Well ive just submitted about half my silk to the DRKSLK ICO.
How much SLK on average will i need to get 1000 DRKSLK?
With Silk at 25:1 per DarkSilk if the min cap of $0.25 is the final price, you would have to deposit 25000SLK per 1000DSLK returned. OK, so I should deposit another 100K of silk to be on the safe side? I only deposited 200K of silk. To ensure a single Stormnode, deposit 250000SLK in total. Ok sweet, so 250K silk will guarantee me a stormnode?

Lisk and waves have yet to prove anything. Although these have a better chance than many of the shitcoins out there.
Only issue is waves is basically built of NXT and nothing really new.
Lisk brings some things new to the table.
But people really need to do their research and think out of the square.
NEM can already do what waves claims to do, and can achieve what ethereum can with smart contracts, except its done in a more secure way off the blockchain itself, which was the main reason the DAO hack was so easy.
NEM also has achieved cross chain transactions, and has accomplished many other "firsts"
Would be stupid not to look at NEM further, there are too many projects to distract people, but we need things to settle down first with all the competition with the shitcoins which will ultimately die off a slow death...

Are there any plans to create a new Nem, similar to NXT an ARDOR?
No, there is no need for that Mosaics already can accomplish what ARDOR is supposed to do.

Im just going by bits i remember reading over the last 12 months.
then u spread outdated informations Well its the only information i could find. Anyway, he has been on interviews on youtube and has made public appearances in the past. Whatever his direction is, it doesnt really matter, main thing is we have a great team working on the project

is there anyone who step in makotos shoes? Is anyone doing his work, I guess having people actively supporting NEM in real world is msot important.
Makoto has never left, he is still very much active, maybe not so much as a dev, but he is still working on the development, but has concentrated more on the marketing side in Japan as far as im aware based on what u make this statement? i have a different feeling he not write at NEM slack / telegram he is involved on hyperledger development (blockchain projects that aims to be part in linux distributions) he run a own company without direct relation to NEM or any projects know from his company that will utilize NEM chain so nzminer whats ur source of information ur statement is based on? dont get me wrong is see many skilled and high motivated people working for NEM on coding and marketing and business relation stuff but i dont think makoto is at the moment one of them or he follow some longterm submarine tactics and return with big surprise whats a bit missing is "the face" someone who step in to be the primary "face" of the coin but i guess that will be the leader of NEM foundation once its formed Im just going by bits i remember reading over the last 12 months. I think somewhere I read that he was concentrating on marketing - something he never expected himself to do. I also remember reading that his focus had changed, but was still working on the project. IDK, its been a while, too many posts to scan through now, but he does post here occasionally from time to time.

Nem is so quiet lately. Any news about Mijin in action or porting from Java code to C++ for Nem platform?
They are still working on it. This is not an overnight job. It will be done when its ready

Dont know much about the format of the bitgirls reality TV show, but it sure looks interesting. Will be interesting to follow, at least its giving us some decent exposure, especially if the show is popular in Japan.

Well I think that Quantum proof algorithms can only be tested with quantum computers in the long run.
I dont think its currently possible to make any coin quantum proof unless its created by a quantum machine in the first place.
Forget bitcoin or other crypto.
The World will have far more issues to deal with against quantum attacks unless all the banks buy quantum computers etc...

Ive been reading through all my correspondence with Arteleis, since we first got in contact, and its almost 2 years to the date (11 October 2014) when Arteleis first mentioned the weaver concept to me! Below is his hand written drawing! Well I sure think he would be proud to see his vision come to life, its unbelievable to see where we now are more than 24 months on, we have been through a rough ride, but its absolutely incredible to see how resilient this community has been! Big thanks to Spencer and everyone in the Silk Network team who has made this all possible.

Not to mention the fact that the DSLK dev abandoned a perfectly good coin and community at Sterlingcoin. DSLK and SLK are going nowhere
Really? Sterlingcoin does not sound that great to me, and its not like other devs leave other projects to enable them to achieve their goals which sometimes get held back from others. One example is IOTA, jl777 left NXT to work on that project.

There is an ICO for Darksilk: https://silknetwork.org/darksilk/ico or icocountdown.com. There is a 37,7% return of investment (ROI) on using stormnodes. I would definately recommend! Its a one we can try but I do still not really trust it to be honest, there is a chance it will be successful but the time will lean us this for sure. Why don't you trust it? for one the whitepaper is totally just copy and paste... id ont see any innovation there.. they will copy syscoin decentralized marketplace but dont actually say how they will use it... im highly skeptical of it 37.7% ROI sounds like in-built hyperinflation too - I can foresee a massive devaluation on that coin - especially if it also has PoW (didn't check that), only Ponzi's usually offer those kind of rates. Sounds like a big risk to me. I'm not even going to look into it in more detail. IDK about the 37% ROI, but they do have ways to manage the price using two separate coins to keep it stable, so this could be an explanation, especially since its dirt cheap right now. Silk is a POS coin, while DRKSLK is POW. Either way, its better than DASH, no instamine and everyone is able to have a chance to get in unlike DASH. There are alot better advantages over DASH with DRKSLK too, particularly with its algorithm. I should also mention that ive been a big part of the silkcoin community since the days of the old devs abandoned the project, and we have come out stronger than ever. I think its a testimony to the good that can come out of a bad situation.

Yes i completley agree.
Its only a matter of time before people realise that smart contracts on the blockchain is a bad idea.
Ethereum cant afford to see another DAO style "hack" but its inevitable that it will happen again.
Their solution was only to hard fork the blockchain and dissolve the DAO funds back to all the investors.
Thats not a "solution" its only a cowardly way to walk away from the problem that is still there.
NEM has the answer, but too many investors who put all their $$$ into ETH dont want to think there is another way.
Sadly alot will learn the hard way.

Malaysian traffic to NEM.IO broke another record today and is at an all-time high. Malaysian community members are also registering a community organization in Cyberjaya and creating a hackathon contest. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CyberjayaOK, thats great to see. It seems that there is alot of activity in Malaysia, not to Mention Japan.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160111114717/http://coinmarketcap.com/just around 1st jan every year... So now be realists and take history lessons. I not FUD or something but pure facts. Coins with unique concept to rise can survive... Coins with community lives... ICO without marketing/buisnes plan or point of use DIEs slowly. Coins are appearing and dying slowly You can jump every thread there a look for long term BS... blabla Bugatti here or there. OK now painful part i hope devs will explain their plan behind super nodes. NEM devs have founding for 2 years and after 2 years we should utilize supernodes to some stuff ... Supernode is ONLY one price driving factor right now when funding will end price will ? Guys logic: 1) skyrocket 2) dump to 100sat ? To not bash NEM to keep supernodes at track we need to sell stuff at about 2-3BTC ~2000$ daily in services providing by supernode.but we need plan today in year coin will land at 100sat (bitgirls won't help us in that matter) while other coins will have asset exchanges , game platforms, developing platforms, digital warrez, decentralized youtube, decentralized blogs. Where we will be then what we will add to crypto currency. All NEM pump was about NEM integrating to banks... today i don't see any bank using buy/selling NEM so as investor i can feel disappointment We can not be blind like supernode will solve all ... we need know today how to use them and sell it with business. Decentalized web hosting... decentralized learnig... PS:I don't want to see here bitshares peercoin namecoin NXT scenario - good coins but no business plan What attracts me to NEM the most is currently we have solid partnerships, and this list continues to grow. We have a good business model and seeing these partnerships flourish through dragonfly and mijin is only the beginning. They mean serious busniess, and i see this as our path to success. I dont think its a bad idea that alot of resources are being spent locally on marketing in the Asian markets either, as this is alot easier to start off with one target demographic, before going global. Lots of companies start this way before expanding globally. Our advantage is that it will happen much faster when that time arrives

its some noob that got mix up between XRP and XCP. There is a link between XCP and XEM with the launch of bitgirls.
Yes that could be what it is
|

Somebody spoke about XEM/XRP partnership on Poloniex trollbox before a while. Does anybody knows something about it, or it was just a FUD/fake ?
I think thats total BS. I doubt any of our community would want any partnership with ripple, and im sure we would be the first to know from the official thread. Its possible the poster got confused with some other project perhaps? Im sure Jabo38 would be able to verify this.
