1181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: whether investing in bitcoin many lose on: February 11, 2023, 05:26:00 AM
but is investing in bitcoin really safe or not? and do many lose from investing in bitcoin or not? I want to hear from all of you...
If by safe you mean guaranteed profits or no risk of loss, then there is no investment that is 100% safe.
If you do adequate research and understand the underlying value of Bitcoin, and plan out how to buy so you are not tempted to panic sell; you'll be able to hold till your desired profit range.

What causes people to lose is when they rush into investing as the price rises and panic to sell if it drops, cause it's a volatile market. Or when they invest more than they can afford to lose and eventually need that money soon after to settle real life problems.

and what is a good application for buying and selling crypto, and is it safe?..............
Bitcoin is a decentralized, immutable, unregulated form of transacting from one user to another. It frees one from the control of centralized authorities.
1182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we have mentors assign to you in this forum as your guiders? on: February 09, 2023, 01:03:27 PM
Yes I know there is provision for new accounts to be whitelisted by some chosen members for free. But why do new members have to go through all that at all.
It's a crude solution to a problem.
Ban evasion is against the rules, so when an account gets banned some units of evil is associated with the IP of that account, when the units of evil gets too high, all accounts created from that IP would be blacklisted and not be able to post, to discouraged banned accounts from creating new ones.

It is a poor solution cause banned users can find their way around the IP restrictions or pay the fee to enable posting on the account, but honest new members are unlikely to pay to use a forum they have never been on before and would even think they are being scammed.
Hence the users who can whitelist for free.

Alot of people will say that what is charged is nothing of much stress to those paying it because it is little payment but they forget that if gathered together that is a lot of cash.
You should not look at it that way.
If the admins were looking for ways to make money, they would not disale donations on the forum.
1183  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion clarification! on: February 09, 2023, 10:48:43 AM
Definitely ban evasion and the rules are pretty clear on it. The user probably had no idea how the forum rules worked, reason why they were banned and don't know about ban evasion.

It's obviously not allowed but I can see how someone could see the evil fee and take it as they're just paying a fine to abolish their ban or something.
This would only be possible if they have already tried to evade the ban. The ban message is clear and only directs one to send an email to appeal the ban.
The user would have to try to open a new account before they are asked to pay to remove the evil IP.

If it was to mean the ban would be abolished they would pay through their original account, no?

Sorry for your loss. Lessons like these are unfortunate but teach us to take extra care of your security and finances.

Hope you've messaged shasan and explained the situation to them? You're on a campaign and if you have some alternative source of income you plan out a repayment schedule and let them know if it's okay with them.
Wish you luck man.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we have mentors assign to you in this forum as your guiders? on: February 09, 2023, 10:29:09 AM
I will love to know if mentors are assign to guide us? over our posts to avoid violating the forum rules and regulations.
No there are no assigned mentors to guide anyone. You could always create a thread if you confused about something and have researched on it but gotten no answer yet, there would be lots of members willing to help out.
You can also use the PM option to ask questions, but I would not advice it, since you're new and members either cannot receive PMs from you or you could abuse the PM rules and get banned.

But there is an evil fee paid upon registration as a penalty for an alleged IP crime. Without paying that fee you can not post from that account. What is that for or you have not heard of anything like that?
There is a way to bypass that if you're a totally new user, as some members, including myself, have whitelisting privileges.
1186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the two most effective pieces of advice you could give crypto investors on: February 08, 2023, 08:10:47 PM
• Do not get complacent. After spending a couple of years on this space it's easy to take security of your bitcoins for granted and expect you can make no mistakes. Always keep learning and discovering more ways to protect yourself.

• Not your keys; not your coins. Coins in an exchange does not belong to you, they belong to the exchange and they only choose to allow you spend it if they wish. Always have your coins in a wallet you own the private keys to and have your seed backed up.
1187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Auto-Delete Bots on Bitcointalk? on: February 08, 2023, 07:59:08 PM
There are no Auto delete bots on bitcointalk, but maybe there should be.

Your thread was thrashed by the mods, that's why you got no notification about the deletion. There is usually a message for replies and threads that are deleted permanently, but if it's thrashed, it can be reversed at a later time, and no deletion notification is sent out.

For reference, here is the deleted thread

I'm writing from a place of hurt.
Mods act on their discretion and reports. Many users here have had a couple of deleted threads and replies, spammers more than others.
Just familiarize yourself with the forum rules more.
1188  Other / Meta / Re: can i get banned for image repost.. on: February 07, 2023, 09:53:54 PM
There is no definite stance on image plagiarism. It's unethical to copy someone else's work, be it a text, image, table or graph and present that as yours without any reference to the original author,  but it would likely not get you a ban.

It is less straightforward to get the original source of an image or video, so it usually isn't checked on the forum. If you're still confused, then just reference where you got it from.
1189  Other / Meta / Re: Why was the Turkey donation thread deleted? on: February 07, 2023, 09:25:51 PM
Here's the thread for anyone willing to go through it - https://loyce.club/archive/posts/6171/61718523.html

I have no idea why the thread was deleted on first glance. Most likely scenario is that it was reported and the mods agreed with the comments of the report, therby deleting the post. The user could try opening a new thread and checking if it gets deleted too.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be a successful trader? on: February 07, 2023, 09:08:04 PM
I love your advice and courage, but my question is were can some one lean or acquir this skill from is it from this forum or some were ealse,
The forum is little it no good in helping one to acquire trading skills. At best we have moderate discussions about price fluctuations and the possible causes, but nothing too Technica on how to reach charts and candlesticks.

You can take a course on crypto trading and take out lots of time to practice what you have learnt.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Rally around the Bitcoin Flag, there can be no competitors! on: February 07, 2023, 08:40:40 PM
It is only unstoppable until it is stopped and I can think of a few ways that it can be stopped. <snip>
Even in that hypothetical situation, Bitcoin would still function as a P2P asset. Governments could try to clamp down on holders and exchanges, but can do nothing if Mr Bob wanted to transfer some BTC from his non custodian wallet to that of Mr Joe.

If you focus on the market value, governments can slow that by making in more difficult t use and driving away the majority of investors, but they can not alter the immutability ov decentralization of the network.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen calls it a "mistake" to trust CSW on: February 07, 2023, 08:33:42 PM
This is another reminder that we should all learn to always verify what we read, regardless of the expertise or reputation of the person saying it. Someone could be extremely smart and savvy in an area, and make rookie errors in another, or they could be bought over.

Do not be "influenced" by the opinion of others regardless how highly you rate them; Always Verify.
This edit by Gavin Andresen is more like putting band aid over a deep tissue cut. There is a lot more that could be said to further distance himself from the idea that Craig Wright is Satoshi and categorically call it a lie.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin? openAI ChatGPT edition on: February 07, 2023, 07:03:47 PM
I expected that there would but be much of a difference between the explanation for a 25 year old and a 50 year old, considering that at the former, you have maxed a lot of your cognitive abilities and should be able to maintain a level of consistency going forward.

But I guess with the addition of 'traditional currencies', it shows how older people would be more likely fixated on the old system and transition slower than younger ones.

The first explanation (for 5yr old) quite contradicts the rest of the definitions... It's important to be always consistent with facts.
How does the first explanation contradict the others?
1194  Other / Meta / Re: HELP PLEASE on: February 06, 2023, 10:37:14 PM
I sent 0.00152157 BTC for a copper membership but they asked me to add 0.00000711 BTC which is about 0.18 USD. I don't know why.
This is because the current rate for Cooper membership is 0.00152868.
This could have occured due to the drop in the Bitcoin price which causes the rates for payments on the forum to adjust inorder to maintain a certain amount range.

The solution here is sending above the required balance so the transaction can be initiated or getting another wallet which allows you transact much lower amounts. It's a lot of hassle for such a small amount (and it would be cool if the admins could wave it off), but it might be necessary if you're currently using an exchange wallet for storage, which is the likely reason you cannot send such small amounts.
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 06, 2023, 10:20:49 PM
I am doing this for my own safety and to continue with my business. They are putting people in jail if they know we possess crypto.
This answers your question. If your safety and security is compromised, then you should halt all public transactions in cryptocurrency until a more convenient time to allow it as a payment option.

Bitcoin is decentralized, but we as citizens of certain regions have to conform as much as possible to existing laws and regulations.
1196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduction Of self as Sandra99 on: February 06, 2023, 06:54:22 PM
I joined bitcointalk.org to learn more about the industry, connect with like-minded individuals, and to share my own knowledge and experiences. I look forward to participating in meaningful discussions and contributing to the community in any way I can.
You are among the right bunch of people, but there are also a bunch of scammers and spammers around. Your first task is knowing how to filter through the bunch of spam and find actual content which would benefit your Bitcoin journey.

One way is to filter based on rank, but this doesn't always work as high ranked members could be spammers and newbies could provide helpful discussions. But filtering by earned merit could work as well. You can also just read content and verify them yourself before internalizing anything. This works with the Bitcoin ideology of verifying and not trusting.
Read through posted links. The forum has a repertoire of information, you only need to discover them.
The search option would be useful in this task.

Good luck on the forum!
1197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 05:19:40 PM
Your text is almost intelligible, so I'll focus on the topic title;

Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin?
Yes you can, you can pretty much do whatever you want with your money.
Should you however is a different question and I would consider it unwise to invest that amount into an asset.
That's was more than you can afford to lose.
Is this your live savings or amounts you've been keeping aside for investments?
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ark Investment lanches report Big Ideas 2023: bitcoin price above 1mi in 2030 on: February 06, 2023, 05:16:00 PM
It's been a while I heard about trust funds and corporate enterprises getting into Bitcoin, such as Grayscale and Microstrategy, so I'll be researching on Ark investment.

About their big ideas report, would download and read it at a later time, but judging from the infographic you added in the op, I hope it's not centered on price prediction? Most reports that focus on predicting what the price is going to be are made just for headlines and clicks without talking about the actual product behind the value.
1199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be a successful trader? on: February 06, 2023, 05:05:28 PM
I am trying to learn something new every moment. But in some places I have some difficulty in understanding, hope I will understand those things with time.
If some of the basic lessons are proving difficult, you should put off investing actual money unin you have gotten a hang of it. This doesn't mean you must learn everything before starting off as even the most experienced traders still learn regularly, but you should have a grip of the fundamentals.

Also, trading is not for everyone. There are many skills that one can learn and if you do not really have the interest in something but only want to do it cause you heard it's profitable, chances are you would not be successful at it.
1200  Economy / Reputation / Re: Multiple accounts (Two Accounts Linked) on: February 06, 2023, 04:23:59 AM
Move this thread to reputation board. You can do so by clicking "move topic" at the bottom left of the page.

There is no forum rule against multiple accounts, but most campaigns make it against their rules. If they have both joined any if sub canoaignsz then leave a negative tag on the account with this thread as the reference.
