3481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + GPS + Drones + Dead Drops / Kidnapping on: October 31, 2015, 04:29:56 PM
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/26/business/dealbook/for-ransom-bitcoin-replaces-the-bag-of-bills.html?_r=0

Taking Bitcoins instead of cash has been an idea that's been rising the last months. It's nothing new. It makes it a whole lot easier to get away with kidnapping crimes and a lot safer for criminals. Using malware and demanding bitcoins for to get rid of it is one or the more popular ways to steal BTC. Kidnappings don't always use it because it can be difficult to locate millions upon millions of dollars in coins.
3482  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price should I buy at? on: October 30, 2015, 05:06:40 AM
My prediction is that it will keep rising to +$1000.

But that is just my prediction. Whether I believe it is another matter. If I was you I'd wait, and hope that I'm wrong.

I doubt it. Looking at the previous years comparison, there was the giant peak a couple of years ago towards the end of the year. But, across the board, a lot of stocks go up when it gets towards Christmas time and then slowly fall back down. Happens to most major companies. I'd figure BTC would do the same like it did in 2013. Getting back towards 1k per coin seems far fetched because it's a bit early to say.

3485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you? on: October 25, 2015, 05:34:42 AM
I considering Bitcoin to be as "real" as currency like USD or GPB is, though ironic considering Bitcoin doesn't physically "exist", per se. As Satoshi refers to it as a "digital currency", it leaves little room to speculate whether it is or not because it was initially designed to be one. (Successful at that, but I digress).
3486  Economy / Speculation / Re: $300 before the end of this day or nah? on: October 25, 2015, 05:30:26 AM
We've had a great last two weeks. Price has been on a steady increase. Around the mid 290's ATM. Hope to break 300 soon.
3487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How I Make $5,234Month With Bitcoin - No Trading & Mining on: October 24, 2015, 05:10:09 AM
That type of garbage has never worked, nor will it ever. Apart from mining and trading, what other ways are there to make Bitcoin? I wouldn't lay down a penny for something that shady, let alone 200 bucks.
3488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: October 18, 2015, 03:23:35 AM
There was a local food truck once accepting Bitcoin, to my surprise. I didn't have a mobile wallet at the time and my BTC was stored on a PC, but that's the closest I've ever been.
3489  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: October 13, 2015, 03:39:00 AM
The odds of it happening are extremely slim because for this to happen, something like USD or GBP would have to crash almost completely. The stock market would have to turn to garbage, not just crash like it did in 08, but be basically worthless. As of now, it won't be happening in the near future. But, that won't mean BTC can't make it to 1000+ like it did a year ago.

Hi, you should move this thread to Currency Exchange section. You'll see below there's an option to move your thread.

Amazon gift cards are not a currency. This belongs in digital goods.

3494  Other / Politics & Society / Re: MORE THAN A DOZEN REPORTEDLY KILLED IN SHOOTING AT OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE on: October 04, 2015, 12:21:12 AM
Obama will probably address the public, then shortly later he'll push for stricter gun control any time a mass shooting happens...Times like these, I don't feel politics should necessarily be involved, but protocols like damn security guards being unarmed should be reviewed.
He did not even waited that long... What a sad president.

It's like this every time. He doesn't address the public to mourn the deaths of the people, he does it so he can push for stricter gun control. He finds the need to turn everything to a political event the day after the shooting instead of address those who died or offering condolences.

There is what? 1 mass shooting a week? When should he talk about possible solutions? I never got the american fascination with guns. Are you safer because of them? Or have more freedom of speech than other western countries because of weapons?

He's been talking about possible solutions, forever now. He seems to take these "address the public" speeches to no longer mourn or inform the public, but rather create political pushes for gun control. After Sandy Hook, it seems nothing will happen anymore.

3497  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Story of Gold on: September 29, 2015, 02:50:20 AM
Interesting enough, there are conspiracies that Fort Knox, a vault in Kentucky in the US that holds giant stashes of gold, really contains nothing. Given this, USD would most definitely collapse. USD isn't something that's able to hold itself up without having something physical behind it.
3498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: September 27, 2015, 06:55:13 PM
Meh, more or less. I think it's best to trust exchanges with small amounts of BTC for short amounts of time. I would never use an exchange as my personal wallet for incoming and outgoing transactions. I'd only trust the most popular exchanges like Coinbase. Even then, I would still not leave a large amount of BTC on it. You never know what's going to happen, like them locking you out of your account and asking for "verification" or something.
3499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Officially a Commodity in the U.S. on: September 18, 2015, 08:54:12 PM
Not at all surprising. The US government has tried so hard to regulate Bitcoin. Now, there's a ridiculous law that will allow users to get in trouble for trading it. How in the world do you tax something like Bitcoin when it's P2P? Not sure...

The chat in Primedice is hilarious. Bunch of washed up gambling addicts begging for money and ignorant gamblers that believe someone who just busted will return 3x the BTC they send them.
