no , not dead at all, just because older established or more professional developers and coins
dont have a thousand fake accounts bump and spam the thread 7 days a week does not mean anything at all,
look at all the new coin scams , 21 days proof of work , 14 days proof of work, 3 days proof of work ,
some of this garbage actually has a lot of exposure and all sorts of 'experts' who were not even around year ago trying to lead other people around with a hook in thier nose to buy into their scams.
some of them have hundreds of pages , the fact that it is fake and phony is obvious
I always liked i0 and iX since they have been around and being merged with bitcoin cannot be 51% killed by someone who owns a few neptunes.....
quite alive

A litle gift from me, I recompiled the windows qt wallet with qr code support and updated to open ssl 1.0.1h Download it here , was compiled directly from developers source no changes https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8503hoyr74WVZGQUNrNVliajg/edit?usp=sharingThe more generous a community is the more motivated people like me are to jump in at random and help out. The source code to Photon has been updated with one minor correction and updated checkpoint The new wallet now with openssl 1.0.1h support / You may or may not need the single dll file with the wallet depending on which version of windows you run. All rpc console commands are working properly, some prior wallet releases had a few problems with getblocktempate, getwork and getwork2 These issues appear to have been corrected with this build on the machines I had available for testing. Development of new features is ongoing for most of the current 6 members of the blake 256 family of coins you can merge mine is moving right along. I am working with chiguireitor on a few things and we will tell you all more about it when we have things coded up and tested. Thanks to all supporters of Photon and in particular Byron at Atomic for support. Special thanks to all miners. Until I can get the op updated you can get the lastest build of the windows wallet here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8503hoyr74TERvT2tRbENYRWM/edit?usp=sharing

Note I have forked the official Electron repo and compiled an updated wallet which you can get here.... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8503hoyr74bWU3YVBCZUJfSTg/edit?usp=sharing My copy of the source code on github (not the official source is here) https://github.com/photonproject/Electron-ELT Changes include: 1) In my source code i deleted many unnecessary files and created an obj directory in the src directory. 2) I added a fairly recent checkpoint 3) Wallet was compiled with qr code support and with openssl 1.0.1h Known issues still not fixed : some rpc console commands like getblocktemplate craash the client. Photon does not have this problem but Electron and most other coins in the blake 256 family do suffer from this. Note it is not related to this updated build this glitch was present in the initial release and every release after until now. Eventually I will have time to correct it. I am also working on a few other things with the other core blake 256 developer while Bluedragon747 is slightly busy. We are looking at a few possible 'enhancments' -- The developer of Universal Molecule and I will certainly keep you posted on the new developments we are working on and testing. Our core team is pretty solid and the future is looking bright. Special thanks to everyone mining and the exchanges in particular Atomic who has supported the blake 256 family of 6 coins now the most. Thank you Byron. There should be updates on a few other coins in the blake 256 family later on tonight or tomorrow EDIT 1 NOTE I FOUND A WORK AROUND FOR THE RPC CONSOLE ISSUE SEE THIS POST ON THE BLAKE COIN THREAD I JUST PUT UP !!! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306894.msg8394377#msg8394377

while i doubt this will come to pass i hope btc goes on sale soon , i will be looking to buy, the lower it goes the better
|
|

if it ever happens , which it did not i will be buying

well i would too but since this is a long term project if it gets de listed it gets delisted it will not effect me i realize a lot of people consider a coin not on several exchanges useless however if you look at the coin age of blake coin and others in the blake 256 system most people are not moving thier coins so I think most people are in for the long haul. It took bitcoin 5+ years to get any sustained value and I feel the blake 256 system is superior in many ways, I guess time will tell , I am willing to gamble, I am holding all blake 256 coins !! thanks for your support of the project !! I realize that my statement may have appeared negative towards bittrex, but that was not my intention. I realize and appreciate that bittrex has been one of the few exchanges to support the Blake based coins. If/when I have some spare btc I would be happy to purchase blc from there to keep it listed.

lol i thought there was no developer !! i don't really want to take over someone elses coin, i would not take to kindly if someone tried that with one of my coins i can say that much a git pull is one thing but i don't even own any of these, just decided to look it over out of curiousity..... let's let the blockchain download and if someone needs my help developing they can ask and if i can help and I have time i will ,, you never know who is on the other end of the wire, last thing i want to do is piss the wrong person off, like i said i would not take it kindly if someone tried to take over a coin i ran .... taking a look at this ...
edit one.... was asked to review this coin....
forked source code, wallet compiles no issues,
no nodes active , no connections , anyone have nodes ?
without a copy of the blockchain updating the code would be useless and impossible !!
if you could PM the DEV " theyareseven " thanks

fyi if you go to build in linux you need an obj directory in the src directory,
i finally got it working,
i destroyed the node i made, did not want to take a chance on starting this thing over ,
using a few tweaks i have 1 peer on the windows wallet and the blockchain looks pretty tall , when it downloads ill look it over
looks over 279k tall
what exactly is the community looking for ,it appears to need an updated client with checkpoints and stake modifiers,

I want to study this further...
I get concerned with quick changes and 'mandatory' updates....
With good reason based on experience.

i think honestly they just did not know any better / just my opinion Dev, I have some doubts of your dev skills (No offense) but why this? (Not trying to FUD, just know why)

thanks much ! will get it added to op asap !!

Here is link to full abe block crawler, I find block explorers mostly useless personally since the information available is limited http://162.243.101.139:2750/Block Explorer ?

will certainly look into this ! looks like some great work here !! I've completed some more performance work on blake256.cl and updated my gist https://gist.github.com/Griffitsj/55349ccee17bbf87ffd5This gives 1.3% speed improvement on my rig. To use it you need to replace the blake256.cl file in your cgminer directory and delete all the .bin files. This only works with the 3.7.2 cgminer release for blakecoin by the way (windows + linux) The optimisations are basically rewriting it to explicitly use vector based operations (uint4). Using the OpenCL profiler it confirmed that there were some performance improvements: - clock cycles per wavefront went from 88 down to 84
- Scalar ALU operations went from 18 down to 17
- Scalar General Purpose Registers went from 22 down to 19
- All other metrics stayed the same
Interestingly the vector changes themselves didn't give the speedup I was hoping for as it seems the OpenCL compiler is clever enough to use vectors if it can but some of the other changes I made while restructuring to use vectors must have had a beneficial effect.

i think if i was going to wager i would wager on crypto note at this point, still studying it's code,
i don't trust anything not open souce either......
i think dark is a lot more hype than reality......
one thing for sure multiple hash algorithms together are weaker than a single proof of work algorithm, that is a factor to consider as well , but maybe for the future..... still it's been proven mathematically
edit 1 if your wondering which is better from a technology standpoint for anon tx
edit 2 cryptonote is quite a while behind development of wallets to be used by most people but if you don't mind the command line it seems to test well
edit 3
I am uncertain really, still studying the whole thing, reading other peoples analysis of the code, running some tests (on cryptonote ) may have better answers with some actual facts from code and examples in a month or two......
