641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: September 12, 2016, 09:31:01 PM
...
That's how fast investments regarding blockchain assets will have ROIs . I regret not having etherium but newer and much promising platforms I anticipated are well intact such as waves, stratis and upcoming wings.

At some point market will be overflooded with such blockchain solutions while coins like Nem will have REAL companies backups as they are wotking now.
Nem is not vocal on social media to much, and hyping how that will be better than x y z blockchain solution will be. Nem devs just more focus on real deals around a world (mostly Japan) than trying overhype coin to sell it with profits ASAP and move to next ICO.
Blockchain ICOs will over flood market soon and at some point many those new projects without real output will start looking like POW copy cat coins and end same way.
If you have to know when to stop, many of those projects will end like PnD. Same was with POW coins (who remember lucky, moon, bee, heavy coin now ?)

PS: Nem devs are doing that most devs skip - working with REAL companies.

Indeed. Anyway, has anybody some info/news about "real deals in Japan" (or anywhere else, of course) ? Anyway II - is Makoto still fully involved in NEM devs team ?

Yes, very much so Smiley

Who else getting 403 forbidden when trying to register on weaver?
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: September 10, 2016, 05:15:13 AM
Any idea when Dash will be out of the top 10? I believe their development team have lost focus and now cannot catch up with Monero. They also shifted their strategy and want to become a legitimate payment platform. But how can they compete with the giant bitcoin?

No Idea, but DASH has far more functionality than BTC.

The Instamine will always show its ugly head from time to time and will be a hard thing for DASH to ever permanently brush away.

I think that its flawed however to think that its an advantage to be based on BTC code and even incorporate their updates into their wallet.
The whole "compatibility" thing is just a way to attract those who are into Bitcoin to look at a "quality" altcoin perhaps?

Either way, any blockchain technology can be made mainstream and used as a payment processor etc.

Always better to think outside the square and use fresh code.

Because of the network effect, DASH has far less functionality than BTC.

One example of this is the difference in mixing times and efficacy.  BTC mixing is faster and more effective than Dash's, due to the much larger number of participating individuals.

Bitcoin has critical mass.  Dash does not.

Dash doesn't even have a legal opinion on whether or not Masternodes are illegal unregistered HYIP securites.

Dash is also afraid to put up a bug bounty.  Say what you will about ShadowCash, but at least they embraced the known best practice of rewarding people for looking at their code/crypto.

DashHoles don't want to know if their money-laundering HYIP is illegal.

DashHoles don't want to know if there are massive flaws in their code and roll-your-own crypto.

That is not "far more functionality."  That is just cargo cult bullshit.   Cheesy

Yes those are very good points you have made Smiley
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: September 09, 2016, 09:01:16 AM
The best coins to hold are "high quality" projects with solid devs.

Examples are:

NEM
Monero
NXT / Ardor
IOTA.

It remains to be seen with LISK, it may perform well in future, but waves seems to be a NXT based clone. Not much interest to me.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 09, 2016, 08:58:48 AM
I will miss the camel running relentlessly on the Silkcoin wallet. I hope you will put it somewhere (like a doodle, easter egg, whatever)
He has been such a loyal friend for so long Cheesy

By the way, waiting for the weaver to come.

+1 for the camel, and i wouldnt mind my logo i created live forever in some sort of easter egg in the wallet also Wink

647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: September 09, 2016, 08:52:32 AM
monero is the most private, block size is not an issue and blockchain pruning would work well for an anon currency anyway!

Only thing i dont like about monero is the transaction size, most of my mined stuff is worthless because of the micro payments made to me by the pool.

I would imagine the micro payments have nothing to do with monero, but simply the pool software/settings/payment policy.

Yeah but why should the small transactions cost so much to make?

My total of Monero in my wallet is almost worthless because the fees to consolidate the small payments into full coins is almost worth the monero itself.

Now with bitcoin, if i had tons of micro payments made to my wallet, i dont have to do that at all, my wallet sees it joined together.

Is the fee still too high with mixin=0?  You could sweep the dust together with that, then resend the combined total with a higher setting.

The issue is extra overhead costs incurred by the privacy provided by Cryptonote protocol's larger transaction footprint.

Moving Satoshis is relatively cheap and some miners consolidate dust to help the network.

Joining Tacoshis is harder because of the higher required fee relative to the size of the small inputs.

As its currently fairly unprunable UXTO set grows without bound, Monero cannot subsidize low/zero fee tx and must discourage on-chain micro-tx, until payment channels are available.

Perhaps some day we'll have an IntelliHashing Smart Wallet which will solo mine the blocks required to move around otherwise uneconomical amounts of XMR.   Cool

Yes with mixin 0 it was still high, about 80% of my monero is the fee.
Anyway, im pretty sure they will find a solution for those affected when the price skyrockets further.

I know there are others with far more monero than me that were affected.

I did not know (as did many pool operators) at the time, hence it took some a while to make larger payouts to miners instead of trickle amounts.

649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the darkcoin/dash instamine matters on: September 08, 2016, 11:58:11 PM
Biggest issue with DASH is the amount of DASH taken up in masternodes is over half the amount in circulation!

Great way to reduce supply and increase the price.

The instamine issue is always going to hang around also.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 07, 2016, 10:17:25 PM

FYI:

We have been harassed for more than 2 years in this thread. We have suffered all kind of threats by supremacists from other coins (mainly moroneans).

They did not work in the past and it does not work now.

They are barking, Sancho, that's a sign we are riding
Don Quijote de la Mancha

Actually from a neutral point of view from someone who holds neither Monero or DASH, i have also witnessed alot of scum who claim they are from the DASH / Darkcoin community heavily trolling the Monero Thread (and also XC) They managed to kill off XC, but Monero has still pulled through out of all of this.

Its pretty childish really all this trolling, if you think DASH is great, thats awesome, no need to rubbish the competition.
I just hope it can all end peacefully. There seems to be alot of tit for tat coming from both threads, but if we are grown men, it should be easy enough to just simply stop! Tongue

Total: 29038.84018872   DASH    sell orders

Total: 778.80196429       BTC      buy orders=43163.21360957 DASH

BUY orders allways double on thıs coın but the prıze goes down how and why ?

Easy, margin trading + market manipulation.

As many already know, this coin seems to get manipulated heavily...
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 07, 2016, 04:50:27 AM
maybe important to say not to buy from this wallet adres BJF39N8uqnhbj6SSQ7JDPQdnpLyfcNUi5R or related to it.

We are keeping track of all inputs related to the wallet in question with the Mintpal scam.

Currently the user has moved 1,000,000SILK from the original address.

Do not worry, we are on top of this and is not an issue.

Code:
6th of September at 2.30am (GMT) funds were moved from the 4,000,000 input at the root address:

956365.59136461 moved to B6sWVqMe5idMcHSPaxEKriqkNPPv2xKyrd

43634.40853539 moved to BSGepFbjNebhn6NRFQ5Lkk5sNMywL67DMt

then at 7.19am from B6sWVqMe5idMcHSPaxEKriqkNPPv2xKyrd:

903171.60805872 moved to BALy1L3cNUt9XdPqs1dtmWS55fetyzNo1k

53193.98320589 moved to BJSpc1X9GdkMVD5qg2Vhgvq5yrX94WyeEV

There is no way of hiding the transactions with Silkcoin, we are watching.

So the mintpal scammers are you referring to are the original devs who tried to sell their premine on mintpal?

Would be good if we can find a way to make sure their silk is useless to them since its a brand new launch ...

That's why they closed the bittrex wallet.  Bittrex cannot refuse to swap them due to their own terms, but weaver can.
The original dev team only moved 56k to trex, so it's not like they are going to be a huge issue.

Yes but we will have to watch their transactions to make sure they dont try and move the funds to other addresses.

Such scum do not deserve to make anything from their own greed.

The best time to accumulate XEM is now, when Panic sellers are currently selling below 1000 sats

As the release of Nano wallet and the Android/IOS wallet for XEM releases, the panic sellers will buy back at higher prices

Any XEM under 1000 is cheap...Price targets before Catapult is 2-3k

XEM is one of the best crypto-coins out there

is there a date to this release? i'm buying this dip because i trust xem but looking only by TA it's pretty bearish.

dont think they put a date on Catapult.  But I trust the devs are working hard.  It'll be done when it's done.

Dont expect much news until after it is finished, then hopefully they can focus more on business partnerships ...

I think we can confidently say that we can expect the nano wallet and mobile wallet to be released very soon, in the meantime, catapult is constantly being developed. We cant rush these things, but at least it gives us time to accumulate more XEM!

Meanwhile, the NEM marketing team is working in stealth mode behind the scenes in Japan, slowly building up partnerships... Cheesy

I dont get why so many people thinking that privacy allows criminal activity?

Why should people have their sensitive banking details made public?
e.g account balances, transactions etc?

Nothing to do with criminal activity at all.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 05, 2016, 08:37:35 AM
I wonder if team monero realise that now the currency is associated with the dark markets (which is by no means exclusive anyway), they have precluded the currency from mainstream adoption, which dash is aiming for. No one will touch a currency associated with the sale of guns, drugs and child pornography. I think when people realise this, the steam in monero's recent will run will all but disappear.

This is something dash will now not have to deal with  Grin

And you dont think that DASH cant be used for this either?
lol Remember that Bitcoin is the major player of darknets and some have already adopted DASh long before Monero!  Cheesy

I agree with you in that dash and bitcoin have been used for those things in the past - that's why I had the caveat in brackets; but dash isnt looking for adoption in dark markets. The point is that monero's rise is because it is aiming to be the preferred currency for markets that peddle guns, drugs and child pornography..

I wouldnt say that at all. They are striving to be the most private. naturally darknets like that idea....

Would be cool if they would add Nem to https://wirexapp.com/ (debit card to fiat and bitcoin)

Someone should ask them! Smiley

Looks legit, asked!

Someone from the NEM team competent enough should contact them.

Jabo38, are you able to contact them on the community's behalf?

Cheesy

Monero will certainly drop in just the same way as DASH is currently.

All these pumps are artificial, but you will see that we will see a new (higher) floor for these coins than before, what that price is will be anyones guess, but remember that its not all about making a quick buck, im sure alot will dump.

People just need to learn not to buy into a pump.
