1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin 0.8.5 - Scrypt based cryptocoin on: April 25, 2014, 02:52:54 AM
Am i the only one who noticed the difficulty dropped to below 2 about an hour ago >Huh
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIC] Sifcoin - inflation fork on: April 25, 2014, 02:43:08 AM
Checked it over the past weekend and tonight , actually difficulty seems to be dropping .....

I think the discussions on the russian thread of sic 2 and if it will or will not allow the private keys of this coin to be imported is something they seem to be up in the air about.

Sic should be carried by every exchange just out of respect !!

Without it there would be no quark and no (insert hundreds of coins here not just quark clones)

1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ReikiCoin - Heals and cures, SHA 256 POS - Mege folding with FRK / CUR on: April 25, 2014, 02:39:48 AM
I have not touched the client for weeks, was going to load it up to see if i get any stake ......

I noticed from the mirror of the wallet i posted here and cryptocointalk dozens of people downloaded the wallet so someone must be mining !!
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLA] BLADE | POW TO POS | NOW ON CRYPTORUSH! on: April 25, 2014, 02:37:27 AM
Blade Runner is my fav movie of all time !!

I think I know the script by heart !!!

Do you like our owl ??

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long

I've done... questionable things.......

You’re watching television. Suddenly you realize there’s a wasp crawling on your arm.

You're watching a stage play - a banquet is in progress. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog stuffed with rice. The raw oysters are less acceptable to you than a dish of boiled dog.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I'M NOT HELPING?

It is proof of stake only now.

just throwing this out there,

the developer has never updated or put checkpoints in the client

i could do it as could plenty of others but I am not trying to take the coin over and don't want to release bootleg wallets

I would urge the developer who I suspect must read this thread to please put checkpoints at least to github

even if we have to build our own wallets....

also....please answer the private mesg i sent you !!! would like your input and possibly to collaberate with you

excellent question !!

the resource I am studying currently is here

https://github.com/cjdelisle/namecoin-qt/blob/master/contrib/merged-mine-proxy

any input from the pro's of mining out there would be welcome

I doubt anyone who knows about merged mining of bitcoin /namecoin /ix, io ect... will help since they don't want any competition however you never know

@cinnamon_carter Thanks for your work. Still mining and mining...

Any hint how to setup/test the merged mining now?
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sph-sgminer: multi-coin multi-algorithm GPU miner | added MaruCoin on: April 25, 2014, 02:25:44 AM
Just another thanks to the developers who open sourced this miner,

I sent you some coins

difficulty of sic is dropping !!

i did some tests on bitquark also just to see how it holds up on that

got best results on my single 7970 with g 1 w 264 clock at 1200 memory low like 700 and intensity between 18 and 20 seems to have similar results

one question,  BlueDragon747 the developer of blake coin and I (the dev of Photon a blake 256 clone)  are working on merged mining of our coins

I recently added the auxpow to the photon source code here https://github.com/photonproject/photon

I am currently learning about how namecoin and bitcoin are merged mined and built test coins to run locally and try to figure this out

Since the dev team who built this miner seem to really know your stuff i was wondering if you could recommend any good resources on merged mining

Obviously blake 256 is a bit different than sha 256 d however i have never until just recently started to learn about how pool mining works in the code,

Ive always just studied the code of the coins and a little bit of hash algo;s + projects like yours that port to cl

Wondering if you have any ideas or thoughts on merged mining of Blake Coin and Photon

I am sure you guys are familiar with at least Blake Coin since it is well known but the forum thread is here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306894.0

My coin photon 's thread i doubt you heard of but it is here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=478136.0;all

check it out if you ever have a chance , i know your past time is mining cpu coins with gpu's but the merged mining could be a new challenge

one i am struggling to solve !!
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin, new prime numbers POW coin, CLIENT UPDATE v0.8.7 AVAILABLE on: April 25, 2014, 01:58:23 AM
is the source to your miner available,  i never found it but it is hard to find things here sometimes !!
And a heads-up update on the miner so people can plan ahead a bit - I'll be releasing the b15 source and Linux binaries on Saturday.  Maybe a 10-15% speed boost, but fairly platform specific.  Single-core performance will be unchanged, but 4-24 core systems should be happier.  There's a horrible slowdown on the one 64 core system I've tried it on, though, so people with huge machines will need to set up scripts that run multiple copies of it using numactl.

It's a huge change to the way the miner works and will probably introduce bugs, but I've been running it in testing on Linux for a while and it seems stable.  There's a bug there where my code is deadlocking on windows, which is why I haven't released it yet.  The most likely change is that I moved from code that uses only mutexes (windows CRITICAL_SECTION) to code that has both mutexes and condition variables.  Or there's some other bug that's only manifesting on windows.

In any event, if there are some windows-clueful programmers who are interested in taking a peek and sending me a bug report / patch / bop on the head, that'll let us get this in everyones hands regardless of operating system.  I'd be happy to throw in a bit of dev fee share or a RIC bounty if it seems appropriate.

I'll keep b14 binaries around, regardless, until it's proved stable for more people and there's a working version for windows.

This release should let the diff float comfortably above 1700.  It's designed in particular to be better at higher diffs.

1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinnamon Coin 1.4.1 (CIN) No PreMine (POW )& POS TRADE ON COINS-E on: April 24, 2014, 09:58:00 PM
Thanks for the generous offer ---

I recommend everyone stop mining the coin temporarly until i can get a fixed up client that solves the time drift issues, proof of and stake difficulty calculation problems

I tweeted coin warz recommending they delist Cinnamon Coin for now

That being said the network is running very well on proof of stake only.

I have some 'test clients' built but being a one woman operation + the fact it takes time to test things on test net & live net i don't want to promise a quick fix.

Until i get this all sorted out the network will run fine on proof of stake only.

It has been running like this for well over a week.

Ironic the price on coins e is up the highest it has been in sometime...

Cinnamon, I'll try to knock the block free. Lets see what a dozen Mh/s can do Smiley

-nevermind, just saw your post on the other forum. I'll wait until the testnet is done.

Thank you , while working on fixing the client to display the proper difficulty i decided to release an updated client + source is updated also version 1.4.1 just has a few stake modifiers & checkpoints added.
My eventual plan is to rebuild the client with fixes & possibly update to newer codebase & leveldb support.
Still got a long way to go before i get that done.

Cinnamon Coin was never designed to be a 'mine for profit' coin.

The blockchain will keep moving slow & steady.

There are over 100 nodes connected to the few daemons I run so clearly many are still quite involved.

Right now I have a friend running one gpu on it 24/7
There is about a 50% chance he will solve the block in 30 days --

The new client is not mandatory but may help keep stake flowing.

Note ----- UPDATED SOURCE ON GITHUB AND NEW WINDOWS WALLET AVAILABLE NOW ------

This includes changes for 'merged mining' with Blake Coin and testing is almost done and ready to be rolled out to the masses.

Soon ..... you can mine Photon and it's parent coin Blake Coin at the SAME TIME.......NO SWITCHING......2 FOR 1.....

I also hear there are other Blake 256 coins in development that are being designed like Photon was to be 'merged mined' with Blake Coin.....

This is the future  !!!!

Right now (unless you are merge mining bitcoin and namecoin) you have to decide what you will mine and you have to pick a coin..........

There are auto switch pools but we all know the reasons why they are not perfect......

This is called the AUXPOW update of Photon with checkpoints added also since it adds the necessary code for 'Joining' with Blake Coin

-----When you install this new client back up your Photon wallet first and delete everything in your roaming folder except your wallet.dat file and you .conf file.........you must redownload the entire blockchain again with this new release but it moves quick --------------

Feel free to check out the updated source code on github

https://github.com/photonproject/photon

Here is your updated windows wallet

As soon as final testing on merged mining is complete more information will be posted for Photon and Blake Coin and Huh?

I would like to also add that NONE of this would be possible without the brilliant work of BlueDragon747 and his Blake256 Algo......

A few reminders........ as the developer of Photon I would like to point out.......

The Blake 256 algo has very strong advantages from a hardware standpoint and a 'speed' standpoint which are fully described in the op.

As more and more coins pop up all the time some people are now in a state of mass confusion as to 'what to mine' ... many coins are released that drop or halve awards in days or weeks.  Both Blake Coin and Photon were NOT designed this way.  So if you get in now early you benefit from lower difficulty.  For people who want to get involved several years from now the block awards are still going to pay out the same.  This is fair and not tilted to benefit 'a few' vs 'everyone'.

Merged mining is an opportunity for coins to 'join forces' instead of being in competition for each others hash power which also makes the blockchains of each coin faster and harder to attack.  In the future people who can mine several coins at once are going to have a hard time going back to the alternatives that only allow them to mine one coin.

Blake Coin and Photon are designed for long term use.  As time goes on weak coins may not survive. The alt coin world changes very very quickly.

Stability , reliable and honest developers, fair awards, fast with hardware advantages and excellent security are the future.

You can mine the blake 256 algo with a cpu, gpu , or fpga board.  ASIC technology is possible but not currently available.

I am not telling you to drop every other coin and ONLY mine Photon and Blake Coin.

I am telling you that we have long term plans to support these coins and you should include them in your mining regularly.

Please support the exchanges that offer Photon trading which are

Atomic Trade (who have recently expanded their lineup of coins)  https://www.atomic-trade.com/

AND

AllCrypt (who have many coins for trade also , impressive lineup) https://www.allcrypt.com/market

the runtime error in the windows wallet is a qt dll file issue,  1 million coins mined allready ?? moving on now.......
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni ::Launched:: 3 days mining :: PoS :: No premine on: April 19, 2014, 06:05:04 AM
That is probably a false positive , shows up in quite a few others but the wallet is not working , i may build a daemon see if it works.....
Whats with the Trojan-Downloader.win32.Agent.gen.103 virustotal finds https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/2d86b88828232b47c2246010352cbe4afc64b3ebc6dd717992757cac1031594d/analysis/1397886871/  ?
Could it be a false positive? I have seen this on other coins too.   Huh
I checked with Avast and spybot, they find nothing.

1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni ::Launched:: 3 days mining :: PoS :: No premine on: April 19, 2014, 05:55:20 AM
save your time, i got the client to build, it synchs up with the network , as soon as you start mining the run time error comes up again,

if the client cannot be built in windows even if you mine in a pool how will you get your coins......

i do like late night ninja launches but unless someone can push corrected source to github to enable people to compile the wallet

this is a deal breaker for me,    oh and i tried one of the developers miners in a sandbox...... same error..... loads ok then as soon as you mine runtime errors galore......   clearly either a mistake or Huh

possible, but not sure who would want to hash away , the proof of stake has the netwrok running and this happened a few times before and the block ended up getting solved......
