1181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it true that 90% of current Bitcoins are owned by 50 people? on: November 29, 2013, 05:44:42 PM
I read this somewhere but the claim was not sourced. Is it true? If not, what's the actually distribution like amongst top 50 holders?

Satoshi alone owns million+ coins, but he hasn´t touched his wallet since 2010. Those coins could be lost for all we know.

I don't think its likely for satoshi to lost his bitcoins.  Tongue

I can spell it out for you. He could be dead, thus billion+ dollars are just lying there like some mythical treasure straight out of Tolkien.

What are the current bear opinions? The bull opinions are very well known.
Bid sum on Gox is starting decreasing a little bit. 2000$ then crash?

I dont believe we will make 2000 this year, not enough fiat for that and infrastructure of exchanges is already struggling as we speak. 1500 (Gox only) is the ceiling I think.
1184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction Overdue on: November 29, 2013, 12:40:24 PM
Past performance is not indicative of future performance.  Why do people keep bringing up what BTC did in April?  Or 2012?  Or last week....?  It doesn't matter.

It does matter. Market ultimately revolves around psychology and human mind never really changes.
1185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 29, 2013, 12:33:20 PM
so its very calm on gox, china is awake, europe is awake, usa starting the day, any explanation for the boredom?

Silence before storm  Wink during evening Gox and China will make a run on gold parity. What happens when they get there is anyones guess.

Nothing speacial will happen, only that 1 BTC will be more expensive than 1 oz.

I have to disagree here, parity with gold is atleast similar to passing 1000 USD/BTC in relevance. There will be both panic buys and cash outs. Either Bitcoin will accelerate towards "moon" or start crashing hard. Can´t wait to find out  Smiley

Few minutes ago somebody bought 250btc on stamp... with 0% fee, it's a perfect time for arbitrage + gox announced today that their bank doubled the limit for SEPA withdraws.

What are you talking about? Gox dropped fees, not Stamp. I can certainly see them in my order book
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value by Christmas on: November 28, 2013, 08:01:05 PM
Holy Crap!

Look at the order book today!

Someone has placed a 1.8 million-dollar wall on the 'bid' side! If the price goes down to 925, he or she or they wants to buy damn near 2 million bucks worth of coin.  That looks like a strong price support.  I bet the price won't hit 924 before New years, now, and I had been thinking it would dip below 900.

Or, if anybody with large holdings wants to sell, they can sell right now without moving the market much.

It is decent support, but let me ask you a question. Were you around in april? 100k+ of coins were dumped on Gox in several hours. And today 2k wall at Bitstamp was eaten in about five minutes. Several thousands coins are still nothing in this market, if the pressure is strong enough.

$720

I am with you.
1190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Possible bitcoin crash catalyst? The rise of altcoins on: November 28, 2013, 07:37:28 PM
During the last bubble in March I bought LTC and PPC just to diversify and hedge my BTC a little bit. The Bitcoin price was so high that I was not comfortable buying at such a high price but I did not want my money in dollars.

Didnt LTC fall just as hard as bitcoin in april?
1191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction Overdue on: November 28, 2013, 06:50:06 PM
Hi guys

We are way overdue a large swing and correction in bitcoin.

All the warning signs are in place.

We could hit 400-600 soon.

EDIT: Maybe not 75% as originally posted, but certainly a 40% swing is possible.

My prediction.

China doesnt seem to care about your prediction.

I don't get it. Why are stamp and gox pulling in opposite directions?

Gox is being manipulated by Karpeles. He's probably right now in the back of a limousine eating sushi getting sucked off by a bunch of Japenese schoolgirls whilst creating all these fake buy orders bumping up the price.

Even, if you are right, why would Karpeles stop now, when gold parity (and associated media attention) is within hand´s reach?
1193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 28, 2013, 05:29:55 PM
The sell/buy battle on Bitstamp and Gox right now is just epic.

was there just a 1k coin buy on bitstamp at $1k?  Shocked

Yeah, it ate away half of new wall in a instant.

WoW, german radio (SWR3) bashing bitcoin:

- Not legitimate
- Not backed by anything
- Could be gone in a year
- Do not invest into Btc
- Keep your children away from it!!

To be honest, I am surprised bitcoin isnt bashed more in Germany. That country has obsession with regulations and outright bans.

Since before Bismarck, since before Frederick the Great. Maybe since Arminius. Those pesky Germans!

omg who gives a fuck about litecoin. this is a bitcoin forum, we need Adam up in here to stop these posts.

Well those LTC you don't give a fuck about gave me +20% btc in the last couple hours alone.

Good for you do you want a pat on the head? Can you go back to the troll box with this stuff?

Thank you. No.

LTC is just another way to make more BTC. You're just too stupid to see.

The outright disgust of some people toward anything LTC is interesting.  You'd think LTC raped their mother or drowned their kitten or something.

Or MAYBE there are still users, that are aware this is USD/BTC wall observer topic. Ltc has its fair share of space elsewhere on this forum. Now, sod off.
1199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the BTC/LTC price changing so much on: November 28, 2013, 05:04:36 AM
Well  Smiley it seems, that Max Kaiser was right all along. LTC will be soon worth 50 dollars. Congrats to its holders.
