After reported vulnerabilities in OpenSSL, we applied necessary patches to our system. Incapsula, our DDOS mitigation provider is still working patching their system.

In order to provide required security, both system need to be patched. We are in constant contact with Incapsula and are working with them to complete necessary procedures. Until then Bitstamp has decided to temporally deactivate:

-account registration,

We will keep you updated on the progress.

Thank you for understanding.

Best regards

Who is doing buying and selling on Bitstamp now, that we cannost login? There is still volume... https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd
1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Russia to Drop USD as reserve currency - could mean 5000+ USD bitcoins on: April 02, 2014, 02:50:27 PM
A thread full of people who have no clue what is even going on in the world. Russia's economy cant survive in the long run with sanctions.... Its plain and simple, if you think otherwise you are clueless to how the international economy fundamentally works and should probably stick to speculations.

Do you even know character of these sanctions or are you simply talking out of your ass? I bet the latter, actually Kremlin already benefitted from crisis as they bought back cheaply strategic companies privatized (stolen) in the Yeltsin era. Pigs panic sold shares of Sberbank, Lukoil and few others as much as 30% below their market value during takeover of Crymea. Price has since recovered.

So far the EU/USA sanctions limited themselves to specific credit providers and small group of influental Russians. Non-issue for large export based economy. Even then price of corn is already up by 25% (Russia is responsible for 17% of export of this vital resource) Everybody is fearful of escalating as the world market is already fragile and ripe for correction.
1143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Russia to Drop USD as reserve currency - could mean 5000+ USD bitcoins on: April 02, 2014, 02:43:43 PM
It wont matter, they can drop what ever they want, sanctions will screw them.

You probadly missed, that BRIC (most notably China) countries donīt play these sanction pissing games. Russian exports like somebody before me said have intristic value. Gas, oil, metals, food and weapons. There will always be market for those and Europeans are already backpedalling in sanction department.

If you add cold war approach, that Washington assumed against leading BRIC powers, way overbought wallstreet, USD expansionary policy and high debts of western countries - we could be heading towards global economic meltdown (this time no chinese bailout). It could mean megabubble for bitcoin.

Itīs not mere  speculation. Investment gurus like Mark Spitznagel predicted months ago, that 2014 will be critical for global economy.

In short, I agree with original poster. It is highly possible.

Does central bank of China really want to ban bitcoin locally?

"China's central bank has issued a document on March 18, April 15 asked to stop all Bitcoin transactions."

http://live.sina.com.cn/zt/l/v/finance/globalnews1/

If true, how hard would bitcoin be hit?

Davyd05, QuestionAuthority welcome to my ignore list.

fuck racism

I'm from Nuevo Mexico, I got my degree from UNM and my wife is part Mexican and part Paiute Indian. You think you know what you don't know.

How do you think I know there's a shitload of drunk Indians there? I'm from there dumbass. lol

AFAIK, Nuevo Mexico is blue meth, fathers with terminal cancer, badass black-chileans and mad neonazis. Which one are you?

New Mexico - it's where Albuquerque is located. It's a state in the United States.

Oh, I'd probably put a Bitcoin ATM in Antarctica before Albuquerque. More people would see it there.

Itīs funny, when two white Americans call each other names over a joke. Like watching retards compete at chess.

How high is the possibility we will break into 400ī?

Cosmofly is just a loser who likes to make bs predictions obtained from his ass. Why? see my first assertion.

Large sell off in China gaining momentum now  Wink
1149  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if war comes? More and more WWIII signals on: March 04, 2014, 04:18:22 PM
Yeah,

happy new year to all. There are many signals out there that an epic WWIII is coming. America is bankrupt, China and Russia are getting stronger and stronger. The US Dollar gets more and more worthless.

From what Iīve readed is that America is planing the next big war. And this will be THE war that kills most life on the earth. Only the elite and rich people will survive.

America has built a belt over Russia and is installing more and more war machines over Europe.

America has ordered over 14 Million potassium iodide tablets wiche are used to protect from radiation. Tablets have to arrive till February 1st.

Iīm not a pro and only translate what Iīve read on an german blog. But the future looks really really dark.

So, HODL? Or sell and get out of the war zone? Smiley

I dunno about a world war, I think people especially the young generation have grown to hate war, which makes it harder for war hungry elite to launch new wars. Good example is how syria war was haulted by people movement which v likely could've triggered a world war.

However all I can say is if you can afford to always be ready. Indeed we live in dark times

"Liberation" of Syria (read: Handing yet another country to Al-kaida) was not stopped by people movement, but repeated vetoes of US/Izrael proposals by Russia and China in UN security council. I donīt remember any million men peace marches in either Washington or London.

Young people hate blood, but donīt mind, when someone else is doing the bloodletting for them.

Last two lines are however pure gold and I fully agree with them.

Well, Ukranians got until 3:00 GMT to surrender.

-> http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/03/03/uk-ukraine-crisis-ultimatum-idUKBREA221AI20140303

Shit is about to hit the fan big time... Shocked

Itīs a propaganda by westerners, who back Maidan (in this case CNN, who refused to give their source), Russians demented this, not that they have reason for ultimatum in situation, when Ukrainians defect to them in thousands. Simply FUD.

http://en.itar-tass.com/world/721748

Lol, you claim propaganda and then you post that as a source.

Far more likely that Putin tested the waters with a ultimatum and then backed down and claimed he never issued it.

Uh huh, itīs not like Putin is holding westerners and their new Kiev petdogs by their balls, while Russians already secured peninsula with no resistance at all (population is on their side), he has to "test waters", lol. You have some great info, sir.

Anyway, the point is, that misinformed idiots, who pray for yet another Syria/Lybia/Iraq will be letdown. There will be no war. Price of bitcoin will only be affected (positively), if indeed Eu shoots itself in the foot and tries to sanction Russian federation, cutting itself off from its natural resources and russian oligarchs from their accounts full of dollars they stole from their homeland (Cyprus redux). Billions of dollars would have to be redirected in that case, triggering surge of new fiat into cryptos.

Seems to me a drop to SMA200 on Stamp is getting more likely. Support line of the triangle has been slightly pierced, price is persistently staying there and the candles are getting more squeezed. Given the insignificant distance I suspect a downwards breakout would carry enough momentum to at least short term pierce SMA200 as well, possibly towards bottom or close to it as a repeat of April post-crash patterns.

Would love if some more competent analyst could confirm with actual TA and not just this nonsense Cheesy

edit: Pic for clearer conveyance of meaning

How high is SMA200 this week? 450USD/BTC?

EDIT: Sorry, wrote reply before charts were visible.

I am calling BS. My withdrawal (several thousands of dollars) has been pending since 16th february. All Bitstamp did was sending of KYC questions on 18th. Since then NOTHING. And no I canīt use the money for trades either, they are just floating in limbo right now.

The problem everyone is talking about is BTC not $

So itīs perfectly okay, that people can continue to play with virtual money, but their bank accounts will stay empty? Thanks for clearing that up.

I had the same KYC email when I requested a SEPA withdrawal, and I just answered the questions and provided a copy of my Passport and they proceeded my withdrawal, so I am not sure what are you waiting for...

One moment, sir. I answered all the questions. However I didnīt scan my passport - I donīt have one and told them so (they already have the ID card and copies of bills anyway). Keep in mind, Bitstamp didnt reject my withdrawal or asked for any other information, they just went silent, while keeping the withdrawal money in no manīs land (Status: In process). I can provide pictures if needed.

mymymymyy i am very uncomfortable with the recent uptrend of btc price these last few days.

also could it be that new bitcoin 'bubble' (skyrocketing price) to be unleashed because of that US debt ceiling issue to be reassessed next febuary? http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/19/us-usa-fiscal-idUSBRE9BF1FW20131219

No, that will be only actual, when it hits news (ie 2-4 weeks before deadline), itīs way too soon for that.
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: I've cashed out but this is not the end. on: December 21, 2013, 03:40:31 AM
WHOA!!

guy with 19 posts, been here 6 weeks is bailing

STOP THE PRESSES!!!

SELL! SELL! SELL!

So oneīs background in trading is now judged upon amount of time spent on Bitcointalk? Youīd make lovable financial advisor.
1158  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: December 18, 2013, 10:23:54 AM
Brisance is right though. Why would you come to a TA thread if you don't believe in TA?

Read the part I put in bold. I also get annoyed by people coming here just to drop something like "TA doesn't work, don't you know that". Just as bad however: telling those people off by dropping some seriously dumb sexist one liner.

I think your missing the point and it certainly isn't sexist.

There are a load of parasites here who simply wait for masterluc to come to this thread to start their little tirades on how ridiculous he is then there is the other half who come by to put everyone down on how TA is nothing but imaginary lines and unicorns, if you took my comments as being sexist I apologize to you it was made in jest and not with any intention at portraying females as being particularly bitchy.

I have nothing more to add to this subject.

Gentlemen, I would really appreciate, if you would put your extraordinary brains back to work  Wink to hell with naysayers, they are the ones, who will keep losing money and respect, not you. And thatīs all that matters.
1159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: December 18, 2013, 06:08:02 AM
Market just broke through 2700 CNY on China. With the current price difference, its only matter of time before thousands of coins flow from China to western exchanges...
1160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: December 17, 2013, 04:27:31 AM
No legit target during few years. Fuck it, I go away.

we both know you're not going anywhere...

Its his party... He can cry if he wants to.

I prefer him around though.  And internet suicides are always overvalued.

Why should he cry? He is one of the few guys here, who consistently made money, playing this market.
