821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 24, 2017, 03:38:20 PM
what exactly are the benefits of bigger exchanges? cryptox is really fine!

why is everyone just focusing on the exchanges? what about the upcoming features?

Well, volume sucks so there's a big ass spread. You think 15% difference between buys and sells is ideal? Also, their site sucks, they don't even show volume for last 24 hrs, but eyeballing orders looks like just a couple BTC worth.

Lets give it some time. Even politicans get one hundred days to prove themselves  Wink things you mentioned are technicalities that simply needs to be worked out. I remember, when Monero had total market cap of couple million with only Poloniex - buggy as hell at that time, trading it. This is pretty smooth next to it.
822  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the price of bitcoin will be in 2018 on: January 24, 2017, 03:24:57 PM
This really depends on the way cup and handle pattern, that we have at hand right now, is going to develop in the near future.

If it ultimately turns out to be a bear trap, we could make 1000 dollars a new bottom with bitcoin averaging two to three thousand dollars in 2018. If we break down, it is still not impossible, but recovery will almost surely take twelve months plus.

Just my two cents.
823  Economy / Goods / Re: I sell or auction a Document to grant a fourth part of my soul, the 25% on: January 24, 2017, 01:58:18 PM
This thread rules so hard, it makes teeth of lesser men fall out.

Are you guys here accepting crayons and toilet paper as payment for shares of soul? Remember, if you can afford, you might need it.

On a side note, I remember some high profile cases where women (and men) were auctioning off their virginity. Something I too see no value in whatsoever, but it can apparently turn quite profitable, not to mention media worthy, in certain countries.
824  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How many people exist today that fully understand the Bitcoin protocol? on: January 24, 2017, 01:51:04 PM
This is a tiny sample, but the under 250's edged it out on Twitter!

https://twitter.com/realmicroguy/status/822286827881164801

Sometimes when I read comments from various industry "experts" it makes me wonder how many people in the world truly understand the bitcoin protocol on an intimate level.

I mean fully know it inside and out. What do you think?

I think you should increase your questionnaire intervals a little more. I think it's between 7000 and 8000. Even the people working in IT sector do not know exactly. There are those who do not even hear the name bitcoin from those who have professional software development. A high level of technical knowledge is required to understand the protocol in real terms.

Thank you for your suggestion. I can't edit this poll now but will keep your feedback in mind.

I am actually quite shocked, that it could be as low as two hundred people. Especially considering that bitcoin always had better than average share of informative technology savvy participants. Many of its users are working in technology sector as programmers.

Could it be likely? Did Satoshi really build that insanely complex and incomprehensible network, that even majority of other people from the field couldnt grasp it?
825  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Survey for localbitcoins users and traders on: January 24, 2017, 01:39:12 PM
Just finished the survey.

In my opinion, single biggest thing aside from customer support and ease of use should be large, active and campaigning community.

It is precisely that, what differentiates mere tool from established and respected brand/franchise.

Wish you best of luck with your project, friend!
826  Economy / Lending / Re: Question for Lenders on: January 24, 2017, 07:25:55 AM
Lionidas,

it is far from precise, but waaay better than wild guesses and accusations that were here before. Perhaps some sort of community funding should be provided for the original developer, so he can continue his work?

That project can potentionally save alot of people money, time and effort.

This is dedicated thread to account pricer and staff member "Achow101" is the developer. He even goes as far detailing process that goes into estimating (take notice that it is still only estimation, not rock proof statement) account XY. Be sure to give him thumbs up (atleast), if you find value in his work. Credit where credit is due.

828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: January 23, 2017, 04:36:08 PM
Afrikoin,

do you think it is likely, that we will spent next several weeks in roughly triangular fashion before the market decides to either retest ATH or visit sub-700?

Past consolidation moves would argue for it. After partial recovery, there was alway "calm before storm" running from days to weeks at a time. Personally, I dont think consolidation will last till summer.

Thank you in advance.
829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are campaigs only the major source for earning BTC ? on: January 23, 2017, 04:29:09 PM
I think that it is the only major leading source from where we can actually earn bitcoin
but i am not sure about trading

Gambling is something to avoid , trading could definitely be profitable If you know what you are doing but before starting to earn , you will probably lose the time you start learning lessons about it. Basically , you can do whatever you do to earn fiat to earn BTC , offering services on the forums is probably the easiest thing to do at this point but require some skills (web/app development , design etc...)

Right. In any gambling scheme, odds are stacked firmly against user by the house. It just common sense, as the user is only source of income for gambling company. Not vice versa.

From purely pragmatic point of view, daytrading should be also discouraged as 80-85% daytraders ends up in loss. Chances that you or me are that special, yet "not insider" kind of snowlake are very low.

Campaigns are cool, especially considering, that a) You take zero risk to your own portfolio. b) Value of BTC goes up overtime. Another option is to provide some kind of service (translation, web programming etc.) and get paid in bitcoin. When active in campaigning you can make close to 1 BTC a year. Wont make you rich, but it is viable to having savings at your local bank.
830  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Trump Effect on: January 23, 2017, 02:30:28 PM
My thoughts exactly. Right now, the man is pretty much immune to "rumors" by mainstream media and celebrities. Unless he start dropping nukes on random countries all he has to deal with is random (but constant) noise by obsolete media elites and his own self-image.

I am actually quite curious, if he will go on with his program. All that hysteria between euro commies makes me think he is upon something.
831  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indonesia Flooded with ilegal worker from China on: January 23, 2017, 01:55:20 PM
This sounds really weird. Arent salaries in coastal China well above Indonesia? I dont mean to offend anybody, but why would any "nation" flood another one and be worse off in the end?

This is China in 2014: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/cd/China-_Nominal_GDP_per_capita_(USD).svg/450px-China-_Nominal_GDP_per_capita_(USD).svg.png

And this is Indonesia: http://www.indonesia-investments.com/news/todays-headlines/what-are-the-minimum-wages-in-indonesia-in-2015/item2633?

Of course, I welcome anyone to correct me on this issue. I am not expert.
832  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 22, 2017, 05:11:44 PM
CoinCidental,

triggered much?

Read the thread name then. "rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread Wink", how much Technical Analysis do you see ten or fifteen pages back? Not to mention quality, argumented out one. Ill wait.

Anyway, this topic was started by Rpietila and he seems content with the way it, after intial inflow of educated members, slowly sunk under all the fluff, back-patting and garbage, so I guess, alles is gut.

Keep walking folks. Nothing to be seen here.
833  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 22, 2017, 03:50:29 PM
What the hell does all this religious nonsense you guys are babbling about have to do with Bitcoin TA?  There must be many forums for fairy tales and bible studies.

You can go and see an actual quality technical analysis in this thread right after OP. Last six months? Not so much. Rather it all devolved into sectarian church meeting like you say. Would be so nice Rpietila actually took time and cleaned it up. Used to have fun coming here, learning something new.

By the way, OP was right on his macroprojections even though time frame was off. Both bitcoin and that "super-anynomous" altcoin made its holders decent enough cash last year.
834  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.1 btc loan ( collateral fj account and bitcointalk account) on: January 22, 2017, 03:09:55 PM
There is so much hate within this forum. The guy asked for a loan; he offered what he thought was good collateral. No one asked you guys to shit post his thread. To add, I believe OP has been very polite and respectful with his replies. And I know for sure every one of you with signatures on here is spammers as well. If you guys weren't paid to post for sure, you wouldn't even bother posting here. And for sure if your campaign required you to post somewhere, you would blindly post wherever that thread/section is.

I didn't see any real lender or truly interested person in the thread to replying here. Those lenders that have a legit thread offering loans or those lenders/persons that didn't need to spam for a signature campaign.

Have to agree. This part of forum is dedicated to lending and borrowing, yet what I see again and again are vitriolic bullies stomping on other users. This borrower is not a newb, disclosed his reasons and offered collateral. Yet, he is still treated like trash by local internet Polizei.

Only explanation is, that these people adding nothing are motivated by "pay-per-post".
835  Other / Archival / Re: I'm really leaving the U.S. for a 3rd world country because of politics on: January 22, 2017, 02:10:20 PM
Any updates on OP? Is he dead already or did he chicken out like majority of Hollywood celebrities "migrating" to Canada?

Holding my breath in anticipation.

Seriously, though, you autists need to grow a pair. Third world countries have politics too. If you cant handle it, try meds and turn off you tv for once.
836  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2017 is already here on: January 22, 2017, 12:48:19 PM
Why am I finding this just now? This year, I expect to fill in for passport, have a lot of good sex and start driving a bus.

Looking forward to it.

To the rest of you bunch. I wish you good health. As long you are up and running, everything else is either fine or can be paid for and be fine again.

Happy 2017, everybody.
837  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BITSANE.COM Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform Is Now Live on: January 22, 2017, 12:38:09 PM
Chinese are not going to flock to european exchange anytime soon. Yuan or not. Bitsane should focus on european, Russian and Turkish customers. No, really. Trading in Lira or Ruble is far more profitable, you are not going to out-chinese the chinese  Cheesy

Personally, Id love if deposit and withdrawal of cash was as easy and intuitive as possible.
838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump inauguration and Bitcoin price on: January 22, 2017, 12:01:14 PM
I believe the act of inauguration was priced in by the markets weeks before the happening itself. It shouldnt surprise anybony, that the price here or on DOW didnt move much.

On a side note, financial elites are backing new president, which should be seen as bullish. Only political elites are against him and those proven themselves to be incompetent as far economics go.

Lets see how it unfolds, I am on Trump boat in the exciting new sea of opportunities.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 22, 2017, 11:46:59 AM
Karpeles is history. Unless he somehow magically finds missing coins and unloads them on chinese sites, there is no, NO, reason to discuss the criminal here.

Lay it to the rest, people. He is as good as dead in bitcoin world.

Now, back to wall observing and speculating.
840  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: January 22, 2017, 11:44:26 AM
On a side note. Muslim women make awesome lovers. Heard something similar about christian freaks but never had opportunity. All that repressed sexuality makes for potentionally explosive experience.

As to (not)hating muslims. Is it really issue that needs to be discussed? If you are being looked down upon by bunch of religious, women beating freaks, you have all the right in the world to hate them back. Doesnt matter what -ism they adhere to.

Otherwise, I dont care what you believe in as long as you are not infringing upon rights of my community.
