ixcoin is dead since it still has Thomas' original stink attached (i.e. premined coins).

SolidCoin traded at a high of .49 BTC, just a few hours later it's worth .0014 BTC
Pretty much the same as I0coin and Ixcoin now.

I just had a contraversial prediction: parity accross the board
Sounds about right. Wait a week or so for a new, trivially-"improved" fork to be released, or for the speculators to just lose interest outright; SolidCoin will be back down to Ixcoin levels. Namecoin will probably stay up for a while longer, until merged mining is implemented, at which point the surge in supply will crash the price. +1 We will see though. |

Hey smoothie, I have several thousand testnet coins. I'll sell them to you for .001 BTC/per. Maybe you can turn around and scam someone out of .002/per if you are wise about it.

This fork seemed rather interesting until I decided to try it and promptly hit that issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong but bitcoin uses wxwidgets-2.9 as well. It may have that statically linked in the distributed binary, but there's only a server version precompiled for Linux for SolidCoin... If I want to directly interact with it I have to compile from source. Which happens to be something that would waste most of a day if I have to go track down that many version dependencies to build the absolute latest version of wxWidgets. To say nothing of the potential conflict annoyances I get with how many of the distribution packages then need to be overridden. If he's going to make the package extremely time-consuming and difficult to self-compile on a very commonly used distribution, he shouldn't be refusing to give binaries for it... He is refusing? |
