They are simply playing the two at the middle. They like neither , they also can't let one overpower the other. It's exactly the same balancing act the U.S is doing.

And ultimately self-defeating, in the same way Israel effectively created Hizballah, which in turn eventually overran all of Lebanon. You cant play two parties against each other forever. Eventually one faction gains upper hand (I am betting on Kurds here) fully aware, that you were just using them as tool.

they did nothing wrong. they only walked through the city and get arrested.  Roll Eyes

iam glad that i live in a relative free countrie.

Since when does publicity stunt and ignoring police warnings considers "only walking through city"? Do you live in Somalia? AFAIK they would be arrested in any semi-functioning country.

I am interested in this MSC_DE guy, he has to be paid for all that "hate China" spam on these boards, it is far more time consuming, than you would believe.
883  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is there such an insurgence of flat-earthers in 2015? on: July 25, 2015, 10:30:41 AM
I think some people have way to much spare time on their hands for their own good.

Its funny, when you think how deluded these people are.

So how does the internet work, huh? Since the Earth is flat, the satellite network cannot exist, there is no signal broadcast and no internet!

The internet is carried over fiber optic cables not bounced off the ionosphere with microwaves (satellite).

Where does internet in your mobile phone fit in? Or navigation in your automobile?

Denying Earths roundness isnt just sign of "creative thinking" but virtual denial of everything we have learned on the field of physics in the past two centuries, putting you on the same footing as those Saudi immams, who said on record, that ovulation is responsible for earthquakes or that (flat?) Earth is being orbited by (round) Sun.

Situation on the ground is rather confusing, now. It is public secret, that Republic of Turkey supports ISIS, yet there was a firefight between the two, post suicide bombing in turkish border town.

Would love to be fruit fly sitting on the wall of Erdogans office, just listening in...

Thats why I mentioned "syndrom of small nation" too  Wink religion and assumed national identity are really two most significant differences between Pole and Russian. Genetically (and culturally considering pre-christian times), they are very, very close.

See for yourself.

Bryant,

actually along with Belarussians, Poles are genetically practically identical to Russians. Their irrational behavior can be easily explained by their catholic bias aswell as complex of "great nation" confined to "small country" (fault of Russians of course). I do not approve of Polands actions (which has been destabilizing to european peace in the past century), but I do understand their agenda.

Meanwhile, Europe gets swamped by more selfinflicted debts and refugees...

Have to love stats coming out of Russia about loving a dictator,North Korea will follow suit now.

Putin has a real problem on his hands and I can not wait to see how he deals with it. He has so far been a pretty good strategist, have to admit the Russian mind is different. They play poker and chess differently.
So he has very little friends or some one he can trust to take over for him and not take away all the money he has built up. Honestly he could end up dead if the wrong people got into power,he has way to much money to be ignored. They estimate his billions and they figure he could be in the high billions.

Research was published by Levada center, which is based in the USA, not Russia. As you are not being able to get even this fact (mentioned in OP) straight, I doubt rest of your post is relevant to topic at hand.
889  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The road to the End of Religion: How sex will kill God on: July 14, 2015, 07:13:21 AM
instead of the bible you hold up books filled with your ideology and claim it is science.
If you pay close attention you may notice that the authors of Sex at Dawn and most of my other books have PHDs, and the books come with extensive works cited sections at the end. What kind of degrees did the authors of the bible have, incest and slavery degrees perhaps?

Just remember. The world has been around quite a long time. And History shows us that many nations and governments tried to get rid of religion over the last 4,000 years
Internet blew up around 1995, so of those 4,000 years only the most recent 20 are relevant to the cultural-social-political situation today.

I'm sure it would've been easy to dismiss the death of Feudalism just five years after the invention of the Printing Press. Less so 25 years after, far less so 50 years after.

Take a look at 1996 onward in the chart below, notice the shifting of the pattern?

TLDR Theism is a dead idea walking.

I wonder what 1.6 billion (projected to be 3 billion by 2050) of muslims world wide thinks about this "idea" of yours. Meanwhile amish population in the US increased from 3000 in 1900 to 300 000 currently, virtually only through procreation. You see, these religious whackos, unlike you, actually have children, so they dont even have to argue you. They will just breed you out of gene pool, like they did in ancient Persia and Roman Empire.
890  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sanders: 'We Have Got to Apologize for Slavery' on: July 14, 2015, 06:21:10 AM
Presidential hopeful Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) has made the proclamation that “as a nation, we have got to apologize for slavery.”

During an interview with Joe Madison on Sirius XM’s “The Black Eagle,” Madison asked Sanders, “If elected President of the United States, would you apologize for slavery?”

Sanders replied, “You know, obviously, nobody in this generation is involved in slavery. But as a nation, slavery is one of the abominations that our country has experienced. There is no excuse. What can we say about it? It was horrific, it killed millions of people who never made it even across the ocean, and it destroyed just the lives of so many people.”

“So as a nation – and I don’t think as a president, but as a nation – we have got to apologize for slavery, of course,” he continued.

Madison then pressured Sanders to respond directly to whether he would apologize for slavery as president by asking, “So is that a yes or a no?”

Sanders said, “Well, it’s a… I mean… I’m not exactly sure what it means. As a nation, we have got to apologize for slavery, and of course, the president is the leader of the nation.”

Sanders’ statements on slavery come after a Fox News poll revealed the candidate is not popular among black Democrats. Only 5 percent of black Democrats stated they would like to see Sanders as the Democratic presidential nominee, compared to 68 percent for Hillary Clinton.

So now that everyone is riding the slavery bandwagon, who apologizes and who receives it? As wrong as slavery was, how many people would not be here today if it hadn't existed? If we apologize for slavery then those in this generation who benefited from it should publicly thank those who suffered in order for them to have the relatively cushy lives they curretly have. And if we apologize for having slaves, then shouldn't the people who sold them to us also apologize?

Benghazi? Old news.

IRS scandal? Old news.

Slavery? It's still alive and well and living in America, or at least one would think so.

Does Bernie Sanders exlude blacks from "american nation" or are blacks also supposed to apologize to themselves for slavery? Textbook populism of fighting past battles.

Oh, I just noticed Bernie is from jewish family. Makes sense.

I love how western based trolls, didnt even start to answer objections about source of finance for these "activists". Instead they keep patting each other on the shoulder for sharing "scandal" of authorities investigating some shadow organization on their home soil.
892  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA creates Fourth Reich to destroy Russia on: July 14, 2015, 06:13:10 AM
I am calling bullshit on this one  Wink even if some madman, like Soros might have planned for Ukraine to become "fourth Reich", fundamentals are absolutely different.

Ukraine is not independent state like Germany was. Ukrainian nationalism is not build around anti-semitism (quite the opposite) or building alternative NWO. It is purely reactionary in nature and fed from outside. If you count in demographic, economic and military factors, then you can liken todays Ukraine to interwar Romania, not Germany.

The Americans have been dreaming about destroying Russia for the last 90 years or so. They almost achieved their objective when they got that drunkard Yeltsin as the Russian president in 1992. But the plans went awry in 1999, when Putin replaced Yeltsin. Slowly and bit-by-bit, Putin rebuilt Russia from the scratch. And the Americans didn't realized that until quite recently.

Its not about America vs. Russia as I see it. Before Americas, there was Britain bashing heads with Russians ever since the latter started playing role in worlds politics. The conflict mirrors earlier ones, for example that between land based Sparta and naval Athens in first millenium BCE.

You are right about the outlook on the nineties, though.
893  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to insult a "progressive" on: July 14, 2015, 06:04:39 AM
That was interesting, I'm glad to know that by Pat's standards I'm not a progressive - I wasn't insulted. In fact, I agreed with a lot of his political comments, not so much that his POV would be found so offensive. I wonder if he may be giving himself a bit too much credit for being really "out there" in his conservative beliefs. Some of his claims seem abstract - not lacking structure, just claims that aren't discussed commonly, openly, on Fox news (can't include all media of course.) These abstract items aren't good tests for the insults because they aren't broad enough to epitomize the entire Progressive political ideology.

I did find a few things he said to be hypocritical in the sense that he claims they are traits of a Progressive, but Conservatives practice the same ridiculous behavior.

1) "Progressives will only hear what they want to hear" - not a symptom of political ideology, but rather a human trait that affects progressives and conservatives alike (along with every other category of human you can think of.) People that are unwilling to listen to an opposing perspective exist, political beliefs have nothing to do with it.

2) "[Progressives] have double standards" - Agreed, and Conservatives do too. Eg, A foundation conservative belief is less government, however they want legislation to protect the marriage between a man and a woman or to deny the marriage between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. Eg, Conservatives support business however they vehemently oppose looser immigration policies, which would allow cheaper labor to enter the country.

3) "Islam needs to be legislated out of all Western countries" - I don't agree with nor understand this claim. It doesn't align with Conservative values either, which would support open freedoms to practice any religion. I don't think most Conservatives believe this either so this claim would be something to insult both sides of the two party line.

Last, Pat should use the word Liberal rather than Progressive. Do Conservatives not want to make progress on shaping government to their ideals and standards? Of course they do, so by that rationale Conservatives are progressive...some times more, some times less...as "Progressives".

Good stuff, thanks for sharing, would love to know what you think about it, Wil.

You must be American. Politics dont work on two point axis progressive-conservative. The point of this video is among other things, that self called "progressives" these days resemble religious sect. In fact there is nothing liberal about them.

Webster definition: Liberal is of or constituting a political party associated with ideals of individual especially economic freedom, greater individual participation in government, and constitutional, political, and administrative reforms designed to secure these objectives.

In fact, being "conservative" doesnt exclude you from this sect, fact proven most visibly by Scandinavians, who these days are red and then even more red, no real political opposition exists in those countries (I am aware of Swedish democrats, but those are isolated pariahs).

In short being "progressive" in the west currently means being neomarxist. Supporting LGBT child adoptions on one hand and Sharia law in the streets on the other.

Neomarxist doesnt mean leftists, as ideology has nothing to do with working class and poor anymore. Only minorities and transnational capital interests are counted.

What if both sides can negate each others electronic weaponry or god forbid non-western faction has upper hand? Then what?

Already in Vietnam, US air force send in planes, that lacked cannons (air-to-air missile was the hot shit back then), boom mig-21 boom and cannons quickly returned.
895  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Calling for the U.S. government to cancel Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit t on: July 12, 2015, 01:38:55 PM
Can the petition be more specific about who those "human rights activists" were? From the experience, howling starts in USA only if some US State.Dep-funded NGO heads are starting to get "inconvenienced" in the countries they are paid to disrupt. In all other cases, human rights activists can just rot for all USA cares.

And by the amount of MSM attention, it looks like the cross-hairs and the attack angle has shifted a bit, targeting BRICS through China. Of maybe USA is just expanding the battle front.

Thats my suspicion aswell. All of sudden, quiet on the western front (Russia), now 84 (in country of 1.3 billion) "chinese activists" that received backing from US foreign department are the hot news.

I wonder how many black were shot in the back in the US during the same time...

US is using the NGOs in the same way as former euro powers were using jezuits. To form fifth column within prey/host country.

Statement of Congressman Smith on the Reported Detentions of Human Rights Lawyers in China

Washington, Jul 10 | Jeff Sagnip ((202) 225-3765)

As many as 20 human rights lawyers were reportedly detained today in a countrywide sweep by China’s security forces, including prominent rights defense attorneys such as Wang Yu, Li Heping, Wang Fan, Bao Zhuoxuan, and others. Congressman Chris Smith, Chair of the Global Human Rights Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China “condemned” the detentions saying they were part of an “increasingly muscular campaign to crush dissent [and] set an ugly tone for President Xi’s U.S. visit in September.”

Congressman Smith has met some of the lawyers detained and calls them “some of China’s brightest and bravest people…whose skills and energy should be embraced, not repressed.” Smith released the following statement:
“This looks like a coordinated, countrywide sweep of human rights lawyers and is another step in President Xi’s increasingly muscular campaign to crush dissent. I condemn the detentions in the strongest terms.  The lawyers detained are some of China’s brightest and bravest people, people I admire, whose skills and energy should be embraced, instead of repressed. The detentions come only two weeks after the end of the U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue and set an ugly tone for President Xi’s U.S. visit in September. We are facing a Chinese government that is more aggressive with its neighbors, more willing to plunder U.S. personal information in cyberspace, and quicker to suppress alternative voices within China than its predecessors.  It’s past time for a new U.S. strategic approach to China. President Xi wants a ‘new type’ of U.S.-China relationship, but that won’t happen if the price is acquiescence to repression.”

I wonder, when Chinese start to lecture United States on how to treat Guantanamo prisoners or Occupy Wallstreet protesters.

Onto the point, recent wave of "springs" that destabilized much eastern Europe and Arab world had roots within activist groups being financed by the west. I dont blame Chinese (or Russians or Iranians) for taking pre-emptive steps. If those "brightest" and "bravest" (in the words of Chris Smith) are on foreign payroll, then prison is the least they should be afraid of.

Warnerd (Gary Brecher),

had a while back nice article describing development (or rather politics behind it) of modern US weapon systems. Military brass seems to be its own greatest enemy.

I would also like to point out, that current generation russian jets - Su-37 for example, outclass dated f-16 in all regards.
898  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3 buy signals hit, next stop $375 ! on: July 05, 2015, 02:30:07 PM
Buying now at $262 would be devastating since we are clearly near a top. Better wait for the price to go down.

$375 Is not going to happen anytime soon.

Well, we dont have to be too pessimistic, we have made strong gains since 210-220 of the past months  Wink  I am not against consolidation, though. Better be late, than never.

900  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is a threat to this world? on: July 05, 2015, 09:52:58 AM
A civil war is ongoing in Ukraine, where Eastern Ukrainians are kicking the asses of the neo-Nazis from Western Ukraine. Russia is not officially involved in any of this.

It's not a civil war. Russian soldiers occupied Ukraine. There's enough evidence – do you think EU/US/Australia/Canada are introduced trade sanctions just for fun?

The U.S. had several wars without the support of the international community, but that doesn't justify the invasion of Crimnea. Family ties are not an excuse either. If Germany attacks Austria the same could be said.

I agree with you on the fact, that crimes of others dont justify criminal acts of yourself. I am also aware, that Russia started meddling in ukrainian affairs after U.S. backed putsch occured in Kiev last year.

Thing is, you have no moral high ground here. Since the end of Cold war US and its allies were destabilizing in some cases destroying entire countries, that western elites considered "evil" (for the time being). Remember, when Al-Qaida was still considered "evil" and not an ally against ISIS? Remember the same about "Kosovo liberation army"? I do. Westerners nowadays have attention span, that Orwell would be proud of.

Countries such as China, Iran and Russia really have no choice but play dirty too. They were on the shorter end of the stick so far and there really was no possibility for them to be accepted as partners and not vassals into New World Order... so they do the next most logical thing - attempt to create NWO of their own.
