541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 17, 2023, 11:56:31 PM
Talking to myself and if I'll promise that, I can do that but not easily I think.

People may experience what is commonly known as a "winning phase," in which they initially succeed and even meet their financial goals. However, maintaining those winnings over the long term can be difficult, which may lead to further gambling in an attempt to replicate them.
That's right, when someone who's got a huge winning and he wants to maintain that. The same routine again by tomorrow that he'll start to gamble, place some bets and put an amount on the bankroll on how much he's willing to spend.

And then, not the same result, losing, losing bets and money and that's the start of it that someone might lose everything that he's gained.
Repeating the same with expectation as the past is a major reason that ends in massive loss. Gambling is kinda fun with certain expense. We should have the ability to bear it. If not we should understand the limits and spend. We don't follow this, because of the hope and the dream of turning small money into big. When it comes to quit gambling, it is simple and easy thing if your mind is ready for it.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How the casino takes money from you with a deposit bonus on: June 16, 2023, 11:58:08 PM
You guys have been gambling for years are going to go way over the rollover amounts. Why in the world would you pass up a bonus unless you are going to hit and run and not gamble for the rest of your life. If you get a 100% bonus then you double your ROI. You will stay in the game much longer with a bonus.

that is, if you know also how you can prolong your game without busting your bankroll. most of the time you will also the deposit bonus because you need to meet your wagering requirements.
The person having good backup can prolong his wagering activities. Just with little amount it is really hard, but I don't say it isn't possible. Myself have got into these kind of wagering just with few dollars as bet and rolls above 2. Here the percentage of losing is small, yet the luck decides whether our expectations can be fulfilled or not.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 16, 2023, 07:48:22 PM
Poverty is kind of lack in money. How does it happens? Mostly due to the financial policies and other governance factors that favour the growth of specific group of people and not the bottom end. When money gets accumulated in few hands automatically there'll be high imbalance in the financial distribution. This improper governance cause various problems at the bottom level, particularly the cost of living, unemployment, improper salary, lack of benefits from the government, etc. Poverty can be ended only if the governments make plans and work on it. Different countries have different scale to measure poverty.

Asia Cup groups were revealed. India, Nepal and Pakistan falls under one group 1. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan comes under the group 2. This makes the matches very interesting as India vs Pakistan match will be promoted big by the media. Nepal have improved much and hope this helps have good cricket with India and Pakistan.

In the second group, we can expect Sri Lanka to be on the top position. Bangladesh and Afghanistan will have similar odds which will keep things challenging to take the second position on the group.

Zakir Hasan got out some time back and now Bangladesh are at 202/2. They are scoring at close to 6 runs per over and currently have a lead of 438 runs. In all probability, they will make the declaration in the next 15 overs or so and ask Afghanistan to bat again with a target of ~550 runs. Afghan bowlers are looking completely out of sorts. Amir Hamza is the only one who got a wicket till now and Bangladeshi batsmen are treating all the other bowlers with absolute disdain. Najmul Hossain Shanto is inching towards his century (in the first innings he made 146).

Its lunch on Day 03 of this test match and Bangladesh now lead by 491 runs. I wonder how long will they bat or if they have a plan to break some records as still a lot of time left in this test match.
Najmul Hossain Shanto is again playing a superb inning and is not out at 112 runs. Bangladesh are 255/2 and I think they should declare the innings when Najmul Hossain gets out and give him a chance to complete maybe his 200 in this innings:Smiley

146 in first innings and now not out on 112, Najmul Hossain Shanto is having one of the best test match of his life. Bangladesh lead by 491 runs now, bowling of Afghanistan is somewhat reasonable in first innings but now in second innings they are unable to pick wickets and Bangladesh batsmen are scoring runs quite easily. Despite such performance I still support that Afghanistan and Ireland must be given more test matches to learn more about this format.

Najmul Hossain Shanto became the second Bangladeshi player in the history who score two centuries in a single game. I just hope that this list of performances will go longer in day by day. At the moment, Bangladesh lead by 526 runs, a good collection so far. With such a strong collection of runs, Bangladesh should win the one-off test against Afghanistan. While it would be great if Afghanistan could put up a good fight, which is unlikely to happen. In fact, it may turn out to be a big disappointment for them. Yes, Afghanistan should be given more opportunities to play in test matches. As newcomers in the test culture, it's important plat more matches and level up their skills.
Earlier it was Mominul holding the record of scoring century in both the innings of a test match. Now Shanto have got added to the record list. An awesome game from Shanto with strike rate above 80. Bangladesh have lead by 543 runs with the second innings score of 307/4. Afghanistan doesn't have any chance of win/draw the match. The team can plan something and fight hard, considering the first innings performance Bangladesh would finish the game earlier.

it seems that the new girlfriend didn't bring luck to Tsitsipas Roll Eyes that has lost today in 3 sets against Gasquet.
He gave to me the impression of being tired like at the end of a tournament Roll Eyes , in short, not the Greek we know, but "green" probably isn't his favorite surface....
If he had won the first set, then the match might've got turned. Tsitsipas made a good comeback in the second set with an easier win. He couldn't do well in the third set which looked like Tsitsipas will win the match. As said he's tired. The first set could've made him so tiresome. Anyhow Gasquet had a good day and hope his win continue against Struff amidst the odds favouring Struff.

United States of America vs Ireland
Not even this match. Yesterday 5 matches have been played of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Warm-up Matches.
United States of America vs Ireland (Ireland won the match)
Netherlands vs Srilanka (Srilanka won the match)
United Arab Emirates vs Nepal ( UAE won the match)
Zimbabwe vs Oman (Zimbabwe won the match)
West Indies vs Scotland (West Indies won the match)
One among that is the match between Nepal and UAE. In the match Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first. It made decent runs from the beginning. Finally scored 275 runs losing every wickets in 49.5 overs. UAE started their innings and reached the target and won the match in 49.5 overs losing 7 wickets. Really great performance from the middle order of UAE, particularly from Rohan, Rameez Shahzad, Asf Khan and Ali Naseer. Earlier both the teams faced in the ACC Premier League final and Nepal won it by 7 wickets.

Amidst the absence of Rashid Khan in the team, Afghanistan team is with good confidence winning the match. After a big gap the team is playing test cricket. More than two years gap and Rashid Khan is given rest after the IPL season. Earlier both the teams played test match in the same ground during the year 2019. Afghanistan won the match and this could've given more confidence to the team.

On the other side Bangladesh were very clear, not to take Afghanistan team easily. They've said it'll really good to continue our winning. Same as that Bangladesh team is performing well amidst the early wicket fall. The team is maintaining good run rate and have scored 119/1 in 26 overs.

The much popular Ashes Series starts within two days. First test to be played in Edgbaston. Australia after the WTC win will be strong to contend against the English team. It looks like Australia have the same squad played in the WTC. England team squad can't be guessed, spinner Jack Leach is out of the series due to injury. The place is getting filled by Moeen Ali who is getting into test cricket after his retirement announcement that took place two years back. Lets see does his inclusion could make big support to the team and captain Ben Stokes is much positive in winning against Australia.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 14, 2023, 03:10:42 AM
It's not a question of right or wrong. He's already 36 yo and can't hold a captaincy for a long due to his age and everyone is looking at the next WTC cycle, he'll be 38 by then.

He also can't play all 3 formats anymore, he has to choose his poison and drop other formats, possibly ODI(after WC) and T-20 (not IPL tho), then maybe there is a chance of him extending his test career for 2 more years.

It's the same for every senior player, who is in mid 30. Everyone makes a way for new blood so nothing new. It's part of the transition process and management needs to think about it now as you don't want to face a situation where your all senior players taking retirement at the same time.

These players in their mid-30s and late 30s can't play all the three formats and then also get involved in the IPL. They need to make a choice. If they want to take part in IPL, let them do that. I have mentioned this a few times - BCCI need to have separate squads for limited overs and test cricket. At this point only a few players such as Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane concentrate fully in the longer format. India do have the talent pool to create separate squads for different formats and domestic players such as Sarfaraz Khan and Abhimanyu Easwaran can be included in the test squad.
This is the internal politics that is happening with cricket. I don't know how far it is true, but there is an unwritten rule that Mumbai players need to be given priority in captaincy, and it is a must to have Mumbai players included in every format of cricket. BCCI have enough players and there is more of community based politics. Slowly this have been getting ruled out. It takes time for BCCI to do these kind of reforms and give opportunity to more players. Sports and politics should never be mixed, when this happens the cricket in India will progress better than now.

Venus Williams had a good comeback set in the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships, but she wasn't able to win the match. Since January it is the first match played by Venus Williams. Started good with a winning set 6-3 against the young Swiss player Naef. Later in the second set she had a tough fight and the tie breaker ended in favour of Naef 77-63. The third set was easily won by Naef 6-2. Venus Williams expected to reach atleast to the quarter finals have ended so early.
552  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of artificial intelligence, chat GPT on the crypto market. on: June 13, 2023, 11:51:59 PM
AI technology, which is now being developed more and more, is of course aimed at efficiency in business, many developers think that human labor has an expensive price, so the best solution at this time is to replace it with AI and ChatGPT, which is the beginning of a human workforce disaster.
When we are talking or emphasising on artificial intelligence we are talking of technology, and it's quite alright that artificial intelligence is like a tool people apply in order to make their work faster and easier, I think this is one of the functions of artificial intelligence, so I believe that technology is what everyone is depending on.
well while we can follow the development of technology itself then it will be fine. but if we can't adapt and also don't learn much about the development of technology itself, then this can result in fewer job opportunities that we can get. Because without us realizing it, slowly now all types of work are relying more and more on technological advances, especially on the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence. So that we should not be left behind in learning every advancement in the field of technology if we don't want to be left behind.
From my understanding and observation you can see that embracing much more of technology functions in the world they will be lesser employment opportunities, using banking system as illustrations, before when you go to the bank you sell a lot of bank staffs but right now the numbers of employees has reduces drastically due to perfect function of technology applications, so using artificial intelligence which is a technology has advantages and disadvantages, the advantages is that it will make your work faster or speed up your functions above your expectations, while the disadvantages is that the technology can fails and give inaccurate results and also reduces employment opportunities, from my findings in artificial intelligence I can't kick against the technology because technology what makes this world to be civilize.
This is the hard truth, banks had special counters for withdrawal and deposit. Now with technology deposit/withdrawal machine along ATM does almost every function. In the past we used to have separate counter to have the bank account book printed with the transactions. Now the same is being done by a machine which needs to be used on our own. As said there will be loss of job opportunities, but it all depends on the people involved with the business taking advantage of the technology. As in the previous post, it is just a tool that help in ease out of human work. The same when tried to replace human work force is really a negative thing about the innovation. However beyond some point we need to get adopted to it.

The age group 7-11 is too early to be taught about bitcoin. The approach is really welcoming, but let them be distributed with the books and it is their interest whether to go through and raise questions to know more about it. It is the time period for them to have the enjoyment discussing about more stories beyond finance based learning.

Even at this age kids never think of money and we should not indulge the importance of money from the beginning, they need to understand that there is more things in life that are important than money.

Pakistan A Women VS Nepal Women

I checked the T20 match result between the Pakistan A women's team vs Nepal women's team. Pakistan A women's team players lost 10 wickets and set a target of just 88 runs. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar scored the highest 28 runs for Pakistan. He collected only 28 runs off 36 balls. However, the interesting thing is that the Nepal team could not win the match even after batting for only 88 runs. They were defeated by 9 runs.

In women's cricket, the performances of every team except Australia and England have been erratic. I thought India's women's team was very strong. But we don't see consistently good performances from the India women's team either. Women's cricket is not popular because most of the teams are weak.
It is not about the teams that are weak. It is all about the importance given to the women's team. Earlier we used to see the average scores to be around 250 runs on ODI. With the existence of IPL the scoring pattern itself changed and the ODI average got increased and now 300+ runs can be seen quite often with the matches. This is the transition, and similar transition in women's cricket takes time. Countries that have got good domestic setup are at their best position. This will change over time, as the women's cricket is at its very beginning stages of progress in most of the countries.

Underwear? Lol. This is easily one of the funniest typos that I have ever observed anywhere.
lol Smiley, fixed...

Looks like Rohit might get replaced as the test captain in the near future based on information from various sources. Dravid might also get sacked since he hasn't really helped the team achieve much so far.
If Rohit does get replaced, I hope Ashwin gets a shot or Kohli should return since these two have great leadership qualities.

I would actually prefer to see Virat Kohli instead of Ashwin as the test captain of India. Virat Kohli has better experience and he is also performing pretty decently right now. So I believe they can give him a chance. I firmly believe that he will be able to captain the team. Well instead of Ashwin.

The decision of replacing Rohit is probably the right decision at this moment. The India captaincy needs a change right now. And on top of that Rohit is not able to achieve incredible success as well.
Virat Kohli can be given the captaincy, but it is to be noted that in most of the matches he played as the captain his performance is down. He himself had mentioned it as more responsibility and it disturb his real performance out of pressure. For this reason I find Ashwin to be the best choice against Virat. Rohit have got the ability, but his performance is really worse and he needs some break. More players queued and Rohit isn't performing to the expectation will surely be tough for the selectors.

United States of America vs Ireland
/Snip
The American side stunned everyone with an outstanding performance by their skipper and middle order batsmen hitting 77 and 89 runs respectively in a highly anticipated world warm up game between the USA and Ireland. Despite their best efforts Ireland won the match by five wickets after successfully chasing down the USA lofty 312 run mark. Harry Tector who played an amazing innings and scored a remarkable 149 runs off just 127 balls was the match standout performer. Lorcan Tucker also contributed significantly scoring 68 runs off of 59 balls. I would like to congratulate Ireland on their outstanding performance in which they demonstrated their batting prowess and earned a well earned victory.
I am completely surprised after seeing today's match. I never imagined that the United States of America would score so big against Ireland again.
And yes, United State of America's middle order batsmen did a great performance today, especially Aaron Jones and Monank Patel. If the runs of both of them are added to the total, it becomes almost half of the runs of the match.
When I first saw the match between Ireland and United State of America I thought from the beginning that USA is going to lose today, but their batting performance surprised me today anyway USA lost this match but I think the performance was great.
How ever the batting performance of usa was just awesome but the bowing performance of USA as the just opposite of batting performance and I think that loosing this match is only cause is that.
Ireland won the toss and decided to bowl. The best have come out of USA and Ireland. The bowling performance from USA isn't upto the mark, overtime we can see improvement. Harry Tector was really good and scored 149* runs which were really important in chasing the target of 312 runs. The best part, Ireland used to have similar conditions of play against other teams and now USA have done the same against Ireland. This means in a previous match against Bangladesh, team Ireland scored 319 runs in 45 overs and lost it due to poor bowling. There is improvement in bowling from both Ireland and USA.

Everyone wants their life to have changes. To some extent it is all about the money that makes people happy. Beyond certain point the person himself will be in pain and fear, how to safeguard those earnings. People never have the fulfillment and there will be very few exceptions. The bad part of money, it getting accumulated within very few people of the world. It is true that they had earned it through their innovation and development, but it is not good for the economy in any means. The individual growth is not the real growth of the country.
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: June 12, 2023, 11:34:35 PM
These days people want things to be taken pride. Even for that reason they completely reveal everything without having anything as secret. Nowadays social media main purpose is to inform to the World what you're doing. When you plan for a trip enroute to so and so location. This gives the thief, that there is no one available in the house and makes use of the opportunity.

The incident mentioned in the opening post have got the similar connect. We should share the information, which can trigger the person to learn and use it in the future. Here everything have gone upside down, so we should have the mind to know about the person better before sharing information. If you find him/her different just give hints and never expose yourself.

I've lost bitcoin out of greed. The mistake is completely on me, and took place many years back. If I've kept hold of those bitcoin, now it could've turned more valuable. Came across a multiplier scheme in which we need to download a software and run it, sending the bitcoin to specific address and it gets multiplied. Never thought it to be a scam and lost big money around 0.05BTCwhich in today's market is very big.

It all depends on the person and his ability to control his mind. When one wins jackpot with which one can have life changing moment as well lead his rest of life will surely allocate certain amount for his future gambling need. If he lost the allocated amount, surely he'll take from the rest of the winning and gamble. This is the reality and myself too experienced it not on winning jackpots, but on winning small amounts that are really big to me. It is really hard to quit, once we've got used to it. Over time the learning will make him take a decision and get fixed to it.
