In about 250 blocks the reward is going to cut in half from 48 to 24 a block

lol i just noticed that don't sweat it Vlad, everyone around here considers you legendary difficulty has been steady holding between 750 - 800 million enjoy your travels and don't take any 'wooden nickels' I've been MIA in Europe so I'm wondering if f2pool ever pumped up the difficulty yet. Good to see Spoetnik on here, I agree it's all about adoption. Zebedee, well, you know how I feel about you. lol Cinnamon, I can't believe you beat me to legendary - life truly is unjust. haha. Deadsea33, see you soon?

I noticed when I checked in later they had yet to hit a block ... I certainly agree that any cryptocurrency benefits from having as many pools to decentralize mining as possible. Based on how the difficulty of Riecoin has held up it obviously has a lot of cpu power at it..... Of course it is possible someone has developed more efficient miners even using a gpu and is not publishing that fact... still I think a gpu design would not increase speed over cpu mining vs. the same order of magnitude as it did for sha 2, other algorithms.... Riecoin is one of the only alt coins I support that I am not involved with development of .... I always liked it both for the math aspects , reward model, and how it was launched and operated. Blockchain down again Having a second pool would certainly help, but the fastrie/xpoolx miner seems to only be available for Windows right now, and xpoolx would need a lot more miners to find blocks at the current difficulty.

if you think charts are the answer to resolve this i think you should consider
1) the launch
2) check out the source code
3) consider that this project was partially closed source at one time
4) research the weakness of 'chaining' 11 algorithms together from a security/cryptography standpoint
dark ?
ho thank you /

maybe Mark has a logo to use , if so he can do a pr , or just post it here and I can include it...

|

curious for feedback on new pool , maybe i will join the party !!
|
|
|
no issue for me logging into ypool , have not checked payout's lately though since with the few shares i submit it does not add up to much
|
|
|
pool appears to be up :-)
i have to re regisger and abandon my shares / since i want to include GRP which i never really noticed years ago when i initially registered.....
would be nice to see some others mine here , my own hash power is very small and may never hit a block but i feel this is the best place to point it.....
kudos to mmpool for keeping the pool running (in particular with recent attacks and thankless comments of some.....)

I think I will have time in the next few days to do a few clean up's and fixes to the makeshift client I compiled a few months ago, if there are any special requests I cannot guarantee I can include put please post here ...... will update if i have any progress....

sorry as a known dev. of alt coins I could never support such a scheme although for every honest person like me with integrity and a sense of what is right and wrong there are several who feel differently.
hopefully talented devs. will stay far away from bad ideas like this,

Unless companies have specific uses in mind and plan to use only proof of work, well secured blockchains with specific use cases I think large corporations like this would be smarter to allow those of us who understand cryptography and how to run open source projects stay in control of the alt coin scene.. Yes probably 90% or more of all alt coins are junk including imo almost every proof of stake and almost every largely premined coin although not every one.......
There still are several strong alt coins running that anyone can use and adopt with secure blockchains and good development teams who are not even asking to be paid.
Also, on tipping. Let's be honest. If the only use of an alt coin is tipping there is limited growth for the future imo.... i could be wrong...

fire it up, stay healthy , the network is purring along lovely

I suggest you look into the blake coin system. https://blakecoin.org/Disclaimer -- I am a member of the development team but with true merged mining you can mine 5 coins at once..... I pick and choose which projects I work on, and still turn down a few offers a month to join teams or help with other coin dev. projects. Blake 256 has many many advantages. Only bitcoin has merged mining like this and honestly very few places offer any more than btc/nmc Lot's of other great coins out there also.. Feathercoin and Riecoin are two alt coins I am NOT involved with development of in any way but are certainly ones I recommend you check out. Good luck -- don't expect to get rich .....

i agree, there are many things that can explain this,
it bothers me when I see legit science efforts junked up with stuff like this

|

What right do you have or what purpose does it serve to disrespect a pool 's posted pay out system ?? If you do not like it, build your own pool, with pps, or whatever you like and open it to the public...... let's see you do better. any ETA on getting rid of DDM yet?

I think they want to know Satoshi's birthday Next time I bump into him I'll ask

As ram becomes less expensive memory intensive algos are likely to be more popular however from a foundation of cryptography & mathematics the security is not necessarly better just because something needs more ram.
