can i cash out my 19 Nemstakes on the AssetExchange on ONE NEM account by the distribution or i must split it to 9 or 10 accounts?

i don΄t want it to complicate!

If I were you, I would stick to the rules.  Wink

these are stupid rules, every NEMster should be glad to have bigger investors!

That "stupid rule" was to ensure nobody would come in and do something like buy 200 stakes.    These $capital restrictions also kept the price of NEMstake cheap so other people would have a chance to join NEM.

Technically speaking you can still buy 200 stakes but you would have to create 100 NXT wallets to do so, which is 100 transactions, 100 passwords to remember (and not lose), et cetera.  Kind of a lot of work that could take hours.  In every other coin to get 5% (or as much as 50%)  you just send in some BTC and you're done in 30 seconds.

fingerprint scanner would be the holy grail of crypto imo. Pretty much solves the security issues no?

Fingerprint and palm reader technology is very expensive and prone to hiccups.

Hidden USB or a paper wallet in a locked fireproof safe is the way to go?

1144  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin can solve financial problems in Africa on: October 18, 2014, 04:41:18 AM
BitPost has recently published an article explaining the ways Bitcoin could help African economics. Written by a writer from Kenya.
http://bit-post.com/africa-in-the-age-of-bitcoin/

Are here any African citizens? What's your point of view?

The wire fee for Africa continent is quite high. Bitcoin transaction with decentralized exchange abroad can save them a lot of fee on simple transaction.

m-pesa has already taken the lead there.

and it works on a Nokia 1100 and similar models, "dumb phones" used by over a billion people in this world.

Market capitalization of $4.2 billion with only 15 million users..  same ratio as PayPal which has 150 million users ($40 billion).  Which proves that you can have something based in Africa still be worth a lot (after all the people using your service aren't the ones in rurals but the middle and upper classes living in the cities).

Of course if Bitcoin had 15 million users like M-Pesa or 150 million users like PayPal, then the capitalization would be in the $100s of billions or the $Trillions due to the asset characteristics of digital currencies.   In practice it's only 500K-2M users with a peak capitalization of $15-$18 billion.

The problem here is Bitcoin userbase expansion doesn't seem to be occurring.  If we take Bitcointalk as an coincidental example, the number of new registrations each month has been on the decline.

Jim Rickards, a senior adviser to the CIA and the Pentagon, has said the CIA and 16 of the country's intelligence agencies have been circulating a memo detailing the start of  25 year great depression.  The end of the US as the world's reserve currency and a $100 trillion bust (which I assume is referring to both assets and derivatives which stand at $480 trillion world wide).  Global anarchy to ensue.

Nobody has yet to create a thread on the NEM forum about the total number of NEM.  Are we happy with 4 billion?  Huh
no need for discussing the total number of NEM, it was designed in the beginning ,
and everyone accept it.

As an aside, 8 billion NEM will likely have a larger marketcap than 4 billion NEM, because of how human psychology works.

 Huh

I don't understand what you meant here unless you meant individual NEM would have a cheaper price and this would compel people to buy more.  This is a regularly brought up complaint about Bitcoin where people are complaining they can't even afford just the one Bitcoin.

They've come and go for many months now.  Makes you wonder if there's been any persons who've successful hit all of them up and made a small fortune.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 16, 2014, 07:53:15 PM
This is mainly about Bitcoin, but really NEM as a 2nd generation crypto currency is being built from the ground up to do just these types of things.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIVAluSL9SU&feature=youtube_gdata&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

That can be an example of Bitcoin marketing but as you noticed it has only had 10,000 views.  We can assume that most of these 10,000 are already current users of Bitcoin.

The big leap for digital currencies is these some 500K-2M users around the world when the internet back in 1989 had 3+ million users.  YouTube has not yet proven to be an effective marketing medium for digital currencies to approach the masses.

The most popular Bitcoin video is the "What is Bitcoin" at 6 million views over 3 years.. this is terrible..

That guy in Poland with the Spider Dog Prank has had 100 million views in under 30 days.  There's people who can get millions of views overnight on YouTube.  So the Bitcoin promotion on YouTube has been largely unsuccessful.

I don't think you can bribe YouTube celebrities, either.  I think if NEM wanted to go down the video route then you need to look at YouTube's compensation package and match their compensation or exceed them.

They are paid $25 per 1000 people who click on an advertisement.

In this circumstance if somebody can create NEM videos and they get 800 million views, then they can get their $1 million from YouTube and an additional $1 million from the NEM promotion fund.. and they would deserve it, I don't think any other sort of promotion would be as cost-effective as something reaching 800 million people.

1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has reached the tipping point on: October 16, 2014, 08:52:16 AM
...with only 500K-2M users as per Bitcoin.

Those numbers are overestimates, the real numbers are closer to 50k-200k.

Then that would be more incentive for people to roll up their sleeves and grow the userbase.  Bitcoin after all had a peak capitalization of what $18 billion or was it higher?

The commodity characteristics means if any digital currency were to hit 100 million users then it would be probably be worth $Trillions.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has reached the tipping point on: October 16, 2014, 08:35:49 AM
I'm not sure if you can discount the infrastructure behind bitcoin. Others might do the same or better, but to catch up to bitcoin in terms of distribution or acceptance, seems far fetched.

Distribution of Bitcoin is far from ideal and will only get worse as mining becomes more and more centralized. As for acceptance, I am not sure the widely publicized numbers are anywhere close to reality. It's very hard to live on Bitcoin unless you are in a very big city and make a lot of efforts to find vendors who accept Bitcoin in exchange for food, shelter, etc. Same goes for infrastructure: the programming part is easy to adjust for crypto 2.0 technologies, this crypto movement has just started, the first mover advantage of Bitcoin is not that big, except in people's minds. Well, marketing and usefulness help to change people's perception rather quickly.

There's no first mover advantage in something with only 500K-2M users as per Bitcoin.  The internet back in the late 1980s had up to 3 million users but TCP/IP did not have 600 alternates and TCP/IP was also officiated by the US military in the 1980s.  I think everybody on Bitcointalk is wrong - I still think we're in the innovator stage of this technology and digital currencies will be $trillions someday with 100 million to 1 billion users.

Bitcoin is not the Yahoo or Alta Vista of crypto currencies yet.   Bitcoin could become that Yahoo but there's a critical problem here called userbase expansion and nobody wants to address that elephant in the living room.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Uro coin = 1 tonne of urea on: October 16, 2014, 08:11:11 AM
Which allegations?  I've seen some pretty concrete evidence (not allegations) on this thread and the others.  Anyone who thinks Uro is a serious investment needs to undergo an evaluation at the psychiatric.

This coin amused me in an intellectual way as Bat Guano (similar to Urea) investment scams were very common a century ago.  It seems to prey on the ignorance that farmers need fertilizer for crops ("huge market!!") and also some humanitarian ("growing plants is fun") - the same sort of duping that spinsters often utilizee when selling green scams and a lot of dumb wealth goes for it hook, line and sinker.
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: No correlation whatsoever with market on: October 16, 2014, 07:03:59 AM
All that money that could be in bitcoin, is in it RIGHT NOW...

Bitcoin only has 500K-2M users.  It could hypothetically scale up to 150-200 million users and be worth $trillions.

What do you classify MaidSafe as?  Did you know Maidsafe started before Bitcoin and they got that $7million IPO here on Bitcointalk?  There were even strong allegations that laundered MtGox coins were involved.  That's $7 million for one of the world's longest vaporware projects.

I was the one who revealed to Bitcointalk, through investigation, that the Maidsafe company in Scotland only had like 4 employees.  Nowhere enough manpower or intellectual power to accomplish what they want (hence the vaporware for almost a decade).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582731.0

Wouldn't put it past Ethereum having laundered Bitcoins either.

Honestly how do any of us how many official employees Ethereum has?   They used that have that photo up (until it was pulled) and most of the people on the list looked pretty dubious to me.
1160  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jail or Hell? Confess of my life. on: October 16, 2014, 04:41:26 AM
Jail is nowt more than an army camp where ya get beat up if you dont play the game..

If you cant do the time, dont do the crime, and yes, you will pay forever, even though you THINK you done your time, such is life.

Depends on the country, in many countries it's better than the army.  A lot of countries have these low security prisons and inmates get to decorate the cell, play video games and get to eat very good food (better than what you will find in hotels and schools).

How often at home do you get to eat dumplings, chicken alfredo, slow cooked soup, roast tenderloin..   these are the things some prisoners are eating..

There's a reason why some guys commit more crimes to get back in prison.
