In fact, India was busy with IPL T20 for a long time, so they can't prepare well with Test matches. After coming this far indies performance in final is below the standard,  they are among the strongest teams in the world with the worlds most famous league so everyone was expecting more from them. In the first inning, bowling was bad but batting was worse from the top order, most of them got an okay start but failed to continue for a long, our lower order came to rescue to some extent.

In the second inning, bowlers did a fairly good job and batters did show intent but again failed to convert their good starts to big innings, it happened with all the top 5. Literally, everyone got a good start and they were looking really good.

Apart from the batsmen, the majority of the blame goes to management because our bowlers did look tired. Umesh was completely out of touch, he didn't go through his usual runup when bowling, i believe he wasn't 100% fit.

For an important match such as the WTC final, they refused to play any warmup matches. On the other hand, many of the Australian players were already in England, playing for various county and club sides months before the match. It was almost as if this match was not important for the Indian team. If someone gets a good start and then fails to convert it to a century, then the possible reasons are lack of focus and seriousness. And this is the hint that I got while watching this test match. Anyway, the Ashes is going to start by next week. Hopefully it will be more enjoyable compared to this debacle.

Afghanistan has only played six matches in this format, which makes them relatively new if you compare them to the Bangladesh test side. Although the Bangladesh test team is not currently at their best level, they are still relatively competitive at Mirpur against any side. This time around, there are some newcomers added to the Afghanistan squad and their star bowler Rashid Khan will be rested for the one-off test against Bangladesh.

Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium is said to be a lucky venue for Bangladesh because top teams like India, England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand have been whitewashed in this Mirpur. Moreover, spinners get more advantage than fast bowlers in Mirpur.  From that aspect, Taijul Islam, Mehdi Hasan Miraj can get additional benefits. On the other hand, the bad news for the Bangladesh team is that Tamim Iqbal is not participating in this test due to a back injury.
Rashid Khan would have had an added advantage for Afghanistan at the Mirpur venue but unfortunately is not in the Afghanistan squad due to injury. Besides, some other spinners Mohammad Nabi and Mujibur Rahman are absent. In that regard, Afghanistan has prepared the squad with relatively few spinners.

Looks like Rohit might get replaced as the test captain in the near future based on information from various sources. Dravid might also get sacked since he hasn't really helped the team achieve much so far.

If Rohit does get replaced, I hope Ashwin gets a shot or Kohli should return since these two have great leadership qualities.
