541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 02, 2022, 04:15:18 AM
Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/28/binance-will-not-block-russian-accounts-after-ukraine-request.html

Binance is refusing to lock account belonging to Russian customer's, what is your take on this? I believe that this might be a better move due to Russian Citizens that don't desire war still being able to move their Roubles to crypto for safe storage.

Binance is being considerate which is very understandable, between I think not only binance has said this including coinbase (I read it somewhere) I think such action will be too hard on the rest of the innocent Russian citizens who are as equally victims of a dictator as the Ukrainian, their only crime is being a citizen of a country whose president is unapproachable.
The various sanctions slammed on Russia are already affecting the economy, doing this will be too much.
542  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation hits Russia on: March 02, 2022, 04:04:32 AM
USDT records new all-time high against Russian ruble as inflation hits

War will always damage the economy of the affected countries, this is the 5th day of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the US, EU and generally the UN have been sanctioning Russia since the start of the Russia - Ukraine war which includes removing Russia from Swift and many other sanctions. Russia's central bank doubled key interest rates on Feb. 28, from 9.5% to 20% and USDT which is pegged to USD which has increased 30% against Russian ruble (RUR) within five days of war. Bitcoin trading volume on crypto exchanges in Ukraine spiked 200%.

This is likely the beginning of the war if it does not cease anytime soon, I am been seeing some people saying the EU needs Russia than Russia needs them, that they depend on crude oil and many mineral resources from Russia, but what is causing the inflation in Russia is because of the Russia - Ukraine war. This could be more severe if the war does not ends soon. With the look of what is going on, Russia has been planing this for years and this has led to some people killed and many left their homes.

Nothing good comes out of war except very damaging aftermath, many infrastructures are being destroyed which on its own is a setback to the economy of the country in question, in addition to sanctions from various political and economic unions which will further damage the economy even more,
Putin is a hothead and I hope he realizes the depth of his action, he can decide to put an end to the war to prevent further destruction.

Russia is not the only crude oil producing country, in this situation, they don't have a choice but to go with other available alternatives.
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 [ANN] SnowCone: A Suite of Tools for DAO Creation & Management for $AVAX ✅ on: March 02, 2022, 03:40:37 AM
Your previous project didn't seems to have a bright future, seeing from how the thread went silent with no updates and all in just few months and their telegram channel is no longer available. So what is the logical reason for why people should trust you with your next project?

Exactly, what are they going to do differently this time that was not done in the first project? Looking back at the scope of the first project, it was unrealistic, they promise to build 3k ATM across UK, a new project with no reserve funds, how were they going to raise the money to achieve that.
Now there is a new project with no team information,  I didn't see such details on the website, no whitepaper to check, am curious if the team are the same as the failed project or they are a different set of people?
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if ... on: February 28, 2022, 06:31:59 PM
I think most countries' governments don't really know the best approach to apply when it comes to btc, I read that the bill to ban PoW has been postponed, I sense the main reason for the postponement is because of this latest development with Ukraine crypto donations, even if they won't publicly admit it, it must have influenced their decision somehow,  they have seen the power of crypto and decentralization.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and BTC deserves the biggest space in our crypto portfolio on: February 28, 2022, 04:01:52 PM
It looks like selling your crypto for money when they are profitable is more safer than holding them for long, my point is only very few coins are worth holding for many years, if you still doubt about this go on coinmarketcap and look at most coins that came into this world in 2018 many of them have no volume again, the shocking one to me is gowithmi, a project that my elder brother praised so much at the time but today it's volume is not up to 50k, many projects will face same fate, be smart

Gowithme was just another ico hype project, with its broad concept and the team where unable to develop it accordingly, am surprise you are bringing that project up because the hype didn't last for too long before the value start depreciating and the community went suddenly quite, it seem the team already had their pocket filled and have no need to further the development of the project,
The success of a project depends on the determination of the team, don't expect to see volume when there is nothing new coming from the team.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Only invest an amount you can afford to lose" on: February 28, 2022, 03:50:38 PM
I think people who "only invest an amount you can afford to lose" still end up losing their money. Because after all is said and done, the human psychology will view any investment amount that took convincing yourself that it was "ok to invest" as a risky amount.

And they will fall for FUD and FOMO almost just as hard as if they invested an amount that they couldn't afford to lose.

The right saying should be: "invest an amount you are comfortable with losing". That way, you won't keep looking at charts every 2 minutes with your finger on the sell button.

Yeah but the difference here is.... they will lose a small amount as against losing a huge amount if they would have invested more than what they can afford to loss, one way or another if you are not careful, you will lose money, to me, i think they interpreter the same thing, nobody wants to actually lose any money no matter how small, if it happens, the impact won't be to hard because the invested amount is withing what you can afford.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IN THE PHASE OF UKRAINE DONATION on: February 28, 2022, 03:33:52 PM
Well they are not obligated to do if they don't want to, but it would be nice to show some empathy, am also wondering who among rest of the exchanges will follow the footstep of binance, this is a trying time for the Ukrainians and they need any help they can get from well wishers all over the world, binance set a good example, lets see if other will follow.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things are going with new crypto is worrisome on: February 27, 2022, 06:39:28 AM
Almost everyone I knew now creates their own tokens  Grin these guys aren't even crypto developers to begin with, they have no coding experience or knowledge now this makes me worry, imagine how many crypto tokens that are created by inexperienced personal, I think we need to buckle up for there will be huge rain of scam tokens upon us than what we've seen before...... Sigh! I wish that only few qualified people knew how to build blockchain projects.

By mare looking you can easily tell some of these projects that are created by wannabe dev you just mentioned are not to be trusted, they usually don't have anything to offer when you read the concept,
My advice is to participate in new projects from reputable launchpad like coinlist, bscpad, seedify, Trustpad, Gamefi any other reputable launchpad out there, to participate on any random projects these days is very risky, the majority are scams, especially those pretending to be NFTs.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question to community_Kenneth B. Moon on: February 27, 2022, 06:15:18 AM
Just like @romero121 said, if you want to build your work portfolio and have more people patronize your service for btc payment, the forum is always open for everyone to showcase their services, it doesn't matter your location,  you can always work from anywhere,  all you need is to be on the right section to do that, give samples of your work to get an offer.
550  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Watch out for cryptocurrency QR code generators, they're almost all fake! on: February 27, 2022, 05:54:05 AM
I think that is something the search engine should look into, if there are fake among good ones coming up at the top of a search then the search engine must be aware of this and do something (if they can) to prevent people from falling victim of this fake qr code.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bounty Campaign a Sustainable way to grow your Crypto Community? on: February 26, 2022, 07:51:36 PM
No doubtful, bounty campaigns draws a ton of attention to your community and enlighten potential investors about your project. But at the long run, is this development sustainable? Is it reliable enough to grow your project?

There are some bounty campaigns that have run for months in this forum, it must mean there is a positive outcome from the campaign otherwise those campaigns won't keep running, bounty campaign is another form of advertising anyways so it is very possible most of the campaigns bring positive results and also help the project to build a community, if not most of the project conducting a campaign will find other means of advertising.
Most social media campaigns are run for this purpose,  to grow and build a strong community.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia cut off from Swift is fantastic opportunity for bitcoin on: February 26, 2022, 06:36:27 PM
I'm reading many articles explaining that Russia shall be cut off from the SWIFT global interbank payments system, as a sanction in response to its invasion of Ukraine. That means it would be impossible to make bank transfers between Russia and most other countries.

I see this as an absolutely fantastic opportunity for BTC.
If you can"t use banks, just use BTC and be happy.

Perhaps now they will appreciate the true meaning of decentralization, maybe this war is a blessing in disguise for the crypto community and most especially for btc mainstream recognition.  By the time they find it hard to transact with the bank and realize how btc has come to their aid, I am sure they will see btc from a different and more clear perspective.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent events should make everyone withdraw all their coins to their own wallets on: February 26, 2022, 06:23:20 PM
Sure there is a high risk of leaving your funds in an exchange-controlled wallet because of unforeseen circumstances like the one happening right now with Russia and Ukraine, and other risks like exchange hack et al. However, there are several reasons that compel some people to have their funds in the exchange, same applies to having your funds in the bank, can you imagine someone having a stack of physical cash at home? That will be like inviting trouble especially when you are in a not-so-secured country.
There is a good and bad side of both, perhaps the former has a much higher risk than the latter.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says on: February 26, 2022, 05:57:36 PM
Such refreshing topic out of all the fud nowadays. Words sure do spread fast specially when it comes from a reputable person I remember seeing dozens of content creators covering about this story. Which is a good thing to boost everyone's morale after a couple of red days. Now about the guy, I appreciate him being open about his views not like others who spout one thing and do another; talk crap about crypto but secretly buy and hold. I definitely am gon keep tabs on this guy.

Totally agree, he is the real btc evangelist imo, not afraid to say what he thinks about btc and fiat, very open in his opinion, I like that about him, he is a wealthy man but still appreciates btc and what he thinks it could become in future.
Some people may say don't act on what other people say, but sometimes we need a wakeup call, even if you don't act on it now, it has left a doubt.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will MEME coin rule the world? on: February 25, 2022, 06:20:25 PM
In a space where we have btc, eth and some few good alts I don't know what gives the op the idea that meme coins will have a chance let alone "rule the world". If you are referring to the metervase and the buzz it has been carrying lately, it is too soon to tell because I can't deny that some metervase projects are building something remarkable that could change the way we do things in the future, but that is still years ahead,  and you can't seriously compare your meme coin to be in that category, or any other meme coin for that matter, memecoins don't have any real utility except for pump and dump so stop imagining things.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was tempted to sell off altcoin on: February 25, 2022, 05:41:57 PM
I don't know why you should be tempted to sell off your portfolio if it only contains btc and eth (if I were in your shoes I won't bother, but this is your decision to make) the point is, btc has experienced worst situations than this and always come out even stronger, except you have such a pressing needs that require urgent money I don't see the point, or perhaps you believe if you sell now you can buy back cheaper (that is, if you still want to reinvest) otherwise no need.

Even if it's alts, time to sell already passed (imo) selling now at -60% is like throwing your asset away (well depend on the alts) if they are shitcoins and you fear they may not be able to recover, I would say dispose of them ( again it is your decision ).
557  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia's Stock Market Amidst War Against Ukraine on: February 25, 2022, 05:25:57 PM
Rising up in war against brothers is a good point actually, I leave the war started for nothing and none will get profit out of this between these two counties who are directing participating this war. Stock markets will fall during this time especially the centralized markets in these two countries while I heard many people are trying to take cash from the banks in Ukraine and leave this country as soon as they can, while the government ordered the banks to do not give any cash to people(a Ukrainian friend of mine told me that.) also the other problem in Ukraine is about finding gas stations. All these bad situations will affect these two countries in the long term while other countries like China are taking benefit from it.

Of course, this will have a lasting effect on both economies, the chart should not come as a surprise,  you don't engage in war and expect your economy to blossom, I guess once the mind is made up to engage in war all thoughts about the effects are kept aside.
The only thing that saddens me is the government's action towards banks not to give access to people to withdraw their funds, this is the control people detest, they should keep people stranded and unprotected. At times like this, people should be able to have access to cash to make quick and sudden decisions.
558  Economy / Economics / Re: Who gain's from War ? on: February 25, 2022, 05:09:41 PM
Nobody gain from war to be honest, a war never beings any positive outcome rather it will dip a whole in the political, social and economic state of the countries involved, even those selling weapons may gain monetary value but the impact will be felt by every country, look at what is already happening in the stock and crypto market as a result of this war.
Going to war do more harm than good, and it sounds terrible when some people will be looking for how to profit from other people's misery.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MEXICAN SENATOR PLANS TO INTRODUCE BILL TO MAKE BITCOIN LEGAL TENDER on: February 24, 2022, 06:17:48 PM

I am not sure how likely this bill can be passed in Mexico's legislature and eventual signing into law...but let's just hope there is enough support for it but considering the fact that am sure IMF is now alarmed about it let's see if politicians will never give up in the face of possible threats and pressure like what happened in El Salvador. Anyway, what is noticeable here is that there is really that possibility for Mexico to make Bitcoin a legal tender...maybe not this year but there is always now that possibility no matter how slim and the fact that this is another good advertising or media mileage for Bitcoin.

That's why it is the duty of the legislative bodies to find a better way of passing the bill, since you are not a lawmaker you may not fully understand how it will work buddy, but those whose duty it is will find a way once they have agreed on the terms.
IMF couldn't get El-Salvador to back down I don't see what role they will be playing here (especially if the Mexican government is not indebted to them), they should already get the message from the actions of El-Salvador.
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says on: February 24, 2022, 05:51:07 PM
Perhaps the reason why news like this resurfaces is because of the current situation, some people already losing hope or confused about what will happen, if he urges people to buy doesn't mean you should act on it, he is giving his opinion, it is left for everyone to decide what to do.
Besides buying the dip is always a good choice, and since nobody can tell how low btc can go before the market will recover, there is nothing wrong with buying a little amount in every dip.
