Network difficulty of Blake Coin in merged pools about 144,000+ , current Photon Difficulty is also around 144k, the entire network is running faster than ever before at 3.5 terrahash .... things are certainly picking up. Many thanks to Ignatius for Photon Dice http://pho.blakedice.com/ Photon Dice has it's own twitter account also https://twitter.com/photondice

no one owes you proof of anything you can as an individual decide what is and is not ethical bitcoin will carry on without you, me or any individual, like it or not Am I wrong in thinking Bitcoin is just a tulip bulb scenario in which an ever-increasing number of new investors is required to keep up the hype, and once there are no more greater fools left, it will crash and I will be rich at the expense of many people out there?
I mean, it's not like I'm investing in something that provides a real value to people. It's not like buying land and charging someone rent, or cooking a meal and setting it down in front of someone at a restaurant.
Yes, I know there is a tiny bit of value in what bitcoin offers that the old systems don't, but even that can only be realized in a best-case scenario (price stabilizes for years on end), which is highly unlikely to happen.
Tell me why I'm wrong and why I shouldn't feel bad for making a lot of money off of BTC.

Your gambling has little to do with money. Research the story of a man named Brian Molony a Canadian man who struggled with gambling This article is vey brief , there is a biography about him also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_MolonyWith the proper approach you can turn anything around.

partially true however we still have the ignore button Only the anti-social type crowds pay attention to bitcoin in the early days.
And most geeks (aka miners) are just lone wolf.
So, we have a community of psychopath and sociopath that dominate bitcoin community.

I would not fixate on the day to day or even month to month price. In the long run it means little unless you are running some expensive mining rigs or or running a bitcoin based business.
And $10,000 ?
Slow down. Not so fast.
Actually I wrote an article quite a while ago as to why over a long time frame the price of bitcoin should rise to very high prices eventually to infinity of current world currencies.
In the shorter term however there will be many price up's and downs which investment people sometimes call 'noise'.
You may need to wait several decades or longer for bitcoin to reach $10,000 each --- eventually it will certainly be reached and beyond......

cool , ill build it !! Updating the source and client with a new checkpoint and new logos. The links are all the same. The old binaries should still run without any problems but please let me know if you run into any issues. Source is on github (see op). Thanks.

you need the make file for level db you can get it here if you don't have it https://github.com/photonproject/photon/blob/master/src/leveldb/Makefilecd /leveldb sudo make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a then compile the coin as normal on linux Trying to compile from source from git repo and get the following error:
~/BlakeBitcoin/src $ make -f makefile.unix Building LevelDB ... make[1]: Entering directory `/BlakeBitcoin/src/leveldb' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `libleveldb.a'. Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/BlakeBitcoin/src/leveldb' make: *** [leveldb/libleveldb.a] Error 2
I've dealt with this once before with another coin by simply copying these files from another coin's source but would be interested in finding out why this happens.

lol That was 3 consecutive blocks - pretty damn good. Best I ever seen was 5 consecutive blocks about a year ago...

anything supported by the biotech industry (which is helping poison the worlds food supply with gmo food) will not get my support.
this coin is one i will never trade and I rarely bring my personal political feelings into the boards here but this is something i feel strongly about and would encourage others to consider before supporting such a coin.

ok thanks, I may try it out when I have time over the next few days, best of luck with your coin. is the source code available for those of us who prefer to compile our own wallets ?
Follow the linux link in the OP

I would need more details of the type of invasion to say.
Some people believe that this has taken place in the past or goes on now.
Others believe that several Alien races have 'visited' us.
Some people believe we were 'cerated' by aliens.
In general I cannot get worried about it.
Any civilization capable of interstellar travel that would happen to find us would have no more interest in this planet than a hiker might have as they walk past an ant hill.
If they were a good hearted hiker they may try not to step on the ants as they wallk by. If they were less good hearted they may try to 'stamp' on a few. A very curious hiker who was also interested in science may even collect a few to study later.
I would focus on the problems of the world that are things we need to deal with now vs. these strange science fiction scenarios.

i will echo what the developer has stated, i have a wallet on the 8.x codebase and one for study on the 9.x codebase, both are running on windows machines both take a little time but do synchronize up without issue my wallet is showing an estimated 70,002 blocks, however after 3 days and several attempts, my wallet still has not tried to sync in any way. Still showing 13 weeks behind at 13,806... no change, PLEASE HELP with this. I am using win 32 downloads as that is all that will work. I have tried to start with the .86 software and progress, but that has not worked either.
are you using v0.9.1 binaries? how many active connections to the network do you have? I'll test a clean install in win32 to see if there are any problems... win32 is slow, but it works. In less than 1 hour it processed blocks 0 to 15000 and it's still going... please check that you have no firewall issues.

I am sure all of this is mostly true but it should be in the scam section not the coin ann section.
To others unaware , yea there is a small group of unethical people who keep making coins and ripping you off.
They control hundreds or thousands of accounts on this forum and twitter as well.
The patterns are not hard to spot.
It continues even now.

post the source code
edit 1: if you did not put the source on github it is an automatic pass for me and probably anyone else serious in the alt coin world for obvious reasons
edit 2 i actually looked at this source - ill say one word to save others time ---- coingen -- pretty obvious when the splah in the src/qt/res/images file has their name on it ...
edit 3 june 14 it appears the 'developers' of this coin have made changes to their source code and properly uploaded it to github, it is still missing a few spalsh images only on github before it will compile without insterting generic images but i think they made a smart move by removing /changing what they did if they ever expect to attract any attention. I would suggest updating the missing files, since it seems to compile with UPnP support when I inserted generic png files in here
RCC: Error in 'src\qt\bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/images/splash.png' RCC: Error in 'src\qt\bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/images/splash_testnet.png' RCC: Error in 'src\qt\bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/images/splash.png' RCC: Error in 'src\qt\bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/images/splash_testnet.png'
Edit 4 congratulations !! you made it nice work

thanks for the link , i will look it over when i have time, build a wallet ect... i was not about to sort through a few hundred pages of useless posts to find it there should be some discussion of source code on the op if the entire project is not open source no one who understands security will ever take it seriously why is the source code not available for the current clients
i hold a copy of the original source that used to be posted however why is the source code of the current clients being hidden or unreleased ?
that to me means this is a closed source project.
That isn't even a little bit the case. The source of the BETA client is closed for very good reasons that have been explained countless times. The source of the current version is open as ever. current not beta client https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin
