Posted this this morning but got no response, anyone? Any comment here on the suddenly high volume on BTCChina? During the last uptrend (450$-680$) BTCChina's volume was around 5k daily, while now during the last days down and the bounce, daily volume is around 30-35k. While bitstamps volume remained the same.
Some one here implied that coinbase was now buying from BTCChina instead of Bitstamp, maybe they made this switch to implement Litecoin soon? Don't forget litecoin's founder is working at Coinbase.

hitbtc has nearly same 24h volume like polo, 101k vs 96k usd. who is active trading there?
i dont know why, but i have inhibitions to go and trade there. Am i the only one?
Saw that on coinmarketcap to. At a first glance it looks very nice and you can even withdraw EUR/USD if you exchange your monero to btc. Unfortunately there's no direct XMR -> USD/EUR gate.

Could someone please make a thread for bounties and link it in the OP? It's too hard to find them. It is importantly useful to interest more developers in taking on bounties - and more patrons in offering them.
We've had the bounties discussion before (in this thread if I recall correctly) and decided against them. By and large it leads to extremely poor code being rushed out just to claim a bounty. More often than not we end up ruffling feathers of those writing good code, but not having it ready fast enough to "win" the bounty. And, most importantly, we are the ones that end up maintaining the poorly thought out code. As mentioned previously, we are putting together a system that will allow for more direct funding of specific efforts/features, but in the interim bounties are not going to attract the right type of developer. Contributors are attracted to the project because of the quality of the architecture we're continually designing and the quality of the code that is being written. Having bounties will only serve to negate that. I can attest to this, every time I have seen a bounty my first thoughts are "what is the bare minimum I could code to win such a bounty?", this is shortly followed by "I really don't have time to code crap when someone else out there probably is unemployed and able to beat me to the punch". This thought process concludes the fact that I have not entered into any bounties, however I can easily imagine the type of code being wrote to win one. Maybe it's better to set up bounties for promoting, translating etc.. than coding? I think monero would benefit more with that kind of bounties and to let the original dev's work on the code.

Seem like cloak coin is competiting with XMR on anon feature.
Do both use the same method and technology?
No they use different methods/technology. Maybe some one here can elaborate this better? I am not up to speed what's happening with cloak..

I would like to buy some Monero coins, but have not any idea how to do it. Did some googling, but didn't find any good help. If anyone could help! Thanks for any help!
Like GreekBitcoin said, you can find the exchanges in the OP of the monero thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0Personally I find poloniex the best option, but there are also other exchanges. If you are going to buy large quantities it would be wise to choose an exchange with much volume. Volumes can be seen here http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/24-hour/#xmr , scroll down if it doesn't go automaticaly to monero. As you can see poloniex has the greatest liquidity at the moment.

Litecoin going nuts holy shit, could it be the last pump before it crashes to the ground perhaps? Haha, probably just another bulltrap. Posted my thoughts on litecoin in anoter topic: Here is the one-week resolution chart of LTC vs CNY from the liquid OKCoin exchange. The rightmost green candle could be a long-awaited trend reversal for litecoin prices, given the relatively high volume . . . Personally I think LTC will keep falling untill BTC is really "bubbling", look at the last two bubbles and compare them with the ltc/btc ratio.. Probably this is just a bulltrap for LTC or maybe they will move sideways for a little while

soo....we continue ? risto was right, 394 was yesterdays peak, we did not manage to climb higher. Retreat to about 350/345 now with a lot of support at 350. anyway, a lot of action also happening outside xmr markets, maybe this will keep bigger players distracted for some time. the walls are still playing and moving as soon it gets serious There was a big ask wall also @ 0.0036 if I recall correctly, which is completely bought up now. So we can resume the uptrend i think part of it was eaten (4k by risto as he said). after that, the wall was removed. Looking at the 1 minute chart, there was 1 buy of 9632 monero @ 02:01 and 1 buy of 5000 monero @ 08:53 (both @ 0.0036). You can look it up yourself. I am in timezone GMT +1 (Amsterdam), so you have to adjust for you own timezone.

Like he said.

There is already over 9,000 XMR infront of the wall! Bids are building up nice. This is the true trend reversal we are seeing.
Wall is at 0.00384 now, rpietila how high do you think this run-up will go? Fundamentals are looking much better than the run-up to 0.01 and 0.0058.. @ Aminorex, which price do you think is sustainable? Looking at mining and inflation?

26k XMR buy wall @ 0.00358. Also the total ask dropped to 124k, which was around 200k in the recent downtrend I recall
The bids, asks and walls outside the current market (more than 10k xmr away) matter nothing. The recent buyer who bid the market up 10% and set a huge wall to defend the gains and buy more, is very meaningful. If the wall does not budge, it will probably never get filled. But it may be that a dumper feels this is the way to get rid of the coins at a good price, in which case it would get sold into, triggering a fall but solidifying the economy (stronger hands). Also, in a more insidious level, this might be an accumulator whose market idea is to give the market hope, then sell to his own wall in a repeating sequence while getting also others to sell and set up an avalanche back to the 3 area where he could buy more. But I think the market is too tapped out for that. The last volume to buy was when defending 334, and the dumper smashed us all. But see - we are already ahead!! The developments just now are difficult to interpret, but my call that bottom would be felt last Sunday is still in force. (Some may confirm that I laid out my prediction already a week in advance, but then it was not public yet.) Thanks for the insight! Wall seems to be real as there is being sold into, it's now @ 0.00361. Probably just a big XMR holder pushing up to price for his own good. Personally I don't think its an accumulator and that the market was oversold @ 0.0029. The seller already sold through 0.00334, but I think he ran out of coins @ 0.0029 and there were no other sellers to back him up..

is monero still a strong coin in long term invesment? whats your thoughts? ty.
Nothing has fundamentally changed, nothing bad happened and the devs are working on improvements + an official GUI wallet. I am still seeing this coin as a long term agreement, but I have to agree on the high inflation rate. Due the high inflation rate, monero will not bubble as much as other altcoins did (like x10 short term), but I think we still will see a mini bubble, reaching somewhere between 0.006 and 0.01. EDIT: Read the monero missives here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg8195249#msg8195249 (last one) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0 (overview) not sure what you meant in bold. Please clarify. Meant long term investment, not sure why I typed agreement :p
