I'm going to find out if we get to choose colors with our order...
Not that it really matters for mining, but perhaps those who ordered 5+ would like to have each color?

I'm Interested but I'm not foolish enough to send coins till I know the order will be placed.
The order will be placed as soon as we reach 300.  Would love to have your order be part of it!

I'm interested in 1.  What's the price of 1 with shipping?

I would like to know if i wanted to buy 200 of the 250 or so left would special pricing be given as i am looking into this for our mining farm

I'm committed to getting this order in, so Yes, special pricing:

BTC 1.99*200
+ $23K of insurance is $46 so 46/115= .4 BTC
+ ~$100 shipping (next day fedex this is approximate since I don't know the final weight) = .87 BTC
+ 1.99 BTC for my efforts (equal to 1 stick for me).

Fair?

So what would the total be?

401.26 btc for 200 sticks.

I've received payment for 5 items, but not yet sure who it's from... please PM me.

I am interested in this as well. At least one, maybe up to 5. I'll have to buy some BTC.

Question? After you order what is the time to ship? Are we looking at weeks or months to I get this in my grubby little hand?
I intend to get these out to people no longer than 1 day after I receive them.  I'm going to have everything ready as far as labels and boxes and packaging material and will be ready to ship immediately upon receipt from Avalon ASCIMiner.  For example, if the delivery gets here in the AM, I have till 7 PM to ship as many as I can that same day.  if the shipment gets here in the afternoon, I'll probably finish shipping the next day.  I will have help to repackage and ship out so this won't be a 1 man operation.

Great! You did say Avalon though?  My question was more about ASCIMiner, I didn't see what their projected ship date is? Do you happen to know?
typo. fixed.

I'm in the US and I'm interested in buying 20-25 units, but you are so far from the required 300 units.  It looks like none of the other buying groups have received new orders in a few days.
we will be up to 50-55 units with your order, with 245-250 to go.  we have time and momentum as orders like yours start to come in.  Besides, all else fails, you get your bitcoins back. no loss for you. Smiley shall I take your order then? Smiley
3674  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Juniper Networks Netscreen on: May 11, 2013, 01:53:07 PM
So i am new around here but have been working in IT for years. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use the Juniper Networks Firewalls and Routers to Mine seeing as they have ASIC chips in them? Has anyone tried it? Anyone with technical knowledge input would be great.

You can't, but your vision is good!!  I believe that as bitcoin becomes more and more mainstream, mining chips will be embedded into pretty much any electronic device that is connected to the internet.

I only have enough coin to buy a single unit, not a 5 batch (heh believe me, I'd love to grab 5 - 10 of these guys and spread them across a few powered hubs) so I won't waste your time unless this changes drastically.  Thanks for taking on the duties of being in charge of a group buy and this really is why I love (most,  Wink) of the BCT community.  I'm in Washington D.C. and while I do frequent Chicago 2x a year, my first trip was a couple months back and my 2nd isn't until October (otherwise I have a good friend that is a 3rd-year resident at Northwestern, works in the Cardiac Unit, and I'm sure he'd have no trouble popping out one of my kidneys, then we could work out the exchange rate in Bitcoin  Grin).
You're welcome to order 1 USB device using this formula: C = (N * 1.99)+ 0.2248) : 1*1.99+0.2248= BTC2.2148

there is another thread in mining speculation that says these will never pay for themselves and they are nothing more than a novelty item.  it is said these should not be considered by serious miners.
what is your payback estimation assuming Avalon ships 500,000+ chips in the next two months?
Here's one of the better analysis I've come across on the topic: http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2013/04/914-asic-earnings-23-april-2013.html
I highly recommend reading all of the posts on this blog, very informative.  making an assumption of 500,000 chips *282 MHs and going with it is kinda tough, cause nothing has ever happened AS ASSUMED with bitcoin and mining from what ive seen so far.  but current 72THs will get increased. the difficulty is projected to go up 90 times?  Im thinking GPUs are done in the next few months.  the faster one can switch to ASICs the better off one will be.  The longer the wait, the larger the missed opportunity is.  there's also a sub-forum for speculation here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0  where a lot of this info is discussed.

Difficulty will be increasing like you don't know.  Hope you understand how this mining will play out.

Thoughts?

the demise of GPU mining... same thing happened to CPU mining just recently... nice!!

I would totally pick up a few of these, if they hadn't priced them so high. I might pick up a few offhand in a few months to give to friends, but I can't justify it right now.
To pickup a few and use them to introduce others to mining is a good thing for bitcoin in the long run.  USB mining sticks will get it introduced to the mainstream user.  it is going to be a tipping point.
