1241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does Qora coin have a future on: October 03, 2014, 07:15:35 PM
No responses from Rabbiter please.

Qora coin keeps on trolling and attacking other coins but is there any substance behind Qora?  I have been waiting months to see code from Qora and they have yet to deliver.  Could it just be a NXT reskin?    Huh
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Romanian Gypsies manipulating crypto? on: October 03, 2014, 07:10:42 PM
How do you know the developers didn't buy into their own IPO?  They do it all the time.   That means free coins to dump right after launch.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitshares X inflating due to bugs and hacks on: October 03, 2014, 06:14:52 PM
Likely was an inside job.  BitsharesX was created by Communists in China and most of their volume came from Communists.

The NxT free world versus BitsharesX Communist.

god damn, you always online TaunSew....

1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitshares X inflating due to bugs and hacks on: October 03, 2014, 06:05:35 PM
Likely was an inside job.  It's a coin ran by Communists in China.  Redistribution of wealth to the most esteemed Proletarian delegates!

BitsharesX was always very suspicious in that all the volume just came from a few places in China.

1245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Think Bitcoin was nerf by paypal? on: October 03, 2014, 07:30:05 AM
Paypal added more liquidity to Bitcoin and many Bitcoin whales were hibernating from 2009 / 2010 until November 2013 and came back and have been spending spending spending ever since.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of altcoin launches per month drops back to Dec 2013 level on: October 03, 2014, 03:59:09 AM
Why would the number of them drop?  I still see brand new ones all the time that get anywhere from 50-800 BTC.

Unless the scammers have made millions and can't be bothered anymore to keep it up.
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If Bluemeanie really stole 1 million NxT, then how come he isn't in jail? on: October 02, 2014, 10:05:35 PM
Wasn't he publically doxed a few times?  If it was true then someone should had reported him months ago and the FBI would had taken a battering ram to his front door and threw handcuffs on him.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: October 2014 - another NXT hack, forged coins are being accepted now on: October 02, 2014, 09:18:43 PM
I'm confused since the difference is > 3M.  Regardless, that seems to just be the top 1000 accounts so all it would mean is that the coins moved up into the top 1000.  Or do you have any actual information that there is some hack?

You do know that NXT was never supposed to go past 1 billion coins, right?  There's more than 1 billion now.

Someone is creating forged coins that is being accepted and they are cashing them out.

No, I wasn't aware of that.  Forging just pays the forgers the transaction fees right?  So it's not like staking where there would be a slow increase in the total amount of coins?

Staking in NXT is based on all the accumulated transaction fees, there is no inflation to the total supply.

Total supply of NXT was 999,997,096 and now it's 1.003 billion

Somebody found a way to create more NXT (600,000 NXT) and have it accepted by the system.   NXT is no longer finite but now has Doge inflation until the hacker is caught and stopped.

Sure you don't mean 6,000 not 600,000?

No it's at least 600,000.  It could be as much as 4 million NXT based on what the total supply was for months (if this hacking went unnoticed for months)

In other news I don't think I can eat clam chowder or steamed clams  anymore..  no idea this entire time that I was eating some tentacle thingy.

Well moving to Canada wouldn't do you much good if there isn't anywhere to go or any job to work at.   There was still an economy in the middle of the Black Death, after all the guy who was pulling the cart picking up dead bodies probably wasn't a volunteer but had a family to feed.
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: South Park - Go Fund Yourself on: October 02, 2014, 06:17:08 AM
Big South Park fan but the show has become hit and miss for me. I had no idea the new season had started already. I take it there's no mention of bitcoin in this episode? From the synopsis looks like they could've worked it in. I wonder if they'll ever do a bitcoin episode?
No mention of bitcoin, but you're right, they should.
I thought the whole kickstarter thing was spot on.

Problem is a lot of those kickstarter jokes would just be repeated in a Bitcoin episode.  Like the kids creating their own coin or whatever and then somebody trying to shut them down.
1255  Other / Off-topic / Re: CDC said all is fine. Now, all those that stepped in that dude's vomit... on: October 02, 2014, 05:24:40 AM
Well I think it's explained on there, isn't it?  Half the population is probably children, pensioners or stay at home mom (and maybe people in the underground economy) and some legitimate unemployed people.

No... the term "US Work Force" probably means those who can work for pay.  Less people today than 2000.

They also have a stat for "Not in Labor force" and that number has increased since 2000.

The US population keep growing, but so does the numbers of those on a free ride via social services.

(I'm not trying to be an ass here towards the US - I would love to see similar Canadian numbers.)

I see, now it makes sense - yeah that's bad if almost half the working age population isn't counted as employed.  I wonder how much of it is blackmarket as people can't really indefinitely live off savings.

Who really cares if the US gets infected?  You'll have 150,000,000 less people - a LOT easier to find work!   Smiley

The Black Death wiped out half of Europe, the survivors inherited a lot of land & wealth, in a lot of areas there were no nobles to serve or the nobles were desperate for any labour that they would bid for labour and this prosperity is what led to the Renaissance in Europe.

Hypothetically if half the United States perished then nobody would be homeless, there would be a lot of Ferraris to pick from, you work the land it's yours in Iowa, et cetera.

There would be a boom in the arts as the notion of a 40 hour work week would likely dissipate.  If you are no longer enslaved to afford shelter or the pursuit of consumer goods (they'll be on the shelf for anybody to pick them up), then you are stuck with a lot of free time.

First thing the survivors will do is change the name from IOWA to... [?]

I'm not entirely sure.  I don't think losing half the population would destroy nations.  Most countries survived the Black Death... technically survived, Byzantine Empire only disappeared because it was a ghost town after the plague.

Maybe the US gets depopulated and US Empire is destroyed by Mexicans?  Shocked

1259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kissinger made plans to attack Cuba on: October 02, 2014, 04:58:02 AM
The US had war plans against Canada.  The Documentaries I saw explained it that the US was looking to instigate a world conflict against Britain to bring itself out of the depression and for a time they approached Weimar and later Nazi Germany in this scheme.

Even as late as 1943 (even with war declared) the US was still installing branch plants in Germany and the Occupied Territories (the Bush Family, the same ones as the later two Presidents, was alleged to had participated with this scheme.  Along side other American bankers and industrialists).

American investment in Germany didn't really cease until 1943 when the US started Operation Husky (invasion of Sicily), so US policy was clear that the fighting in North Africa was really just some colonial war and the US could had pulled out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Plan_Red

Good example of how $Fiat leads to war.  If Hitler didn't come along then the Americans would had simply invaded the British Empire and the bankers would had made a killing off that (seizing all the factories and bank reserves in Britain / Canada / Oceania and then issuing all those juicy contracts for reconstruction to predominately American firms).
