1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin affect other Crypto? on: August 16, 2017, 02:21:10 PM
The thing is bitcoin is the very first crypto currency and most of the people trust bitcoin than any other crypto currency. The price of bitcoin increases, other alt coins may increase or remain in the same level, but when bitcoin's price decreases most of the time other altcoins also go down along with it. But this is not likely to happen all the time and the price change between bitcoin and altcoin doesn't happen immediately.
1202  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: August 16, 2017, 01:17:18 PM
"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency"

article published July, 5, 2017
https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/

"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients."

It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores.
Well now that Japan has taken a step forward, maybe other countries  will or maybe not.  Because people think that if they use bitcoin they might end up in jail because  bitcoin is "only used for illegal purposes and not for good things ". And they will think that they are also getting scammed because of bitcoin 's price being this high.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: August 16, 2017, 11:12:15 AM
I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
Nope ,definitely not. Maybe some other crypto currency will be there in place of bitcoin and people will be like:- Will this "so and so" currency be used for buying groceries? Will it take over US dollar? Can i use this currency for investing in other alt coins? And it will continue on and on..
Bitcoin is stable and strong ,i agree but i don't think it will survive for 100 years.Don't get me wrong but everybody has a different opinion.
1204  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make money only with BTC on: August 15, 2017, 06:53:46 PM
I hear many saying they don't mess with altcoins...how do you make money with btc?

Just buy the dips, sell for usd (or other fiat), then buy back in...rinse and repeat?

I'm not talking about long term holding but about how to build up your bitcoin without touching alts.

Thanks

Not all alt coins are bad.  Some of em are good, so you can go for it . But when you ask how to earn in the form of bitcoin  then I would say investing in something using bitcoin  or gambling your bitcoin if you are willing to take the risk, writing  articles on blogs and forums( signature campaign as well)  and many more.  These are just some of the examples which you may or may not find helpful. So good luck!
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin health insurance? on: August 15, 2017, 06:00:56 PM
Are there any major american health care insurance providers that accept bitcoins? If not, could this be a good idea in the future?
Dude do you think that you will spend  every thing using  bitcoin?  Like you can't expect  every thing  to paid and received only in the form of bitcoin  . Even now most of the places don't accept debit / credit cards, and you are asking for bitcoin.  Just convert your bitcoin to  fiat and use it for your expenditure .
1206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: August 15, 2017, 01:56:00 PM
I've discovered Bitcoin few days ago, but I am skeptical about few things, why would I invest money in Bitcoins at the end of the day,why would I convert money into Bitcoins?

If I want to buy stocks or invest money I can easily invest with real $. Why would I convert my $ to bitcoins?
If I want to gamble , I can simply gamble on websites that require $ as currency, why would I convert it to bitcoins?
What's the difference between Bitcoins and dolars? What does bitcoin bring to the table that real $ don't, less taxes, more income?

Simple. Dollar's price doesn't increase like bitcoin and dollar is not decentralized like bitcoin . Also no one is forcing you to use bitcoin for buying stock or gambling. But bitcoin would fetch you better profit by just keeping it idle. Lets say you keep 100 $ with you for 10 days ,will  the price change ? No,it wont but do the same for bitcoin ,the price will definitely change. So it depends on you whether or not you have to go for bitcoin or not.

1207  Economy / Speculation / Re: $100000 by 2024? on: August 14, 2017, 06:39:58 PM
A nice trend line on the logarithmic chart to keep track off

It seems to be working. I see a lot of people using the linear chart with Bitcoin, I think it's pointless at this point. To understand what's going on you need the logarithmic chart, otherwise you are going to think we are on a constant bubble. People have been looking at the linear chart since $1800 and saying it's too pumped because when you look at the all time graph in the linear view, it gives you a ridiculous green candle. Gotta look at this thing in log mode from now on.

A Hundred thousand dollars? Aint that too much to achieve in 6 and a half years ? I am not saying that Its impossible for bitcoin not reaching or surpassing such a huge amount,it definitely can but what i am saying is that sometimes when you have too much of expectations ,it leads to greediness and if it goes your way then it would hard for any person to face something when that thing will be opposite of his expectations ,so just keep your fingers crossed and even i wish that bitcoin should reach 100,000$ by 2024.
1208  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin the new gold on: August 14, 2017, 05:50:29 PM
I've been analyzing all this happening with bitcoin and I'm coming to the following conclusion:

Before the most important asset was the gold in which everyone wanted and possessed, the governments were displacing gold with money a centralized asset which lost its value day by day.

Bitcoin is an asset that goes up in price for all the features that Satoshi thought and gave to it.

Today there are hundreds of altcoins and for sure there are some that are much better than bitcoin, and that these will be more used than bitcoin in the future, but bitcoin will be the king of all the new digital gold. People will use other altcoins as well, but the savings and investments will be in bitcoin, and this is for the simple reason that it was the first altcoin, and that people believed in it from its beginnings.

The bitcoin is here to stay and has created a revolution in the monetary system around the world. And we can be proud to be living the moment when this is happening.

Bitcoin is heading to $4,000 usd per coin and I am sure that the price of bitcoin in 3 years will be exponentially higher than is today.

In Bitcoin we trust, god bless you all

So bitcoin is the new god(like the saying "In god we trust and god bless you all" idk much about it so don't kill me). I don't know how many million gods people create every day . But bitcoin being the new gold may or may not be possible. Agreed that all the things you said are somewhat true but bitcoin is not assured of replacing gold, bitcoin has good features but gold is something that will take years to get replaced even if it gets extinct. But the Price of bitcoin it's going to increase which i can assure you.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: August 14, 2017, 04:40:14 PM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

Not a chance, banks are financial back bones of every country and do you think that 21 million bitcoins will be sufficient enough for all the countries. There are more banks than bitcoin,so imagine how much money banks will be possessing , so unless and until something huge comes up banks are going to exist and you or I can't help it.
1210  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Long Bitcoin Will Bullish on: August 14, 2017, 11:07:19 AM
Now... this year 2017 is a reflection of 2013...  Bitcoin prices rose significantly along with increased adoption and problem-solving. But whether Bitcoin prices can still rise in 2018 later? While the price correction of the price spike has not occurred at all. So what do you think guys?
If it rises or not doesn't matter for one year especially for me. Its increase or decrease only matters on a long run and obviously like anyone else  i want it to increase. But if it doesn't show good results in like 5 years ,then i would take necessary steps. But such things is not likely to happen because Bitcoin is the very first crypto-currency and if it falls ,then all crypto currencies will meet its end is what i have heard. So please people stop having such accusations on bitcoin.

1211  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin over 4000 in Aug? on: August 13, 2017, 09:42:27 PM
Can Bitcoin pass 4000 usd this August or will it correct at 4000?
It did cross 4000 dollars, now let's wait and see how many more milestones bitcoin will accomplish and how many people will change their thoughts on bitcoin. I am excited to see bitcoin going over the price of 5000/6000$ at the end of this year. But too much of expectations is not good so just hope for the best.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to make sure you don't lose money on: August 13, 2017, 08:20:58 PM
I'm about to launch a "gambling" website soon which will not take any fees at all and will only live off ads/donations (not sure how well it will go, but we'll see). So the chances to double your money would actually be 50%, not a bit lower. I already have implemented a coin flip mode, where one player creates a new coin flip game and the other joins it, but I also want to create a mode which does not require a second user. For example slots or roulette, since you can play it alone and don't need to wait for a second player. One of the main reasons I want that kind of mode is that because most likely at first the website will not be frequently visited and I don't want users waiting minutes (or even hours) just to play a single game.

And I could make a mode that you could play alone, but what if someone keeps winning and winning? The money the player wins won't come from someone else, but from me. And I don't want to risk losing everything myselfmyself and then not have enough money to give out.

Anyways, I need an idea for a gamemode that a player could play by himself (WITHOUT a house advantage) without there being any other users on the website, while I wouldn't have to risk losing big money myself, because some user got lucky.

I think this is impossible, but perhaps there is some way, I've been thinking of something like "out of every $10 played, $5 will be lost", but I believe it could be abused and what if someone bets a huge amount once and wins?

So, any ideas?
What you are saying is that you want is to take money from someone for free ,like if he puts 100$ on stake,he would get only 50$ back and you would get the rest (correct me if I am wrong). People are already not happy even if they get double, now that they will lose half of their money,no one would do that. Anyhow all the best for your website.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: i have 1.3 btc and i am confuse that invest in B8Ball ico or hold more . on: August 13, 2017, 04:38:13 PM

1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: August 13, 2017, 04:01:30 PM
Since bitcoin is trending now world wide because you can easily earn this and it exchange in real cash. Is bitcoin the new value of currency in the internet? Is he the new money? Can we use it in buying foods and etc in the future?
Not yet, but can be the new era of currencies in the future if and only if a few countries try to officiallise it,then yes it can be. Then you can buy all the food you want using bitcoin in the future. Just because it is popular and definitely NOT earned easily it cannot be a new era of currencies just like that.
1215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: August 13, 2017, 03:20:52 PM
Please forgive my cynicism.
I was offered bitcoins in I think 2010 when they were 50p each.
I was tempted to buy £200 worth but had been just lost £200 to a ponzi money scheme so decided against it!

I have seem recent reports saying they are now worth £2,500

Are these the same Bitcoins?
So would I be able to actually sell for cash or money in the bank?

Sorry to ask, but I see lots of people saying they are millionaires but don't think I have seen anyone with the actual money banked.

I mean, my 400 bitcoins would now be worth £1,000,000 and I could actually sell them for £1Million less commissions?

You gotta see I'm sceptical.
Please tell me I haven't made the biggest mistake of my life?
I feel sorry for you! You could have been a millionaire by now but alas it doesn't work out your  way every time does it? But then you were not sure whether it is a scam or not,it was your gut feeling that stopped you because of someone who had already spammed you before,so it might be a mistake that you did but most of the people think that something or the other Will try to scam them.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will banks start a war against bitcoin on: August 13, 2017, 11:38:57 AM
I know we are still at a start of cryptocurrencies, but bitcoin is growing with lightning speed right now and some banks already see it as a potential threat.
There has been a lot of accusations form banks, that bitcoin is perfect for money laundering and is used for supporting crime.
I think they can do a lot of harm to bitcoin market and they will eventually start with harsh campaign against it.
Do you think it will happen and when?
Quite possible.People can do anything and expecting only a harsh campaign is very less.Central Bank of a few countries have already released an article for not getting tricked by people who use bitcoin. But then why won't banks protest against bitcoin, banks are financial back bones of any country and if it gets replaced by crytpo currency then no one would be able the future of economies.

1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion on: August 12, 2017, 06:38:22 PM
@iluvbitcoins. I am the 3 eyed raven in this thread, I know all that was and all that will be. Cheesy

Wait for the next episode and see how accurate my 3rd eye is in seeing these things.
We all know that it's bull shit(no offense) but the truth hurts as it always does. I mean everyone can figure out these things after HBO got hacked.  Also the leaked matter that you mentioned is kind of true but is not accurate enough.  The whole season 7 has been leaked so just hope season 8 doesn't get leaked like season 7 otherwise HBO will have to face a loss and bitcoin will also get a bad name.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a relation between Bitcoinprice and Gold price? on: August 09, 2017, 02:46:52 PM
Hi folks,

I'm new posting here but old investor. I was wondering if there's a direct correlation between bitcoin price and  www.bitcoin.com  and Gold price  www.goldprice.com .
If you look at the charts in evident that gold started to drop when bitcoin did or vice versa? Is there any systematic correlation?
Thanks in advance
Nope I don't think so. The reason why is people don't buy and sell bitcoin to buy /sell gold. Since it doesn't have a direct or indirect link to both bitcoin and gold the price cannot be influenced by the other. But there is a common thing that influences the price is the US dollar, the price of gold and bitcoin may increase/decrease in a smaller ratio because of the US dollar. The main thing that influences most of the price is the common people.
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the other crypto currencies that exist? on: August 08, 2017, 06:52:00 PM
Next to Bitcoins there are several different other crypto currencies like DASH, ETC, ETHEREUM, LTC, XRP. Do you believe in them? Are there any Advantages and/or disadvantages?  Huh
They are also crypto-currencies just like bitcoin, but then they were introduced late in this world,so they are not popular just like that of bitcoin. Every thing and everyone is there for a reason and that reason includes both advantages and disadvantages. So yes, other crypto-currencies like dash, ethereum, litecoin etc do have advantages and disadvantages. And i guess i believe that crypto-currencies have a long time to be there for,so yeah, i believe in most of the crypto-currencies i am aware of.
1220  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: At Only $500 on: August 08, 2017, 04:53:18 PM
Bitcoin is now known as the digital currency that keeps on growing fast and jumping by leaps and bounds. So far, the return for investment (ROI) with Bitcoin is very, very positive..that is compared to other investment vehicles like stocks, bonds, forex, derivatives, commodities, gold, oil, etc.

Now this is a very theoretical question: What if one day Bitcoin would crash and within days it would go back to its $500 level...would you still support Bitcoin and HODL it or would you decide that it is becoming worthless and also join the sell market?

I would be selecting the best answer for this question...so come on and enjoy punching the keyboard!
Most of the people are here for a long term basis and will support bitcoin for quite some time i believe. People will join the sell market because no one wants to face a loss so if they have a chance to avoid it why won't they do it? Just because some people will sell their bitcoin when bitcoin crashes doesn't mean they would consider it worthless and won't support it! If bitcoin came from 500$ to 3400$  in the past ,why won't it rise again?
