681  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of this new scamming methods on: October 22, 2023, 08:14:11 PM
A scammer can try any sort of social engineering to make you click on their phishing link, so don't click on random links as we always say and once a stranger you're chatting with starts acting suspicious or in a way that feels too good to be true, it is better to discontinue the conversation and avoid chatting with such a person again.

You say you work as a community moderator for different projects, i hope you don't keep your assets on the same device you use for all these online stuffs, if you do; then move the majority of your funds offline, that is the first and most important step in protecting your funds from scammers.

Chelsea are slowly coming back to their senses. After the transfers made in the first six weeks and the change of manager, a good performance was expected from Chelsea, but after the seventh week Chelsea started to come back to their senses and started to make their fans happy.
Chelsea have slightly improved, nothing great, but at least something for their fans to cheer about. It is easy to see that this Chelsea team are yet to blend together, individually they have very good players, but they are pretty poor as a team. Chelsea ought to have made a big statement in beating Arsenal yesterday, but you could see how easy it was for Arsenal to get back in the game from two goals down (even if they were poor throughout the game).

This Chelsea team isn't capable of winning any trophy yet, or even make it into the top four, they have quite a lot of work to do if they are to return to their previous standards, and it would take a long while to get there.
683  Other / Meta / Re: Solution to account seller? I think on: October 22, 2023, 01:17:32 PM
Other than the fact that this has been tried before and didn't work out, who is going to set up the trap accounts? Moderators, admin or just any user? It is definitely going to cause more harm than good and i'm pretty sure one should have better things doing with their time than controlling "trap accounts" to catch account sellers/buyers.

It is quite difficult to hide forever from a bought account, some are even caught within the first few weeks after buying the account, i think this alone is a deterrent, because you risk spending a lot of money only to see the account tagged a few weeks later. I know that despite this, users still buy accounts, but only a few can manage to stay completely out of the radar and not be caught either due to change in posting style/pattern, language improvement or downgrade, etc

I feel international games are more aggressive than normal club side games.
No, they are not, players are getting injured because of the enormous number of games that are being played, players can get injured anywhere, either with their club side or with their national team, hell, they can even get injured in training. All footballing bodies must look into the number of games that players have to play every season, if it isn't reduced then the players will keep getting fatigued and injured more often, and by extension they'll have shorter careers.
685  Other / Meta / Re: Post/Thread Writing With AI - For Faster Signature Campaign Rewards - Easy & Fun on: October 20, 2023, 06:32:49 PM
To make forum life more easy and modern, posts and threads writing with AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) could be nice gift for all forum users. AI using in Bitcointalk forum can be also real life safer, when you need to make more posts/threads to receive the signature campaign awards.
Posting texts written by AI is plagiarism, thus how does posting what you didn't construct by yourself make the forum modern, using AI wouldn't get you any rewards from signature campaigns, but it'd get you banned anyway.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 20, 2023, 06:26:08 PM
Now Arsenal faces Chelsea who also has been coming back in form, I don't think it would be easy for Arsenal because Chelsea has now woken up and I think they have been playing well lately. Although if I was to bet on this my money would be on Arsenal.
Rodri was unavailable when Arsenal beat City, but it is definitely not an excuse, City should be able to cope without certain players, and what that means is that if they think they are lacking replacements in a particular department, they should go for reinforcements, and i really think they need another defensive midfielder in January.

Arsenal are in full confidence, but this game against Chelsea would be different from the one against City, in this game Chelsea are the underdogs and everyone expects them to lose, against City, Arsenal are not the favorites to win. Thus this can work in Chelsea's favor because they really do not have anything to lose, they basically have to go out there and execute their gameplan expertly, i'd give Chelsea a chance in this one, they are eager to make a statement and they might do that.
687  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You data is not safe on centralized exchanges on: October 20, 2023, 05:03:55 PM
Exchanges are not the only place where you have shared your data. Your social media handle, website that you use for working purposes even your children's school database nothing is safe. If your identity is shaved somewhere on the internet then there will always be a chance for it to be misused.
Of course you have an ID card, your data is with your government and other institutions in your country, the government could also work with your bank to confiscate the fiat in your bank account, or get any information about you from centralized services you have used in your country. But that is the "centralized world", and i think that if you have interest in Bitcoin, you would want to want to keep that aspect of your financial life away from the government by not using crypto centralized services.
Centralized exchanges usually don't share your data with any third parties and the purpose of that data is to prevent you from any illegal activities with your account. I am not seeing anything bad about it.
They can share that data with any third party that has the legal right to request for it, whether you are wanted for any illegal activity or not.
688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money can you make by investing in Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2023, 03:48:17 PM
Is investing in Bitcoin easy or complicated? Is it possible to achieve success by investing in Bitcoin? The main thing is how one can earn if he invests in Bitcoin and if he stays for a long time.
It is complicated if all you have in mind is getting rich quick, and easy if you know how and where to buy, where to keep it, operational security, and most of all if you know what exactly Bitcoin is.

You want to achieve success in something you do not understand, what sort of logic is that; change your perspective about Bitcoin and start asking the right questions, in order for you to learn about the network; if all you simply want to do is gamble your money in crypto, then maybe you should be looking in the direction of altcoins.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 20, 2023, 03:21:09 PM
Napoli is currently targeting an additional 3 points to be more comfortable in position 2 to accompany Real Madrid to qualify for the round of 16. Moreover, Napoli is very confident that Real Madrid will be able to beat Braga in the next match, so Napoli must also try to beat Union Berlin to maintain their chances.
Napoli and Real Madrid ought to qualify from that group, they are the two strongest teams and on paper they will make it to the RO16. The next two games are so crucial, because you face the same team home and away, Napoli will expect Real Madrid to beat Braga home and away, whilst they will have to get the job done against Union Berlin, if Napoli get all 6 points from that doubleheader, they'll all but be certain of going through. The wild card in that group looks to be Braga, and they might be the one to upset Napoli if they eventually fail to qualify as expected.
690  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How African Students Became Victims of FTX’s Collapse.. on: October 19, 2023, 11:01:01 PM
SBF na better criminal and TBH i wish he is sentenced to a very long time in prison, so that e go fit serve as deterrent to other individuals like him in the crypto industry wey get businesses such as an exchange, them dey only care about the money wey dem go fit make, nothing concern them if dem lose people's money as they try to do that. SBF really destroyed quite a lot of people's lives

Research dey very important, because it is sad how people can take up this ambassadorial role in FTX without even understanding the risks, not to talk about the gullible people wey put their money there thinking they would become rich afterwards, dem no know say dem go fit lose their money at anytime. Take this lesssons wella oh, no dey give anybody financial advise and no carry your money put for exchanges, e dey too risky.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 19, 2023, 10:13:25 PM
Bellingham effect is really hard to deny of course. He has been playing extra since the beginning of the season. He is the main scorer of the team now.
Jude Bellingham is one of the best footballers in the world, and Real Madrid are lucky to have him, if they are to be successful this season, he'll definitely play a huge part in it. Having said that, i think it is still too early to conclude if Real Madrid are a better team with Benzema in it last season than they are now, i know they weren't really successful last season, they could only win the Copa del rey, but they have also not won anything this season yet.

Having said that, i think if Real Madrid don't get a striker in January, it might affect them when the season gets to its closing stages and every game becomes extra important, they are getting the goals now, but a time might come when they need an orthodox striker to get the job jone, i just think so, even though Jude Bellingham and his teammates could very well prove me wrong.
692  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: October 19, 2023, 08:22:52 PM
How can we even predict what is going to happen in the future, there are just so many options and the chances of picking the right one is somewhat slim. Bitcoin is something different from what we've experienced before, mind you that it wasn't created to be a "trading tool", it is money that should be spent, electronically. So many things will change about Bitcoin along the line, for one its supply reduces after every 210k blocks, Bitcoin will definitely get to the point where it wouldn't be as volatile as it is today, it would be fairly stable.

When that time comes, i don't think get rich quick traders (who want quick price swings) would be interested in it, most of the people who would be interested in Bitcoin then will do so because it is money, money that they can use and control, they'd use it because they can hide some of their financial life from the goverment and law enforcement, a couple of other people would also use it as a hedge; but i'm not so sure if traders would be on that list.
693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 19, 2023, 06:00:36 PM
If they only see that those property or personal items has been used for illegal maybe they can but as far as decentralized concern they cannot comfiscate from anyone until proven thats an evil money acquired from hacking or anything bad.
Mind you that even if the Bitcoin in a particular address is stolen, the government cannot seize it, unless the address is on a centralized platform, if the address is in a non-custodial wallet like Sparrow and you have the recovery phrase, it cannot be seized. The only thing law enforcement can do is to "flag" the address and declare the coins in it "tainted", they would pass this information on to centralized services, and if those coins ever gets to a centralized platform, it would be seized, but if the hacker is shrewd, they would use mixers and decentralized exchanges without kyc and they'll not be caught.

That's interesting! I don't think it's likely that CR7 Jr will play with his father as he's now 38 and his son is 13 - maybe by the time his son is 18 his father will have retired.
It is highly unlikely that they will play together, but i'm pretty sure it is their dream to do so. Ronaldo has had an unbelievable career, but at some point in the near future he would have to draw the curtain on his playing career, i know it is something that Ronaldo doesn't want to think about, because he loves playing football, but it is inevitable. He may not get to play with his son, but if he takes up a career in coaching or some other footballing role, then they might work together in the future.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 18, 2023, 11:01:32 PM
The Arsenal and Chelsea game is the one that most are looking forward to because on the one hand it could be the first serious sign of life for Chelsea if they win it, whereas on the other hand it could also underpin Arsenal's goals for the season.
A very important game for the two sides, Arsenal are just coming off the back of their statement win against the champions and treble winners, whilst Chelsea that has been enduring a horrible start to the season have finally started winning games, and they'd want it to continue. On current form, Arsenal is the stronger of the two sides, but it might not matter when the game starts, Pochettino knows that he and his team need to make a big statement that they aren't push overs; and what better way to do it than to beat Arsenal.

He is a good goalkeeper, he deserves a bigger club. Onana has no issues, he has just the worst setof defender's right before him.
Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and i don't consider Onana to even be a world class goalkeeper, thus i don't understand what you mean by he deserves a bigger club. Manchester United might not have a solid defense but there is no way you can use that to make an excuse for Onana, all the mistakes that he has made this season were all his fault personally, and it had nothing to do with his defenders, if Onana doesn't step up, the club would sign another keeper to replace him soon.
697  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 18, 2023, 08:05:56 PM
Bitcoins that are in addresses on centralized platforms can be seized, it has been said on this forum for a very long time that if it is not your keys, it isn't your coins, the government can issue an order for your Bitcoins to be seized if you have it under a centralized control. If your coins are in a non-custodial wallet, they cannot be seized. As for the government purchasing all Bitcoins, well, someone has to sell it to them, and if you are willing to sell your coins, there's definitely going to be a buyer and it can be anybody or any institution.

After defeating Manchester City, Arsenal is more confident than before. I am very certain that Arsenal will defeat Chelsea  next week.
Arsenal's win against City was so important for them, they finally got to defeat City after such a long time and it will give them confidence in the league as well, they are strongly amongst the favorites to win the league this season. Arsenal ought to defeat Chelsea this weekend, but i am sensing an upset, everyone has already written Chelsea off in that game, we all think it should be an easy win for Arsenal, but maybe Pochettino's boys would spring a surprise in that game and come away with something from it, i'd keep my finger's crossed on that one.
699  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Electricity, No Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 10:45:22 PM
Epileptic power supply na long-standing problem for our country, every administration wey come dey always promise Nigerians better power supply, but dem dey always fail in doing that. The situation is so bad that we as Nigerians are now inure to the pains of epileptic power supply, and we just find a way to manage the situation, and that's exactly wetin OP go do.

Electricity is so important, so you have to power your house with your generator, you also have to buy more than one power bank and also prioritize devices that has a stronger battery life. If you cannot always buy fuel to use your generator, then you have to charge your devices in a friend's house or in public centers, this is exactly how an average Nigerian manages the situation.

Raya is good but I also feel like Ramsdale also shouldn't be left out. I don't know into specifics of Raya deal with Brentford but I feel like getting Raya from Brentford won't be an easy one. Also we already have Ramsdale who was also doing a great job so we also wouldn't want to lose him if he feels like left out with lack of opportunities later on. I think Arteta needs to find a way to balance the chances for both the keepers so that everyone would be satisfied.
It is going to be extremely difficult for Arteta to balance the situation between the two goalkeepers, both of them want to number one and it is not possible, Ramsdale would have to make do with second spot and play in only cup games, he'd definitely not be happy with his current situation and if it continues i'd not be surprised if Ramsdale pushes for an exit in January. It's not possible to keep two great keepers in the same team for a long time.

I think i get why Arteta prefers Raya to Ramsdale, he is better with the ball and he picks his passes better, this loan deal will most possibly turn into a permanent deal and he will be Arsenal's number one.
