Wilson still seem like favorite for that position imo,

Well he is good but Im not sure if he is going to do anything next fixtures against City. Seems like a stable decent choice for me alongside Haaland

The context from my point of view isn't about either player's effectiveness against Manchester City this weekend, but rather which of them would occupy the center forward position more this season, all things being equal, that is, if both players are duly fit and not out of form.

Im 2nd on the bottom, so much confidence from me especially after naming my team Im gonna win  Roll Eyes

It's just game week 1 mate, the player that'd end as the overall winner in the world ranking likely is currently out of the top 50% of the current ranking.

@icopress: the reason Salah does not have so many minutes during preseason is because Klopp likes to rotate the entire squad at half-time during friendlies.

Free tip: Don't buy Isak

I just realized he is most transferred player in, and he has already risen in price. But he is playing against City away next, arguably the toughest fixture in the whole season. This isn't the week to bring Newcastle players. Even if they had good fixture, Wilson is still there and he will take a lot of minutes from Isak. When they are both on pitch, Wilson is the central one and on penalties.

Too late, I already did Smiley

Isak is actually the number #1 starter for center forward ahead of Wilson now. Last season, it was reversed. Maybe Wilson will be sold next year in that case.

What says you about James Ward-Prowse?

I'm not too sure or convinced of Isak being Newcastle No. 1 choice center forward, Wilson still seem like favorite for that position imo, because Isak is just as good on the flank, meanwhile with Isak as center forward, Gordon playing on the left flank while Wilson is on the bench is like down grade, compared to Isak on the flank and Wilson as CF, but should Wilson be sold by Newcastle, then by all means, no one comes close to Isak as the best player for the position.

On JWP, I hate to say this, but I'd probably never have Ward-Prowse in my team except If he had been value at 4.5m or 5m so, he'd be one of my bench choices, He doesn't offer way too much imo as a midfielder in FPL, just the set pieces and gets booked way too much as well, If he were to be classified as a defender then while not, I'll surely have him because there is also the potential clean sheet possibility added to my list of expectations from him.

The first week of the pool wasn't spectacular for me, but since we've barely just get underway, I feel no need to worry at all.

same here
I am not even looking at placement until round 10, it is just a start, and it is better to come up in second half, then being great at start, and slide down after that

with all said, harsh first round, but Valencia win is enough to make it count as good one, without looking at Superbru score

The last two matches of the round, were actually my saving grace for the round to be honest because, I got the same number of points (4.5) as I have done in the first 8 matches, as a matter of fact, I got just 1.5 points from the first 6 games.

I'm really looking forward to doing better going forward, I watch La Liga way too much to be this awful in the pool year in, year out.

Also you can find the details related to all the bets in the spreadsheet
You made too many side bets. If you are able to finish over all of us then you are going to stash a lot of BTC LOL. Good luck again, it's a long season, 37x10 matches left. Anything can happen.

Why Little Mouse - BitcoinGirl.Club sidebet filled with yellow orange? There are no way for Arsenal to win the title.

I really like the idea of a spreadsheet, but I think would it be better to perhaps have a thread specifically for this in the gambling discussion ?

I mean it would have to put a lot of work on who is updating the spreadsheet, because there are still weekly and soon maybe monthly sidebets going on other threads like the BSFL, so it'd would be easier to have two players post the details of their sidebet and it's will very open too, I don't know if it's going to be an allowed thread as per the forum rules in the gambling section.

Hey guys,

Free Bets for 0.5 mBTC have been credited to your Sportsbet accounts.
@el che since you were late to join, your Free Bet will be credited next week.
Good Luck!

Thanks!

I got mine for all the Sportsbet sponsored pools, and you best believe that I did put them into good use this time around, on some Cincinnati open Tennis fixtures, at least unlike the last ATP Masters 1000 in Toronto where it was a complete bloodbath after all seeded players just kept getting bullied by unranked/unseeded players.

[...] what are the chances of Klopp subbing Salah a bit more often in the upcoming matches, or perhaps have him start from the bench ?
In fact, Salah in the last 6 games left the field much earlier than we would like. However, I chose him because I could not resist such performance .... in each of the last 13 matches he scored a goal or an assist. But I will definitely get rid of him if I give him the captain's armband in the next match and it will only bring me 6 points.  I remember the last two games against Bournemouth very well (when there were 9 goals scored but Salah had no points...).
Yeah but those are friendly games, I wouldn't read to much into them. I still think that Salah and Fernandez are only 2 top players that will play whole match, every match. And I am really worried about what he could de against Bournemouth since I don't have him.

I'm also very much anxious about not having him for Bournemouth, because that anger could be a fuel for him going into that next game, that's why I can't get my mind off it, and especially for fact that he would have been a very captain worthy option for GW2.

Klopp played down the whole issue, but I'm sure we all know that's just to keep the media away from prying too much into the team or player-coach relationship.

@all fpl participants who have KDB in their squad.
it is now certain and the belgian international and midfielder of manchester city will be out for several (3-4) months Undecided
in my case, i have already reacted and removed KDB from my squad and brought in a new player.
What new player? That is the real question here. This injury from De Bruyne will mean much more minutes for both Foden & Alvarez. Now I want both of them in my team but I am also super happy with my current team. So many excellent options this season, only problem we can't have them all. I think I would play with 10 midfielders if that was possible.

That makes two of us, I'm okay with my current squad too so I won't be jumping on Foden for any reasons just yet, they play Newcastle next that could and headache for City, my major concern is how Salah reacted to being subbed off, despite be literally missing in the game in the second half, Is Klopp the type of coach to let a player like Salah know that he's not untouchable ? Because majority of the reason why we all usually like Salah and Kane regardless of the fixture is that they get to play 90 minutes every single when fit, what are the chances of Klopp subbing Salah a bit more often in the upcoming matches, or perhaps have him start from the bench ?

After watching Manchester united defense last night I'm convinced that Onana will not last in my team.

Logically, Goalkeepers that faces the most shots on goal, which often leads to saves are the best to have, Because if you look at the amount of players that gets relegation probable keepers, and the difference between keeps that concedes the most clean don't often end up with most by goalkeepers, why do you think it's like that.

Ederson wasn't in the top 5 goalkeepers with the most points last season, despite Man City conceding the least amount of goals, joint with Nick Pope but had faced more shots and save than Ederson, with how awful Chelsea and below par Liverpool were last season, Allision had more points than De Gea that had at least 3 or was it 4 clean sheets more, while Raya who finished as the number 1 GK with most points last season had 11 clean sheets. Ederson finished as the no. 10th GK with most points at the end of the season despite not conceding many goals, because if City keeps a clean sheet the most you're likely to get from Ederson is just 6 base points, because he doesn't get to make more than one or two shorts on target.

That's was why Kepa was the best choice for the second half of the season for nay player because of the number of saves he get to make, and if that comes with clean, you'd be sure that some bonus points would follow suit.

If Onana were to be 4.0-4.5m I'd be locked in on him already, because I'm sure he'll  make a lot of saves, due to the Man United defence, because why else would Thomas Kaminski of Luton despite conceding 4 goals still gets 3 points, but Jose Sa that conceded just one and get 2 points.

And the woeful performance continues for me this week too  Angry
You are not doing that bad, with few more wins you can climb back up and I think you can stay in Division 1, but you will have very strong competition this season.
I dont know what total number of rounds we have to play in this season, but I think there is still a lot of time and things can change a lot in few weeks.
I changed my tactics from doing a lot of research to spending much less time doing that and going with my gut feeling Smiley

Yeah man, It might not be as bad as I've exaggerated, and just a couple wins which I'm sure I'll grab at some point before the season is over could put me in the top 4-6, because It's only a 3 point difference between myself the 4th position placed by, I've just been overly undone by some very fine margin, at lot games I could have won just switches within the twinkle of an eye, and I was just unlucky in most those instances and had to settle for either a draw or even lose it, I mean it's like 6-7 consecutive rounds without a win.

What I hate is new regulations of additional time, something as we saw in World Cup. 10 added minutes in 1st half and 14 in 2nd half - 24 minutes in total. When big teams have such intensive calendar and then they have over 20 minutes added in each game, we shouldn't be surprised if number of injuries will increase.

I actually don't hate it because they are adding back the number of minutes that was wasted during the course of the game and discouraging time wasting for teams, if you're calling a 90 minutes games and due to VAR checks and number of stoppages as much as much 20 minutes get's waste then was the essence of calling it a 90 minutes game, the new rule is only trying to ensure that each teams actually plays for 90 minutes and not 60-70 when the remaining 20-30 minutes are being spent on the floor, or getting involved is scuffles and other dirty antics.

If not for the fact that it would do damage to a lot dynamics about football in general, I might even suggest instead of given those large minutes which are the amount minutes wasted, they should just implement a count down time like that of NBA matches, where the count would down begin from 90 minutes and stopped in times of VAR checks and potential injuries that brings the game to a halt.

Looks like I'm getting an off week after all, that is somewhat fair as I'd have all the time to set up my answers for 2-3 months in advances for a lot of pool, and I'll just need catch up to date whenever the week arrives and I need to have some change of mind about certain matches.

I prefer to bet on things of which I have no control over whatsoever

On that, how about a $100 bet on any team of your choice, going H2H against Man City for this season, I'd have Man City then pick a team of choice, it's not who finishes above this time around, as I understand the odds around that, but instead it's just the 2 games affair of home and away, and the better side wins the bet, and in a case of each team winning one game apiece, then the goal difference would be the deciding over both games would be the deciding factor, meanwhile the usual away goal rule will not be in play incase of a draw and that would mean parity. You in ? Just a quote would do here.

I'm just terrible and only joined in on this for fun  Grin

I won't say you're terrible at this, but I think it's more of you actually having a handful of more important stuff to do and you'd on a scale of 9/10 stop making team  changes or even at that forget that you have a football team to manage  Grin with the right dedication of time, so due to the types of bet and calls you make shows that it's not rocket science to figure out you'd likely be a pro at this, if only you have enough time at hand to spare towards it.

I read on reddit that James Maddison plays in FPL... The funny thing is that he owns Richarlison.

While R. James decided to give up possession of Chelsea players.  Grin

It is really awkward for James to play three Liverpool attacks against Chelsea. No way am I believing R. James owns this squad.  There is no way James would pick 11 players without adding any of his teammates. Nice try, Icopress, but I'm not convinced.

It's actually not awkward from my own point of view because we can all agree that he'll not be as heavily invested as we would be week in, week out, so let's just say just like Hhampuz he's picked like his team for the entire season and would likely not be making changes every other week like we all likely would, so if that's the case then his squad as actually a very decent one to be be completely honest, and speaking of his team mates, he knows none of them have their place in the new squad guaranteed just yet come rain, come shine.

I'll take anyone up on a sidebet that Gvardiol will start more games this season than Stones will.

That's a no brainer in my opinion, Gvardiol, if fit will surely be an important part to Guardiola's squad this season, I'm very sure about that.

@CLS63 please can you add these side bets between I, trofo and Harkorede https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406159.msg62622150#msg62622150

I have added it to the spreadsheet but I couldn't be sure exactly. I would be glad if you can check it again if it is correct.

Correction

Igebotz x Harkorede: Who will finish higher in the FPL Pool not the EPL Pool. Others are correct. Thanks

Thanks CLS63, I usually use a mini feedback as means of remembering my side bets, but it's going to be much easier to follow them now, but damn, that's a whole lot sidebets you all have got there for real.

-------------------------

It's not a terrible way for me to start up the new season, but I just wish Gabriel and Gvardiol had started the game for their respective clubs, I'm now thinking for week 2 and week 3 already, it's gotta be a really consistent analysis and good decision making for me this year, and there is no relenting for me this year, I would say.

Does Vice Captain make any difference to points? I had mine on the goalkeeper as well, didn't think it mattered lol.

No, it doesn't make any difference, its only usage is should incase your selected captain misses out entirely on a game and I mean not playing a single second in the match, the Captaincy chip goes to the Vice directly without have to do anything. Just look at it as an automatic Captain backup plan.

And down goes Alcaraz, SMH.

You beat me to it this post!

It's really crazy out there in Canada!

Jannik Sinner is the only player left from the top 10 seeded players that participated in this tournament, he probably could have lost too, If Andy Murray was fit enough to play the game, now this might be a very big chance Sinner as he's clearly the biggest favorite to win this ATP, but I'm expecting a very though match from Gael Monfils, hopefully yet another here, that'd be spectacular  Wink

Wtf is happening in Toronto? almost all the seeded players have been eliminated before the semi finals, and a host of them didn't get even past the first or second round, while most never made it to the quarter finals at all, the latest person to be added to that list is Daniil Medvedev, who lost to Alex De Minaur in straight sets, in a game where Medvedev had 5-2 lead in the first set only for De Minaur to come roaring back to force a tiebreak, just like he did against Fritz where he was trailing 5-1, and one set point, only to fight back and win that set as well, but it was a completely different against Medvedev today because even after forcing a tiebreak he went behind 5-1 again, but he just never gives up and outlasted the 2nd seeded player.

If anyone should make the final, looking at their resilience and fighting spirit, I think it should be this guy! Meanwhile another player that have caught my attention in Toronto too is Davidovich Fokina, he's also been such a joy to watch and have knocked out a couple of seeded players himself including Zverev and Casper Ruud.

It's really just been an extremely high level of upset matches we've had all through this tournament to say the least.

Come on Kane you already fucked me, i choose him and not Haaland, i change him before the start of the match, but come on, i dont wanna change my whole team to make Haaland fit, so this week i dont put Haaland, and you see....2 goals for Haaland and a lot of game to go.

Man, I don't know what to say but it's as though you just didn't follow the no. 1 rule for FPL for this season, Haaland cost a fortune, but he's got to be the first pick for almost every manager, then you get to work your way around the remaining budget, even if Kane wasn't transfer bound to Bayern Munich, he wasn't on any of my drafts yet, I would have waited a few weeks before bringing him in, if it's worth it, and I would have thought him as a must have against Brentford as a team, I'd rather have settled for a better midfield at his expense in exchange for a 7-8m forward.

Haaland looking like a popular name in here both as a starting player and captain ..and I thought 14million was too much money for one player Roll Eyes anyway great investment as Haaland is already on the scoresheet, hope our golden boot Winner 🏆  keeps getting those goals Cool

Kdb could be substituted for Kovacic as his injury concerns could have reoccured...not good for Kevin's fans  Embarrassed

I lost points on KDB. It's definitely not a happy outcome. Considering I had multiple chances to opt for Bruno instead of him for GW1 and just left it. I had concerns that he might not start or be injured and it just got confirmed. I'm just  up and hopeful if Haaland can compensate for those potential points I've missed from KDB.

Edit: Another goal from Haaland.

QQ: Did anyone used the Triple captain chip on Haaland for GW1?

After going blank in the shield, I'm not sure a lot of persons, at least not anyone from the pool would Triple captain on Haaland just yet, but there will always be that one person on FPL general website that would have used the chip in this round.

I think it was very obvious that KDB was fit at all, and I never expected him to start this game all along, but Kovacic is about to a good player to have very soon, as soon as he start getting assists and bonus points in the absence of De Bruyne, might be a worthy bench to have for a fair price.

Halaand will always be the main and captain guy; remove him at your own risk. We no longer have to worry about Halaand and Kane captaincy issues.

Oh Stone not in the starting IX. Pep I'm familiar with your game. The only Manchester City player worth getting is Halaand; everyone else is a gamble.

Foden will definitely be a regular player for City this season not doubt about that, unless Man City are able to make those extra signings like Paqueta, and now that De Bruyne is out injured, there is no better time to get Foden in, he's been great at finding those open spaces in the Burnley setup, you would almost think that was Gundogan, and we also know how much of a good finisher Foden really is.
