Ask-side is nearly over 250k atm.. :O

someone (h3speros?? lol) is trying to impress a lot of folks here, or dump would have commenced i think.
Probably some showing off indeed, but I'm curious in which direction we will go.

Pretty big sell off happening right now!
3544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 01, 2014, 02:23:09 PM
I wrote to a small exchange with /USD pairs based in Hong Kong. I'm not convinced with their security, but I've done some successful withdraws (EDIT: somewhat slow - 1-4 hours delays with manual confirmations from the admins). I wrote them mainly because of the XMR/USD pair they could add:

Dear Crypto-trade Team,
Last 3 months there is an unequal cryptocurrency on the market. It's called Monero (XMR) and it's different codebase and not a Bitcoin clone. It's using ring signatures and stealth addresses to achieve unlinkable and intractable transactions ant it's here to become the cryptocurrency of the future. If you research it you'll find that there is no other cryptocurrency to achieve even near to the privacy incorporated in the XMR protocol (excluding 80+% premine CryptoNight Bytecoin and also excluding other 6-7 proven scam projects of CryptoNight - see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740112.0). There is no premine or ninjamine and it's the fairest launch possible. From it's start it's always in the first 4-10 on trading volume from all the coins (see coinmarketcap) and it's here to stay. It's not a pump and dump coin and it have a huge amount of Bitcoin early adopters in it's community! It's traded on 6-7 altcoin exchanges, but there is still no exchange with XMR/USD pair. My opinion is that if you add it on your exchange it'll be an opportunity for you to be the first and get some volume (possibly more then all the shitcoins you are adding lately). The XMR community is convinced that adding it to an exchange is an exchange decision, so don't expect voting - it's up to you to take the opportunity.

Name: Monero (XMR)

Best Regards,

This looks like a nice email! Maybe you can send this out to other exchanges (cryptsy, btc38 etc.) also?

I think after this little correction, we will push further upwards. We are still in the upwards "channel". I think we will lose steam once we are around +- 0.006. What are your opinions on this rpitiela?
3546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: September 01, 2014, 12:26:07 AM

He wasn't mistreated by any of the monero devs. He made a post in this topic (which is named altcoin observer, not monero observer), but no one really responded to his post. Few post later some one commented on him and some one who holds monero said that it was jl777 sockpuppet commenting. No further accusions were made against jl777.

That's all? That's what he calls the "monero camp?" Just one post? Talk about a temper.

I recall it was just one user, maybe two. But there was no "camp" or something insulting jl777. Like I said before he is exaggerating. Maybe he is pissed no one responded to his teleport idea?
3547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: August 31, 2014, 09:58:41 PM
Only altcoin exchanges we are missing right now is btc38 and cryptsy, we should get monero added to that! Spoke to fluffypony also on IRC and the GUI wallet is taking some time because the lack of funds.. If more funds would be donated they could hire skilled developers to speed up the work.
What a load of crap that is. Did he actually say that? "Gimme money pl0x, we hire better people"
It wasn't meant in that way, I think he meant that they could hire extra people then to speed up the work..
3548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: August 31, 2014, 09:57:00 PM
SuperNET is pretty much designed to turn BBR in to an XMR killer. That's the intention anyway. Take advantage of the network effect and combine forces of Bitcoindark, BBR and any other coin they think has good features.

I'm a bit skeptical(as usual Tongue) because I can't really see how this is supposed to work technically, but I'm certainly not dismissing the concept. And I'll be watching the developments as the idea is unique and interesting.

I don't own any of the involved currencies(XMR, BBR, BTCD), so I have no skin in this game. But it will be very interesting to see what happens. Also, I'm curious about how the XMR camp is going to react to such an aggressive move against them.

jl777 definitely makes crypto interesting! Smiley

I noticed that. Here is James' post:

Quote
The monero camp (not its devs) mistreated me. At least I felt very insulted, especially when my thoughtful post on the XMR observer thread was totally ignored, until one person made a positive comment. Then I am accused of using a sockpuppet! Of all things to attack my integrity. Then my writing is ridiculed. I am incompetent to write a whitepaper, I know this. I only wrote the draft text and hired a professional writer for making it better. I liked the pirates to make it easy to understand for normal peoples. It was supposed to be split into two documents, one just with pirates and one without. I just dont have time for "GUI" things and I rely on others to just do what is needed. I also dont have time to micromanage or pester people. So a lot of things, they are unfinished. I am not a cryptographer, this also is used to dismiss my Teleport. So, making disparaging comments about my integrity, my intelligence, my tech, my coin.

Even I have my limits.

James

Hell hath no fury...

I must of missed the mistreatment. His product has the potential to be revolutionary. The only thing that I said was to start his own OP so this one did not get derailed. Was that the mistreatment? If so I am sorry that he took it that way,

So he is exaggerating to the fullist.. Maybe some devs of monero can talk to hem and work somethings out? Instead of going to war..

Who buys IPO's?
No IPO coin will be used as a currency anywhere

It's not an IPO coin(it's not even a coin). You're buying shares in a service I believe. From what I can tell reading the thread anyway.
That's what I understood, some things look interesting..

BTC38 is a Chinese exchange so what you really need is QQ groups making noise about it.

With capital outfly restrictions I think the chinese would be very interested in this!

Monero is on voting list of btc38: http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html

Interesting thing is that you can vote by donating btc, maybe we can set up a small fund for this? Would do monero and it's liquidity good if it would be added there. BitsharesX volume was in a few million dollars if I recall correct.

The history is that some idiots spent a lot of money to vote to get the coin on Mintpal and it did nothing other than pump the coin absurdly high for a short time followed by a long decline (plus a lot of BTC in Mintpal's pocket).

If there is real demand for trading, and an opportunity to make money from commissions, exchanges will respond to that by listing it. Trying to bribe them to do it before the demand is really there is not a good idea.

You got a good point there, I think they will notice that they can benefit from monero (because of the high trading volume). Maybe a email to them where monero would be elaborated would push them in the right direction  Wink

Yes!  Much better than giving them BTC

Maybe something some core members can do? My english is not that good and wouldn't want to sent an email full with gramatical errors :p

IPO... do we really have to discuss this further dEBRUYNE? Wink
Not really, but would like some opinions anyway. It looks like another jl777 hype thing.. Even the code got his name into it.

Any thoughts about where this might be going if it gains traction ??

Some big ideas here ..

Triff ..

I would like to hear about this also..

Any conjecture as to the reason for the dumping?
Small correction because we were going parabolic I guess. Uptrend is still going on I think.

Triple top on the 30 minute chart @ 0.0042 area (strong resistance), support is @ 0.00376 area. It's important that we don't break that level. If anyone has some additional TA feel free to post it.

Nice uptrend at 1h chart. Let's see if this trendline holds in the next few days Wink

edit: with DRK below crucial support at 5.6 mBTC, I think the XMR rally will continue Smiley

We broke this  Undecided

I get the feeling were going to be waiting quite a while for any significant upward movement.

and what about this trendline at the 4h chart? Smiley

Someone here got more knowledge of Elliot Waves? I don't know if we can apply this to such a illiquid market. But I think we will see wave 5 soon. (with 0.0032-0.0037 as wave 1, sideways/slowly griding down at 0.0036-0.0037 at wave 2, 0.0036-0.0042 as wave 3, 0.0042-0.0038 as wave 4). If anyone with more knowlegde on this topic could comment I would appreciate it.

Bytheway, we bounced of 0.0042 again, third or fourth time. Pretty tough resistance area there, we will probably boom if we break that.

EDIT: I remembered that I read something about it on babypips a few days ago. Looked for it and found this:

3 Cardinal Rules of the Elliott Wave Theory

Rule Number 1: Wave 3 can NEVER be the shortest impulse wave
Rule Number 2: Wave 2 can NEVER go beyond the start of Wave 1
Rule Number 3: Wave 4 can NEVER cross in the same price area as Wave 1

Read more: http://www.babypips.com/school/summer-school/elliott-wave-theory/the-3-cardinal-rules-and-some-guidelines.html#ixzz3BXs0q1Jz

I think this run-up breaks none of the rules so far, but as I've said, I've got minor knowlegde of this topic, so would appreciate it if someone with more knowledge could comment on this.

Zijn er hier nog mensen ingestapt op mijn advies?  Wink
