I feel like I must be in a parallel universe or there is something I'm not reading correctly.
It is strange to me that the work on the game would cause people to somehow feel worse about XMR. It's not like rpietila is the main dev working on any of the other dev team projects. This is just a cherry on top of the sundae. I mean, if they came out and said, "hey, we're going to drop the GUI wallet because we've got this new game coming out," that would be one thing. But that isn't the case.
I think it's because rpietila is seen by some as a major figure in Monero to the extent that what he says or does has a big impact on the direction of XMR. Whether or not that is technically true is irrelevant, providing that people look to rpietila for a sense of what the future holds. If I'm honest, the first time I heard about the game my initial reaction was to sell and to abandon ship, simply because it just sounds like a joke - if nothing else but for the simple reason that it's not going to have any effect on the price, nor is it useful in expanding XMR's userbase. I got into XMR because it was marketted as a serious enterprise that would deliver a credible anonymous coin with the ability to shift 6 or 7 figure USD volumes. I still believe this will ultimately be the case. But when everyone's talking about the 'game' being a major thing for XMR - I'm like, okay well that's fine, but at the same time not the type of ball park I was expecting. Perhaps if just as much energy was put into winning BTC-e I'd be more optimistic. unfortunately, i have to agree here. Moneros main reason to exist is to transfer money anonymously. How this game could help grow serious userbase that wants to use xmr as a way to transfer money, because they need or want the anonymity for what they do, is beyond me. it feels like a waste of energy in times where support seems to be so low and userbase is shrinking. I am sorry to say, but we do not need the people that hold 5 xmr somewhere as an in-game currency. we need serious people that want to transfer money anon, for whatever reasons there might be. Maybe its just me that got i wrong. I thought our main targted usecases would be hiding money, useing anon currency to buy illegal stuff and kick the contoll freaks in the ass. Dnaleor is working on this. He has been advocating monero on the darknet forums.

Stocks are up and down like yoyo, ending on a predictable enough rebound.
Gold is up a few dollars
Bitcoin is relatively flat, also a few dollars down.
This is just an uncomfortable pause while everyone waits to see if the not- so- invisible- hand can continue to control the confidence of the market.
AEX (dutch) is down again today. Around 3%. It has lost over 13% already since the top last month.

From the perspective of development, we need more use for XMR. Therefore I am hopeful for Risto's Crypto Kingndom project. Bitcoin used to have Silk Road which brought constant demand for bitcoins, we need similar things for Monero. I think non-kosher money is not the way we should engage actively but this type of projects like Risto's one. Those projects, when successfully monetized, will bring large amounts of money (I am talking here about not millions but tens of millions, even hundreds of millions usd). If the game is done optimally and it is marketed the best possible ways. it might be a huge success and bring tons of non-crypto people to Monero-community. I am not capable to do coding and I do not have financial resources to do big projects like this but those who wish I hope they will do them. If you can code, then do. Also, what I would like to see is a Monero-dedicated auction site (like ebay but in Moneros), then perhaps e-book library which forces one to buy moneros first in order to borrow e-books etc. This type of services are the ones that will hoover the excessive Moneros from the Poloniex - now there is a flood of Moneros. Slightly below 20 000 Moneros are daily mined currently and I am sure some miners would like to do something with their moneros instead of directly dumping them into Poloniex. Of course I am assuming here the Monero services are not direct dumpers (like the major btc-merchants are just another way to dump the coins into the fiat-btc-markets). Dnaleor is working on this, he is advocating for monero on different darkmarket forums. If you want to help, feel free to PM him!

Breaking 2333 CNY would be very bullish! Let's see if we can achieve that.
OKcoin already hit 2345 I noticed that, but their previous top is 2353 (Bitstamps 395.55). So they didn't break their previous top. I should have mentioned I was looking at Huobi.

Bid side collapsed hard, volume too. market seems exhausted. where do we go?
Yea.. forum activity and participation of prominent members also on the decline. I think there is overall disappointment that the database and GUI, which were just around the corner two months ago are still not here. I guess the majority of investors are in the red, which doesn't add much to the enthusiasm.. I started developing a service based on XMR, but put it on hold until I see clear signs that things are going in the right direction. I think it's the fear hanging around (see McHaggis' reply), not what you've stated above. The devs never gave a timeline for these things. So basicly that can't lead to disappointment.

Conspiracy Theory:
Maybe the 30k seller has a lot of more coins and he just wanted some fiat to push up the price. On top of that, the buy of the 30k wall was received quit bullish.
EDIT: Wall seems to be real.

I have no idea about that miner but I do know that I wouldn't trust a Newbie to point me to download anything. Beware. I am also using that miner for a while now, didn't see any problems. Fee is even less than Claymore's miner. Everyone can make his or her own risk assessment, but if I were downloading a binary (at least I assume it is a binary) from some unknown source I would at a minimum only do it on a computer without any data I care about, and definitely no wallets (XMR or otherwise). It might be just fine, or it might not. Pretty hard to tell. Good point, though i am using it on my rigs that hold no data whatsoever, so yeah, people should stick with known stuff on private computers. I agree but...must say all crypto world is based on trust and it is hard to choose..we trusted Mintpal (moolah) and now....we lose our coins... This isn't confirmed though is it? Nothing yet confirmed, maybe you could try to PM moolah on irc. He is in the #dogecoin and #bitcoin channel.

But how would Coinbase getting raided be bullish for btc? This would destroy all kinds of businesses acceping btc...
I doubt Coinbase would be shut down as they've gone overboard with their AML. it's just a rumor at this point anyways, probably from an altscam proponent. I don't think anyone said anything about Coinbase. Here's the original IRC transcript of this rumor: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2iujgv/secfincen_preparing_action_against_us_bitcoin/Appears solely relevant to "Bitcoin 2.0" companies. The tldr quote: "[6:08:29 PM] taariq lewis: If you are in USA and you run a Bitcoin Business that issues tokens and you are not registered with FinCen, expect these fines to be established guidelines going forward" BitsharesX seems vulnerable to this, if true. Even though it's Invictus Innovation (based in Virginia) that has written the code, BitSharesX was purposefully (to avoid this kind of problems) released by a Hong Kong firm. That doesn't matter at all if they still have investors/users from the USA.

I have a decent amount of XMR stuck on Mintpal...
Does anyone have information as to when their shit will be sorted and we can withdraw?
Not to scare you but: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=817041.0Maybe you should head over to their IRC channel.
