701  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How African Students Became Victims of FTX’s Collapse.. on: October 19, 2023, 11:01:01 PM
SBF na better criminal and TBH i wish he is sentenced to a very long time in prison, so that e go fit serve as deterrent to other individuals like him in the crypto industry wey get businesses such as an exchange, them dey only care about the money wey dem go fit make, nothing concern them if dem lose people's money as they try to do that. SBF really destroyed quite a lot of people's lives

Research dey very important, because it is sad how people can take up this ambassadorial role in FTX without even understanding the risks, not to talk about the gullible people wey put their money there thinking they would become rich afterwards, dem no know say dem go fit lose their money at anytime. Take this lesssons wella oh, no dey give anybody financial advise and no carry your money put for exchanges, e dey too risky.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 19, 2023, 10:13:25 PM
Bellingham effect is really hard to deny of course. He has been playing extra since the beginning of the season. He is the main scorer of the team now.
Jude Bellingham is one of the best footballers in the world, and Real Madrid are lucky to have him, if they are to be successful this season, he'll definitely play a huge part in it. Having said that, i think it is still too early to conclude if Real Madrid are a better team with Benzema in it last season than they are now, i know they weren't really successful last season, they could only win the Copa del rey, but they have also not won anything this season yet.

Having said that, i think if Real Madrid don't get a striker in January, it might affect them when the season gets to its closing stages and every game becomes extra important, they are getting the goals now, but a time might come when they need an orthodox striker to get the job jone, i just think so, even though Jude Bellingham and his teammates could very well prove me wrong.
703  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: October 19, 2023, 08:22:52 PM
How can we even predict what is going to happen in the future, there are just so many options and the chances of picking the right one is somewhat slim. Bitcoin is something different from what we've experienced before, mind you that it wasn't created to be a "trading tool", it is money that should be spent, electronically. So many things will change about Bitcoin along the line, for one its supply reduces after every 210k blocks, Bitcoin will definitely get to the point where it wouldn't be as volatile as it is today, it would be fairly stable.

When that time comes, i don't think get rich quick traders (who want quick price swings) would be interested in it, most of the people who would be interested in Bitcoin then will do so because it is money, money that they can use and control, they'd use it because they can hide some of their financial life from the goverment and law enforcement, a couple of other people would also use it as a hedge; but i'm not so sure if traders would be on that list.
704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 19, 2023, 06:00:36 PM
If they only see that those property or personal items has been used for illegal maybe they can but as far as decentralized concern they cannot comfiscate from anyone until proven thats an evil money acquired from hacking or anything bad.
Mind you that even if the Bitcoin in a particular address is stolen, the government cannot seize it, unless the address is on a centralized platform, if the address is in a non-custodial wallet like Sparrow and you have the recovery phrase, it cannot be seized. The only thing law enforcement can do is to "flag" the address and declare the coins in it "tainted", they would pass this information on to centralized services, and if those coins ever gets to a centralized platform, it would be seized, but if the hacker is shrewd, they would use mixers and decentralized exchanges without kyc and they'll not be caught.

That's interesting! I don't think it's likely that CR7 Jr will play with his father as he's now 38 and his son is 13 - maybe by the time his son is 18 his father will have retired.
It is highly unlikely that they will play together, but i'm pretty sure it is their dream to do so. Ronaldo has had an unbelievable career, but at some point in the near future he would have to draw the curtain on his playing career, i know it is something that Ronaldo doesn't want to think about, because he loves playing football, but it is inevitable. He may not get to play with his son, but if he takes up a career in coaching or some other footballing role, then they might work together in the future.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 18, 2023, 11:01:32 PM
The Arsenal and Chelsea game is the one that most are looking forward to because on the one hand it could be the first serious sign of life for Chelsea if they win it, whereas on the other hand it could also underpin Arsenal's goals for the season.
A very important game for the two sides, Arsenal are just coming off the back of their statement win against the champions and treble winners, whilst Chelsea that has been enduring a horrible start to the season have finally started winning games, and they'd want it to continue. On current form, Arsenal is the stronger of the two sides, but it might not matter when the game starts, Pochettino knows that he and his team need to make a big statement that they aren't push overs; and what better way to do it than to beat Arsenal.

He is a good goalkeeper, he deserves a bigger club. Onana has no issues, he has just the worst setof defender's right before him.
Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and i don't consider Onana to even be a world class goalkeeper, thus i don't understand what you mean by he deserves a bigger club. Manchester United might not have a solid defense but there is no way you can use that to make an excuse for Onana, all the mistakes that he has made this season were all his fault personally, and it had nothing to do with his defenders, if Onana doesn't step up, the club would sign another keeper to replace him soon.
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 18, 2023, 08:05:56 PM
Bitcoins that are in addresses on centralized platforms can be seized, it has been said on this forum for a very long time that if it is not your keys, it isn't your coins, the government can issue an order for your Bitcoins to be seized if you have it under a centralized control. If your coins are in a non-custodial wallet, they cannot be seized. As for the government purchasing all Bitcoins, well, someone has to sell it to them, and if you are willing to sell your coins, there's definitely going to be a buyer and it can be anybody or any institution.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 17, 2023, 11:33:57 PM
After defeating Manchester City, Arsenal is more confident than before. I am very certain that Arsenal will defeat Chelsea  next week.
Arsenal's win against City was so important for them, they finally got to defeat City after such a long time and it will give them confidence in the league as well, they are strongly amongst the favorites to win the league this season. Arsenal ought to defeat Chelsea this weekend, but i am sensing an upset, everyone has already written Chelsea off in that game, we all think it should be an easy win for Arsenal, but maybe Pochettino's boys would spring a surprise in that game and come away with something from it, i'd keep my finger's crossed on that one.
710  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Electricity, No Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 10:45:22 PM
Epileptic power supply na long-standing problem for our country, every administration wey come dey always promise Nigerians better power supply, but dem dey always fail in doing that. The situation is so bad that we as Nigerians are now inure to the pains of epileptic power supply, and we just find a way to manage the situation, and that's exactly wetin OP go do.

Electricity is so important, so you have to power your house with your generator, you also have to buy more than one power bank and also prioritize devices that has a stronger battery life. If you cannot always buy fuel to use your generator, then you have to charge your devices in a friend's house or in public centers, this is exactly how an average Nigerian manages the situation.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 17, 2023, 09:48:13 PM
Raya is good but I also feel like Ramsdale also shouldn't be left out. I don't know into specifics of Raya deal with Brentford but I feel like getting Raya from Brentford won't be an easy one. Also we already have Ramsdale who was also doing a great job so we also wouldn't want to lose him if he feels like left out with lack of opportunities later on. I think Arteta needs to find a way to balance the chances for both the keepers so that everyone would be satisfied.
It is going to be extremely difficult for Arteta to balance the situation between the two goalkeepers, both of them want to number one and it is not possible, Ramsdale would have to make do with second spot and play in only cup games, he'd definitely not be happy with his current situation and if it continues i'd not be surprised if Ramsdale pushes for an exit in January. It's not possible to keep two great keepers in the same team for a long time.

I think i get why Arteta prefers Raya to Ramsdale, he is better with the ball and he picks his passes better, this loan deal will most possibly turn into a permanent deal and he will be Arsenal's number one.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 17, 2023, 05:07:24 PM
Does it mean NFT is a scam sector of crypto market, or is their concept good, but the execution of the projects are wrecking everything? Is it still possible for NFTs to recover their credibility?
NFT, just like ICO, IEO, and DEFI can only survive on hype, mind you that the majority of people who are interested in these schemes do so just because they want to make money, not because they were interested in its use case or in how to use it to improve the crypto industry, thus when the hype is over and scammers then take over, that would be the end of it. In the case of NFT's i wasn't expecting anything differently TBH.
713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A fun way to learn "How bitcoin works" on: October 17, 2023, 04:18:24 PM
And we will copy this ledger over thousands of different computers across the world so if someone says, John, didn't pay or they are trying to hack you, all we have to do is to look at all the other computers Around the world and we will see very quickly that this person is the one that wasn't playing fair and we can keep your money safe that way.
I don't know where you got this story from, but this part is not actually correct, this story can be misleading to newbies because the narrator erroneously sounds like nodes and miners are somewhat responsible for the coins you keep in your wallet. Yeah nodes are responsible for validating transactions and relaying it to others nodes, whilst miners find blocks and these blocks make up the blockchain. But mind you that they keep the Bitcoin network safe and not the Bitcoins in your personal wallet, thay also don't they act as mediators if you have a transaction dispute with someone. Bitcoin is a "be your own bank" network, thus you are responsible to keep your assets safe and ensure you are not sending it to scammers.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 16, 2023, 08:57:17 PM
Manchester United have been very inconsistent with their results since the start of the season and that has made many fans of the club to call for sack of their manager Erik Ten Hag as they think it's because of his lack of good tactical approach that has caused them the defeats they've suffered this season.
In any team, the manager is the one who gets sacked when the team is struggling, and Erik Ten Hag is definitely under pressure to deliver good performances for the team, if he continues failing to do that, then he will inevitably be sacked. Having said that, the manager cannot take all the blame, the players themselves also have to be responsible and do better, United is such a big club and it should be an honor to represent them, but these days quite a lot of Manchester United's players don't give it all their best, anyway it is still early to talk about sacking Erik Ten Hag and i am pretty sure the club would give him more time.
715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: October 16, 2023, 05:51:18 PM
I believe before wearing a signature, one must have the idea of what they are promoting if it is in line with their perspective or ideology so as not to get entangled in the process of promoting a project.as that should be enough reasons to get your
account  flagged in this system.
It is of course good to know and test what you are promoting, but how can your personal perspective/ideology get your account tagged, if at any point you no longer trust the project you are promoting or if it turns out to be a scam, you can basically just take off the signature and avatar, your account would only be tagged if you are promoting a scam project and refuse to take off the signature when it is obvious that the project is a scam, like 1xBit.
716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 15, 2023, 11:15:36 PM
There has been some drop in their form recently but it is no problem at all. I remember Manchester City having way worse times in one season and they were way behind the leader. But they still made an unforgettable comeback and won the title by a serious point gap.
City are used to winning the league from behind, they stay as close as possible to the top of the table, and once we get into the second half of the season, they hit top gear, start their long winning run, usurp whichever team in on top and then go on to win the league, they did it to Liverpool a couple of times and they did it to Arsenal last season.

Having said that, things might be different this season, but that is only if the other top clubs remain consistent, i am pretty sure there is no team in the league that wants City to win four in a row, but they have to stop them on the pitch, and we'd see how things pan out.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 15, 2023, 08:26:25 PM
Manchester City will once again dominate the Premier League if de Byrune returns to the squad.
But Kevin De Bruyne is out until early next year, thus if your logic is right, City will struggle until early next year, hell, if that happens they'll be out of the title race by then. Pep and City can cope without any player, but it's not possible to deny the fact that some players make them play a whole lot better, like KDB.

City have also missed Rodri greatly for the last three games, they lost all of them without him, he is back for the next game against Brighton, and that should give City a lift. Pep is a genius, thus i trust him to find a solution to their current problems. If the rest of the league is celebrating City's dip in form, they should know better because City come alive when it matters the most and they can go on long winning runs, they remain favorites to win the title for the fourth time in a row.

I don't know anything about this website you are trying to make purchase in, neither do i know much about the pi network (other than many people are mining Pi, thinking it'd be the next Bitcoin Tongue), nevertheless you shouldn't enter your seed phrase in any website or in anywhere at all. Only enter your seed phrase if you are attempting to import your wallet, and even then you must be careful of the software you are importing it into, you ought to verify it and do it offline if possble.

720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin censorship on: October 13, 2023, 05:03:57 PM
If these entities do the exact same thing banks do, why are stablecoins rising in popularity? Investors could lose it all in an instant without even knowing it (unless they check the blockchain, of course).
Stable coins are centralized and the issuers basically control everything about it, they can print as much as they want (even if it is backed by nothing), or they can freeze it in their customers' wallets if they have a reason to. Stable coins are growing in popularity because some people are ignorant of the risks that are associated with it, whilst others use it because they have to (especially traders). The thing is, irrespective of your reason for using stable coins; you should not hodl it for the long term, use it for whatever purpose you want and sell it for Bitcoins immediately after.
