1061  Other / Archival / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: February 20, 2023, 01:40:41 AM
Very basic things necessary to make a common person or a techny who hadn't used to it, mobile with little balance in bitcoin. Another mobile with a wallet. Bitcoin chart to explain how the price have moved from the bottom to the present market. Aaprt from this, list of services that can be enjoyed using bitcoin.

Surely there arises a question why can't it be handled as we use paper currency. By the time we need to explain what is meant by virtual currency. Further showing them in the wallet will give them better understanding. Now make a transaction and show the other mobile reflecting the transaction. This will give an understanding how transaction happens without the involvement of third party.

Next part is to brief about the growth happened through the years. This might interest him to go for it or learn further. Maybe if he's interested he'll comeback requesting to support in learning more. If not just leave it and support others who are fond of knowing bitcoin.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reasons for holding bitcoins? on: February 19, 2023, 11:58:42 PM
Going through the growth chart of bitcoin is enough to understand for what reason people keep on buying and hold bitcoin. When we hold we can experience the variation in terms of USD. Even when we have small holdings in the wallet and when there is bullish move in the market, it gives an awesome feel to watch our holdings value change in the positive direction.
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 19, 2023, 11:57:39 PM
Almost everything OP said is correct, and for me, the most important part is the last part he said "Educate Ourselves" because if we don't do it, we won't know if our assets have been put at risk. or not.

It is still a big thing to have enough knowledge as long as the ideas that we are discovering here in the world of cryptocurrency are correct.
Educating ourselves is the most important. When we have the knowledge about the do's and don'ts we'll look for the better security and keep is in a more secure way. Even with securing the recovery phrase some used to be careless and loss big funds. Through education these problems can be overcome. More discussion is another thing that lets us know what is available in the updated market for better security.
1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bolt driver experience: promoting bitcoin in my business on: February 19, 2023, 11:48:53 PM
More and more good things are happening through our forum members. In recent months we were able to see good number of forum members spreading the word about bitcoin as well as accepting bitcoin into the business. This is another big move and no one have tried it. This is the first time I've come across someone who had accepted bitcoin for the ride locally and direct to the wallet. Hope these small level of acceptance here and there will help with more people adding cryptocurrency acceptance to their businesses.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin class with my students. on: February 19, 2023, 11:44:43 PM
Great job op, this is a good initiatives by bringing the knowledge of bitcoin and blockchain to your locality this is called "grass roots impartations or development" meaning they are being inculcated early to the digital worlds and believing they will have the knowledge indepthly while they grow and know how to make decision on concerning their financial status.
Please try to be more practical with the subject I think they would learn very faster while learning.
That is really a great work from OP. Not everyone take initiative, even when we have time and the knowledge to teach. Another important thing, these are the upcoming users of cryptocurrency. As said educating the grass roots make the network even stronger. Just came across a thread where random people were questioned of Bitcoin or $100, and the response is $100. These kind of education will change the preference among those people.

I am actually a little confused about picking a winner in this match. If we think about the current form of course Sinner is going to stay ahead in my opinion. But if we think about both of them and the head to head competition, Medvedev is the one.
Sinner is actually quite good at the moment and when he can beat Tsitsipas in the previous round it proves that he is indeed performing well and that increases his confidence because Tsitsipas was his toughest opponent before going to the final, but I predict that Medvedev will win the match in a tight match and ended up with 3 sets
Sinner haven't won against Medvedev in his previous four meetings. This gives more confidence to Medvedev while Sinner will be trying his best to make a win. Medvedev playing against the youngest Sinner will have good fightback and the match doesn't end like the semifinals that he had against Dimitrov. Right now Sinner leads the first set 3-1

What a session. Australia have faced 19.1 overs scoring just 52 runs losing 9 wickets. Yesterday at the end of day 2 Australia was quite good with 63/1 and today the performance from Jadeja is really awesome taking 7 wickets for 42 runs. Today's session is completed by Jadeja and Ashwin. Lets see what India can do now.
India respect his history and continue this run of undefeated on his home soil form past 10 years. They just lose 2 matches in past 10 years, this is so incredible performance from team India. Today they also dominate the Australian on his home soil by dismissing all lineup by just scoring 113 in 2nd inning of this test match. I think all credit goes to both spinner Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin who combinely take 16 wicket in this entire test match which is phenomenal. But I am little surprise from Australian batter for Thier bad performance hope Thier coach will make changes to tackle these spinner.

What a performance by Ravindra Jadeja 7 wickets that is some excellent balling , yesterday by the end of day Australia was on 61 runs 1 wicket loss and today India crushed all Australia batting line up on 113 runs .
Well deserved win by India.
Ravindra Jadeja put on another stellar performance. It was 62/1 for Australia at the start of the day in this test match against India, but a great collapse followed. There were 9 wickets lost in just 91 minutes, making this one of the worst innings in Australian test history. Australian batters didn't put up a good defensive fight and stem the flow. Only 113 runs were scored, which was not enough to make this a thriller. In this match, Australian bowlers could not defend the target 114, and Australia lost. There will be a 4-0 victory for India. It would surprise me if Australia didn't lose the series 4-0.
Once the day's play started it looked interesting as it looked like Australia is in good form. Shortly Travis Head lost his wicket and the best pair Smith and Labuschagne were on the crease. It is predicted that this pair will develop good partnership. Both were on the crease for some time period. However the wicket fall continued and at some point Jadeja began his performance and the entire spell covered by Ashwin and Jadeja. I don't think Australia will loss every match, surely Australia will make a comeback in the next match.

India Women vs West Indies Women
The match was already started it's seems West Indies women batting performance is quite good in today's from the others two match. They took 72 run in 12 overs there required runrate is 6 and loose only one wicket. Although they are behind Pakistan Women's team in the points table, if they can manage the run rate like this today and set a good score for Pakistan, I think they can win.
The match is between Pakistan Women and West Indies Women. The first innings got over and West Indies Women have scored 116 runs. For Pakistan Women it is reachable target, as 6 runs per over is enough to reach the target. In 3 overs Pakistan Women team have reached 13 runs without losing wickets. If Pakistan Women were able to build good opening partnership without missing the run rate required Pakistan Women can record their win.

The Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars is going on. In 8 overs Karachi Kings have scored 75 runs losing a wicket. Upon the present scoring pattern it looks like Karachi Kings could cross 200 runs. Mathew Wade who was batting good unlucky went to the pavilion on a run out. James Vince and Haider Ali is building the partnership slowly. Raza trying to break the partnership makes him go for full length balls and the same makes it easy for the batsmen.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 19, 2023, 03:37:16 AM
We've heard and seen some similar cases of match fixing but this very one caught my attention because it's a large competition and if such a competition can be rigged then, how much more are the hopes of smaller teams and competition?

Just as other users have said and most of this match fixing are done in developing countries by some group of very influential and wealth persons because rigging and fixing of matches can mostly be done by people who have what it take to buy the minds of people and make some good and vuge returns in return.
Rather than developing countries, these kind of incidents were common in the countries where specific sports is popular. Think about Brazil, automatically everyone remember football when the name Brazil is found somewhere. Such kind of fraud happening in those countries could destroy the real spirit over the sports. What is being done by these frauds were a destruction to the future generation.

In another match New Zealand have almost lost its match as the score have reached 63/5.

New Zealand's defeat is certain. At the end of the third day, New Zealand scored 63 runs and lost 5 wickets. England still needs 331 runs to win. And it is totally impossible for them now. However, the performance of England's bowlers has been outstanding. Robison and Anderson's bowling in the first innings was outstanding. But Stuart Board is bowling brilliantly in the second innings. And took 4 wickets.
With the win England will lead the two match series. New Zealand somehow managed to do well in the first innings and the second innings isn't that good. The match is being played in New Zealand, this is an advantage but things hadn't favoured New Zealand.

Match between India and Australia have turned interesting with a big comeback moment from the left hand right hand combination Axar and Ashwin. India was 139/7 and now the score have reached 231/7 and trail by just 32 runs.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 18, 2023, 07:21:17 AM

England's batsmen played very well in both innings. Their collection in the first innings was 325 runs. And England's collection of 374 runs in the second innings. Every batsman in England played reasonably well. As the pitch was not batting-friendly. So 374 runs seems a good enough collection to me. England set a target of 393 runs. The New Zealand batsmen did not play well in the first innings. The top-order players in particular performed poorly. If the top-order players do not play well in the second innings too, then New Zealand will lose this match.

Newzealand have to chase a big target of 393. Their bowling was not good enough in both innings to stop England from scoring big runs. Newzealand need to bat with responsibility, they have scored 306 runs in first innings and this time they need 393 runs. They have started innings and score 10 runs in 2 overs so far.
Already New Zealand have lost the top order batsmen Latham, Convoy and Williamson. If this continues New Zealand gonna end the innings in less than 150 runs. Williamson is a much important player for New Zealand, and if he had stayed on the crease surely good partnership could've been developed. Stuart Board have done the best taking the 3 wickets.
1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 18, 2023, 05:49:46 AM
Uff another top-order collapse, so frustrating to see this Indian top order.

Once again these guys are putting pressure on lower order and expecting them to bail out!! 263 looks like a mammoth total atm.

Need a masterclass inning from Kohli and I hope no Pikachu face when he gets out.

Top order have collapsed. Pujara same as the previous match hadn't fulfilled the expectation. Shreyas Iyer into the squad and going to the pavilion with 4 runs is a big disappointment. Virat Kohli and Jadeja on the crease need to build good partnership. If not 263 doesn't looks reachable as the score is 77/4. As said India bottom order is given pressure as the top order collapse. If the top order have performed good, now the bottom order might perform even better.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One reason why bitcoin is still the King on: February 18, 2023, 02:50:21 AM
Bitcoin backed by a large community and it is the most used cryptocurrency. No matter how big of a project an altcoin has, they still fall too short of competing with bitcoin.
There are many reasons for bitcoin to have this great market share. I don't see a single altcoin which have the potential like bitcoin, and I don't think any coin will.
Technology matters a lot. During the beginning days none believed in the technology as well as Bitcoin. Slowly the market started to pump and at some point the Pizza guy gave value to it with his purchase. From then onwards the market of bitcoin progressed and there were existence of more altcoins. Some stood strong in the market whereas majority are just tokenised services. Even there are few coins that are being developed during the days of bitcoin into existence. Even those coins weren't able to stay on the market. For several reasons bitcoin can be termed to be the king. Another reason, once bitcoin cash tried to take the throne as the real bitcoin. Finally bitcoin was favoured by the consensus and through different obstacles bitcoin stands high as King.
1075  Other / Archival / Re: Cash App just added the lightning network?! on: February 18, 2023, 02:44:11 AM
For now it is allegedly only available for those who reside in the United States (except those from the State of New York).
I have never used this app, actually, I do not recall ever hearing about it here in my country, but whatever implementation of the second layer which helps people to move their money, it is welcomed.
Already Cash App isn't available all around the world. The service is limited within the United States and United Kingdom. This being a popular application to buy bitcoin makes the addition of lightning network an added feature. Already they've got 1.5% on instant transaction. Maybe this service could come at a better transaction fee. The access to international transaction need to be added and the same might be beneficial with the lightning network.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 16, 2023, 11:49:07 PM
Depends on the situation; if you are in a country wherein this technology is prohibited and it would take time for you to be able to make use of Bitcoin, then a hundred bucks would be a better deal, otherwise Bitcoin would obviously be a greater option simply because its market price has a tendency to increase and if it is 1 Bitcoin, definitely it has a higher market value. A simple question indeed not until you dig down the situation. But as with the cited situation; kids were aske; how come they would know the price of something they are not aware of? Ofcourse they'd go with what's obvious. We all have done that when we're young.
Agreed, people go with the things they have much used to. Here these kids are much aware of dollars and never used bitcoin. Atleast once if they've checked the price of bitcoin they could've chosen bitcoin. The girls didn't take a second chance, just grabbed the dollar. Maybe after this they might try to know what is bitcoin. I believe this video might've made few people around to try and understand what is bitcoin.
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of altcoins on Bitcoin's early growth and adoption? on: February 16, 2023, 11:44:30 PM
Altcoins have made people rich. This means people who missed to invest good on bitcoin preferred altcoins. People who had chosen the right altcoins have benefitted good out of it. Altcoins have served as the best investment and as a good competence asset. If there were no altcoins the market wouldn't have flourished to this level.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 16, 2023, 11:36:36 PM
Bitcoin is the best alternative way to save money, with Bitcoin you have control over your savings because it's your wallet and your key and you are your banks!
That's true and we have saw on how good it was for many crisis. Not just with these incidents from Turkey and Syria, not just with Ukraine and Russia but also even with a pandemic.

Although it's not for everybody that sees volatility isn't an opportunity. But for us that sees it as an opportunity is looking forward that it's one of the greatest asset that we can ever have.

Not just increasing in value overtime but also its characteristic as a deflationary asset is one we can bank on.
Agreed, not just the market fluctuation. Bitcoin being deflationary makes it best against the traditional fiat. The usage of bitcoin helps in all situations and we need to make use of the characteristics than just staying idle out of fear and with the mind that doesn't take risk.

Bitcoin have helped people all over the world at different circumstances through its growth as well as the volatile market that lets people earn something out of the difference between buying and selling unlike the market trend of bitcoin.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 14, 2023, 02:07:05 PM
It seems like the West Indies can win the match by an inning as well. This is the second time Innocent Kaia scored high scored from his team, and almost everyone failed to score some decent runs. Captain Craig Ervine is still on the crease, but it won't make a difference if other side batters come and goes. Congratulations to Nyauchi for his maiden five-wicket haul. This is remarkable for his career, but he won't be happy with the match result as they are going to lose this match. Let's see if Craig Ervine can make a difference. At least bring back West Indies to the crease to score runs.
Zimbabwe trail 19 runs and three wickets left. So, this isn't going to be a innings win for West Indies. Craig Ervine is in good form scoring 69 runs out of 99 balls. There is no one to support as the bottom order is on the crease. Possibly the innings will reach maximum of 200 runs. Zimbabwe needs more improvement and West Indies bowlers are good form. Gudakesh Motie have bowled well in the second innings taking 4 wickets with an economy less than 3.5rpo
1080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: February 13, 2023, 11:27:17 PM
I guess most people were pretty excited when Musk bought out twitter.  Because they will be hoping that he will build crypto payments features on twitter, specifically Doge and some web integration 3. That includes some supporters and enthusiastic like CZ.  But so far, apart from restructuring the platform, censorship... we still don't know when?  Personally I guess Musk will accept bitcoin first?  the reason he needs value compensation for the loss of holding bitcoins in Tesla.
I'm not sure whether we're correct or wrong, it is really hard to analyse the billionaires mind. First of all he won't connect Twitter with cryptocurrency for some time period until the amount invested on Twitter was taken back. Right now he keeps adding more features and through that he makes it premium and tries to generate revenue out of it. Adding something of crypto to Twitter will boost the cryptomarket and this doesn't have much of impact over the Twitter.
