281  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: June 06, 2017, 08:29:33 AM
We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?

Absolutely.

Bitcoin is a tool and quite useful one at that, capable to bypass many restrictions put on fiat currencies.

They definitely use bitcoins, because they use it to buy weapons in DEEP WEB and trade them in the underworld, which is how IS works.

No, no, no.

Islamic State couldnt care less about trading via deep web, thats for small fishes. They have huge military arsenal from iraqi army, they have oil wells and they recieve more petrodollars from gulf, arab states.

State at war requires far more money, than some underhanded bussiness on deep web, leave that to Albanians.
282  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Men and their weapons on: June 06, 2017, 08:14:52 AM
It's not surprising at all everything we do we must have a way to make it deadly,  we always looking for new ways to kill our fellow men all because we want to be feared.

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

- Robert A. Heinlein

I find it interesting how different cultures have very different designs of melee weapons. From scimitars from the Middle East, kukris from Nepal, medieval weapons such as morningstars, war hammers and flails, Japanese katanas, the list is exhaustive. Also many weapons were designed with specific warriors in mind - heavy, bludgeoning weapons for large, strong soldiers, and lighter, sharper weapons for the more nimble fighters.

Similar to modern weaponry, it seems that war has always been a catalyst for new and experimental technology. I'm sure that even in ancient times, the manufacturers of the best weapons would have been very well paid.

It's worth mentioning that ranged weapons, such as spears and longbows, would have been a significant technological advantage (both for hunting and war) when they were developed, and may have significantly changed history.

However, more recently the saying "the pen is mightier than the sword" is certainly becoming truer than ever. While originally the pen was literally writing and drawing propaganda, in these modern times the pen is a metaphor for the video camera. And its moving pictures can be spread within moments across the entire globe, edited to follow certain agendas and ideologies.

What's more, we are currently in an era where a computer and webcam have huge amounts of power and influence, I'd go so far as to say the keyboard may be the next evolution in handheld weaponry. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohmajJTcpNk

I dont think pen (or camera) makes good comparison. Men argued each other since dawn of time, tools of war were then employed where agreement failed. Just as camera is complementary to the word of mouth, assault rifle is complementary to the kukri or indeed hatchet.

Yes, research of historical weapons is as rewarding as study of religion systems. Both, reflected mindsets of the people, who used them.

Remarkably, men-at-arms - easpecially in Europe in middle East often took both sharp and bludgeoning weapons. As did weapons evolve, so did armor in evolution of combat. You cant cut through plate armor, but you might be able to crush it. Yet, unarmored opponent with sword will have far more reach, than your war hammer. - so you need armor too.

I used to love bitcoin and now i hate it. Its slow, transaction fees are over the roof and it seems there cant be any consensus of future development... Centralised Chinese based mining...Still hold it, but i am disappointed with BTC... very disappointed...

But you will stay for the same reason, that you have entered in the first place. Profit  Wink

Bitcoin is not God, it is vehicle of bussiness. In such cases corporatization is mark of effectiveness and indeed maturation of the technology.

Just my two cents.

I used to love bitcoin and now i hate it. Its slow, transaction fees are over the roof and it seems there cant be any consensus of future development... Centralised Chinese based mining...Still hold it, but i am disappointed with BTC... very disappointed...

The fact that scalability is low and minining can be cornered by cartels means Bitcoin has been destined to be nothing more than a rent seeking usury system for a LONG TIME NOW.

284  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN ❤️ ISIS vs The People on: June 06, 2017, 07:41:46 AM
The liberals are going to be the downfall of a lot of countries when they are given the chance to rule. They are willing to accept and embrace everything without thinking about the consequences.

Look at the countries such as Norway and Sweden, where this type of liberal socialism first emerged. These nations are in a terrible state right now. They are under immigrant invasion, and Sweden is currently having the highest rape rate in the world.

I think one of liberalism's main flaw was that, to a certain extent, it assumes that people are inherently good. That given certain so and so, people would do good. It's like they forgot what the human beast is capable.

Another is that they deluded themselves that differences don't matter, which is quite flawed. Like you said, no better place to look at it than the Nordic countries that accepted these immigrants. Anyone who deny this can just look up all the videos online on how these people despise the locals feeding them.

I think you are pointing out something important.

1. Liberalism, as a child of secular rationalism and reformated christianity is inherently dependant on capability of dialogue and mutual respect. Compromise. You cant make compromise with religious fanatic and you cannot discuss about dogmatic beliefs. Liberalism is completely toothless in this regard.

2. Cultural marxism, another western cancer relativizes different value systems to bring about equality. But value systems are not inherently equal and never have been. If Islamists (aswell as christians) have inherently far more children than liberal atheists, than either by force or democracy they will eventually crash the system, that gave them voice in the first place.

You can call it natural selection.
285  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist siege in the Philippines. on: June 06, 2017, 07:13:02 AM
I've been following this through facebook and twitter and it seems that isis really is behind the groups in marawi. A large amount of cash and checks were apparently retrieved from their camps and it's mind boggling how these terrorists acquire that amount of money. If they have that much backing, then ammunition and resources would keep on coming and it would be harder to finish these people off if this goes on longer

Where this extremist cancer took its hold, martial law and military presence is the only option. They are not just spreading terror right now. Like in middle East, they are brainwashing children to follow in their footsteps aswell.

Military force, that restores order must be able to be just but merciless when dealing with islamist collaborators.

I call back to United States movie, that tells soldiers how to behave in occupied Germany. "After all you are now in enemy territory."

England seem to forget that without the help of USA, They are completely helpless, they may start the war but i doubt they will have the power and weapons to end it with help, Even the USA needed help in Afghanistan.

Yes.. decades of cost cutting measures have left the British Armed Forces as a toothless organization incapable of waging a war against well equipped armies. Without the USAF, they will find it difficult.

And who exactly would start war with United Kingdom first? Ze Germans?

Much like North Korea or Unted States, UK has massive deterrent in form of sea and nuclear arsenal. So there are only two options for conflict.

1. Civil war.

2. Starting more wars on foreign soil.

I belive the second option is undesirable  Wink the former doesnt really call for a strong army, since its weapons would end up on both sides of th war. Like in Syria or Yugo.
287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Men and their weapons on: June 03, 2017, 01:04:28 PM
Swords and axes are good for the purpose of posing for photos, but in practical situations they are useless (especially if your enemy owns an assault rifle). Personally, I don't own a gun. But I would feel more secure and safe, if I could get hold of one of them.

I started the thread mainly because of metaphysical aspects of these tools of death  Wink but, I am picking up the glove, Sithara.

Swords and axes are not merely used for posing on photos - they are still used today as they were used for thousands of years. As a sidearms. Because they work.

Ranged weapons were preferred even by our stone age ancestors for obvious benefit of staying out of harm. With spear being among the oldest known tools. Obviously, today (especially, if you live in United States and not restrictive socialist state like most of humanity) there are even more potent tools for death, guns, but that doesnt degrade meaning or usage of the former. It complements them.

Attacker with a knife can cross 5 metres (16 feet) in less than second, thats not enough for you to draw and point a gun, but perhaps enough to draw a knife of your own.

The era of hand held weapon is gone for defence as even the most backward nation of the world never arm its citizen or soldiers with this implement the reason for that is not far fetched. Our lives have been greatly regulated by governments and its agent. Aside that, even if I am an expert in handling this weapon, I still cannot carry based on the fact that they are mostly outlawed in most spheres of the society because how do I go to office with my suit on and still hold a knife or sword. They are used as symbol of authority and nothing else.

You make a good point. Swords didnt fall out of fashion, because everyone and their grandmother owned assault rifle. They fell out of fashion, because they stopped being socially acceptable. Matt Easton cites that as primary reason, why 19th century Americans and Englishmen started to wear bowie knives (which did fit under coats) and concealed sword canes.

288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: June 03, 2017, 12:46:15 PM
I am so glad, that I resisted urge to enter short position again this week.

So lower lows or out of question for now? Also, according to Elliot waves count, where should we be looking for next local top? Retest of all time high, than drive all the way to 4000 USD per bitcoin??

I might be getting well ahead of time, thank you for any insight, guys.

Afrikoin,

thanks, that is very helpful for reference. According to:

"Wave 5 usually ends inside the windows of 62% of 0-3 and equal to 0-3 added to wave 4."

That would give us about 2600 USD per bitcoin on Bitstamp, do I understand it correctly? And thank you again.

Hey there!

great call!

seems you got this right! or close enough ie $2750 on stamp

Could you show us how you worked it out?

What, if I told you, that for top guess I merely used elliot waves manual, that you kindly shared with us here?  Grin

I still believe, that we will hit 4000 USD per bitcoin this year or higher, but I am quite unsure about next two months. Recovery takes way too long and the volume is already drying up, which shouldnt be the case. Perhaps the consolidation will take much longer, than most people currently expect...
289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 03, 2017, 12:33:31 PM
153BTC wall on Bitstamp @2513

The sell wall's moved up to $2530. This could be the start of a good weekend bullstamp pump. Everything's flipped. Bearstamp's become bullstamp, and instead of weekend dips we are getting weekend pumps.

If everything is indeed flipped and we are getting weekend pumps, then it begs a question what will happen on mondays, which used to be bullish until now. Dont you agree?

Recovery takes forever and OKcoin lost 10% of its value this morning, I am not so sure, that we will see continuation of uptrend just yet. Maybe more consolidation into the summer?
290  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about terrorism?..I mean, will it ever end? on: June 01, 2017, 05:25:17 AM
Sithara, I think the best way to target wahabism (and in hindsight help Phillipines among many others) is to bleed Saudis dry. You nailed it, right here. Keep the price of oil low - which is possible now, thanks to fracking, russian arctic resources and lift on Iran oil embargo.

Keeping the price of oil around 50 dollars per barrel bleeds Saudi treasury, puts pressure on its domestic situation, thus they can use far less money on spreading of their vile ideology, that bring the worst of out muslims world wide.

http://www.businessinsider.com/can-saudi-arabia-survive-with-oil-below-60-2017-1

I don't think that the Americans will be interested in this method. A large part of the money earned in Saudi Arabia ends up in the United States. Also, for the Americans, Saudi Arabia is an ally, while Russia and Iran are the rivals. They are never going to lift the sanctions and embargoes on Russia and Iran.

Unfortunately, you are perhaps right. As long as local regime will be cooperative, United States will not turn against it completely. Last year Saudis sponsored Hillarys presidental bid by... 350 million US dollars, thank god it was for nothing in the end.

However, open hostility is not needed. As I showed in the article above - Saudi Arabia has no economy of its own except oil extraction and refinement. Keeping the price low enough could create enough domestic problems for their government and severely undermine its support for global jihad. All those preachers, mosques, bribes, fighters and weapons cost alot of money, that they might need to keep social unrest from happening. Shia minority is like wise presenting another problem for the theocracy.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ICO? on: June 01, 2017, 05:00:47 AM
What exactly is ICO? Can anyone develop ICO? What are the requirements for joining ICOs?

Its basically pyramid scheme. People, who call it share holding dont know what they are talking about - which is worrying since vast majority of alts, that emerged over the years were shitcoins and get rich quick schemes to begin with.

You offer ICOs to intial backers and insighters, they hold for several weeks following the launch, allowing the price of shitcoin to skyrocket in short term. The founder and insighters then sell their shares crashing the shitcoin and leaving now worthless casino tokens to played fools and bag holders.

Its been done for nearly decade now and will be done again in future, people never seem to learn.

Can totally agree. Waste of resources, but a non partisan should head the investigation. Like the explanation for firing Comey, it actually will restore confidence in the agency, and make people feel the investigation was valid.

But, it's a waste of time. As I said before, I don't think he had the emails period. I put this in the same place as PizzaGate, but I'm not stupid, you don't get robbed in DC with your wallet intact. You also don't get robbed in DC without being on someone's traffic/surveillance camera. It's DC. Its literally on par with Britain as far a surveillance, it's the freaking capital.

He didn't have the leaks. That investigator dude and KimDot recanting sealed that for me. But something fishy did indeed happen, and the alternative is a letter agency killed him, for what I don't know. I don't think it was Russia related for one reason; the FBI investigation was underway, this specifically would have protected him from going missing/dead. They would have had an eye on him, they don't roll that way anymore (killing folks). But if a letter agency assassinated him, this is a done deal. This will never see the light of day.

As others have said. There are worse things than having an eccentric self made man for a president, my friend. Much worse.

For example you could end up with media favoured war criminal  Wink here posing with father of Manchesters suicide bombers...

Having such persona in the most powerful office in the country couldnt lead to anything good, for you or rest of the world. So, yeah, I am glad that american public - despite year long hateful campaign by plutocracy decided for the Trump. He might be an idiot, but he is not whore of Babylon.

http://www.interaksyon.com/8-of-33-slain-terrorists-are-foreigners-others-mostly-from-western-mindanao/

Which supports the notion, that local muslims are only used as resources in global jihad. The epicenter of terror in Philipines is not on any of local islands. But in petrodollars of Saudi Arabia, that has been backing ISIS since its inception.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/hillary-clinton-wikileaks-email-isis-saudi-arabia-qatar-us-allies-funding-barack-obama-knew-all-a7362071.html

They are not ISIS they are just attention seeker they want to get the attention of international group called "ISIS" to have fund to their activities they are the Maute groups the one who plant a bomb on night market davao hoping that after the declaration president duterte will force all his trops to kills those animals who killed 9 christians already.

Participating and grieving for the families who get the disaster, why there are still affected by things that hurt others, we know that any religion does not teach like that.
Grieving for families who get calamities.

We really cant tell. You know that they thinks very different from us that is merely the reason why they do things that is uncertain for us. The only thing that we could do right now is to pray for everyones safety

Praying is good, international blockade of sponsors of ISIS supporters is even better. If United States are too corrupt to sanction Saudi Arabia for state sponsored terorrism, than Phillipinos need to do it themselves. Foreign fighters spreading fear on archipelago are not funded by locals...

So are you saying, that only thing holding subsaharan Africa back from becoming superpower is CIA? Is that correct?

No. I am not saying that. I am just saying that if the western nations such as the United States and the corporations from these countries stay out of the third world, then the world will be a much better place for the humans to live.

"Better" is subjective, yet quite possible in material aswell as cultural terms. Sure.

To do that however, we do not have to battle local corruption as that is inherent part of human nature - and only indidual men and countries can deal with it. If we want to help third world, we ought to abolish globalization, otherwise this cycle of strong using the weak will never end.

Would you stay out of bussiness of your neighbour even if he was doing something selfdestructive? You should, because its precisely human rights agenda, which is used by western governments and corporations to meddle in internal affairs of foreign countries.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2017, 04:03:57 AM
A new ATH this month is maybe to much to expect (but I wouldnt be surprised at all). Thinking long term it would be better is this month would be just a consolidation of around $2500.

Yes, we need to have another retest of ATH, unless it breaks out decisively we are looking at couple more weeks of consolidation. However, even then I more positive then ever, that we are not going to see sub-1500 anytime soon. This bull trend is incredibly strong and once we retest lows one more time, we can resume the growth.

We could eventually even reach 5k USD/per bitcoin this year, who knows?

It is quite possible that the testing of the lows are done.

Even though there are attempts to keep the price down and even get below $2k, we keep trickling back up... up and up and up.

Might not be another down test until somewhere between $4k and $6k?

Perhaps you are right  Grin however, winter... weekend is coming. And we all know what happens during weekends... unless, some great info emerges, that would break back of bear whales.

I also find it very bullish, that predictions about resolution of bitcoin withdrawals in China proved to be correct. Before PBOC intervention, China was the market leader pushing the price up and being ahead of west by 5% on average. We should see that now again.

This summer will be quite eventful.
296  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dozens of police failed to pay prostitute for sex. City will pick up tab. on: June 01, 2017, 03:53:17 AM
Oakland will pay $989,000, of which $973,000 will go to her lawyer, and she will receive $16,000, which works out to $20 per blowjob and $40 per normal sex act.

I couldn't find that part. Without it the story sounds less like an Aesop Fable and more like a stereotypical Hollywood movie with a happy ending. Good for her I guess. Couldn't find in the article whether these cops were fired, but this million should be paid by them, not the city.

This is ridiculous. Just 2% to the victim, and 98% for the blood thirsty lawyer? This incident proves that the United States is being run by various cartels, including those from the judiciary, banks, pharma and firearms.

Yet its people still have on average one of the highest living standarts on the planet.

Tells you alot.

I have no idea how to quantify the role of corruption in wealth of country, but there are obviously other factors in play. Youd have to try really hard to justify, that US is rich but corrupt, yet countries such as Nigeria or Uruguay are poor... and also corrupt.

People, who misuse public funds and  their office are found around the planet.
297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about terrorism?..I mean, will it ever end? on: June 01, 2017, 03:42:04 AM
The reason why it's hard to stop ISIS is because they aren't single military force, of course they can bomb their headquarters but that won't get them anywhere. What I mean by that is you can see the suicide bombers and stuff, let's put it like this, there is at least one suicide bomber in 10.000 people(for example), therefore it's really hard to track them down or get rid of them all at the same time, hence why ISIS can't disappear overnight, and they need them for oil too so yeah.

In order to destroy the ISIS, you need to target the ideology behind it. Assassinating their leaders or capturing territory from their hands is not going to help much in the long term. It is the Wahhabi ideology, which is causing trouble around the world.

Or even more specifically its sponsors  Wink wahabism is state ideology of western aligned Saudi Arabia and also Quatar. Ideology in itself is not important as long as it doesnt have group of preachers backed by multi-billion dollar worth of donations. Saudi Arabia has both.

Yet, for worse countries such as United States and Israel can use Saudi air space on their leisure, while Iran is labelled as the bad guy of the region.

Sithara, I think the best way to target wahabism (and in hindsight help Phillipines among many others) is to bleed Saudis dry. You nailed it, right here. Keep the price of oil low - which is possible now, thanks to fracking, russian arctic resources and lift on Iran oil embargo.

Which country is the most dangerous with regards to animals
I think each country will have its own characteristics, each region, not everyone. Like a country, there are areas where they love animals, but there are specialized areas where animals are killed. The slaughterhouse is the wildest and most dangerous place for animals.
Very strange statements about the fact that there is a country where animals are killed. It seems that these words were written by a vegetarian. If we take for example our village, then in every household animals are killed, beginning with the chicken completing pigs and cows for meat.
I'm not a vegetarian, but I do not understand people who can year to feed the animal, see how it grows and rejoices in the meeting with you, and then kill and eat. This is for me an example of inhumanity and cannot be justified in any way. May be terrorism begins with the justification of killing animals,

Matuson? I dont even care what kind of secular ideology did you sell your soul for.

If you do not understand how generations of your ancestors kept themselves and their children alive, then it means its evil? Because you dont understand laws of nature, then they must be evil, right? Indeed eating factory made, killed and processed animals is far more "moral", than taking care of them yourself in nature.

Terrorism by definition is furthering of political agenda by violence. Feeding your family is not political agenda! Pull your head out of your ass, you privileged moron.

300  Other / Politics & Society / Re: purpose of life on: June 01, 2017, 02:54:33 AM
Ah, the eternal dilemma of every good atheist...

How do I fill up me finite and ultimately meaningless existence on this planet before I become manure for some agricultural project?

The purpose of life, at it's most basic level, is reproduction.

It's been that way for hundreds of millions of years.  Primitive creatures had no idea of religion, or commerce, or society.

And your point is? Nowadays, reproduction is matter of choice (as is religion that backs these laws of nature). Welfare state and high taxation took practicality out of starting family, while abortion pills took away responsiblity for choice of sexual partner.

Yes, you can indeed choose to follow a creed. In fact you have to, if you have higher ambitions, than to live a life of an ape. Secular society is unable to provide you with incentives.

The individual constituents are meaningless. This is the way of things, biology cannot be denied despite what man would do to undermine nature. Remember I said we fail, according to my Bible at least. The world ends because we reach the pinnacle of our wickedness, not the heights of our potential. While we have some brevity with the matter (free will, the Lord will never deny you this), the call is undeniable. We fuck. Man, we fuck. And while we do, we move the genome forward, though better epigenetic expressions and selection for genes that adapt us better to our environment. No agenda or policy can stop.this, save genocide.

But I will concede to you, as a Black man, genocide wears some clever disguises nowadays Wink

We are not in disagreement at all, sir.

Chesterton rightfully said, that when man chooses to not believe in a God, he doesnt become sceptic all of sudden, rather, he starts to be willing to believe in absolutely anything. No young man or woman should enter adulthood with "what does my life even mean?" question.

Thats big part of why I respect bible - it reflects laws of nature and explains how Man has a firm place in it. The teaching is like a brick wall against cancerous and suicidal mix of nihilism and marxism, that infected so many people in the west.
