1001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Smart Contract helps when shopping!? on: July 25, 2023, 02:30:44 PM
Do I think this idea made sense?
I don't think this can be implemented for this purpose. The buyer doesn't even need to use smart contracts to achieve privacy, the buyer should avoid reusing addresses when making payments for shopping.

When the buyer makes the payment, all the seller is privy to is their address, as well as linking the inputs and outputs on the address, thus if the buyer avoids reusing addresses as well as using CoinJoin or mixers for obscurity, then they will achieve a high level of privacy. If the buyer also wants to make the payment from an address with too many inputs, they can use Coin control to select the address and UTXO they want to spend, these are better ways to achieve privacy.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $20,000 to invest in any Altcoins of your choice? on: July 25, 2023, 09:10:59 AM
There are many good Altcoin available in crypto currency market. You can visit coinmarketcap to found it. There you can easily found all data about thats altcoin. Many Popular Altcoin you can found in coinmarketcap. I am also holding some altcoin such as PBR, TRX, DOGE, BNB etc. I think that's coin will up in bull market. Because it was high price in past bull session. I think if you also bought it will be very profitable for you.
There aren't many good altcoins in the cryptocurrency industry, mind you that just because an Altcoin pumps in price doesn't mean that it is a good Altcoin, many of them are pump and dump coins, and they'll pump when there's hype and dump after a very short time. A good cryptocurrency is one that has an actual utility like Bitcoin does.

Having said that, quite a lot of people add Altcoins to their portfolio because it can pump very fast, though it is very risky, thus i'd not tell someone to invest too much money into Altcoins, it is better to basically pick a few of them and put only an amount that one can afford to lose.
1003  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How about a convention on: July 25, 2023, 08:51:18 AM
Naija get 36 states including the FCT, i dey sure say we get users scattered all over these states, a convention no go fit work because the location no go favor many people and dem no go fit dey present. A physical convention no go dey possible because of privacy concerns, no be everybody go like to reveal their identity, and i no even think say a convention dey necessary, anything wey person wan learn, e go fit learn am online, the person go fit also ask for local board and people go reply am.

Our local board dey progress and i never notice the issues wey you dey talk about, in terms of quality posts we are doing very well, and we do not have to see each other before we can learn from one another, you fit pm person sev if you go like make him teach you something, that's if you feel say the person get the knowledge wey you dey find.
1004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Setting up an offline wallet on: July 24, 2023, 11:24:36 PM
Although ledger and trezor have many privacy problems they are indeed safe. And ledger closed source.
The problem with Ledger is not only a privacy problem, it is a very serious security problem. They (Ledger) propose to split and send their customers recovery phrase to "trusted parties" through the Ledger recover service, that makes them unsafe because the safest way a seed phrase should be backed up is on paper and by only the owner of the funds. The thing is, Ledger recover is a big red flag about the entire Ledger project, and it is enough reason to stay away from the hardware wallet.
1005  Other / Meta / Re: Icopress ' Merit Source Application on: July 24, 2023, 04:36:01 PM
You had everyone thinking you are a merit source before now, including myself, anyway, it is better late than never. I fully support your application and i am pretty sure that most of the users in the forum will, you are a good user and your contributions are pretty obvious for all to see. Well, in the end it is up to Theymos to decide, but i think whenever he decides to add new merit sources, you'd be one of the stronger contenders to get the position, so goodluck.
1006  Other / Meta / Re: Charles-Tim merit source application on: July 24, 2023, 04:19:57 PM
I am applying for merit source for Nigeria (Naija) local board.
Our local board definitely needs more merits, and you'd be a good merit source for us over there; thus i support your application. I see your initial merit source application hasn't been accepted by Theymos just yet, but i think you have a stronger case here, since our local board is somewhat new and undermerited, giving us a merit source might be something Theymos will consider doing. Goodluck with your application and i'm certain you'll make a good merit source when accepted.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 23, 2023, 09:10:43 PM
Last season was competitive and interesting, I was surprise to see Manchester City win the league.
I would've been surprised if City didn't win the league. I know that Arsenal were on the summit of the table for nearly the entire season, but during that period i still believed that City would win the EPL title. Manchester City know exactly what needs to be done in order to win the league, thus once it gets to the final part of the season, they get into gear and become unstoppable. Arsenal put on a great show last season, but it just wasn't enough.

City are yet again favorites for the title, but with the good business that Arsenal have done this summer, they will be one of the contenders for the title, this new season will even be more competitive than last season, and the big clubs would want to make sure that City do not win it again.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 23, 2023, 08:33:35 PM
The only reason he's leaving PSG as a player and Board member is to compete in a better league; he wants the spotlight, which he wasn't receiving at PSG and will only grow worse now that Messi has departed; he was the only reason people watched that league. That's a huge deal, but I don't think money is the reason he's leaving PSG. He would have signed the multimillion-dollar proposed contract if it were for money.
Mbappe has always been in the spotlight even at PSG, the only thing is that he has been unable to win either the CL or the Ballon D'or and he feels that he has a higher chance of winning it in Real Madrid, he has also been a long time admirer of the Spanish giants and he never hid his desire to play for them one day.

Having said that, Mbappe is definitely not going to leave Europe, he will remain one of the highest paid footballers if he either stays in PSG or moves to another top European club, thus there is no need for him to leave Europe right now. PSG have put him in a very tight position and i predict that he is going to sign a new contract and then he will be sold to Real Madrid next summer.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 23, 2023, 12:03:52 AM
It is just too early for Mbappe to go there. I think it would be a big hit to his career just because he will make more money. I assume he doesn't want that now so he will turn that down.
Mbappe would still make quite a lot of money if he stays in PSG or moves to Real Madrid, thus why would he move to the Saudi Pro League which is a less competitive league and effectively end his chances of winning the CL or the Ballon D'or. There is no chance in hell that Mbappe is going to switch to the Saudi Pro League, he is either going to be forced into signing a new contract with PSG or he is going to be sold to Real Madrid, these are the only two feasible options imo.
1010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How are individual transactions validated? on: July 22, 2023, 11:51:02 PM
Anyway, I am correct about miners can choose to add unconfirmed transactions from the mempool that may may/will added to a block once it is validated right?
Miners add transactions that have been validated by nodes into their candidate block, all of the transactions that miners add into their candidate blocks are unconfirmed, they become confirmed if the miner adds that candidate block to the blockchain.
Right, I forgot that the node allows developers to write JavaScript and memory pool or mempool are where the data is being stored. If I am correct then the mempool is the one who are running node right?, Since they downloaded the data.
I don't know if i understood you correctly, but every node has their own mempool, and this is where they store transactions that miners will add into their candidate block to try and mine it.
1011  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wasabi or Samourai ? on: July 22, 2023, 11:23:52 PM
No, I don't have any KYC Bitcoins, I have accumulated Ethereum for years and now I want to keep my assets safe with Bitcoin.

The problem is, there is a lot over the last few years and Bisq / Hodl Hodl  liquidity is to low and CoinJoin / Whirlpool / just takes too long.

So what would be better?
Send everything to Binance switch it to BTC and then CoinJoin even if it takes a long time...

Or better decentralized cross chain swap / bridge
If you are concerned about your privacy, you'd not send them to Binance in order to swap it to Bitcoin, because even after swapping and using CoinJoin, Binance will still have the logs pertaining to your transaction, thus i don't think you should do it that way.

There are quite a lot of centralized exchanges feigning to be decentralized, thus you have to be careful to avoid them, for privacy you may send the ETH to Binance and then sell it for fiat, and then use fiat to buy Bitcoin in Bisq, or you can set your own order in Bisq for an ETH to Bitcoin trade.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 21, 2023, 06:59:31 PM
There are many factors that made Pep Guardiola leave Barcelona in the past.
The most likely problem is about the team's finances or internal problems that are not conducive. I couldn't imagine the same thing he would do at Manchester City after he broke such an important record for that team.

Manchester City have good financial strength to give Pep Guardiola the comfort to be able to stay longer. I wouldn't think Pep Guardiola would leave Manchester City, but it could happen in the future when he has good reasons to leave.
When Pep Guardiola left Barcelona they didn't have financial problems, neither did he leave because of Internal problems, Pep Guardiola left Barcelona after 4 years out of his own personal decision and his desire to take a break from football, after sometime he returned to the dugout with Bayern Munich and stayed for 3 years, before he ended up at Manchester City.

Having said that, Pep has stayed longer at City than he did at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and i think it is because of the immense support that he has received from the City hierarchy all this years, this has made him love the club so much and it has become difficult for him to leave. Pep will definitely leave City someday, but i don't think it is anytime soon.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 21, 2023, 06:36:24 PM
Tottenham are not taking Harry Kane leaving the club well at all. Tottenham may want Harry Kane to stay at their club long-term but there have been rumors of Harry Kane leaving the club since last season. At the moment Harry wants to leave Tottenham so if he is forced now then the management will keep him at Tottenham against his will.
Harry Kane allures interest from big clubs every summer, but Spurs are always reluctant to negotiate and even if they decide to, they'll place an astronomical transfer fee for him, one that most clubs would be unwilling to pay. The thing is, i don't know if Kane is ready to leave Spurs, if he is, then he has to force his way out of the club, it is basically obvious that he cannot leave Spurs without forcing his way out, and Daniel Levy would always be reluctant to negotiate with clubs that are interested in Harry Kane.
1014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 20, 2023, 08:19:14 PM
Just getting  a secure wallet possibly a hard ware wallet and avoiding clicking on unfamiliar and every links that pops up  on our device will do the tricks than spending money trying to enroll on a cyber security course.
It shouldn't even be possible to click on links with the device that hodls your Bitcoin, because that device should be offline. Online wallets are risky and can be attacked easily, a hardware wallet or a software wallet created offline is the wallet that should be used to hodl Bitcoins that one cannot afford to lose.

Having said that, a Cybersecurity course might not be necessary, one can learn all they need to know about how to secure their Bitcoin in online forums like Bitcointalk and by reading articles about Bitcoin security online.
1015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase and passphrase backup on: July 20, 2023, 06:00:12 PM
Have fewer wallets.
Sometimes it is inevitable to have many wallets, especially when you are using Bitcoin and Altcoins; and also for privacy and security reasons.
Consider that some of the wallets should be multisig.
Have fewer backups.
Multisignature wallets do not reduce the backups or make it fewer, instead it increases it. Let's say you have just one wallet, but it is a 2-of-3 multisignature wallet, you will need to back up three seed phrases and three master public keys, which invariably increases the backups.

After Harry Maguire will not captain Manchester United next season, now the main captain position will be held by Bruno Fernandes. I think Bruno Fernandes is the right player for this role and I hope he can be a confidant for his teammates on the pitch. Maybe in discussions with the referees he is very good, but when the team is in trouble I don't think he has the soul of a leader in those situations and often the player who can get a squad motivated again is Casemiro. I had thought that Casemiro would be the next main captain for Manchester United because he has a great leadership spirit, but it seems that Erik ten Hag has again appointed the captain of a player who has lasted quite a long time at this club.
Bruno Fernandes moans/complains quite a lot at his own players when things aren't going Manchester United's way, almost as if to pass off the blame to them and exonerate himself as the person giving his best to the team, i have seen him do that many times and i think it is a disgusting habit that leaves a lot to be desired.

I hope Fernandes works on his attitude now that he is captain, if he does not then he isn't a good captain imo. Having said that, i don't know if Maguire intends to remain in United, but if he does then it will confirm the fact that he's not an ambitious player and one that's just contented with being paid, it isn't just about him being stripped off the captaincy role, but the fact that the manager doesn't have him in his plans and he won't be getting any game-time next season, thus he shouldn't be comfortable with that.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 20, 2023, 12:55:14 PM
I can't possibly think of any positive in letting Xhaka and Partey leave in the same season. If depleting a midfield that almost won the league is not stupidity, I don't know what is. I have said it before, Arsenal should delay that Partey deal till January. You can't be making one step forward two steps backward. Arsenal will be involve in a lot of competition next season, they need every player to be available, Partey Jorginhno and Rice are good players to help them stay ahead in the coming season.
They cannot keep all of them, even if they want to, they have to sell some of their players to make money from them and to get them off their payroll. Arsenal signed Rice for a lot of money so they have to make money from selling players in order to balance their books. Having said that, with the arrival of Rice, playing time for Partey will also be reduced, thus the player himself would wish to go. Overall Arsenal are doing good business in the transfer window this summer and it will help them to be in contention for the EPL next season.
1018  Other / Archival / Re: Please delete my account on: July 19, 2023, 05:28:48 PM
If you have privacy concerns then you shouldn't do anything on the internet that can be linked to your real life identity, and you shouldn't also register on online forums with details that are connected to your identity in real life; because once you publish information about yourself on the internet, you can't completely erase it.

It is not possible to delete your account, but Theymos can only change usernames to "Anonymous" if a user requests and he thinks it is worth doing, you don't have too much data in this forum, so just log out and forget that you ever had an account on Bitcointalk.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 19, 2023, 04:44:59 PM
After failing to secure the league title last season as new Rivals Manchester City outplayed them and finished top of the table last season, the club has reacted well by investing hugely to boost the squad this summer. Arsenal now have another chance to compete for the league and every silverware next season. As Kai Harvertz has said that he is looking forward to winning a trophy with Arsenal next season.
TBH Arsenal are now looking like a purposeful club again, i love the manner in which they are going about their transfer business this summer, they are buying like a team that has the ambition of winning the EPL, this kind of mood has been missing around Arsenal for many years, but it was reignited after they came close to winning the league last season.

Having said that, whilst i don't think Arsenal are going to win the EPL next season, i think they are getting closer to winning it, and if they continue with this same drive and vision, they'll be champions again, sooner rather than later.

This one na better news for people wey dey use Binance, i know say Binance get their drawbacks wey mostly concern privacy, but person wey don already register for the platform no suppose bother about that one because them no get privacy again, so i no see any wahala if a Binance customer use the lightning network on the exchange.

E get plenty people wey been dey criticize Binance say dem never add Bitcoin lighning network as part of the services wey dem dey offer, so e good as dem add am, and i believe say now wey Binance don add am, many exchanges go also try add am in the future.
