141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or Fiat? on: April 09, 2024, 03:57:50 PM
I think in time people will switch to cryptocurrency, so I am already preparing for it and keep money in TFS, plus you can also staking tokens and make money on it. So definitely crypto has more advantage over fiat.
You think people will switch from fiat to stablecoins? No chance for citizens of countries that use "healthy" currencies like the U.S dollar, Pounds, etc. Prolly people from third world countries who have shit currencies that is greatly affected by inflation and hyper inflation, they might decide to use USDT that is pegged to the U.S dollar.

That being said, USDT is very risky, it is centralized just like fiat currencies, but the institution that issues it is far less trusted than central banks that print fiat currencies. Stablecoins could be depegged and people who hodl it can lose their money in the twinkle of an eye, but fiat currencies stored in the bank is at least insured up to a certain amount.

I hope you didn't try to hold a conversation in the least or if you did, the best sign if he's a scammer will be when he uses the lure of what you stand to earn, after you do few tasks for him, and such task might entail you divulge personal information without much thought.
If you read some previous responses, you'd understand that the sender of that message isn't actually a scammer and i don't think he would have pulled a fast one on OP even if he held a conversation with the sender. It was just someone who was confused about what was happening in the forum with "merits" on April 1st. That being said, it is obviously good to be sceptical about unsolicited PM's and take many of them as a scam, until proven otherwise, especially when coming from a user that is not reputable or one you are not familiar with.

I feel like the value of Rodrygo should not be 100+ million as well, that seems a bit excessive, just because Real can spend a lot because they have a lot of money, doesn't mean that other teams are willing to spend that much either.
Are there any rumors that Real Madrid want to sell Rodrygo? I have not seen anything like that, i believe he is happy in Real Madrid and the club is also happy with him. Of course Mbappe is joining the team pretty soon and there would be strong competition for a starting place in the team, but i don't think it is something Rodrygo should be worried about, he basically has to keep his head down and keep doing his job and then see what happens.

As for his value, it should be nothing close to £100m, he does not have the quality to be worth that much, but these days anything is possible in the transfer market, just take a look at how much Chelsea signed players like Caicedo, Enzo, etc, nowadays clubs just place outrageous amounts on their players in the hope that they would get a team which would sign them.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 07, 2024, 02:29:11 PM
This is going to be a tough match because Manchester United will be the host, Manchester United will no like to live this opportunity, i have confidence in them that they can do better this time around.
Manchester United are very erratic, so it is very difficult for me to have any sort of confidence in them, they are in a very tight top four race and i have a feeling that it would be impossible for them to make top four if they lose this game. Liverpool know what is at stake, win and go back to the summit of the league, City and Arsenal fans will be watching this game, and definitely cheering for United to win. Kick-off is a few minutes away, time to grab my popcorn for this cracker.
146  Economy / Economics / Re: "Various aspects of Bitcoin and crypto economics" on: April 07, 2024, 01:27:19 PM
To defend our finance, wealth, we have to avoid banks, use money to invest. No better investment asset than Bitcoin.
Due to inflation, it might not be wise to keep all our money in the bank, nobody ever became rich by keeping their money in the bank, they invest it and the money works for them. But the thing is, we cannot completely avoid the bank, neither can we invest too much money into Bitcoin because of its risks. Generally i don't think Bitcoin is the best investment one can get into, there's real estate, stocks, bonds, etc, some are less risky with low ROI, but i think it is essential for one not to invest in too many risky assets.
147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 cold wallets for my crypto assets on: April 07, 2024, 12:29:40 PM
1. If your cold wallet is offline 99% of the time does that mean that if/when offline it cannot be hacked?
If it is offline and isn't connected to the internet, it cannot be hacked. Having said that, if it is offline 99% of the time, and online for only 1% of the time, then there is a chance it can be hacked, in other words, your cold wallet must never be connected to the internet.
2. Those who read this question please let me know which cold wallet you would choose if you were me with the knowledge you have today?
Choose a hardware wallet:
Open source hardware wallet
Airgapped hardware wallet
3. Why open source cold wallet is better than none open source wallets?
In open source wallets you can check/review the original code by yourself and make sure it is safe for use, in closed source wallets you have to depend on or trust the developers because you cannot review the original code.

You've been a member of this forum for over four years now, though you have been inactive for sometime, but you have only earned 1 merit. Thus i think you should leave tips and guides like this for users who have earned a lot of merits and are somewhat reputable. Personally i don't think it makes sense for newbies to be giving tips/guides to other newbies.
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be cautious when copying wallet addresses on: April 07, 2024, 10:42:51 AM
and the good thing is you can review the transaction you made from outside or from any online device if it's your address or if it was a different address right away you can cancel the transaction.
Yes, but one must doube check the address before signing the transaction with the offline device, one cannot just "cancel" the transaction after it has been broadcasted. "Cancelling" means replacing the transaction with another one, if it is RBF'ed, which is called double spending, and then pay a higher fee in the new transaction, but it might be too late and the initial transaction could have already been confirmed.
This is not the solution to your problem. You need to devote more time to the security of your equipment by using antivirus programs. But in any case, your care when sending a transaction will be indispensable if you carefully check the correctness of the address for sending coins.
Antivirus programs are good, but it is not a complete solution to the problem, some of them even steal people's data. Offline storage is a great solution and then attentiveness to double check output addresses.
150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be cautious when copying wallet addresses on: April 06, 2024, 08:32:52 PM
I would suggest using a phone or system you don't usually use to browse the web to hold your coins or better still an Hardware wallet.
A phone you don't usually use to browse the internet sounds like a device that is connected to the internet sometimes, but not all the time. Mind you that such a device is not airgapped and it it is not safe for your coins, an offline set up has to be completely offline. In your case you were attacked by a clipboard malware, you can avoid that if you use your online device very well and also double check the address you want to send Bitcoin to.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A few crypto questions. on: April 06, 2024, 04:58:00 PM
And for the altcoins, after buying altcoins, what happens if no one wants to buy them from you? You know a lot of altcoins aren't all that popular so how do people even sell off their altcoins? Can you even hodl altcoins?
This thing can only happen with altcoins, many of them become worthless after sometime and you cannot sell them to anyone, in that case you become a bagholder, this is the reason why it is advisable to hodl altcoins only for the short term. Having said that, another way to avoid this is that you should stay away from new altcoins and buy established coins that have been around for a longer time, newer projects are quicker to fail, thus there is definitely more risk when you buy them.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 05, 2024, 08:41:31 PM
I think Arsenal on the contrary now is the time to become consistent outside the EPL, they are strong enough and hold serious competition in their home league, which can't be said for Bayern. Maybe Arsenal will take advantage of Bayern's position and still be able to go further in the 1/2 of the tournament
If Arsenal is going to beat Bayern Munich and take revenge for all the beatings they have received in the hands of the German champions, then the time is now, they might never get a better chance to beat Bayern Munich. Tuchel's men are really struggling and now their only chance of lifting a trophy is the CL, but they are faced with a huge test in Arsenal.

If Arsenal are to progress to the next round, then they have to beat Bayern at the Emirates. Bayern Munich might not be in form, but beating them in the Allianz Arena is a tough proposition, thus Arsenal need to take the initiative and win in the first leg, so they can at least carry a win into the second leg in Germany.
153  Economy / Reputation / Re: Solana SSHIB project ignores payment to Bounty Campaign participants (scam) on: April 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM
OP, making multiple posts in a row in not allowed in the forum, merge what you want to say in one post. You do not have to reply to each user in a new post.
We love and appreciate our bounty members - those who have been with us for a long time know this very well - we personally understand that this thread may not move them (https://solshib.space/) from their place - but it will become easier for us at least from the fact that we stood up for our participants and raised this topic for many.
Good a thing that you know this thread wouldn't yield anything towards getting the participants paid. Projects like these do not care about their reputation, and they may prolly not get listed anywhere, so it is useless from the get-go. Bounty participants know this, but they hope to get the lucky one that pays them, so no need "standing up" for them.
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run again, huh on: April 05, 2024, 06:21:02 AM
What is a realistic expectation from the bull run, given  the last one in March 2021, Bitcoin hit  $61,000 and fell down to 31k about two couple of months later... It rose later on, amazingly though. But is this price fall normal in the bull run?? What is a helpful tip here.
What quite a lot of people have been predicting as the highest expectation for this bull run is for Bitcoin price to rise to $100,000, but mind you that nobody can be sure of what is going to happen with Bitcoin's price, it is unpredictable, thus you have to DYOR. Having said that, there is always going to be a correction in price and also a fall back into the bear market, because Bitcoin rises and falls in cycles, but the events of this period is different from that of the past, so you might get things very wrong if you want to use the past to exactly predict this current period.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 04, 2024, 10:40:15 PM
They still have eight more games to go for the title, which is a difficult process with City and Arsenal right behind them.
True it is difficult, but Liverpool have the advantage, it is in their hands; if they will all of their remaining EPL games, they would be Premier league champions, of course City are Arsenal are going to keep on breathing down their necks, but they would need other teams to do the job for them. All the remaining fixtures for Liverpool are games that they can win, so there is a very high chance that they are not going to drop points again. It would be an unbelievable farewell from the players to Klopp, if they are to win the league.
156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Becareful with telegram wallet! on: April 04, 2024, 08:14:26 PM
I don't know how the Telegram wallet works and i don't care to know because it is not an option for me to store any coins. Telegram is one platform with so much cases of scam and fraud, and that alone is enough reason not to use it to keep any of your money. Even if you want to store shitcoins, there are better wallets to use, wallets that are non-custodial and open source like Unstoppable wallet, then there are others like trust wallet that are not open source, but a better option for shitcoins than telegram wallet.
157  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle emotions when you lose during trading. on: April 04, 2024, 04:47:14 PM
This thing has been discussed exhaustively in the forum, the talk of trading and how to control ones emotions when trading, i am not a day trader, but i think a trader with the right skills and knowledge, who knows the risk involved in trading would know how to combine trading and other life activities, and also know when to stop. The thing is, trading is quite risky, that is why newbies are advised to stay away from trading, whilst the mistake the more experienced traders make is to think they can make profits everytime, or to keep on chasing profit even when they are losing.
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes a post to be quality? on: April 04, 2024, 04:08:58 PM
What makes a post to be quality? Good English language or the content of the post?.
And if good English, well written in good sentences defines a post to be quality is it that Non English speakers are not qualify to be in this forum or to discuss in general boards because they are only good in speaking broken English which is a borrowed language.
There are quite a lot of non-native English speakers in the forum who are quality posters, mind you that your English does not have to be impeccable, it just has to be decent enough for other users to understand what you are saying. There are a lot of non-native English speakers who have also said that communicating in the forum has helped to improve their English, so it is for a fact that if you communicate with others here, overtime, your English will get better.

Quality post is somewhat subjective, but i think if you firmly understand the subject of discussion and you are able to contribute to it, you are making good posts. It is all about garnering knowledge, either through reading the posts of other users, or from external sources, and if you do not understand a thing about a subject being discussed, do not post, but read. Do this, and you will subsequently make good posts in the forum.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 03, 2024, 09:49:13 PM
City were class today, it was an excellent display and they deserved to score all those goals and get the win, i said it before the game that City suffered in the hands of Aston Villa in the first leg, they were completely outplayed and lost, they came into this second leg with a mission and accomplished it. City outplayed and outclassed Unai Emery's men today and they were indeed worthy winners.

City know that the title is no longer in their hands, and all they have to do is keep on winning their games and see what happens, next up for them is Crystal Palace, and it is definitely going to be another three points, before they travel to Spain to face Real Madrid in the CL. It is such a busy schedule for the treble winners, but that is because they are competitive and alive in three competitions.
160  Economy / Economics / Re: Irresponsible spenders consumes their retirement resources and losses values. on: April 03, 2024, 04:48:23 PM
I don't even know if this story is true, it sounds quite like a silly story, why are you intruding into the privacy of others and making claims you are not even sure of. I am not saying that people should be irresponsible in their spending, but you cannot judge a man based on the story you just told us, savings and investments are very important in protecting wealth and money, but one should also take their time to have fun and enjoy their lives, you cannot save everything.
