Sorry for asking this, but could somebody tell me What are real "inventions/software inventions" in XMR and/or AEON? Or are they just a copy of some other coinbase. Because real coders know how things work and not just code a new GUI or something like that, they make the code better, improve and develope new things.
If you have 30 minutes of spare time I would advice you to watch this, basically explains how Monero (AEON) works -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEVm1dMn5Ks

That was a poor time to dump ɱ4000.
That dump to 0023 was you? I assume he was merely an observer posting his thoughts about the dump :-P

There are some options over here -> https://getmonero.org/getting-started/chooseIn case you don't want to download the blockchain, use a wallet with a remote node. You can take the node from moneroclub.com (temporary down currently) for example or use MyMonero.

Smooth's competitors attacking his coins on any threads: ...
0 posts
Perhaps this accounting could use revision. I'm not the Vanillacoin developer so the number still stands accurate. An interesting distinction perhaps. And I came to check out your fork with no gui wallet or proper miner because you constantly attacked 3 threads regarding Vanillacoin.
Welcome! I wasn't dissapointed to see that the OP is full with inaccurate bullshit.
OK I'm kinda sad because while attacking the competitors threads you always get half page answers from community members. When asking about the AEON gui wallet, you simply respond: "maybe we will have one" Kinda sad, thought you have better skills as a developer and could code a gui, what exactly are you developing for XMR?Since this is a fork of XMR, all relevant developments will be merged up stream to XMR. So indirectly he is helping XMR as well (next to the work he is already doing on it, it might not be coding but he surely is doing other important work).

Why are there 10 fake accounts on here repeatedly pumping ETH?
It has no effect
I agree. I just do not prefer to buy your overpriced ETH, that's all.
Even more monero shills...wonder if any are the same people? HCLivess isn't a monero shill, just a blatant troll: So now monero actually needs a different coin to manage it's reputation?
outrage
Monero wants you to open your arms so they can shit their worthless coin right in
because xmr does not have any real developers?
Definitely a serious issue. "DEVs" are looking to jump ship, but they want to keep selling at these ridiculous prices to suckers before they leave, based on artificial price action expectations. You have been warned.
I am so sick of you. Also, crazy over 8% gains lol.

From poloniex, thought it would interest some of you here: Regarding speculation: I am wondering if the dump guy is done now (could be several guys, but his blatant market dumping makes him unique I think). I still have a hard time comprehending why one would dump with +5% slippage, whereas he could've set up some asks and patiently wait until they got bought.

I am wondering what changed your view?
TBH, all the fanbois BS. Why not put the speculation thread on ignore then and stick with the ANN thread?

Many canards and red herrings woven into a religious trance emoted by a noob.
Carry on. Much amusement. Its getting harder and harder to tell y'all apart on a fundamental level from the DRK DASH crowd with every day that goes by. I am wondering what changed your view? Speaking of Monero speculation, there doesn't seem to be a lot of speculation in Monero … just a nice steady coin with a thoughtful and focused development team with their eyes on the prize - private transactions and fungability. When the approaching 'Great Deflation' in crypto occurs, I predict Monero will be one of the last coins standing.
But I am just speculating …

Judging by the comments in this topic XMR is a coin that is good when it is going up, good when it is going down and good the rest of the time !
~LOL~
Does an opinion on the goodness of a coin has to be based on price? Your statement is a bit ambigious I have to say. I'm amused by how any turn in the price action, whether up or down, seems to be cast in a positive light by the fanbois here.Btw, XMR broke through 0.0023 and 'ambigious' is spelled 'ambiguous' ~LOL~ It has a reason that this thread is called the speculation thread Everyone is free to give their opinion here and most should be taken with a grain of salt. Anyway, thanks for correcting my spelling mistake. Not a native speaker, so I might make an occasional spelling error from time to time. Regarding speculation: Perhaps some of the XMR traders are riding the ETH wave which currently has a volume of over 2500 BTC on poloniex. In a sense, this gives poloniex some additional credibility.

Crossposting this to the right thread: Monero has been trading in a sideways market since the 6th of August. Price is currently resting on a major pivot area, the 0.0024 level. The 0.0024 level is a fairly well established pivot zone and the market has respect it a number of times. This level served as support on two occasions during the past five days of trading, and once as resistance. It is very likely that price will find some support here before possible making a move north. If price manages to get to 0.0023, the 0.0024 level is very likely to turn into resistance, but that is a BIG if. http://themerkle.com/market-analysis/monero-technical-analysis-for-08112015/

... Devs, I can wait for the new tagged release. ...
... but the GNU/Linux nerds who compile their own executables want to keep buying cheap moneroj from those who run Microsoft Windows and use 8 month old tagged executables. One should bear in mind that the last pull request before releasing the 0.8.8.6 tagged version was #196, whereas we're currently at #365. Of course their are some open issues (e.g. -> https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/issues/360) in between causing a pull request to skip a #, but most of it are genuine pull requests.

This latest dump was the result of a margin hunter. Someone sold about 1000 XMR under 235 and immediately a trigger order of 11000 dumped to market, this was the result of a long position getting stopped out or liquidated
nothing to worry about here hodlers!
Could also be a stoploss being hit. Anyway, trading on margin is very risky in such a volatile market as XMR. Yeah that's what I mean, someone went stop hunting just below 00235. I'm fairly confident that the wick to 0026 was the bottom of this dump I hope so In addition, I would like to see Poloniex publicizing the margin data, just like bitfinex does with https://bfxdata.com/. This would make things a lot clearer! For instance, we could've made a conclusion if today's dump was a margin call or not. EDIT: Another dump, now that probably everyone who took a margin long when we significantly went up got margin called, it's time to go up again :-P

Hey so here's a dumb questions from someone with general knowledge of linux (ubuntu) but certainly has gaping holes in their understanding. I can compile monero from source and scrounge up missing dependencies, blah blah blah, but how to switch from compiling from master branch of github to the development branch. Something simple like... git clone https://github.com/monero-project/tree/development/bitmonero.git
or some such thing? I know it gets asked all the time but can't find. Want to play with lmdb IIRC, the LMDB is already merged to the master branch. Just compile from the latest commit -> https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/commits/masterUnfortunately I am not really tech-savvy, so can't really help you with your question. Also, if I am wrong in my above sentence, someone please correct me!

Do you imagine someone interested in Monero after hearing the Icetroller nonsense talk here? Do you imagine yourself working or investing in a currency that support people with this toxic behaviour?
Yes, some week ago Otoh sold all of his xmr because icetroller couldn't stop his shit. Otoh definitely wasn't the only one who sold his XMR a while ago. I have a lot of respect for the XMR dev team but apparently some XMR bagholders/supporters can't resist to constantly troll, bash, and show their hate towards other - also promising - projects. Call it weak hands but such behaviour really sickens me so a while ago I decided to sell all of it as well. I wonder how long it takes before those trolls start to realise they're doing nothing but destroy their own coin, way to go.. I've always supported other coins as well and am currently invested heavily in several....but I've stayed out of XMR for the reason that many of their members are so toxic. Im proud that DASH members seem to keep are far more professional demeanor then the XMR community in this regards. Though I will say....there may very well be many great community members there, but they would seem to be the silent majority if so. I would like to see their community members call out the toxic ones on their shameful behavior. I did last time Just wanted to state that XMRpromotions is in no way affliated with the core-team nor with the official social media accounts. Furthermore, I, as Monero supporter, certainly don't approve this kind of actions since they are kind of ridiculous. I personally wish that both sides would refrain from trolling eachother and just went to work on their own projects.
I also don't approve iCEBREAKER's behaviour over here, in my opinion he has made his point and stated his facts. No point in doing that over several times a week. In addition there was luigi1111 helping TanteStefana2 understand Cryptonote. So not all of us are toxic and I think you guys are generalizing a bit too much.

Bids are back on finex, but bear in mind that they can easily get removed again. The guy/entity probably has a script running on the API to remove bids if the price comes within a certain % range of it. In conclusion, don't get fooled by the orderbook.
Well spotted. There is support, somewhere, but don't be looking at fake data and hoping to find truth. This is what a market is. It is nothing more than a price discovery mechanism. If the market were purely open and transparent, would it be a better indicator of value? Who knows? It would be an interesting experiment, but we have no markets currently that are not manipulated from which we might harvest useful data or glean useful information..., so; in the end, speculation is the driver of the market. Thus, gentlemen, your work is cut out and laid before you. Best of luck. I hope the 260 local bottom will hold for now, otherwise we'll probably see a retest of 250 where the SMA200 lies. @gotmilk: I've witnessed a significant amount of asks pulling on multiple occasions, so you're probably right. @dreamspark: That could be a valid strategy.
