1361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2022, 11:13:43 PM
While generally safer, it still carries risk with it, although with that time-frame you could easily bypass any such losses along the way since you will not sell during those periods anyway. Also, if you're planning to invest long-term, your buy-in on the crypto you wanted will be averaged, so that once you decided to sell all of those you'll easily get an idea whether to sell it now for less profit or keep on holding on. Risks will always be there, though time acts as a cushion to dampen the fall IMO if the crypto you invested in turned out not to be as good as you initially expected it to be.
Long term holding gives an outlook of being on the safer side, yet there's risk as mentioned. The market is completely unpredictable, which could drag the market bullish or bearish in no time. So, if we've invested at the peak then sure this is going to be high risk even at the bullish market. Based on how we react to market changes the goodness of the market can be experienced.
1362  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Mobius Prediction Bitcoin could hit $10k at 2023 on: December 04, 2022, 11:09:38 PM
If what he said comes true, I will be happy to wait for it because it is a golden opportunity to buy more bitcoins. I don't know him but I will take part by buying bitcoin again. The potential for bitcoin to go higher is huge in the future. So we can buy bitcoin at a lower price than now, that is our advantage and we can see how its value will grow in the future. We should not panic if the price drops to $10k so people don't sell their bitcoins but use them to increase their bitcoins.
Myself too doesn't know him. Based on the discussion it looks like he's an expert in predicting the market. As mentioned the chances of price reaching $10k is high, based on the halving scheduled for the year 2024. With the same in mind it is good to stay positive amidst the regulation and other issues arise relative to cryptocurrency.
1363  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks are changing ..... Bitcoin should wake up and innovate more! on: December 04, 2022, 11:05:40 PM
Changing according to the need of the people is a must that needs to be followed. Banks are in its transformation phase. Some even tried to make advancement using blockchain technology. In different ways the change is happening around. Banks have experienced the highest growth over the years. We don't know whether this is out of the changes or happening out of the market situation. At some point soon we can expect majority of the banks to function together with bitcoin.

How's betting $8 on 6 different matches in the #FIFAWorldCup and winning $1,000 🤯

This bettor would be the only one who could tell us how it feels 😅

Precise prediction on the result of the match, this is completely unfortunate and lucky for him. If not the bet should've ended by the second match Cameroon vs Brazil in which majority of the prediction were in favour of Brazil and he had done the right pick. $1000+ out of $8 bet from sports betting is really a big thing to watch.
1365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 04, 2022, 04:28:10 PM
Bangladesh won the Bangladesh vs India ODI match.  Bangladesh win against India is an unimaginable achievement.  The performance of Bangladesh in the ODI match is very good as Bangladesh has won in a span of four overs by defeating a strong team like India.  Bangladesh's Nazmul Hasan Shanto has played absolutely badly as he is 0 run house.
Today's victory will be recorded in the history of Bangladesh. No fan of Bangladesh could believe that Bangladesh will win this match. First of all I think there is destiny of the creator behind winning today's match. After that unique achievement if desired to Mehdi Miraj and Mustafizur Rahman. Their partnership ensured victory for Bangladesh.
When India finished the innings it looked to be an easy win for Bangladesh as the target is 186 runs. When Bangladesh started to bat, slowly India had a comeback and took the match into control. Finally it was Mehidy Hasan who played good at the right time and without Mustafizur Rahman Bangladesh would've lost the match. It is history and it once again shows that small teams are progressing good.
1366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Must it be the last game? on: December 04, 2022, 04:13:07 PM
I laughed hard a bit after reading this because if you say you gamble, then this is one of the problems among others to be expected. You can decide to shorten the count of games you bet on, and most importantly bet on games you are most sure to win. I think the games that end up cutting off the winning streak are those you made a wild guess about. Whatever be the reason however, if you haven't won any bets so far, ever considered the possibility that you probably were meant to focus the energy on finding other money making ventures.
Shortening the number of games is the best way to make success out of the prediction. Almost every sports betting person would've experienced it. When the bet amount is small it doesn't hurt us, when we go with cent percent assurance on winning the bet and go for big bets disappointment is the final result.
1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is the most Preferred Choice on: December 04, 2022, 03:56:07 PM
Op have added information about the technical features of bitcoin against other cryptocurrencies that make bitcoin superior. This won't be the understanding with most of the people. Majority of the users have it on the preferred list for the growth it have achieved over the years. Another thing, the track record with stabilized growth even after hard crashes happening in the market.

There are more cryptocurrencies that have provided with better ROI for the investors. However they weren't able to do it in a consistent manner. More cryptocurrencies that got into existence during the days of bitcoin have gone out of the market, but Bitcoin leads the market.
1368  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: December 01, 2022, 10:59:53 PM
I don't know if it's Russia's test for the EU, but in terms of military capabilities, I don't appreciate the EU because they depend on the US, they can't do anything without the US, the US is like a babysitter. But anyway the story of 2 rockets is over and without any countermeasures happening otherwise we will see WW3.

Yesterday there was a statement from Führerin Ursula von der Leyen that Ukraine has lost more than 100,000 soldiers till now (killed, not including those who are wounded or captured). None of the other NATO members (perhaps with the exception of United States and Turkey) can afford this many casualties. In other EU nations, they can't even afford a few thousand casualties. When UK armed forces suffered a few hundred casualties in Afghanistan, there was a lot of hue and cry in that country. The same will be the case in other EU nations as well.
Both the country people are experiencing the worse scenario. Russia isn't ready to end the war. Atleast NATO have mentioned no nuclear war and failing would make the country face the consequences. The war have setback big economic difficulty as both the countries are huge exporters of food and oil. Ukraine exports half the world's sunflower oil requirement. Human lives have turned valueless, if not wider thinking could've concluded the war.
1369  Economy / Economics / Re: UAE further collaboration with India for Local Currency Trade on: December 01, 2022, 10:30:02 PM
Certainly there's going to be a great economic impact as the Bank of India (BOI) partner deals to collaborate with United Arab Emirates (UAE) in creating an friendly synergy that could bring them both on achieving a common economical trade between the regions using their local currencies altogether in achieving a common goal, just as it could be recalled that recently, the two parties have been engaging on a mutual trade base on the MoU signed together sometimes earlier n the beginning of this year https://twitter.com/GoldTelegraph_/status/1597060306470985730?t=sJuiWnNHIyzeFe9tVsQAJw&s=19 this free economic trade has ever been the cause to thier cordial relationship that further births to what we are seing today as they both have also agreed in trading together using their own local currencies, it is also notably that India and UAE are part of the fastest growing economics in the world including their involvements in the digital era of cryptocurrency and bitcoin, which will further create an expansion opportunity for the growth of their economy both, could other countries learn something from this, and is the collaboration a lifetime advantage to both countries.

These sort of trade arrangements are ultimately fairly small scale and have limited impact on actual trade. What you will likely find is that one of these two countries has imposed this arrangement on the other instead of it being for mutual benefit. If certain countries within the UAE, the bigger oil providers for example, have said we want you to pay us in our currency in return for oil then India might bend over backwards to answer that need. They are definitely looking for methods that they can use in future to stop external pressure from other countries, like Europe, America and China. Ultimately it is probably more like a trial run that will end up frittering out.
It is a trial and in some view it also looks like what has been said in an earlier post as an agreement between Amazon and UPS. Already India have made similar transaction with Russia for oil when rest of the countries were requested to pay in Ruble. Success of this agreement will surely make more countries to follow it and make their own currencies stronger.
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 01, 2022, 09:35:48 PM
I could not believe this reality, Japan won Spain, Germany won Costa Rica. Everyone expected Spain to lead, but Japan become victorious in their group with 6 points, followed by Spain with 4 points. Germany also with 4 points but Spain scored more goals. It is surprising that Germany has been disqualified from world cup so fast in group stage.
Despite the win of Germany over Costa Rica, they're still out of the World Cup. I'm sure that many are disappointed about this fact with Germany. And for Japan, it's also another surprising win from them. Who expected that Japan would be this good and beat Spain? I think that the majority is with Spain and think that they'll have an easy win against Japan. But this is world cup, just like any other major league that I've watched, there's always the upsets.
Majority predicted Germany to be the winners of the World Cup. Japan have won against Germany and now it have marked its win against Spain. It have lost against Costa Rica. I don't understand in what way Japan have performed. Anyhow this will boost more Asian countries get into the competence. Right now England takes the stand to win the Cup.
1371  Economy / Economics / Re: Can One Get Rich or At least Not go Broke During a Recession? on: December 01, 2022, 09:12:04 PM
.
Lets just accept the fact and this is really that part of reality. This is why if you are really that thriving on making yourself able to survive even on recessions then you should be mindful
with having several other income sources and not really just sticking with your day stable job.

Indeed, when a crisis occurs, we should not seek to withdraw in self-defense such as saving or cutting spending, all of those things are worth doing, but we should also reach out, step outside our comfort zone, and look for new opportunities are available to us. To me, other people's difficulties are my own opportunities, opportunities do not come to you, but seek them yourself. Similar to the current bear market, bitcoin is cheap and you have to decide if it's an opportunity or a problem to ignore.
Agreed, rather than limiting our spending it is good to find additional opportunities to cope up with the needs. This isn't possible when we're at the recession period. In recent weeks the job cut by the corporates have reached its peak. This means, already there is a big increase in the number of people losing their opportunity. Now when we get into competence it make things go worse. As mentioned, someone's difficulty is our opportunity. If we take it that way then it is possible.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 01, 2022, 08:46:36 PM
What a comeback from Germany. They proved the ability to the world. With the goals coming from Havertz at the 73rd and 85th minute of the match have taken back the momentum. The Germany won't let Costa Rica to win the match. The match expected to be won by Germany in an easy manner have reached to the hardest.

On the Japan vs Spain it is Japan to win the match. From the very beginning Spain holds the ball for the maximum, but it wasn't able to make it a goal. Maybe this is some kind of defensive technique.

Can someone clarify. I topped the leaderboard on the $100k World Cup Predictor. There is daily prize for the leaderboard on every 22 match day. I haven't received any prize.

In which rounds you have the most points and became the top predictors? What you show in the screenshot is the overall leaderboard while the daily prize is something based on the best point we earned in that day. I checked the daily leaderboard from round 1-7 but I do not see your name in the top place. It seems that you misunderstand the rules a bit, I guess you think that there is a daily prize for those who is/are in the overall leaderboard. Am I right?
Yes, this is how I understood. I thought one who tops the leaderboard on that particular day will be the winner for the day. It looks like, every day matches falls under the respective round. Each round's top predictor will be the winner for that round.

Might be better if we have a poll OP?

This discussions has turned into animal cruelty vs gamblers who doesn't mind animals being involved for such games.

Like in your case, it seems that its already part of your culture and customs and yet it is being criticized here. So I'm just interested on the numbers, who favors who in this kind of argument.
Animal cruelty is discussed much. With the same, different cultural events have been cited. It is true one should not do harm to the animals. If we've innovated something new it is fine. Here we're following what is being followed out of a community's tradition and culture. Only a poll can get the proper result. I'll be in favour of people to continue gambling with animals, if this is cruelty killing animals for our fooding too is cruelty.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 28, 2022, 10:47:54 PM
Fernandes was really impressive today. He missed the chance to make a hat-trick there as his shot was saved by the goalkeeper. We must have all thought that Ronaldo scored the first goal but the cross directly found the back of the net. I assume Ronaldo would have taken that penalty if he wasn't subbed off before.

Portugal have guaranteed qualifying for next round but Uruguay are in a really troubling situation now. I don't feel like they will be able to make it. Because they need to win their last game but it is against Ghana. We have seen how good they are so far.
When it is Portugal, it'll be Christiano Ronaldo who will be under discussion. This time entire discussion have turned towards Fernandes. From the beginning he was confident and was making progress for the shots. Finally it happened and kept the team in the lead. Based on the performance between the two teams, it looked like a draw. In the second half Portugal came up strong and Uruguay wasn't able to overcome as pressure got built.
1377  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think that we will see 13500 Dollars In 2022 on: November 28, 2022, 10:34:22 PM
I think we have a retest approaching, presuming we dont recover both the 2 day and weekly averages.  At present it seems to be drifting towards the rocky shores of prior lows, 15800 roughly and if it doesnt clear that area soon and with some confidence then the situation would develop negatively from there at least near term.
There is market stability over $16500 and now this have got slipped reaching around $16k which is an indication of downward movement. Bases on this, it looks like the bottom of 2022 is yet to happen. Something positive needs to be circulated, if not this is going to reach its bottom over the start of the falling month which could get continued for the year 2023.
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge can it go 1$ on: November 28, 2022, 10:30:14 PM
The ath reached by doge is close to $0.74 which is almost near to $1. With the occurrence of Twitter there is big expectation over the price of dogecoin. We don't know how far this will go in real-time, but Elon Musk being a cryptocurrency influencer have got the ability to drive the price.

The market being bearish, and a positive drive of dogecoin can be easily identified as manipulation. To experience the regular growth we need to have the patience for the market transition. Maybe during the next bullish move along with the support of Elon Musk this could happen.

Yup, Elon Musk would just sneeze about DOGE and it would be up by more than 10% in a day.  Lol.  I know a lot of folks in crypto hates him these days but I'm rooting for him to hype DOGE and to take it as high as he can take it.  That's the key in looking for the next great 1000x coin.  If DOGE trends up to 1 USD, there's a pretty good chance one of these other microcap dog coins around 1m USD market cap or under could be the next 1000x.  So keep your eyes peeled.

I started a thread about looking for the next great 1000x and one of the criteria is it has to be a dog coin.  Lol.  Cheesy

It is true that Elon Musk have got influence over the dogecoin market. His activities will directly mark a difference, it isn't necessary to sneeze something about doge, just a pictorial representation of a dog in Twitter will make the price of dogecoin increase until he changes the dog image.

It is interesting that you've made a thread to find the next 1000x gem out of the dogs.
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you believe in Litecoin? on: November 28, 2022, 10:25:35 PM
I don't believe in the $500 for LTC, but in stable 100 it is quite possible.New investors who come to the crypto market do not often buy old assets, they are more interested in more modern meme coins and tokens.I often buy some,if I have free money and use it even more often if I need to send funds between exchanges.I think a lot of people do that.
Litecoin is one among the coin that have got good usage and accepted into more number of services compared with different other cryptocurrencies. Being an old coin it have got its importance. However it lacks growth and it was growing along with ethereum. Later ethereum progressed, but Litecoin missed the move. Till date it have been struggling to make a big move.

Litecoin is good for long term. It is one among the trusted investment where profit in the long term is assured, but the profit too won't be that big.
1380  Economy / Economics / Re: Corrupt people in crypto on: November 27, 2022, 11:41:53 PM
There had been less trust even before. Those who can take the courageous risk and be patient are the ones left in the crypto field.
But investors who are just jumping from one hype to another are the ones who should be careful on this kind of corrupted projects as how you said it.
This is a risky market and it's true that there's even lesser trust before because everyone thinks that bitcoin is an internet money scam and whatsoever they can think of it negatively. Now, that it's gotten big and more wide reach to investors worldwide, there's still the thinking about it for being bad and with all of these companies that are having their exit, it's hard to see that they'll be gone forever because eventually, there will be a new one.
Market is young, as said when someone takes an exit new player makes his entry. In a trust based market we can't complaint anyone to be wrong or right. We've taken to move on a high risk investment, and so should be our thoughts.

We can't be judgemental on specific person to be corrupt, each and everyone is responsible for the transition of a common man to a corrupt man. This happens when we expect things to happen good always without understanding what is happening around us.
