bitcoins before the government steals it or the banks fold (yay fractional reserve banking!)
210  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I see whether a member has open loans or not? on: June 28, 2015, 04:49:44 PM
I think if you are asking about if they ave them for buying an account.  I would use an escrow, a good one like quickseller will be able to take a good look at the account and have the best chances of catching things like this.
211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greetings and Salutations on: June 28, 2015, 04:47:19 PM
Welcome!  Yes this is a very active place for cryptos.  I suggest that you might want to try some faucets to get started, I like moonbitcoin.  You won't make anything, but it is good to get used to sending transactions.  After you get used to it then stop with the faucets because they are a waste of time if you want money.

If that is your price for electricity, then you can make money for sure.  But you need some serious hardware, because that is what everyone is using today.  You can get a antminer s5 new for about 400$ I think, but you also need something like a raspberry pi to make it run, and maybe a powersupply too.  You might be better off getting s3's, or undervolted s3's and s1's used.  You can get them really cheap used.  Then point them to a mining pool.  You have to do the math to see what is the most efficient use of your money between getting used stuff or new stuff.  Because there is supposed to be a ew generation of hardware coming out soon, you might want to get the used stuf.

Good luck!
212  Other / Off-topic / Keep your children safe from crypto on: June 28, 2015, 03:54:33 PM
There is some crypto that is attacking our children, and we need to be careful about it Tongue  Obviously the safest thing is to keep your kids out of the pools, and maybe stay out yourself.  What effect this will have on the mining community is any one's guess.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: June 28, 2015, 12:46:50 AM
I am not sure why you guys spew so much hate here.  It is really sad and I hope you can work on that self esteem.  I think people who feel good at themselves don't treat other people this way.  But its ok, you only make yourself look bad at what you are saying.
214  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ### How I have made Quite a few Bitcoins over a week ### {Guide} on: June 28, 2015, 12:37:05 AM
Lol I never seen this one before.  It is always a warning when they say what it is not, rather than what it is.  SO I would need more informations, is it running a lemonade stand, opening a pizza parlor, margin forex trading, I mean it could be anything, and some things I won't want to do to make a buck lol.  And this better not be a guide on how to sell your used underwear on craigs list!
215  Other / Politics & Society / Re: jew american supreme court decides faggot "marriage" is a right on: June 28, 2015, 12:33:08 AM

Quote
WASHINGTON — In a long-sought victory for the gay rights movement, the Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage.

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote the majority opinion in the 5 to 4 decision. He was joined by the court’s four more liberal justices.

The decision, the culmination of decades of litigation and activism, came against the backdrop of fast-moving changes in public opinion, with polls indicating that most Americans now approve of same-sex marriage.

I don't think this guy is serious, I think he is just trolling us.  Look at his avatar!  Are there still people out there like this?  I don't meet any of them, but I guess there must be.  This is why I like to live in a blue state where the necks are not red.  People don't care if oyu live your life, they tend to their own life without trying to force an antiquated set of rules that they themselves do not follow.

And I was shocked to see that 4 of the justices feel that the constitutional right to freedom of religion is no longer something that this county has.  Think about it , and how close we are to a religious state, and it is really scary.
216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It’s Time to Legalize Polygamy on: June 28, 2015, 12:29:39 AM
To force mosques to have same sex marriages or be forced to loose all tax exemptions?

I don't believe the marriage-equality issue is about forcing religious organisations to conduct marriages which are counter to their inherent bigotry.

AFAIK marriage-equality deals solely with the issue of ensuring that all US States have to conduct and recognise marriages between two people, irrespective of their gender. It is a legal issue of ensuring gay couples can have the same rights in marriage as heterosexual couples.

The law does not concern forcing religious organisations to conduct gay marriages. Unless you know otherwise.

Yes this is a common misunderstanding, and literally the ONLY valid argument that christians have against legalizing gay marriage.  But in reality there is no evedince that churches will be forced to marry gay people.  They just have to deal with other churches doing it if they so choose.

I think on the basic idea polygamy is ok, and there should be no problem with it.  But most of the time as mentioned above it is for unequal relationships.  Like in cults, and usually it involves minors too.  But it should be legal anyways, its like making piano wire illegal because someone used it to kill once before.  But anyway I think that people who want this lifestyle can have it, they just must have it "off the books", at least in america.

And don't get me started with muslims and how they treat their women, that is a whole other pandoras box.
217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [2015] A guide to investing in bitcoin on: June 27, 2015, 02:32:07 AM
I think, this needs to be made sticky in Investment Based Games section.

Why?

I don't see it speaking about cloudmining or ponzies or scams Huh

This is a introductory and basic text, I don't think the investor based games are meant for newbies only

Actually this is a really good text, I see people here asking about these things all the time.  I agree that it would be a good sticky to help out the noobs with basic questions.  It is not that the article has unique information, but that the article presents the information in an accessible way.
218  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is BitLicense A Good Thing? on: June 27, 2015, 02:27:13 AM
BitLicense is good thing. It secure the transaction and protest terrorism and money laundering.
In recent trend, follow that illegal business is running by using bitcoin.
When all business transaction comes under government observation, illegal business is forced shutting down.
My personal opinion, its good initiative.
Canada already look pretty this.

We have terrorism and laundering already well before bitcoins, cryptos don't chance that, it is just a different flavor.  You can have a illegal business no matter what currency it uses to hide money.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fork: How Long Do We Have? on: June 27, 2015, 02:23:54 AM
Yes, I think higher transaction fees are not a good thing.  It will stop people from adopting bitcoins, and since that is what 90% of what people know, it is not good.  Maybe people will not go to alt coins because they only know about bitcoins.  If prices increase enough then it will be like a money wire, where you need to send lots of money to use it.  But if we want wide adoption then we need people to be able to buy a coffee with bitcoins too, not just a car.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updating graph of fees for unconfirmed transactions on: June 27, 2015, 02:19:10 AM
Thanks this is a really good tool, and it will become important as the blocks start to fill up in the future to determine how much we need to include in our transaction fees.
