3681  Economy / Speculation / Re: CFTC Regulating Bitcoin, Totally sell on this news guys. on: May 08, 2013, 03:37:35 AM
believe it or not, but this cftc thing is actually adding to bitcoin's legitemacy...  it may be hard to see at the moment...
3682  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC Avalon Batch #3 on: May 06, 2013, 04:37:01 AM
Litecoin miner here....Ive got a contact who offered to sell me his Batch 3 Avalon for 14,000USD.
I'm just looking at the long term risks of this. Bitcoin appears to be here to stay. Assuming that by the time Batch 3 hits, (probably August/September) the worst case scenario for me would be the difficultly can possibly quadruple from 10,076,293 to 40,000,000. At this rate, with a conservative price of $80USD/bitcoin it would take roughly 8 months to pay off. Thoughts? I realize this is all speculation, but how much are these things going for a the moment?

Wrong sub-forum for speculation
3683  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 06, 2013, 04:30:55 AM
What the f#%&? You all got warned and yet you still went ahead and ordered from them. What the hell is wrong with people?

Stop feeding the scammers!!

insanity...
3684  Economy / Auctions / Re: [2 days]: [100 direct ASICMINER shares] on: May 06, 2013, 03:48:40 AM
Please retract my bid. Used my coins elsewhere...

This is the auction subforum.  Retracting bids risks being labeled with a scammer tag unless the auctioner ok's it.
registered as of 4 day ago... go figure!!
3685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Avalon behind the recent price drops? on: May 06, 2013, 03:45:38 AM
Or Asicminer, the biggest miners out there but lovebaby nobody mentions because lot of people own their shares and don't want to ruin it's perfect image.

Those chips that are bringing their hashpower to 16TH, as well as many other expenses to run such operation are certainly not paid in btc Wink

They are about to take orders for USB Miners in batches of 300.  I setup a group buy here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195647.0
3686  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: May 06, 2013, 03:32:33 AM
Its not that all chips are working one after another and need the other chips.

They are organized in chains so you'd loose an entire chain of 10 or more Chips.
There are more reasons for smaller boards, but i don't want to go into details now.
Basically smaller boards are less risky and we don't want extra risks on such a time critical project!

I am curious about chip failure/destruction though. Is there an allotment of chips set aside for assembly mishaps?
There will be a 2 Year warranty on my Products, that covers Chip defects.
I reserved an amount of chips for this purpose.

So what I have to do now?
Waiting for Burnin`s website to order?

Yes just that.
It will open in about a week.
Can't wait!!!
3687  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 06, 2013, 03:23:59 AM
Avalon Asic Chips are about $7 to $8 a piece with 282mh/s and you make a USB/pcb and they you go, a usb mining chip.. need to find out
the costs to make this pcb to add in a chip, maybe in due time..

following it closely! Smiley
3688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner [Post if interested] on: May 06, 2013, 03:15:21 AM
Let's change it up. I'd be interested in this but non-assembled. In other words, customer solders everything accordingly. Lowers costs for distributor so they can pass some of those savings onto the customer.

bkk said he could do approx $20 for a kit and $30 assembled. although we still have to wait a bit for specifics. Just thought it would be a much better idea than asicminer's plan.
Putting an avalon chip on a USB stick for $20-$30 makes sense
3689  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 06, 2013, 02:39:53 AM
more erupter blades would be nice instead of a huge amount of USB Sticks.
Rest assured, they will make more blades and bring them online.
They will order the next batch of chips, sell some on a USB stick which will pay for the remaining chips to be made into blades and then they will bring the blades online.
Oh, and they may auction of a few dozen blades to cover some other costs...
Brilliant on their part from a business stand point! Smiley
3690  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 06, 2013, 02:06:53 AM
If anyone in the US is planning to do a group order, throw me a message. Have some investors who want to pick up a few of these for our farm (I run the farm, they pay for hardware and pull dividends, like a ghetto ASIC Miner Cheesy).

The USB stick miner is going to bring BitCoin to the masses, beyond the geeks and hardcore or occasional miners.  This will make it mainstream.

Make this THE toy to buy for Christmas!!!

Congrats on making history!

How good Christmas  present it would be if you stick it t the back of your pc and and let it mine? Where is the fun in that? Are you going to stare at it all day long and wait for blue led blinks?

At the end of the day it is a tool to mine and it always will be. It cant be used for anything else. It will only make to mainstream if its priced right ($40-$50) a pop. How many people from outside bitcoin community will be willing to pay over $200 for it? Well not many as I have already spoken to people about it and reaction is almost the same.. to expensive.
Wait a year and they will go for $40 ;-)

hopefully even lower than $40 for 300 MH/s

I think you missed the big picture and the importance of this technical milestone.
By Christmas I expect USB stick miners to be super cheap!  I also see them functioning as a Flash drive also.  You can combine both functionalities into 1.
When we give our nick-nacks to customers, I'd love to give out a flash drive with our marketing material AND a bitcoin miner. get this out to the masses, beyond techies and geeks.
3693  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 06, 2013, 01:48:23 AM

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195052.0
People are free to setup their own group buys.
3698  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] ASICMiner Block Erupter USB (in USA only). on: May 05, 2013, 05:38:53 PM
Will you ship to Australia? I can pay a bit extra for postage.
Sorry, my www.shipandinsure.com account is good for US shipments only.  I don't want to get involved with international shipments.
3699  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER Coinabul owes me the price of 5gr gold! on: May 05, 2013, 08:47:07 AM
Wow great to hear that! Was it domestic US?

Shipping time is a little long, but at least you got what you paid for.

if they could communicate more steps along the way and tell us where our order is with respect to the expected life cycle of the order, coinabul would skyrocket with satisfied customers...

That's a big IF, but I definetely agree with you.

was received via fedex. was shipped to me from california
3700  Bitcoin / Group buys / [closed] USA/Canada Buy #1 193/50] ASICMiner Erupter USB 2.03496 each @ 5 units on: May 05, 2013, 08:05:40 AM

2013-05-24: Group open to Canadian orders of 5+
2013-05-27: Today we got a nice surprise, the minimum order is now 50 instead of 300.  As a result, our group order will be placed in 12 hours.

    2013-06-01: 4th group buy here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=222960.0
2013-06-01: All shipments I send out require a signature.

The Universe/God LOVES irony/coincidences... look at this, click on the transaction id (above link) and see that the map flag is planted in Ukraine for relaying this transaction... Well, what are the odds of that?  Any statisticians here to calculate the odds?  I was born in Ukraine...

I have received the payment address for our group buy from friedcat/ASICMiner.

Folks, the payment will be sent to friedcat at 1:30 PM CST (Chicago) on 5/27/2013
    Timer removed. End time: 2013-05-27+13:30:59

    Pricing:
The minimum order size for the group buy is 300 units at 1.99 bitcoins each.

Shipping cost: $5.80 for Priority Mail Small Flat Rate box.  I will ship up to 5 USBs per 1 USPS shipping box. At the current exchange rate ($110 USD/BTC) the cost of shipping up to 5 USBs is .053 bitcoins.  I will not use anything else like a padded envelope and risk crushing of USBs while in transit.

Insurance cost is $2.40 for $1000 of declared value.  This adds .0218 btc at current exchange rate.

Handling and processing is .15 btc for up to 5 USBs

So this is about (5*1.99)+.053+.0218+.15 = 10.1748 BTC per 5 USB devices. which is BTC2.03496 per USB device when you buy 5.

Note: If you want to pickup your order in person, you may do so by appointment, after I finish shipping first, your cost is 1.99 btc per USB device under this option.

    Ordering:

If you still want to buy and are fine with the above pricing model, then you will have to participate by paying for your order upfront.

There is one common payment address: 1Gmop1ATPKytieiw6Zdn4vDAWPLKdfmYx5

    To buy:

pick the number of ASICMiner Block Erupter USBs to order: N where N is between 1 and 5 only
    send the total amount (C = (N * 1.99)+ 0.2248) to the given address
    post your order in the following format: <forum nick>; <N>; <C>; <sending address>
ensure the sending address is under your control, so you can sign with it in case of disputes

You can order in multiples of up to 5. Meaning: if you want to order say 6, you would place two orders: one for 5 units and another order for 1 unit.  to order 7, you would place 2 orders where N=5 and second order where N=2... and so on.

If there is enough demand to order an additional 300 batch, I'll do so (given they are available to order). Those not getting into the queue will get their coins returned (to the sending address).

    Shipment
The USB miners will be shipped to you within 1 day of me receiving them.

    Communication
I live in Chicago (CST time zone: UTC/GMT -5 hours) and have a day-job that allows me ample time to devote to this endeavor. I do sleep at night, so if I don't answer at night, please be patient.

    Cheers,
