1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will XTRABYTES (XBY) Be A Top 10 Cryptocurrency By The End Of 2018? on: April 17, 2018, 03:14:59 PM
Why people create an account just to bash a single crypto is beyond me. You want the truth? 99% of the altcoin space is a big money grabbing pyramid scheme. How many of them are actually being used for their claimed purposes?  How many of them promise the exact same features? How do you expect a coin to make money when it's open source which means anyone can just take the code and use it themselves?  Big banks or other businesses might utilize blockchain, but they are not going to pay any of these altcoins for it.. they'll just hire someone familiar with the tech and create their own chain.

The coin that makes it big will be the coin with some unique tech that keeps the coin closed source so the chinese can't copy it like they copy everything. In that sense XBY is one of the very few I think could have a future, though I admit it could be a scam. Issuing those tokens was a big red flag that they are just doing money grabs... focusing on crap they shouldn't be focusing on, making new websites when they should be working on getting their coin's tech done...... it's probably a scam, but so are 99% of the other altcoins for no other reason than they have no inherit value on their own.. they trade at the market caps they do because of trickle down and pumping.

The day NEM decided to issue a new coin that is a side chain of NEM, I lost all faith in the crypto space.. so instead of working on NEM/XEM they are doing a money grab just like NXT did with Ardor and Ignis... so basically NEM's tech will never be used for anything and people just want to make more money. Great.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PROXIMAX ICO on: April 15, 2018, 03:09:37 AM
It's hard for me to want to invest in anything new anymore given there's so many coins that make generic claims like the ones Proximax does. Plus the name.. not very catchy. I had a NEM stake and am grateful for the money I made but the environment has changed so much.. with 4 billion coins or 44% of the coins locked up for use in other areas, why should I invest in yet another money grab? If NEM's code was good it should stand on it's own and not require more funding.  All over the crypto space I see new coins, ICOs, lots of promises for a lot of the same features, but then the original coins are often forgotten and it seems like people just want to make a quick buck. I'm skeptical on this ICO as I am probably 99% of altcoins out there today. I'll give you credit for having names behind the development. All these coins make all these claims but almost none of them are actually being used for the features they have, except perhaps Ethereum and a few others.  I've turned very skeptical on this space in general and mostly invest to daytrade now. Blockchain is great tech but I don't believe most coins trading today will be around in 5-10 years... this whole space has become a big pyramid scheme.   Plus nothing that is open source has inherit value.. the value is in patenting the technology, keeping is closed source, and marketing it, and the few coins who claim to do this I'm convinced are scams (xtrabytes, unfortunately as I'm still invested in it). I admit I'm a bit out of the loop on new offerings though.

Oh and I can remove this deeponion signature... one bleeping week of not having a stupid post on their forums and being denied my onion was enough for me.

How does this happen? Do people simply guess easy passwords? My password for this one includes symbols, numbers and shit.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZERO - COMMUNITY TAKEOVER on: January 09, 2018, 01:08:35 AM
I'd like to thank the whale who sold me some at 53500 last night.  Got myself a starter position of about $15K worth, currently worth $19K.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Undervalued Coins to invest in?!?! on: January 09, 2018, 01:04:00 AM
Traded on cryptopia, ZERO (ZER) is a community coin that is a no brainer here. Easy multi-bagger based on the revival of this one by the community. Hoping I can get another whale to dump so I can get some more cheap coin. Limit order in place. Probably not gonna happen since it's rising.

Xtrabytes is my long term hold from last spring.

Ark is going to do well.

You already have deeponion. That's going to $100M+

Though I don't own any yet, COSS will probably do ok.

I love Pascalcoin but can't get anybody interested in it in a big way so I'll just hold that baby until it's the new king in a couple years.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Zero Price Speculation on: January 08, 2018, 09:57:38 AM
This is a community coin that the community took over in November that emphasizes low or no fees while reducing power consumption and increasing scalability over what bitcoin offers. At such a low marketcap and with development picking up it seems like a gem that will explode from it's current tiny marketcap of $4M.  Here's a link to the ANN.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 7 Coins I think to HODL for 2018 on: January 08, 2018, 09:42:32 AM
Xtrabytes is my top pick for 2018.

My newest investment is a  low market cap community coin that trades on Cryptopia called "Zero" ticker symbol ZER. With a 4ish million dollar market cap throwing $20-30K in seems like a no brainer. Going to use my clout to try to get it listed on a couple of other exchanges and help the community any way I can. Easy $20M market cap coin, if not $50M plus... (a 10 bagger from current prices)

I also have Pascalcoin. It's limitation is only being listed on poloniex.  As far as tech goes this tech is proven it's just not very well known or utilized.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F25UU-0W9Dk

Ark is another favorite of mine.

I continue to keep my eyes open for new opportunities so I read threads like this. I figure I can add my picks. I like to focus on tech first but if it looks like it's simply gonna make me some money, I will buy it. Don't care what anyone thinks. See my sig.

Other coins I might be inclined to pick up.. COSS and Elixir.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex Preparing for an Exit Scam! DO _NOT_ SEND COINS THERE! on: January 08, 2018, 07:17:48 AM
I sold some Ardor, sent the bitcoin to cryptopia, about 4 hours ago. no issues. Cryptopia wasn't showing the bitcoin right away so I took a 4 hour nap, woke up, funds were there. My solution to this problem has been to simply not to try withdrawing altcoins unless the site seems to be issue free by doing a casual search.  Usually I have just kept the coins on the exchange and they're still around.  I make it a point to try to only withdraw bitcoin.

If you can avoid having to deal with customer service in the first place, that's the best way to go about it. Unfortunately for you you didn't.

I'm not saying you did anything wrong, but a lot of times when people have issues like this it's because they did something wrong, like in the case of NEM not copying and including the proper "message" when sending the coin, or filling out all the fields properly.  These mistakes can be easily avoided with a little care. They don't hold your hand in the crypto space so it's important to take every precaution.

The main disadvantage of Poloniex is they're riding on their success, not actively improving. Their withdraw limit of $25,000 is really quite meager by today's standards also. Seems like a lot of exchanges lack attention to detail, blaming it on customer load. I can tell you if I was running my own exchange I'd be constantly looking for wallet updates and reviewing customer issues as best I can. If as the owner I had a 3 month backlog of complaints, to me that would be unacceptable. I'd stay up day and night until they were addressed and hire the needed people. With the money these places bring in from transaction fees you can't tell me they're hurting for money.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $500 Portofolio on: January 08, 2018, 06:59:49 AM
I have a golden one for a $500 investment but I can't say until I've bought it. I will say it trades on cryptopia. In the meantime, Deeponion is going to go up regardless of the FUD against it.. so either get in or miss the profit.  I bought in in spite of the FUD at $2.50 and am doing fine. I said I'd say I told you so when it hit $100M market cap.. we're not there yet.. well now it looks like $200M should be pretty easy for this one.  Otherwise Xtrabytes and Pascalcoin are my favorites for the technology they have or promise to have. I've made posts about it before and don't want to spam too much.  Pascal should be trading at $500M plus but being an older coin they are only listed on poloniex, which is their biggest disadvantage. There's a big paywall these days to hit a decent exchange.  Assuming Xtrabytes gets patent pending status and their third testnet goes well I expect $1B out of that one in the next month or two, an increase of more than 3X from here.

I also own WAGERR.. they are promising a mainnet and transition off the waves platform onto their own blockchain here in the next couple of weeks.  NEM is my baby... I own Ark and it's been going nowhere. Chart looks ready for a pump. Would like to see more frequent communication from them on the progress of their platform.

Though I don't own any and don't know if I will buy any, chances are good that COSS is going to keep pumping. Any functioning exchange is going to see high demand. I've always had my eye on HEAT but they could never get their product working while others have passed them by.   If COSS pumps it will do so quickly but I don't know if I trust their platform enough to use it yet looking at the ANN thread and the problems people are having.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Wallet for many altcoins on: January 08, 2018, 06:37:55 AM
I store my "wallets" as digital paper wallets encrypted in 7z with 64 character random passwords. Most of the password is stored on a QR code I scan with a 2D barcode scanner, but there may or may not also be a prefix or suffix.. a couple of characters before or after the main password, I add to thwart anyone who might find the QR codes. I can't confirm or deny this.. and yes I will install the wallet of the coin I buy and then delete it after I have my "paper wallet" backed up. I may or may not also use lastpass with a 64+ character password... all with 2 factor authentication turned on and everything.

When I use the authy app I don't name the sites.. I just put in letters, like Aaaaaaaaa, Bbbbbbbbb, etc , and have a laminated card in my wallet that shows which numbers correspond to which websites in case somehow someone got ahold of my 2FA account. (Very unlikely).. the exception to this rule is Gemini, which uses Authy by default which is why I originally got it in the first place.  Authy doesn't let you rename sites that use their specific algo.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins to buy ? on: January 07, 2018, 05:59:57 PM
Xtrabytes and pascal coin continue to fly under the radar.  If everything goes according to plan xtrabytes will replace or supplement ethereum but with much faster transaction speeds.  They are doing a third testnet using the old code right now while they wait for patent pending status on parts of the new code.

Go sign up for a level 2 node to help test the network!  Even the old code can run well over 1000TPS

https://community.xtrabytes.global/forums/news-announcements.36/

Pascal is more a currency platform with its user accounts and block chain trimming.  Only having to download the last 100 blocks presents huge advantages to bitcoin .

Slow and steady wins the race.....

Xtrabytes and pascal coin are my choices because they both have unique tech that would benefit the block chain as a whole. In fact XBY is in the process of obtaining patents for some of their work.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - BECAUSE THE BLOCKCHAIN CAN BE BETTER on: January 06, 2018, 11:04:48 AM
Hurray...XBY has its own troll.. Almost every coin gets one.  If you dont believe the tech is real then dont invest.  The coin is rising on speculation and what has been revealed so far in the first 2 testnets which are on the old chain.  Take the risk or dont. The choice is yours.

I'll be honest.... I've thought about visiting here and seeing what the women are like, and perhaps moving here to start a family with my success in crypto. American women just dont do that much for me.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, true deletable blockchain - V2 protocol active! on: January 03, 2018, 07:40:32 AM
Congrats on hitting $5 and getting in the top 200!  Much deserved given the technology. I personally love the user accounts.  This and Xtrabytes were always my favorite coins and patience continues to pay off. Exciting time to be alive, that's for sure.
17  Economy / Economics / The crypto market is still only about 10% of the value of the global gold market on: January 03, 2018, 07:14:12 AM
http://onlygold.com/Info/All-The-Gold-In-The-World.asp

Just something to keep in mind for all the people including myself who think or thought we might now or might have in the past been in a bubble. Given cryptos have become more popular than gold from a media reporting perspective, not necessarily from an average joe investing perspective (though really few people own substantial amounts of gold either), and people love to invest in new technology and new ideas, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea that this space could end up becoming a 1.5-3.0 Trillion dollar space, or even more.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are the most successful investors on: January 03, 2018, 01:18:55 AM
I guarantee you there's people reading this thread with net worths of 10 million dollars on paper right now.   Of course it's not really money until you sell and withdraw into fiat.  This crypto run could keep going for a long time, or evaporate pretty quickly.  Early adopters always have the best advantage. It's always great when a company goes public when they are still small, rather than waiting until they are huge... then you can buy the stock cheap and really ride it up as the company grows. That's what cryptos are.. a growth area.. or they were.

I got a stake of NEM.. the smartest thing I could have done was absolutely nothing.. but I thought I was smarter then that, and thus my net worth is not as high... but all my money has been made from zero investment dollars on my part... it's all because of NEM.  If Xtrabytes ends up being what I think it will however, it should more than make up for it.

I'd rather the global market cap stay stable... my favorite stock market days are when the market is flat because small caps will still do well.  I don't want a huge run to $1T to happen in a week now only to have a bust... stable... slow growth.. relax a bit and take a breath....

I do have a prediction though... this will be the year another coin surpasses bitcoin's market cap.. one that is better scalable and not based on proof of work. That may be hard with all the exchanges trading altcoin pairs to BTC though. We shall see. It would be in everyone's best interest to save in transaction fees.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, true deletable blockchain - V2 protocol active! on: January 03, 2018, 01:14:02 AM
tbh it's going to be hard to grow the dev team and even find people to contribute to making the next steps happen
using pascal in 2018 is like coding a facebook competitor using HTML 1.0

the language doesnt matter much, usability is much more important and is severely lacking in pascalcoin and many other coins

a re-branding would be optimal, this coin has very good tech but the name isn't very cool imo

''PCash''

"Pask" was my idea. They didn't listen to me.  PCash is good too!  Marketing is important, I agree... but it's not the end of the world.. I mean raiblocks?  Bleh.  There's some seriously strange names in the top 100.
